UPDATE: I have given these away, attributing it to my age, perhaps. I am finding that the products with less coverage are better on me now. These are just incredibly too thick, in addition to the color range. I still like NYX for shadows and blushes. They are the best for the money! These are just mask-like. Way too thick. I wanted to like this product so much that I ended up buying two shades to match my skin. Even though, I have to give these away. They don't make anything for light, light skin. I have tried time and time again. I am a big fan of NYX, and I love all of their other products! I just think that they might do a better job in the future of matching skin. I am not a difficult customer, but I do think that they could do better between Kabuki and Jaundice. Revlon and Almay, who have made the most amazing foundations for my skin (mass-marking, and no animal testing, just like NYX), discontinuing their products just astound me. 2nd Update: Just threw them away.
Beautiful Navy Blue color for liner! I cannot imagine anything more beautiful than this! I have never found anything like this! It is a little extremely pigmented, so a little goes a long way. Along with "Hawaiian Coffee," these two NYX shadows are probably the prettiest I have ever seen. The company engages in NO ANIMAL TESTING! UPDATE: I am still using this beautiful shade as an eyeliner, along with the Hawaiian Coffee color in my crease (and often on my lid). Really gorgeous color. I am considering getting rid of my other shadows.
I hate powder. I needed to let you know that so that you can take my review into consideration. I thought this product would be different, so my expectations were there. I do not care for this product, so heavy. I should also explain, however, that I am allergic to the Bare Minerals foundation. This product is only corn starch. If you care to try this product, maybe you should just try corn starch. It will save you a lot of $.
This is probably the most beautiful shadow I have ever seen, bar none. I have blue eyes, and light skin, but I think that this would work with any complexion or eye color. Please look into this. The company engages in NO ANIMAL TESTING. UPDATE: I am still using this shadow daily, and cannot even consider using another. I am thinking of getting rid of my other shadows. I do believe that this is a beautiful universal color.

This item is like brushing literal rust on your face. I have tried to put this on my NC20-25 complexion, and it looks like Man-Tan. If you care to look like George Hamilton, then maybe you should consider, otherwise, please look elsewhere.
Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals in 1.2, fairly light

The product looked GREAT on my face. The problem was that I was allergic to one of the ingredients. I had never had any reaction to a product the way I had to this one! WOW! It hurt to have it on! I tried this product on several occasions, and still, what a horrible itch! My girlfriends who always poo-poo my suggestions (always for less expensive products) don't believe me. Maybe I am an alien, but WOW, this stuff just irritated the hell out of my skin! I donated all of my Bare Minerals to a local charity. I sure hope that the women there don't have the same reaction! I truly feel guilty!
Eye Shadow -Avon - Perfect Wear Extralasting Powder Eyeshadow
hpunkinway 3/14/2012 1:24:00 AM
I bought this in three colors. Honestly, no coolness, no wetness, no blendability. I don't know if I just have a bad batch--I must have--given the other reviews here, but I am sending these back. Not worth bothering to try again. I rarely write a bad review, and I DO like Avon in general. UPDATE: I gave these another chance. No thank you. Not smoothe, not even, not consistent as a product. I sure wanted these to work, as theoretically, they could have saved me a olt of time.
This is amazing stuff for all of the things you can use it for! A bath oil and a tire dressing...works like WD40 on sliding glass doors...shines wood! It is very heavily-scented, however, and therefore might not be so good for someone with sensitivities. Anyway, it is mainly mineral oil, and mineral oil has 100+ uses. regarding mosquitoes, I only wish that I had known about it when living in the Midwest--I have many scars from mosquito bites. I have no doubt that the little critters would have been repelled by the tremendous scent! UPDATE: I rarely use this in the bath due to the bath ring. I have found that this stuff actually keeps critters out of your home without killing them. That is why I give this product another big thumbs up!! Also, good for your car dashboard, just water it down. GREAT as a tire dressing! This stuff just has so many uses, I cannot get over it. Just Google "Skin-So-Soft."

