Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion
honeyangel77 11/15/2007 1:48:00 PM
Just plain smells like plastic and glue with a touch of vanilla on the skin... smells amazing in the bottle though. Too bad it doesnt transfer well to human beings... The lotion isnt too incredibly moisturizing either. Hrmf.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel
honeyangel77 11/15/2007 1:40:00 PM
The bottle is beautiful and elegant, but the smell is somewhat cheap compared to the bottle. I have wanted to smell Angel for many months and when I finally tried some at a department store, I couldnt stand the initial scent. It smelled like wet dog. After drydown, I noticed it had softened to a powdery chocolate scent, like a scant hot cocoa powder mix with a bit of vanilla and patchouli. I thought to myself, after this dries down, it reminds me of something. I went ahead and bought a small bottle thinking I could handle the dog smell until drydown, but as soon as I realized that the drydown was what Avons Extraordinary smells like from start to finish, I decided that at 1/5th the price, Extraordinary would be my choice. Angel is somewhat different, but not worth the cost to me. I wore Angel one day to work and Extraordinary the next day and actually got some compliments on the second day... dunno if this is because the scent was stronger/longer lasting or if it just plain smells better.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Chocolovers EDT
honeyangel77 9/23/2007 8:37:00 PM
Eh... about 20 bucks an ounce for a perfume that applies pretty strong but soon washs out and fades to where u only smell it if you inhale a part of your body where it was applied. After drydown, the scent is of malted cocoa... very very faint. I dont smell the orange others spoke of at all. The bottle is simple, the smell nothing I couldnt find elsewhere or in a longer lasting formulation. For the money, I would rather spend my money on something with some staying power... and a bit more decadent.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Target Premium Whitening Strips
honeyangel77 9/23/2007 8:32:00 PM
This review is for the Target Premium Plus whitening strips I havent used these for long enough to know about just how effective they are at whitening, but I will keep this updated with that info as it becomes apparent whether they work or not. I do however have to comment on other aspects of this product. The strips are just like crest whitestrips stuck to the inside of a plastic moldable insert. You hate the taste of the crest whitestrips and find yourself spitting every few minutes because your saliva mingles with it and makes a nasty tastin mess? This is the answer you have been waiting for! What I am most impressed with is the moldable tray that the strips sit inside of. They are extremely easy to apply, can be a bit tricky to remove but adding a bit of water to your mouth will unstick them. There is no nasty taste in my mouth at all!! I am not even salivating! I just have to rave on that point alone lol The Crest whitestrips look better on, you can talk and walk around without anyone really knowing you are wearing them. Sadly these are not so conspicious. These are a light blue color, so theyre best for use at home, and yea... they do compromise your speech a bit... causing a tad lisp which is the only reason I gave them a 4 instead of 5 stars. They come packaged in individual bubble packets inside a plastic flip top box with an added bonus of a mirror inside. This is what I wanted from Crest whitestrips. They cost about half of what the comparable Crest whitestrips do. I was really having a problem wearing both upper and lower crest whitestrips at the same time, these are a dream to wear, I almost forget I am wearing them. WIll update once I have used them several days on their whitening ability.

Gels/Soaps -Aquolina - Pink Sugar Glossy Shower Gel
honeyangel77 9/21/2007 5:04:00 PM
Eh, run of the mill shower gel, cleans ok, leaves a bit of a film if not rinsed off well. Smell is reminiscent of Pink Sugar perfume, but much much less strong. I can barely smell this in the shower, nor on my skin afterward so I cant say much about its layering power. It does foam nicely in a pouf. I have semi dry skin and this just doesnt do it for me. Not moisturizing at all in my opinion. I can have the same or better results from a 3.00 gel from elsewhere... and can layer the scent by rubbing some vaseline on my pulsepoints and spraying with the real pink sugar perfume.

Other -Crest - Whitestrips Premium
honeyangel77 9/21/2007 4:49:00 PM
These work great, whitening teeth at least a few shades after only 4 days use. The taste is not too offensive, however wearing both upper and lower tooth strips at the same time is difficult and causes alot more salivation. The strips seemed to move much more when wearing both, but I had no problem wearing them one at a time. I have used these before, and the whitening has lasted beyond a year for me. I have not had a huge problem with tooth or gum sensitivity, and the bit of tenderness caused by their use is worth the end result. I get tons of compliments on my smile... not the color of my teeth. T hat in itself warrants its use. I dont much care for the storage box these come in. If dropped, knocked about during travel or knocked over, all of the packets fall out. If only it closed more securely and had a small mirror, I would rate the packaging a 5. Costs around 35.00 bucks at walmart and other major retailers, but Crest offers coupons in sunday newspapers pretty regularly. I am on my 3rd box of these, I will add that the strips that are touted as being used only 5 minutes ( the Crest Daily Multicare 5 minute Strips) just didnt work for me. They were about the same price and even after using them for over 2 weeks I saw no difference. Id recommend steering clear of wasting money on those if you want to see any real lightening results. Perhaps those are made for only maintaining the whiteness u have acquired from using other strips, but in my experience, they last and last on their own.

