This review is for the updated look, the purple bottle w/the white bottom. I love this stuff...I dont use it on a regular basis, I usually just use my cleanse n mend conditioner after the cleanse n mend shampoo, but my hair is soooo soft when I use this. I love it and would recommend it. I also love the squeeze bottle, how whenever you quit squeezing the excess product stays inside the bottle and it doesnt get all over you or the bottle! :) Love it! In the southern US where I live, it's only like 3 dollars at wal-mart. BUY IT IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE! :)
Cleansers -Clinique - Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk
haleyanna19 7/17/2011 6:28:00 PM
I dont understand all the negative reviews! This is a nice product, not sure it's worth 28 dollars. It removes my makeup in one swipe, which is what it's supposed to do. I cant imagine it working by using my hands though. I use one of those round cotton pads to take my makeup off. I used it on my eyes accidentally the other day and it didnt work so well and stung quite a bit. But for the face, this product is nice. Not sure I will repurchase, as I said before it's quite pricey (28 bucks).
LOVE THIS BRONZER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have NEVER found a bronzer that doesn't make me look like a pumpkin (It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! :-P ) but this is IT! It's more shimmer than bronzed color. I put it on w/E.L.F's powder brush (Not sure of the formal name--the one w/the flat top!) and it gives me a nice warm glow all day. Beautiful! Wouldn't go without it!!
I have this in dawn, which is OKAY, and Eggplant and Candlelight, which are NO. Eggplant and Candlelight don't blend evenly, and the Eggplant goes on WWAAYYY too dark. Dawn is a pretty color, but it, like, clumps up when you put it on w/a finger. IDK how it'd work w/a brush, I always used my fingers.
Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Perfection Volumizing Mascara
haleyanna19 7/4/2011 8:01:00 PM
Love this!!!! I am a fan of LashBlast Volume as well, and I use these interchangably, but I really like this more, as I get more consistent results with this. The only gripe I have is that my tube feels empty all the time, and I always feel like Im running out, but then when I put the brush to my lashes it's fine. weird! but anyway--volumizes excellent in two coats, and only like 5-6 bucks where I live! sweet!
an OKAY brush. I only use this for applying my e.l.f bronzer, it leaves a lovely bronzed glow when applied w/this brush. I give it a 5 out of 5 for applying the bronzer, but for any other use, a 2 out of 5. I find the brush to be big and awkward, and kind of rough for applying makeup smoothly. My handle is loose as well as the reviewer's under mine. Not impressed overall :( Better luck, next time e.l.f! I usually love their products. :/
Clothes -Victoria's Secret - Dream Angels Demi Bra
haleyanna19 6/22/2011 4:31:00 PM
I love this bra. I randomly picked one up at the Semi-Annual sale this past weekend, and I couldn't be happier that I found it. I am a 38B, but with this sucker, I look like Pamela Anderson lol! I just went to wearing underwire about a year ago (since I am relatively small chested, I never wore an underwired bra, just wireless....) but now I couldn't go without an underwire. My boobs look SOOO much better in underwire!!! I paid 27 for this "on sale" (regularly 52 bucks!) and I bought two--one is light pink lace, and the other is turquoise lace w/a lighter blue around the top. I love them!
Mascara -E.L.F. - Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara
haleyanna19 6/12/2011 2:05:00 AM
SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS. I hated the cheap feeling of the wand and brush. The brush is wayyyy too harsh, and I couldn't get my eyelashes evenly because the wand was so awkward. Used it one and then chunked it. Spend your 3 bucks somewhere else! :)
Just bought this stuff today, but I am already in LOVE!!!! I find if I use my finger to kind of pat the eyeshadow transformer over my original eyeshadow it works the best. I love it though!!! DEFINITELY worth the 3$ you spend!!!!!!!!