A response to Thumbelina1's review: Dear if you are not going through menopause, then everything you have said is true. For everyone else, this is really not adequate in our society, where everyone expects us to smell flowery. Have you had any hot flashes? I suspected not yet. Just trying to give my most honest opinion about these products, and believe me, I am very environmentally aware and active. This sucker just does not fit the bill. This is really not the most effective product out there. I can smell that I "smell" more when using this product. I bathe every day, so it is not an issue. No one has commented (thank goodness), but I can tell the difference. For those of you ladies who are very active, and/or may not shower daily, this is honestly not what I would consider the best option. I do not think that I will be re purchasing this product. (Somehow, I think that we must do a tradeoff in some cases when it come to effective products, sadly!) Just my opinion. I will continue using it up for Winter months, but I am afraid that I will need something a little heavier in summer months. (This is based of course on United States standards of hygiene. I would not think twice about using it all the time if I lived in Europe.)
Treatments -Paula's Choice - RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment with 5% AHA

This product is exquisite. It works like an AHA, only better. I am not sure what the magical extra ingredients are, but I am hooked, even though it costs more than I usually would customarily spend on such a product. Paula's "Resist" line is fantastic, if a little on the expensive side. I am 43, have no wrinkles but the "eleven" between my brows that I have had from my mid-twenties, sun damage, oily-combination skin. I am extremely cheap with products; I do not believe in spending more than $20 usually on any product, and that is stretching it. I will spring for Paula's, however, because of the difference I can feel and see in the mirror.
Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant

I have been using this product for so many years, I cannot remember when I started. It makes skin so smooth, gets rid of blockages in pores. Thing is, I have never used it nightly. It would be just too irritating. At 43, I use it once weekly in the winter and twice weekly in the summer. I recommend trying this one, and adjusting it according to your own judgement, but it is probably the finest product with salicylic on the market. UPDATE: There is still nothing like it on the market. Believe me, you will enjoy what it does for your skin (as long as you have that type of skin). It may seem a bit pricey, but it has NO alcohol, as is truly the best product of its kind on the market.
What a great way to get your hair up easily. I've been growing out a short haircut, and haven't had my hair cut in nearly a year now (wow how time flies). These are great for in-between cuts, or if you're a long-haired girl, just creating a quick and elegant hairstyle. Highly recommended!

This is one amazing product. This does what a Hungarian cosmetologist my mom recommended while she was alive; (my mom died in 2003) which was peel away layers of dead skin in a different fashion. While my lovely mom was more into skin care stuff than I ever was, and she invited me to spas and crap that I never really did appreciate, but wow, very fun to roll off layers of skin. My mom would spend WAY MORE MONEY on skincare than I ever would think about spending. Not sure whether this will have any effect on other people. Just saying, I like it, and you therefore might want to try it if my review appeals to you. UPDATE: Not using this much at all. If anyone cares to try a bottle of it, I will send it to you, for postage only. Not that I don't like it, only that I don't need it.
Moisturizers -Olay - Regenerist UV Defense Regenerating Lotion SPF 50

Wow, I am extraordinarily surprised by the bad reviews. I began using this after having read Paula Begoun's review, and this is the only sunscreen I will use. I think it's great: (1.) It does not cause breakouts as most sunscreen do on me, (2.) its is very light, (3.) it does not sting my eyes!!!!, and (4.) it's nice and light. That's my two cents. Great product! By that way, when the product goes low and the pump fails, all you have to do is remove the cap and scrape the last bits out. I'm not really sure why anyone with intact motor skills would have trouble with that. Is that just the same as all products? UPDATE: I think that this company engages in animal testing. While I will use up what i have, and sadly, I love this product, there are many others out there that do not require this cruelty. I therefore have to reduce its points to a three.
I was a devotee of Paula's balancing Cleanser, and tried this on a whim--that was 7 mos. ago. I have ordered more of this since. It's very effective at cleansing---but I do usually use the Clarisonic Mia with it (when wearing makeup, though not always). I love that it has no scent and that it rinses so quickly. No lather, no mess, and perfect for travel. UPDATE: I still like this. UPDATE: I have ordered 16 oz. more of this product. Simply the best. (Please note, I do not wear very much makeup at all, so the gripes about makeup removal could likely be true.)
