Misc Beauty Tools -BeneFit Cosmetics - Eyelash Curler
fphoenix2k 2/6/2004 5:12:00 PM
I went to a friend's house the other day, and she had just got Benefit's eyelash curler. I watched her use it with interest, as she was constantly complaining how the curler pinched her eyelids and she had to press _REALLY_ hard to get a half decent curl that immediately goes away when you wet your eyelashes. I tried them and hell, they almost pulled out my eyelashes!! They don't have a very good grip and as a result hold on to your eyelashes as they curl and pratically yank them out. I usually love all things Benefit, but this is a big let-down that I certainly won't consider purchasing.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel

Who said this smellt horrible or it was a scent for the oldies??? My mum bought me the 25ml version two weeks ago and I have adored it ever since. It is a bit strong when you first put it on, but after about 30 minutes it transforms into this yummy vanilla/chocolate smell. Angel is not for everyday use, and I doubt it will be particularly suitable in the summer so we'll see; but seeing as it's now the winter, it is perfect. One spritz on my wrists can last the whole day and after accidentally getting some on my coat, it has been smelling like vanilla for over a week. I also love the shape of the bottle so I'll get a refillable version next time. Also, if anyone has any information at all as to where I can find a refillable Angel Miniature, please page me, I'll be eternally grateful :)

Why people even go anywhere near this "scent" is a complete mystery to me. I DESPISE this stuff. Just because Monroe wore it doesn't mean us humans have to walk around smelling like shrivelled old ladies. This is a classic, timeless scent..._HOW_???!!!

Lip Treatments -Carmex - LipBalm
fphoenix2k 1/14/2004 9:43:00 AM
The only things I like about this lip balm are its cheapness and the tingling sensation it gives my lips. It is quite good for a lip product. However, I really cannot say much for the taste. Will probably buy this again, though, when I am in a let's-spend-money-on-lip-products mood.

Lip Gloss -BeneFit Cosmetics - Lipgloss in Kiss Me

This smells lovely and is a beautiful colour. I really like the tube as it's small and cute. I didn't buy this, but I think it might have cost £10.50. It's not _THAT_ moisturising (certainly no match for Clinique's Superbalm)but doesn't dry out my lips either so I will consider repurchasing if I have spare cash on hand.

Treatments -BeneFit Cosmetics - Boo Boo Zap

Dries out oily patches, useful to an extent. BUT, when I applied it to my forehead, it was so runny and the applicator thingy wasn't that good that it went in my eye...OWWWWWW!!! Another thing, you get white residues in the tube after about a day. Definitely won't be seen dead buying one of these again.

Lip Treatments -Lancome - VENEFIT Levres (Moisturizing Lip Nectar SPF8)
fphoenix2k 12/2/2003 1:36:00 PM
Gorgeous!! Smells of grapes and is totally lovely, and it leaves my lips soft and with a subtle shine. Doesn't stay on for very long, though, and the tube is quite difficult to squeeze (hence 4 out of 5). Cost me £11.50 and I'm not sure whether I'l repurchase as it doesn't really stand out a mile and the packaging is quite average.

Lips -Vaseline - Vaseline

I don't really like this much as a lip balm. It smells a bit strange and tastes weird. Doesn't stay on for very long. I use this on my eyebrows before I go to bed to make sure they don't get too messed up when I wake up, and that's just about its only use.

Lip Treatments -Clinique - Superbalm Lip Treatment
fphoenix2k 11/27/2003 1:39:00 PM
Yup, I STILL love this balm ever since my mother bought me my first one 6 years ago as I had very dry lips. I've always loved lip balms/glosses and have bought almost every single brand over the years, but I've always made sure I had a tube of Superbalm as it really is that good! It moisturises brilliantly, is shiny, has no nasty plastic smell/taste, unlike some glosses/ I've tried. And over time it really does actually improve the condition of your lips; it makes them more cushioned and plumper as it infuses your lips with moisture. I stopped using this for a while and my lips became somewhat flakey, but I've since started again and they're back to the way they used to be - soft and luscious. At £9 for 7ml this isn't the cheapest lip product, but it certainly is worth the money. I have been using this for 6 years, and I will certainly continue to buy and use it as long as it's still available!

Lip Gloss -Bourjois - Effet 3 D Lipgloss
fphoenix2k 11/25/2003 12:32:00 PM
Hmm. I think I may be in the minority. I guess this lip gloss smells nice, but is way too sticky for my liking. It doesn't moisturise either, and I don't like lip glosses that don't smooth my lips.

Lip Gloss -Yves Saint Laurent - Smoothing Lip Gloss
fphoenix2k 11/23/2003 1:35:00 PM
Hmm... So much for the HG lip gloss that I thought I had found. Although this leaves my lips silky smooth afterwards, A: I do not like the smell nor the taste; and B: this makes my lips feel tight and a bit uncomfortable when I put it on. I've even had a slight allergic reaction to this where pink itchy and sore lumps appeared on my lips. It's definitely going back to where it came from...

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Glossimer
fphoenix2k 11/18/2003 12:15:00 PM
This does not appear to moisturise!! I was given a glossimer by a friend and it leaked so much that I chucked it away. Also, my lips did not feel very comfortable afterwards, but I think that might have been due to the fact that my friend had used it before me and she could have had a lip infection (is there such a thing?) or something. I will only give the glossimer 2 out of 5 until I find more information about it. Maybe I should pay House of Fraser's Chanel counter a visit and ask the nice Chanel ladies...

Lip Gloss -Stila - Lip glaze
fphoenix2k 11/18/2003 12:12:00 PM
What is this???? £18 for 1.5g??? That's a flipping £120 for a 10g lip gloss!!! There's no _WAY_ in hell that I am even going to CONSIDER one of these in the near future. I don't understand why anyone would ever go near one of these with cold, hard cash or a plastic card. Admittedly they smell nice, but the absolutely ridiculous price totally offsets any benefits this gloss has (it doesn't protect for that amout of money either!!) Besides, the packaging and the product itself do not actually stand out a mile as there are plenty of small lip gloss pens with brushes, which I don't like, and I don't care much for the Stila brand anyway.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dr Feelgood
fphoenix2k 11/13/2003 12:27:00 PM
Wow! I've had Dr Feelgood since May and it's still going!! I use it almost every day and there's still loads of the stuff left!! This is extremely good value for money, although the sponge that comes with it tends to get fatter with use... don't know if that's a bad thing...

Lip Gloss -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint Lip Balm
fphoenix2k 11/13/2003 12:24:00 PM
I love this product! It smells like roses and leaves a pretty, pink stain on my lips. Since my lips are naturally quite pink it simply enhances the way they look and gives them a healthy feel. I only need to dab a slight amount on to my lips each time. The Lip Balm pot itself is cute like all BeneFit products. Although being small, the balm lasts for ages (had mine for over 4 months and there's still more then enough to last at least a year) and I only need a tiny bit each time (but if you have paler lips, you may need to use more). This is a must for any lip balm/lip gloss addict (e.g. ME) and would look adorable in any bag.
