Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil - brown
georgiasweety 5/16/2011 12:26:00 AM
Amazing, long lasting eye liner! This completely rivals high end liners such as Urban Decay 24/7, Lancome waterproof & Clinique cream shapers. *I have not used this in my waterline, and have not worn contacts in 2 months so I cant comment on the negatives of this liner everyone else is experiencing.* The formula is completely creamy, and glides on like a dream. It holds up with tears, & hot weather. You can draw on your hand with this, then scrub it, and it still doesn't transfer or budge. The color is a rich, dark, coffee brown, and has a golden tint to it if you look up close. You can also see this golden undertone if you smudge it really quickly after applying. *Note, this does not look like the red/copper plastic end of the pencil, and is not as metallic as the lighter shades. I'm really impressed at its super pigmentation, and it doesn't go on waxy or streaky at all. Probably the best stay put drugstore liner I have ever tried, even better than my classic favorite Almay 24/7 - because this one is silky soft & glides on better. Mine were $7.99 at CVS which is not the best price for drugstore but they are worth every penny. I just love everything about these pencils, and highly recommend! I only wish they offered more colors!

Lip Gloss -New York Color - extreme lip glider lip gloss [DISCONTINUED]
georgiasweety 4/16/2011 1:35:00 AM
I love this lip gloss, it's extremely cheap & has the most perfect texture! This balm is slightly thick & a tiny bit sticky as another reviewer wrote. When you press your lips together they dont stick & when you run your tongue over your lips they feels as smooth as glass. There is hardly any color pay off, the color in the tube is not fully pigmented like that on your lips. You get a very sheer tinted micro- silver shimmer, glossy, look to your lips. I have Park Ave Pink & another light purple. If you want color, get a darker shade than planned or try a different lip gloss. I love the packaging on these, it is in an ultra slim soft plastic squeeze tube and the lid fits tight so no leaking. There is a plastic smooth end where the gloss comes out, and the product doesn't ooze out with this gloss, or come out too fast. What you squeeze is exactly what comes out, no more no less. There is the lightest fruity type scent of a faint watermelon (on Pink Ave Park at least) . I only taste it the first minute, after that I cant taste it. This feels moisturizing, its pretty long lasting, & just feels so good on the lips. If you like Clinique superbalms, Lancome juicy tubes, or MAC lipglass, this is the texture they SHOULD have, and is much more enjoyable than any of those! This is thick enough to last, but isn't fly trap sticky like those other glosses & it feels smooth. No color, but great lipgloss! I have never paid over $2.99 for these, usually they are on sale for $1.99. True to the name they really do "glide" on & give ultra shine. A great beginner lip gloss as well

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F75 Concealer brush
georgiasweety 2/28/2011 10:00:00 PM
I love this brush. It has flat synthetic bristles great for packing on concealer. The tip of the brush is a pointed/angled edge to really get in the corner areas of the face. The bristles hold a lot of product and give full coverage results when you pack. I had been using a MAC travel brush-194SE for my under eye concealer but its more for applying a sheer amount of product to a pimple. With the under eye area I use a lot of different concealers to hide my allergy circles, and this one did a great job and didn't cause any streaks or anything. Just a great brush all around, no shedding when I wash. On my first Sigma order I got 3 brushes. They gave me 4 brochures about their products, a free travel size brush, a cute drawstring bag! My order was place on a Friday night, and I received my box Monday! I am very impressed with their packing, their processing time, & shipping. Love their stuff!

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki (was SS197)
georgiasweety 2/28/2011 9:50:00 PM
LOVE this brush! The quality is amazing. It has super soft bristles and a nice thick handle. The bristles are very dense so it has thickness to it- to blend & buff liquid & powder products. I swore by my fingers to apply foundation before I tried this brush. I refuse to by expensive brushes name brand brushes ($30& up) for foundation when I can use my fingers with great results. This $16 brush has changed my mind about finger application. It's so nice not to have any mess on my fingers. This brush blends well enough that I dont have to go behind the brush application and blend with my fingers- the brush does it all!. A little goes a long way, and the size & length of the bristles are just fantastic. It's synthetic so no weird animal smell when you wash it. Not only are Sigma brushes amazingly priced their customer service is top notch. I ordered on a Friday night, and Monday I received my order. It came with 4 different brochures about their products, a beautiful sheer red draw string bag, and a free travel size makeup brush. That is super fast processing & shipping (regular priority mail) and just the fact I got a free brush when I only ordered 3 items. I love the brochures, and am glad they included them. This company will go far!

