Lotions/ Creams -Sephora - Vanilla Cupcake Body Butter
rated 2 of 5

Yuck! Vanilla scented plastic. :( It reminds me of vanilla play dough or something else very unnatural. I usually love anything vanilla, but this was just terribly wrong. I gave it 2 lippies because it really is an excellent moisturizer, but that's about the only thing it has going for it. And it's just too pricey at $16 for something that doesn't smell great. Come to think of it, most of Sephora's body butters have that strange plastic smell to them except for the apple pomegrantate, which I love. Definitely try before you buy!

Lotions/ Creams -Sephora - apple pomegranate body butter
rated 5 of 5

First of all, this is definitely not for those of you who like light scents. This stuff fragrances the entire upstairs of my house when I use it. I'm not kidding! And the scent lasts almost all day, which is a good thing because I really like it. It's a great fall scent, more apple than pomegranate. It has some good ingredients in it, and it has the thickest, yummiest texture. Unfortunately, I go through body butter like water, and this stuff is just too pricey for me to purchase all the time. I believe it was about $16. I do really like this, though, and will probably splurge from time to time when I feel like treating myself. :)

Lotions/ Creams -Ulta - black cherry body lotion
rated 5 of 5
forgetfuljones 8/16/2009 5:50:00 PM

This smells really good! Cherry scents usually smell artificial and gross, but this stuff reminds me of Dannon cherry yogurt. Very yummy! And the scent isn't overpowering, which is nice because it doesn't compete with perfume. It does a decent job of moisturizing, and you can get these pretty cheap when Ulta has sales. I would definitely repurchase this!

Deodorants -Secret - Clinical Strength
rated 3 of 5

I have really mixed feelings about this. The first time I used it, it worked great. It was a really, really hot day with lots of humidity. I used it the next day under similar weather conditions, and it failed me. I've been using this for about two months now, and that's kind of how it's been the whole time. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Even on days when it does work, it seems like there's a 6 hour limit. It might get me through the work day, but I'd have to come home, shower, and re-apply. Part of it could be hormonal on my part, but I'll never know. It seems like it's been that way for other people too. This works better than my old Degree, but I'm still not impressed. This was very expensive, IMO. I think I paid around $11 at Walgreens, which is a lot for such little product you get. Maybe this will work better in the colder months.

Lotions/ Creams -Ulta - citrus verbena body lotion
rated 4 of 5
forgetfuljones 8/15/2009 4:43:00 PM

I really like this. It's a nice tart citrus scent with lots of lime. It's kind of greasy, but I like that. I have dry skin even in the summer. It has some decent ingredients in it, and it does a good job of moisturizing. The scent lasts for a few hours. It's reasonably priced, and you can stock up on these when they're on sale. I think I would probably repurchase this. :)

Lipstick -Lacura - Beauty lipstick in 100 Coral
rated 4 of 5
forgetfuljones 8/9/2009 11:27:00 AM

This is pretty good stuff for any price range. I'm really not a lipstick person because they can be so drying, but this stuff was so creamy and moist and stayed that way for hours. I agree the color is definitely NOT coral. Thank goodness. Coral gives me visions of little old ladies. lol Anyway, this is a very neutral pink/brown that would probably work on most people. Once on, this actually reminds me of Clinique's popular bamboo pink but actually prettier. And you can't beat the price at 3.99. I'm really impressed with this line. I can't wait to try more stuff!

Gels/Soaps -Ulta - Key Lime Kooler
rated 4 of 5
forgetfuljones 8/9/2009 11:17:00 AM

Mmm...this smells really yummy! It reminds me of a melted Flavor Ice. I don't know how they did it, but it really does smell like a popsicle. It almost even smells cold to me. lol Anyway, this stuff is nice and creamy and doesn't dry out my skin. I only gave it a 4.0 because it really didn't work all that great for a bubble bath. The bubbles were very sparse and fizzed out once I turned the water off. I'm thinking it's probably because of the moisturizers. Not a big deal because it's fabulous as a shower gel and will last a very long time. I love the pump bottle, and this stuff was a bargain on sale at 6.99. I'm not adventurous enough to use it as a shampoo since I have very processed blond hair. I might give it a try if I ever need a clarifying shampoo because of product buildup. I'll update if I do. :)

Lotions/ Creams -Tree Hut - Tahitian Grass body butter
rated 5 of 5
forgetfuljones 8/3/2009 8:33:00 PM

I believe this is a fairly new scent, and it's not at all what I expected. I really don't care for grassy or "green" scents, and this one was neither. It has a nice, light, fairly sweet scent. I really can't describe it other than it reminds me of the beach. As with other Tree Hut products, the quality is excellent. It's loaded with good stuff and is very reasonably priced. I believe I paid right around $6 for this at Wal-Mart. That's not bad considering Body Shop butters are around $20, which I think this is a knock-off of.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
rated 5 of 5
forgetfuljones 7/30/2009 11:40:00 PM

