Polishes -Zoya - Ki
rated 4 of 5
floofinator 8/13/2008 1:17:00 PM

Ki is a pretty metallic purple that looks green in some lighting, and dark blue in others. The finish does show brush strokes, and even after using a ridge filler, you can see some of the ridges showing through. The color chipped the second day, but I'm not following Zoya's color lock system, so perhaps using their system would help the polish last a little longer; nothing a second coat of polish and top coat can't fix, though. There was minor bubbling of the polish, but this happens in all Zoya polishes...if sufficient time is giving in between coats to dry, you shouldn't have this problem.

Polishes -OPI - OHare and Nails Look Great
rated 2 of 5
floofinator 8/13/2008 12:51:00 PM

This is one of my first reds ever...it's a gorgeous medium/brighter red and it looked great with my light Asian skin tone, but it chipped like crazy on the second day. I used Stickey base coat and Super Shiney top coat, which work great with all my other polishes including other OPIs, but for some reason O'Hare still had chips all along the tip. I've worn this colour a few times and every time, there were chips on the second day. Very disappointed, because this is a gorgeous colour.

Polishes -Zoya - Yasmeen
rated 4 of 5
floofinator 8/4/2008 3:42:00 PM

Yasmeen was my very first dark purple polish and it got me going on a dark purple crazy! This is a very beautiful shimmery, deep, warm purple. Under some lighting it looks almost black but under sunlight the color is absolutely gorgeous. The polish bubbled quite a bit in some places even after applying thin coats; it's probably because Zoya polishes are Big 3 Free. Yasmeen applied kind of funny and the first coat was a bit streaky (the polish application went from full-on color polish to practically nothing near the tips...maybe it's the brush or my base coat??) but after two coats you couldn't see brush strokes or streaks. I did get a minor chip on the third day, but I repaired it with just a little more polish and it never chipped again. Tip wear was minimal, and I think if I didn't take off the polish after 5 days, my manicure would've lasted for over a week. Overall, great polish. I wish it applied as smoothly as OPI polishes do for me though, but I will definitely repurchase.

This is a gorgeous, deep, shimmery red. It was my first red polish and it's gotten me on a red craze! It lasts forever and the color is just unbelievably pretty. I've gotten tons of compliments on this...will definitely repurchase!

Top/Base Coats -Creative Nail Design - Super Shiney high gloss top coat
rated 5 of 5
floofinator 7/5/2008 4:18:00 PM

This is probably one of the best top coats I've ever used. It's true it takes forever to dry completely, but I use OPI's Drip Dry drops and it dries within minutes. The gloss this top coat gives is just unbelievable!! With other top coats, I find that within a few days the gloss begins to fade, but not with Super Shiney!! This top coat gives my nails a glossy finish that lasts even to the last day before I take off the color with nail polish remover. I use this in conjunction with Stickey, OPI ridge filler, and OPI color and a typical manicure lasts over 7 days without major chipping. I just took off my 16-day manicure (was too busy to do my nails the past week) and there was only one major chip on the bottom of my thumb and noticeable wear at the edges of my nails...other than that, everything was still in tact! The brush isn't the best as it's not like OPI's pro-wide brushes, but still, the product applies and spreads evenly on nails...highly recommended and this is my new HG top coat!

Top/Base Coats -Creative Nail Design - Stickey -Base Coat
rated 4 of 5
floofinator 7/5/2008 4:12:00 PM

This is my new HG base coat--I'm looking no further for another base coat! Stickey applies evenly and easily... it's true that it never feels like it's dry enough to paint over, but I usually just let it sit 2 minutes and I paint the colour over right away without problems. I use this with the Super Shiney top coat, OPI ridge filler and OPI polishes and my manicures can last well over a week before any major chips happen (usually there are tiny chips at the nail edge but they're not that noticeable because they become paralell with the nail edge). It definitely clings onto polish and prevents chipping and peeling. I took one lippie off because I'm not sure how much actual "protection" it provides nails...my nails still turn slightly yellow after wearing red polish for 10 days. Maybe I shouldn't even have red polish on for 10 days, I don't know. It's a great product nonetheless and I will definitely buy again!

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Body Butter
rated 5 of 5
floofinator 6/6/2008 7:15:00 PM

I'm on my second tub of this body butter, I am SO glad TBS decided to make it a part of their permanent collection! (It was limited edition when I first bought it). The scent may be a little strong at the beginning but you get used to it and it really is a pleasant smell...it's not floral nor fruity...It feels like it could pass for a baby powder scent! The pink color of the body butter is also very nice, and the texture of the lotion is smooth and thick. I really dislike watery body moisturizers. This moisturizer is GREAT for winters and really dry weather. I've been using it for the scars that an allergic reaction (hives?) left behind and it's faded it quite nicely. I will definitely purchase again and again.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Power
rated 4 of 5
floofinator 6/4/2008 7:16:00 PM

This is probably the best mascara I've tried so far and probably the only one I will continue to purchase. It holds a curl nicely, and doesn't clump. It is a little on the liquidy side, so give it time and make sure it is completely dry before you blink down hard...otherwise it'll leave a black mark under your eyes. It lengthens slightly, thickens, and separates lashes. It stays on for at least 12 hours without smudging. I wore this mascara on the plane, slept on the plane, put eye drops in, took contacts out...mascara was still undisturbed after 12 hours. No mascara I've tried has ever endured a flight without smudging/running before. It was difficult to get used to the removal at first as even Take the Day off doesn't take it all off...the better way to do so is to soak a face cloth with very warm water, and place over your closed eyes for about 10 seconds, pressing on your lashes to get the water to soak your lashes. Then, wipe down gently and repeat. This should get most of the flakes off. Next, use your facial cleaner and make sure you get the rest off...I use Lush's Coalface soap and it takes out everything effortlessly. I took one lippy off because it could definitely do a much better job lengthening and thickening, but overall it's a great mascara!