Moisturizers -MAC - Strobe Cream
georgiasweety 1/29/2011 2:35:00 PM
I love this product! I have been using this for years. I used this back when I was oily and extremely acne prone and now I'm combo and my skin stays pretty clear and it works for me. One of the only cream products that doesn't break me out! This is not only moisturizing, it sinks in, hydrates and doesn't sit on top of skin. It has minerals, antioxidants, green tea, & botanical ingredients to help the skin naturally. It improves your skin when you wear it. Besides being a fantastic moisturizer it is the ultimate glow cream. If you want a jennifer lopez type glow this it the product for you. It has iridescent illuminate-rs in it that make your skin look healthy, perked up, & radiant. If you like the look of liquid makeup highlighters, you will like this moisturizer. You can wear it under foundation or on top. Use it on your collar bone, your arms, legs, mix it with foundation. Dab it on your cheekbones only, etc. The uses for this product are endless. It does not feel greasy, and makeup wears well on top of it. This product is uni-sex and for all ages who want a beautiful glow. I have not tried the strobe liquid to compare but I love the cream. This is a must if you have dull skin & need a pick me up. Its nurturing to your skin & gives the most amazing glow. A must have! *This is NOT an obvious glittery disco ball cream, its subtle and uses micro fine luminous particles. I still use the strobe cream in the older packaging (solid white tube) so I am not sure if they have reformulated this in their newer white tube with black lid. Will update this once I contact mac and ask. Def worth getting a sample of at a MAC counter if you are not sure you want to spend the $30 on it. A little of this goes a long way. Loveeeee it!

Candles -Unlisted Brand - Slatkin & Co. Mint Chocolate
georgiasweety 1/13/2011 1:53:00 PM
This is a seasonal candle from Slatkin & Co. a brand sold at Bath & Body works. It comes in wallflowers, candles, scented oil, & room spray. It is very true to its name- Mint Chocolate. The wax itself is a lovely mint green in color, with a picture of green & white peppermint bark chocolate on the label. The mint is sweet & mild, and the 2 chocolates in this make it even sweeter. The description on the bottom says: Semi- sweet chocolate, Dark Cocoa and peppermint with vanilla cream and white chocolate. Whether you are burning it or sniffing the jar, it smells exactly the same at all times. You smell a pure mixture of the 2 fragrances. It never gets stronger on the chocolate note, or stronger on the mint. The chocolate balances out the mint beautifully in this candle because you cant quite tell what type of mint this is by sniffing. Bath & Body works Twisted Peppermint is straight up peppermint, with this fragrance its just a mild mint that isn't nauseating or over powering. I can't burn a lot of Slatkin & Co. candles because they are so strong & I get fragrance allergies, but this one is soft & enjoyable. I can burn this in a room with the door shut, and not get blown out of that room with strong fragrance. This is such a warm sweet scent, I wish they had it all year, its lovely & it burns clean. The wax is an exclusive blend of vegetable wax, and it has a lead-free wick. A tip for candle burners- let the candle burn all the way to the edges before blowing it out. This is how you prevent a hole from forming in your candles, with the sides still intact!

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Rohto Arctic Redness Relief Eye Drops
georgiasweety 1/4/2011 12:12:00 PM
Unlike any other eye drop I have ever tried. #1 Question does this burn? The answer for me is no. The second this product hits your eye, the menthol in it creates an intense cooling/tingling sensation that freaks you out, and makes you blink rapidly. You think, okay this is about to burn... but it never ends up burning or actually hurting. Whether it's a temperature change in your eye, or just a strong tingling, its not common with any eye product I have tried and is very startling. #2 Does this effectively whiten eyes? Yes! Odd enough the first minute your eyes become more red because of the sensation and blinking, but after that they clear up to a nice white. Not only does this whiten all day, the whitening with this product lasts about 3 days for me. Rohto Arctic is for strained, dry & red eyes. I thought because it said strained eyes it would be better for sensitive eyes & be gentle, but apparently its one of their strongest formulas. The lubricant in it works great, the redness relief is all day, it does feel very nice & cooling on strained eyes, so all of its claims are true. I love the little clear packaging and small round shaped bottle. You can smell the menthol if you squeeze the bottle. I am not sure how safe, or if its a good idea to intentionally put menthol in your eye, but these work & dont seem to bother my eyes. While Rohto is a new brand to me, their site says its been around since 1909 so that's why I took the risk with these menthol drops. I can honestly say these are much more effective than my usual Visine extra strength. Never tried the other versions of Rohto for reference..