I never thought I'd have such love for a top coat, but I really do! This stuff is amazing. Let me start off by saying that I have very little skill when it comes to doing my nails, but this makes my toes look flawless. Every time I use it I feel like I just got a professional pedicure. :) My polish lasts nearly two weeks when I use this stuff. I usually end up redoing them only because I'm sick of the color, not because it's chipped. I also love that it leaves the polish with that glossy, just painted look. And it really does dry quickly too. I got mine at CVS for around $8. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Fragrances -Donna Karan - Be Delicious Fresh Blossom EDP
rated 3 of 5
forgetfuljones 2/28/2009 4:46:00 PM

I saw this on Ulta.com and ordered it without even testing it, which was probably a mistake. I always get too excited whenever I see grapefruit in anything. :) It's an okay fragrance, but it just wasn't as sweet as I was expecting. The initial burst is pure grapefruit sweetness, but that only lasts about 10 seconds. It then turns into a flowery clean scent that kind of reminds me of a cross between Juicy Couture and Cool Water. It's a lot sharper and more floral than I thought it would be. I don't smell that signature apple at all. :( As I said, it's alright, but it's definitely not my favorite. This is just a run-of-the-mill scent, but I have a feeling that most people will probably like it. It's pretty non-offensive, and it lasts a lot longer than I thought it would (about 4 hours). The pretty pink bottle looks good on my dresser, though. I'll probably use this up, but I don't think I'd ever buy it again. NOTES: A blend of sparkling grapefruit, casses and sun-kissed apricot meets a blooming floral heart of sheer muguet and petally rose, wrapped in luminous jasmine. Finish the apple sensation with a body lingering base of blond woods and smooth skin accords.

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Total Moisture Body Lotion - Clean Feeling with Pure Oat Extract + Stratys 3
rated 2 of 5
forgetfuljones 11/10/2008 10:11:00 AM

I really hate to be the only downer here, but this really wasn't that great. I had high hopes for it. It was cheap, smells great, and had really good ingredients in it. Unfortunately, it just doesn't live up to its name. It takes FOREVER to sink in, and when it does, it really doesn't feel like I put anything on. I'll keep this around to use after washing my hands, but I won't be using it anywhere else.

Lip Gloss -Nivea - A Kiss Of Shine Pink Glossy Lip Care
rated 5 of 5
forgetfuljones 11/2/2008 4:08:00 PM

I love this gloss! It's a gorgeous color, very moisturizing, and it never feels sticky. It's not highly pigmented, but it's a really pretty rosey color that does make your lips pop. It lasts a good while, and the scent/taste is nice. I got this for under $4 at Walgreens, and I'm thinking about going back and getting the other colors. Highly recommended!

Lip Treatments -Jane - Be Pure Mineral Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
forgetfuljones 9/12/2008 11:37:00 PM

I would give this product a rating of 10 if I could, and I'm usually never impressed with lip products. This is usually where I'm picky. This stuff is amazing. I've been looking for a TRUE tinted lip balm, and this is it. Tinted lip balms are usually too much like a lipstick, or they're not pigmented enough, but this one is perfect. I have this in pink quartz. It looks kind of hot pink in the tube, but it's a really nice rosey shade on the lips. I have problem lips, and it leaves them so soft and smooth, and the smell and taste is very yummy. It's kind of a vanilla/cocoa scent. I'm tempted to try every shade. These are only 3.99, so I don't see why I couldn't. :)

Shampoo -Organix - Coconut Milk Shampoo
rated 2 of 5
forgetfuljones 9/7/2008 6:23:00 PM

This is probably one of the yummiest shampoos out there, so it's too bad it really doesn't work that well. It seems to have pretty decent ingredients, but it's still too harsh. My hair was a dried out, tangled mess after this. I have long, highlighted hair that's in good condition, but this was just awful. Cheap price too. Maybe it would work better on somebody with virgin hair. Not sure.

Treatments -Organix - Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum
rated 3 of 5
forgetfuljones 9/6/2008 4:29:00 PM

This is really decent stuff for a drugstore brand. It makes my hair nice and soft after I blow dry. Unfortunately, my hair seems to lose its luster when I use this faster than it does with other products, so I had to keep switching around. I stashed my bottle at my mom's house and use it whenever I visit, which seems to work just fine. If I used it more often it would leave my hair kind of dry. I think I'm just spoiled with all the other products I have in my beauty arsenal, but I can see why other people really like this. Oh, and it smells really, really good. :)