Skincare - Body -Avon - Planet Spa African Shea Butter Brown Sugar Scrub
honeyangel77 8/14/2007 1:58:00 PM
Generally, I have dry skin that is sometimes sensitive to chemicals. It is much dryer in winter than summer, and is almost normal in summer... just a tad bit on the dry side. That said, I have found that bath and body works oil based scrubs work beautifully for me and leave me feeling soft. I also use st ives apricot scrub on my face so I decided to give this a shot on my body to see if I could find a cheaper alternative than B&BW. I tried it on recommendations I found here on MUA... it has such glowing reviews. So after trying it a couple times, heres what I say.... a perfectly acceptable scrub... non irritating, very good at exfoliating, smells nice, rinses clean, no yuks left in the tub after a shower or bath. But absolutely nothing moisturizing in it. It has glycerine but I find that drying to my skin. I have to follow this with alot of lotion after my shower or its very drying. This scrub is fine for me in warm weather but I am afraid it will be wayyyy too stripping in winter. I will update when the weather turns colder. Ive had no problems with the bottle, I would repurchase if it if only to use on my feet because it works so well.

Mascara -Rimmel - Magnif'Eyes Eye Magnifier Eye Opening
honeyangel77 8/9/2007 12:34:00 AM
I was out of town and forgot my makeup so I stopped in to a walgreens to buy some cheapie makeup to fill in til I got home. I saw rimmel products were buy one get one free so I got eyeshadow, foundation and this mascara from the line. The brush is touted as being nylon... and it definately feels... stiff upon application but isnt a half bad mascara. It doesnt do much for separating but it does extend and coat the lashes. The thing that impressed me most was that I was wearing it in 100 degree weather with 80% humidity and it didnt budge, blot, run, smear, smudge or flake all day. I was sweatin like mad too! My lashes may not have looked long and lush, but they looked decent and very black and I was one of the only women I saw with mascara on that didnt have some smudges due to the humidity and heat. That alone was worth the dough. I paid 6.99. If I am ever in need of a cheapie mascara again to do me a few days... I will prolly purchase this again.

Crème -Rimmel - cool matte mousse foundation [DISCONTINUED]
honeyangel77 8/8/2007 11:42:00 PM
I usually use max factor pan stick, but I was out of town and forgot my makeup so I stopped in at a walgreens for some cheapie replacements to last just until I got home. Rimmel products were buy one get one free so I bought all items from that line. I got this foundation in Ivory... I have tried the Maybelline Mouse foundation and it was ok... decent coverage, so I halfway expected this to work as well. It didnt. I had to apply 3 or 4 layers to even get it to cover slight discolorations in my skin. I dont have acne or anything just ruddy skin and it didnt even out my skintone for more than 15 minutes. It is touted as lasting 16 hrs... maybe: hard to tell when u dont tell any difference in wearing or not wearing to begin with. In summer I usually try lighter foundations anyway. This was very lightweight ( feeling and looking like consistency of cool whip).... but the color was weird looking on my blue undertoned skin ( the Ivory was very yellow based). I just didnt see anything positive about it. I also didnt feel anything 'cooling' about it except maybe the water content. Shrug. Sorry I spent the money on it. I may keep it and try again in autumn. Cost 7.99 USD It comes in a screw top glass jar with a plastic insert lid that you simply grab the lip and pull it out. Not very hygienic...

Polishes -Milani - Pink Pop
honeyangel77 6/6/2007 1:11:00 AM
I love the color, the packaging is not bad, typical nail polish bottle and brush, but I found the application to be a bit streaky and needed several coats for full coverage without looking... lumpy. The price was under 3 bucks tho and the color is gorgeous so its worth the extra effort to even out the streaks and lumps. After all is said and done, its fun and worth buying. It is a basic neon hot pink., very summery!