Concealers -Sephora - Concealer palette
georgiasweety 11/14/2010 8:24:00 PM
This works great for me. After reading all of the bad reviews after purchasing I thought it was going to be dry and cakey but I have not had that problem. It is a very moist/creamy concealer. You dont have to dig with your brush, a touch of the brush onto the colors gives a ton of product. It blends well for me, and builds decently. It is not as full coverage as MUFE full cover and other popular concealers, but it does conceal. The only reason I purchased is because of the blue/green & purple colors. They both work fantastic for neutralizing dark circles, and highlighting creases such as around the mouth. I also highlight my cupids bow above my lips with the purple. I purposely have used this a few times without a drop of moisturizer or under eye cream on to see just how cakey it would be based on the reviews. I have had no problems with it being cakey. Maybe I have a fresher batch of product? But this works for me. I'm thinking because it only comes in fair-ish or "white" skintone shades, it can look cakey or maybe ashy on the average woman. I would advise anyone to try it out in store at the Sephora tester. I can even use this over foundation & powder for touch ups and it doesn't look cakey. For reference I use a full cover concealer, foundation, & mineral powder makeup which is a full coverage product in itself, and I can still use this on top to highlight without cakiness. This does last all day, but because it is one of my newer products I am testing it out midday & applying it in different ways over different products to get a feel for this concealer. I do not use concealer on pimples myself so I cant comment if its breaks acne prone skin out. I use this for shadowy/dark areas like my under eyes, creases & to highlight. It works great for this purpose. The two flesh tone colors are about nw20 & nw25-30 I would say. I was worried the blue/green would still show up under the flesh tones but it doesn't at all. The flesh colors go great on top of the purple & blue. I also can't comment on it looking cakey in wrinkles as some have. Again I use any under eye concealer in my inner eye corner, and directly below my eye. I never bring concealer out to the edges of my eye where the wrinkles are, usually all concealers will go into the creases if you do that and will look cakey. Like most people I am also not dark at the outer corner of my eye, so no point in applying it there. I bought this for the 2 corrector colors alone, and I am very happy. I'm sure MUFE and other brands make a better multi color concealer, but for the price and availability I am happy with this purchase. I like the circular compact and how its the size of a facial powder so it easily fits into a bag. A little goes a long way, & it comes with a brush. The brush works but it's tiny & I prefer to use my own flat concealer brush.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Snow Kissed Berry
georgiasweety 11/13/2010 10:09:00 PM
This is an adult version of a berry scent. The notes listed are "A festive blend of juniper berry, sparkling cranberry, amber and white musk". This does have similar notes to BBW "Dark Kiss" as everyone has said, but Dark Kiss is a lot stronger and more perfumey to me. Dark Kiss reminds me of Theirry Mugler's Angel complete with strong musk notes while this has a stronger berry emphasis but is mild in scent intensity compared to Dark Kiss. I couldn't detect which berry this was until I read the back label and saw it was cranberry. Do not be alarmed this is not a tart cranberry, but more of a sweet cranberry/mixed berry scent. The scents are perfectly blended and balanced in this. I like how vanilla wasn't used in this to create the "snow" part of its description. A unique blend of amber, juniper, and musk give it that warm, sweet "snow" that makes up the product's name. A child would like this as much as an adult. This gives a very good lather that fills up my tub like a bubble bath. The formula is not drying with every day use. This shower gel is a lot milder in scent compared to the stronger lotion. The matching body mist is the weakest of the 3 products for reference, and smells as much like alcohol as it does snow kissed berry. I love the scent, simple packaging, and the purple color. If you are one of those who didn't like the intensity of the juniper, but liked the scent otherwise- try the body wash. The body wash is more of a soft sweet berry and you really can't smell its other notes. The only downside to the body wash being mostly berry is, nothing sets it apart from a berry scent you can find at a drugstore.

A few years ago I quit purchasing the matching lotions & creams because they were always sticky and wouldn't absorb. I would say this has medium- to high scent level. The fragrance mist barely gives scent besides alcohol, and the body wash is low-med in scent compared to the lotion. I love the scent, simple packaging, and the purple color.