WOW! I love this stuff. My skin is "fairest of them all" (Snow White reference! ;) ) and I sometimes find that even NC15 is too orange-y on me, hence why I went looking for a new makeup and found this gem! :) I have always loved cream makeups, but my mother insists that liquid looks the best on me, so I have just stuck w/liquids. I LOVED Prescriptives makeup (sadly it's discontinued :( ) but when they went out, I changed to MAC. I liked their cream makeup a lot, but found it got oily fast and ran out even faster. So, off to Wal-Mart to find a cheaper product! :) I ran across this for about 8 bucks here, and I was hesitant at first b/c I'm usually fairly oily, and this says it hydrates, so I figured I'd be an oil slick. Tried it out, smooth even coverage, covers my redness (I have rosacea), the few zits I get when I'm on my period, and anything else that pops up on my face!! A compact lasts me for about 3 months. I put this on, and then use either ELF's High Definition powder or Hard Candy's Hello Matte powder, and it looks amazing all day. No touch ups! I am in LOVE!!!!
Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Ruby Slipper
haleyanna19 6/9/2011 9:15:00 AM
LOVE these lucious liquid lipsticks!!!! I have this color, Brownie Points, Strawberry Lemonade, and Baby Lips, which I just got yesterday so I haven't tried it yet. These are fantastic, consistency of a gloss, yet color of a lipstick. I am NC15 and a sucker for darker lipsticks, so I made sure to snag this one. While the color payoff isn't as GREAT as I'd want it to be, I am satisfied for only one dollar. Stock up on these, theyre soooo worth it!
I am agreeing with the love/hate. I live in the south, where generally everyone is super friendly....unless you work at Ulta! Lol! Granted, not ALL of the assosciates are rude---but I'd say about 2 out of 5 are...and if you're running a business, you want ZERO out of five to be rude! Some associates will walk up and say "can I help you find anything?" and others will look you dead square in the eye and not offer any type of assistance whatsoever. The prices on drugstore brands are a little on the high side, I only buy drugstore from there if I DESPERATELY need it and I have been to all 4 walmarts in my area to make sure they're all out, too. Lol For instance, my CG foundation is about 7.50 at Walmart, and it's 8.99 at Ulta. Not much, but when youre a broke college student, it is! :) Anyway, I will leave my review w/a small story about Ulta. One of the managers at ours is Cruella de Vill herself!! Once, she was checking me out (after she hadn't greeted me or anything, just grabbed my stuff and started ringing!!), and someone came over the intercom and said "Tamara come to the salon for ewfiowjmwiof2" (I didnt catch the end part..I didn't need to since my name wasn't Tamara!) Tamara said to me, "what'd she say?!" I said "She said you needed to go to the salon" and then she said "well that helps me a LOT. what else did she say?" I said "I didnt catch the end of it." She then proceeded to say "Jesus Christ." IDK if she meant for me to hear it or not, but whatever. I went on my way. Then, on ANOTHER trip, I got that same Tamara (boy she was a peach!) checking me out at about 8:50 or so (our Ulta closes at 9) and two girls walked in and instead of saying "Welcome to Ulta!" which is what they usually say, Tamara said "we're closed. SORRY!" at TEN TILL NINE! I thought it was VERY rude and professional. If they're closed, LOCK THE DOORS! haha, anyway, I will get off of my soap box now. I have definitely had more negative experiences than positive, yet I still go back because they're always the first stores to have new products!
Sunscreen -Ocean Potion - FACE Potion Clear Zinc SPF 45
haleyanna19 5/21/2011 8:11:00 PM
Highly impressed! I usually wear Coppertone Faces Sensitive Skin, which is 8USD where I live, but decided to try this for 2USD instead. Works just as well, if not better than Coppertone Faces Sensitive Skin!!! It is soft, lasts a long time, and didn't make me any oilier than I usually am when I don't wear makeup. I skipped my moisturizer (I usually wear Yes to Tomatoes anti-blemish moisturizer, and it tends to be thick) and wore this outside. Let me tell you where I wore it--I was outside, in the 87 degree heat of the south, from 9:30 am to 2 pm, picking up wood and sticks. Yeah, I was sweating like a PIG! Lol but this stayed on ALL DAY!
Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
haleyanna19 5/17/2011 11:16:00 PM
THIS IS SO MESSY!!!!!! seriously.....I can't open it without 3/4 of the powder spilling out allllll over the lid. It is SO annoying, other than that, it works well. I'm gonna de-pot it and put it into something else...
Love this blush! Made my NC15 skin so warm and peachy. The box it's in is so cute! Will definitely repurchase. PS--I used the brush that it came with and got good results :)
