Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo

I tried this this morning as I ran out the door and...underwhelmed. At least it's cheap though. It did help a TINY bit, but the smell is awful, the packaging is hideous (to me) and I sprayed a pretty liberal amount, so I expected better results than what I got. Won't repurchase.

Shampoo -Frederic Fekkai - GLOSS Glossing Shampoo

I want this to work for me so bad! I looove the scent and how smooth it feels when I massage it into my hair, but my hair is far too fine and oily for this shampoo. This would work wonders on thicker, coarser hair though.

Bronzers -E.L.F. - Studio Golden Bronzer

This bronzer is amazing. I think I paid $3 for it. The only reason I didn't check buy again is because I don't love shimmery bronzers on myself. I'm very pale and prefer to use mattes to contour or add dimension to my face. This comes in a pan with four lovely colors and has great color payoff, a few swipes are very vibrant. I would definitely recommend this to someone who likes a shimmery, lightly bronzed glow.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Volume Waterproof
rated 3 of 5

I bought this in brown to try out a trick that I read about either in the latest issue of Allure or online. A "celebrity MUA" claimed that a lot of actresses wear black mascara on their top lashes and brown on their bottom lashes for a soft and eye color-enhancing effect. I'm not really sure if it does all that, and I can't really try it out soon because I use a colored mascara anyway on my top lashes. I don't know how well this would do on my top lashes, and it's a stretch to call this volumizing, but it really lengthens and separates my bottom lashes nicely, so I'll keep it around for that. I'm still coveting the newest Chanel mascara, Le Volume (it will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine), and would not repurchase this.

This hairspray certainly has good and bad qualities. I'm mostly underwhelmed by it though, and wouldn't purchase it again, so I'll just list a few of both pros and cons. PROS: -It doesn't make hair crunchy or stiff -It smells nice (to me) -It has a soft hold and brushes out easily CONS -It's not a strong enough hold for my fine hair -It stinks (to my boyfriend) That's about it.

Mascara -Chanel - Le Volume De Chanel
rated 5 of 5

Ok, so I've only used this once...but I am in love! I am one of those girls who are obsessed with eyelashes...especially falsies, and I love scanning red carpet photos or zooming in during movies and looking for fake eyelashes. One actress I'm thinking of in particular is Mila Kunis in the movie Ted. Her lashes were RIDICULOUS-ly awesome and I couldn't see a hint of falsies...so jealous. Anyway, now that I've tried this mascara, I'm convinced that this is what she used! I applied this Tuesday afternoon at my friend's apartment, and it was very wet and glossy, but didn't streak or run or smudge. Then I did what none of you should never, ever do; I slept in it. And Oh My God it looked ever more fabulous the next day! It made my lashes look super long and thick and unreal, with no flakes or clumps. I love this and will absolutely buy it as soon as my tax refund comes in, wiiing!

Blush -E.L.F. - Shimmering Facial Whip

If you're looking for a frosty-ish, buildable, beautiful pink highlighter/lid primer on the cheap, look no further! This product is fab and affordable, and looks beautiful on, if applied with a light hand. Definitely worth trying! May not look great on deeper skin tones.

Toners -Mario Badescu - Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater
rated 5 of 5
garstrieper 1/23/2013 4:55:00 PM

THIS PRODUCT IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND I WANT TO MARRY IT. Just kidding. Except not really. Anyway, I use this for EVERYTHING. It's got a wonderful, clean, refreshing scent, and feels misty and cool on the skin. I use it as a toner, I use it to "set" my makeup ( and no longer need powder!) I use it to annoy my friends and family by randomly shouting "Try this!" and then attacking them in the face with my spray bottle. The bottle is only $12, and has lasted me three whole months so far, which is impressive because I use this very liberally several times a day. It makes my skin look dewy, fresh, and awake, and is a great pick me up. Everyone should have this in their cabinet/fridge/purse.

Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Passion Tinted Lip Treatment

I don't know why I bought this...wait, yes I do. It's fab. Is it much better than Lip Smackers Dr. Pepper lip balm? No. Is it extremely over-priced? Yes. And yet, I keep coming back. I don't know if it's the balmy texture, or the subtly sweet taste, or the beautiful, light tint, but I keep buying this crap and I guess I'll keep on buying it until I find something even better.

Eyes -Sonia Kashuk - clear brow gel
rated 3 of 5

I was looking for a brow gel. This is a brow gel. That's about it. It works, but it doesn't do anything remarkable....it's better than an old toothbrush and hairspray, but not much so. I'm dying to try Anastasia's brow gel when I have more $$$

Moisturizers -Cerave - Renewing Lotion
rated 4 of 5
garstrieper 1/23/2013 4:45:00 PM

At $16, this is a bit steep for a drugstore product, but it works wonders! I guess I'm in the minority here, as I only use this on my face. It bugs me that it says "Ideal for the body" on it, because to me, it's ideal for facial skin, and doesn't do much for my kp on the back of my arms or legs. It does help breakouts heal super fast, and is keeping my blackheads in check, and reducing the amount of whiteheads I get.I use this every night after I wash and tone my face, and the huge container with a pump has lasted about 5 months and still seems over halfway full. Love it.

Moisturizers -Erno Laszlo - Active Phelityl Cream
rated 4 of 5
garstrieper 1/23/2013 4:35:00 PM

I got a generous sample of this from my best friend, and it's lasted me for several months, using less than a fourth of a pea size at night around my eyes and on dry patches. My skin is extremely oily in general, but I love a thick night moisturizer with a bit of slip to it. This feels silky and adds a nice sheen to my skin, I could never wear this underneath makeup, but I often pat a tiny amount over my cheek and brow bones to highlight those areas. I don't know if I would buy this, because I use it so little. I'm always afraid this will break me out if I used it all over my T Zone, and the only time I apply it to my whole face is when I'm about to color my hair. Overall, though, this is lovely and I'd definitely recommend to people with very dry skin and no acne problems.

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Persagel 10
rated 4 of 5
garstrieper 6/1/2012 9:23:00 AM

I usually have very clear skin with minimal breakouts. Well, last week, my skin had a total freakout, and I had 6 unconcealable blemishes that really stressed me out. My hormones shouldn't be wildly fluctuating, as I'm on continual birth control, and I wasn't under any more stress than usual, and I'm diligent about washing my face, so it definitely took me by surprise. I tried a whole arsenal of products on the acne; Duac, medicated wash, argan oil, I even took a week's worth of Doryx. All of these things helped a bit, but nothing was clearing my face up fast enough. So, on a friend's recommendation, I went out and purchased Persagel 10, and it has made all the difference! I wash my face with Cerave foaming facial wash, apply Cerave AM in the morning and then my makeup. I wash my face again at night, apply a thin layer of persagel, let it dry for 10 minutes or so, and apply Cerave PM all over my face. I've only been doing this for two days, and all of my blemishes have vanished! This is a great product, and I will repurchase.

This crap. Phew! Everyone wore this in 7th and 8th grade, and it's sickeningly sweet and cloying. Would never purchase, and don't want to smell it on anyone!

Moisturizers -Lancome - Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 15 Cream
rated 2 of 5
garstrieper 4/4/2012 2:58:00 PM

I used to work for Lancome, and got this for my gratis once. Having only ever used the likes Neutrogena and Aveeno sunscreen on my face, I was desperately in need of an everyday matte sunscreen for under makeup that wouldn't break me out or leave my face an oil slick. This was just OK. It's too highly perfumed for my skin, and is slightly irritating, although it does have a nice texture and is better than the two aforementioned brands. If you need a matte, every day sunscreen, spring for the Obagi SPF 50. It's so worth it.