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
georgiasweety 11/4/2010 8:08:00 PM
I dont think this is special enough to be $40, but it is a great foundation. I am in between NC15 & NC20 & I use shade 117 I'm going to compare it to 2 popular foundations-MAC studio fix fluid & Estee Lauder DoubleWear at the end of my review. Pros: *I never see anyone mention this & its not described under the description on Sephora's site* but the box says it has an ingredient called Relipidium that moisturizes skin up to +46%. It feels like second skin! Super light weight, feels like a light lotion that absorbs quickly. You can take your time blending without it drying out, and one pump will cover your entire face. A little of this goes a long way! Hides wrinkles & doesn't highlight or settle in them like many foundations do. I dont think this is a glowy foundation, it appears matte on my skin and there is no micro shimmer or illuminators you can see with your eye up close. It doesn't look chalky or powdery but this does not have a glow to it like Carmindy or Revlon Photo Ready finish foundation for example. It reminds me of mineral foundation, even matte mineral foundation looks "dewy" or "fresh" but no shimmer in this foundation what-so-ever.The box says " The Sericite contained in HD foundation heightens the diffusion of light and intensifies the glow of the skin". This feels baby soft on skin, as if it had a setting powder built into it. I think the coverage is light-medium, buildable. Fantastic color selection from MUFE. None of these are extreme pink or yellow Cons: Does settle in pores, not in small ones but if you have large pores from acne marks, scars etc. It also highights dry spots. You will def need an exfoliated and/or moisturized face with this foundation . It does have a floral scent that you cant smell on your face but can smell when applying. No SPF. Redness does peak through midday if its hot or humid so you need to set it with a powder. update* I'm beginning to see breakouts on my cheeks, chin, & nose. I never break out on my cheeks usually its forehead or chin, but I've got bumps on both sides. I think its because of the 40% moisturizer ingredient this product has. Coverage comparison from highest to lowest: EL DW, MAC SSF, MUFE HD. MUFE HD looks better on wrinkles, but the other 2 are better at covering flaws such as acne, dark spots. MAC SSF & EL DW are more buildable coverage foundations. MUFE doesnt build as well, its more for good skin I would say. EL DW is the best at not transferring on clothes, or just rubbing off during the day, MAC SSF is next, and MUFE HD comes off the quickest, through out the day. Best color selection- MUFE HD. MAC SFF wins if you have large pores & dry patches. Both EL DW & MUFE HD can highlight dry spots & settle in pores. If you want something that will stay matte all day in rain, sweat, or heat- EL DW wins. EL DW & MAC SSF have SPF, MUFE HD doesnt. Who gets my vote? MAC SSF. For the price, the buildable coverage, no fragrance, SPF, light weight feel, & not settling into my acne scars on my cheeks, MAC wins for me. MUFE HD does not photograph any better for me than EL DW, OR MAC SSF, it does not cover better, it has the least coverage actually. EL DW is great too, but it does feel like you are wearing makeup, its thickness is its downfall. I am keeping EL DW & my MAC, but I will be returning MUFE HD. MUFE HD is the easiest to apply because it feels like a lotion not a foundation, but for the price it does nothing my current foundations don't already do. If you want the lightest non makeup feeling foundation this would be a great match for you. Very happy I tried, it's a great foundation, and I love the pump. MUFE HD $40- 1oz, EL DW $34 - 1oz, MAC SSF $26- 1oz..

Lotions/ Creams -Philosophy - Melting Marshmallow Body Lotion
georgiasweety 11/3/2010 7:27:00 PM
This only smells from a distance the first minute you apply it, after that you have to put it up to your face. It's highly fragrant in the tube. ( I got the mini kit not the full size) It squirts out looking thick like a cream, but its really nice and thin when you rub it in. It has a slick feel to it that is sticky only for a few seconds. It took under a minute to absorb. Its not hydrating, but it feels nice. It absorbs and feels a lot better than bath & body works lotions for example but its not as moisturizing as vaseline lotion. The scent smells like a light chocolate with marshmallow. To me its a malt chocolate with a hint of vanilla. When it dries down after a good 15 minutes you smell a sweet marshmallow. This has more vanilla in the chocolate than the matching 3n1, the chocolate also isn't as soured as in the 3n1. It smells so strong in the tube, but it is very light on the skin. Im surprised at how light this is. It's light enough to be unnoticeable, and not worth the money to me. Even with layering the body wash & lotion I can barely smell it, its almost undetectable. The packaging for the melting marshmallow mini kit is adorable! It features real pictures with glitter, and is shaped like a an A-frame cottage, with a gold ribbon for the handle. The scent & packaging is a great idea from Philosophy but I feel the scent was way off & the products only give off a decent smell in their containers not on the skin. The lipgloss has hardly any scent once applied. I dont like strong scents, but this is just too faint for the money. *please see my melting marshmallow 3 n 1 review & lipgloss review*