Shampoo -Alberto Vo5 - Tea Therapy Smoothing Shampoo
honeyangel77 6/6/2007 1:07:00 AM
I got a really large bottle for a buck as it had 50% free. It has a small flip top so dispensing was easy enough but thats about the only thing this shampoo has going for it. I have fine hair, that tends to be greasy ish at the roots and dryish at the ends and after I washed my hair with this my ends were frizzy and felt like cotton balls ( my hair is rarely frizzy). My scalp felt like it was still dirty, but my hairs clean. I hafta give it that much credit. Smells ok too. I would not repurchase even if it IS cheap.... I would rather spend a buck more and not hafta deal with frizz.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Banana Smoothie Temptations
honeyangel77 6/6/2007 1:02:00 AM
Packaging is cutesy The scent is exactly the same scent as Bubble Yum Strawberry Banana bubble gum. The scent lasts a few hours before fading on me, I have somewhat dry skin and the amount of moisturizing is adequate but nothing special. It just coats the skin, it doesnt do anything to enhance or improve the condition of the skin. I would say that if this lotion did not have the Bath and Body Works name on it, noone would think it was a higher dollar lotion. Overall it is a fun smell and I would recommend only buying it if for the scent... if you need a good moisturizer, look elsewhere.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
honeyangel77 5/10/2007 10:33:00 PM
while the brush is a fun novelty... the mascara is crap. I normally use lash exact... but am always up for trying new exciting things trying to find something better... and this aint it! My lashes are fine... long... and blonde. I paid the 23 bucks plus shipping for this mascara expecting a miracle in the form of false looking lashes but all I got was ho hum average lashes even with trying 1, 2, 3, and 4 layers at different times. The worst thing about this mascara is that it leaves marks under my eyes and in the crease of my lids, making my normally beautifully colored eyes racoon like. I found myself having to check a mirror every 30-45 minutes to wipe off the marks. I also noticed it was worse outside in the sun... and on humid days. I have never had a mascara do this badly tho. The long lush brush isnt worth the price tag... I may clean the brush and use it with my HG mascara instead. The brush did do a bit of seperating... but falsie looking? Naw. A complete waste of my money, there are just too many better cheaper mascaras out there to bother with this one. Woulda made more sense to burn my money than buy this. Save your money, buy a better cheaper drugstore mascara and use the extra 15 bucks to buy a deluxe urban decay eyeshadow... they are worth every penny!!!

Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Thermal Contour and Lift System
honeyangel77 3/10/2007 12:04:00 AM
Product includes enough for up to 8 weeks of treatment. Costs about 25.00-30.00 USD (information provided with product follows....) Thermal Face-Lifts are supposed to strengthen collagen, the fundamental building block that provides structure to your skin. While not a replacement for a dermatologists procedure, Regenerist Thermal Contour and Lift provides gentle warmth combined with lifting technology to contour and lift at home. Hydrates and allows your skin to firm. Step 1 Contouring Thermal Treatment - The Contouring Thermal Treatment deeply warms the skin while micro-definers help re-contour skin's surface at the cellular level Step 2 Lifting Complex - The Lifting Complex infuses moisture deep into the skins surface to immediately tighten and then allow the natural production of collagen, actually strengthening skin's structure. ( information provided with product) Instructions Moisten clean face. Dispense Contouring Thermal Treatment (the size of a quarter) onto the fingertips. Massage product in a small circular motion for one or two minutes beginning at forehead and working down the entire face and neck. Maintain thermal experience by adding water as needed. After massaging, rinse with warm water and pat dry. While face is still warm, immediately apply Lifting Complex. Begin at lower neck and infuse complex into skin surface by gently sweeping in an upward motion until you reach the forehead. Continue until thoroughly absorbed. System recommended for use up to three times per week. My mother is 61 years old and has quite a bit of sun damage and wrinkling due to sun exposure and years of smoking. This product has made some improvement, but minimal. For what it is, it works. Not nearly as well as a surgical procedure such as a face lift or botox, but for someone looking to improve the appearance of skin albeit lightly on wrinkles, who does not want to go through the expense of surgery, this is worth a shot. Of course, keep in mind that everyones skin would r eact differently to any skin treatment, mom has had some luck... enough to merit the price of the product, but keep in mind its probably not gonna work any miracles. Fragrances -Gendarme - 7 Sinful Scents - Sloth
honeyangel77 3/2/2007 11:26:00 PM
This is my second scent of Gendarme I have purchased. It is very clean smelling and long lasting. I have found all of their scents to last a long time. It is rather strong upon application... but upon dry down it reminds me alot of the smell of Irish Spring soap. A very clean, refreshing scent. If you enjoy smelling clean.. this is for you.