Lip Gloss -Philosophy - Melting Marshmallow Lip Shine
georgiasweety 11/3/2010 7:13:00 PM
I'm with the reviewer below me, it started off mildly scented but it faded within a minute to nothing, no scent, no flavor just gloss. I purchased online, and I know its a new product so it must be fresh. It's a slightly sticky, med/thick textured gloss. Lots of micro silver shimmer in a clear base. After having tried all of the Melting Marshmallow line this actually has the most vanilla marshmallow scent out of all the products but it still has that chocolate note to it. Its not a sweet milk chocolate, but its a soured, malt chocolate that isn't flattering in a lipgloss. This one doesn't really taste like anything at all, the formula is really lacking. compared to say the cinnabuns one this one is extremely weak in scent & flavor. Essence of Beauty & Lip smackers make a much better tasting & smelling marshmallow/vanilla lipgloss if you are looking for one. I got this in a set, the 3n1 box is beautiful with glitter. This isn't a must have even though marshmallow is my all time fav scent. I would pass it and look for a cheaper alternative like the above mentioned. Sample this first if you can!

Skincare - Body -Philosophy - Melting Marshmallow 3 n 1
georgiasweety 11/3/2010 7:01:00 PM
Not what I expected. I purchased on Sephora and they only described this scent as "melting marshmallow" I was thinking this would be an ultra sweet vanilla marshmallow scent, maybe toasted or with some other rich undertone. The bottle itself comes with a description on the label of Philosophy's idea of what a melting marshmallow smells like. It says: "When you think of melting marshmallows, picture toasted marshmallows over a crackling fire, or marshmallows melting in a cup of double rich hot cocoa, or just ooey gooey marshmallow cream coming out of a jar onto a spoon into your mouth, yum, yum" So basically this is a chocolate scented marshmallow product. It doesn't smell like marshmallow cream from a jar, or a toasted marshmallow, it just smells like a malted or slightly soured type chocolate. Its not horrible, but I would have never ordered this had I knew what it really smelled like. Like everyone on the bath & body board has already said, it smells a lot like Suave's seasonal Whipped Cocoa scent. For the money its not worth it, its not a unique or must have winter scent. It doesn't linger on my skin. If I had to pick between Philosophy's two 2010 winter marshmallow scents, I would go with Crispy Marshmallow Bars, only because it has a more marshmallow scent or vanilla scent vs the chocolate in this one. This one doesn't have the weird notes in it like Crispy marshmallow, but its completely light chocolate. How chocolately is this? If they were to re-label this product as "hot cocoa or hot chocolate" It would have fit the scent better than melting marshmallow. I think a teenager or kid would love this scent, but its not for me. Gives a light lather, light moisture. *For reference the lotion smells just like this, but the melting marshmallow lip gloss smells more vanilla & marsmallow-y but with a malted (soured) chocolate note that doesn't smell good as a lipgloss. *

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Crispy Marshmallow Bars 3-in-1 Shower Gel
georgiasweety 11/3/2010 6:41:00 PM
This smells like a warm vanilla with butter & caramel to me. Neither of the 2010 marshmallow scents from Philosophy (melting marshmallow & crispy marshmallow bars) really smell like marshmallow at all. From the bottle this smells like a generic vanilla with butter, more on the butter/caramel side vs the sweet side of vanilla. When you lather it smells the same as in the bottle. The only time it smells like sweet crispy marshmallow bars is when you have dried off after a shower. Like most body washes this one doesn't really scent your body, but it truly smelled like rice crispy treats once I had rinsed the product off. The downside to that is- its the faintest scent of rice crispy treats you only smell if you put your hand up to your nose. I buy scented body washes for the shower experience, this smells nothing like a marshmallow & it has a fake plasticy undertone to me, nothing a high end brand should have. I think Ive been spoiled by e-tailers because they are usually so spot on with their titles and scents. This suds up lightly, isn't greasy, & slightly moisturizes. I think a kid would really like this scent, but for the price & scent I will be returning. This is better than Philosophy's melting marshmallow, because that is straight up chocolate, but this is more sweet caramel vs sweet vanilla marshmallow.