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Lemony Flutter
rated 3 of 5
floofinator 12/16/2007 2:10:00 AM

As mentioned before by a previous reviewer, I found the lemon scent to be a bit too synthetic and slightly "off". The product itself was very thick and left my fingers really, really greasy. That is the reason why I only use it at night. Also, I didn't notice much difference after using this...maybe it's because my cuticles aren't dry/cracked/damaged enough in the first place? Unfortunately, I wasn't wowed by this product and still have 80% of a pot left so I will not repurchase.

Masks -LUSH - Cupcake Mask
rated 3 of 5
floofinator 12/16/2007 2:07:00 AM

It looked good (although it was brown it reminded me of brownie batter) and smelled good, but it was a pain to put on my face (consistency WAY too thick!) and it didn't do much for my skin. The product expired super quickly and I ended up having to throw out at least 1/3 of it away because I couldn't use it in time. I prefer Mask of Magnaminty over this...it's way easier to put on and has given me amazing results!

Masks -LUSH - Mask of Magnaminty
rated 5 of 5
floofinator 12/16/2007 1:55:00 AM

Mask of Magnaminty is a facial treatment that is supposed toclean out pores and gently exfoliate your skin. I've been using this for two weeks now and it's definitely doing what it's supposed to. The mask comes in a classic LUSH tub, which I have no problems with (I know dipping your finger in there may be unsanitary...but it's not a big deal for me) and the product itself smells like mint chocolate chip ice cream to me, except a lot mintier. Some may disagree, but that's exactly what it reminded me of...and it LOOKS like it too. Peppermint oil and China clay are two things that make up the green mask and the little specks of black are aduki beans, which gently exfoliate your skin and helps take out the dirt in your pores. The consistency is perfect, and I have no problems with application. I make sure I evenly cover my entire face, and then I leave it on for around 30 minutes until it turns a darker green and is dry/crumbly. You will feel your face tingle and for a minute or two you may feel that the tingliness is TOO strong...like it's going to burn your face. Don't panic! It will slowly diminish to a soothing, cooling sensation. After the mask is dry I go to the sink, and use warm water to slowly and gently wash the mask off in circular motion (that's where the exfoliation comes in). It takes awhile to get the mask off since it comes off in chunks if you don't use enough water and it's quite "sticky". But I have fun exfoliating with the semi-soft aduki beans. After all of the product has been washed off, my skin feels extremely smooth and soft. It literally glows after using this mask. I usually use it before bed, so then I put on some Body Shop vitamin E face cream and go to sleep and next morning I'll look amazing. I've definitely noticed that my blackheads have cleared up quite a bit. I have normal/combo skin (oily in T-zone only) and have no problems with acne or sensitivity to products. I use this once every 1-2 days but I don't recommend this for those who have sensitive skin. I can see this working very well for those who have an issue with acne, though. The peppermint works really, really well. Ever since I've used this I haven't even had the sign of a blemish show up yet and my skin is looking better than ever! A little mask goes a long way...I suggest getting the smaller size as the shelf life is only 4 months. I got the larger size because a friend works at LUSH and got it with her staff discount...I'm using it frequently so none of it goes to waste (ie. expiring). I HIGHLY recommend this product!

Hair Styling Tools -Farouk CHI - Chi Ceramic Flat Iron by Farouk
rated 4 of 5
floofinator 12/2/2007 1:59:00 PM

I've only had this for a couple of days but let's just say that VERY few products (whether they are tools, makeup, styling products, etc) work for me the first time...and this was one of them! I have coarse, rebellious Asian hair that is naturally straight but the ends of my hair flips out a little when my hair is mid length and it drives me nuts. Blow drying won't take it out, and a round brush does a horrible job. I bought a LE pink CHI flat iron on eBay for $80 and I love it! It does get very hot, but not so hot that I feel like it's going to burn my hair. The past flat irons I've had never got hot enough and did nothing for my hair. This iron only has a heat setting at 410 F so beware! I had no issues with the heat though; it straightened my hair perfectly and left it feeling smooth and silky and the shine was amazing!! I did get a few flyaways but a finishing product should take care of those easily. The packaging and iron itself do look a little cheap for the price, but don't judge a book by its cover, right? This iron works very well and for the Canadians out there who are freaking out because the instructions say "In Canada - Not for Household Use" don't worry too much about it, it will function properly...not sure why it says that but there are tons of Canadians out there who use this and other CHI products with the same warning anyway. IF this ever breaks I would consider getting it again...it does what it's supposed to and I just love the shine and softness it gives my hair!! I definitely recommend this product

Liquid -Clinique - Perfectly Real Makeup
rated 4 of 5
floofinator 10/17/2007 1:01:00 AM

I've only ever used Maybelline Wonder Finish and L'Oreal Cashmere Perfect before and this is the best out of the three I've used. This foundation IS pretty thick, but application is easy and the product blends in smoothly and wonderfully. With the drugstore foundations that I've used, although I've tried a couple of shades, none of them seemed to blend in well enough...usually I'm left with faint "borderlines" where my foundation ends (I only apply foundation to cover undereye circles and blemishes). With this Clinique foundation, it blends in smoothly and leaves no border line! I would say the coverage is medium--although I wear this over concealer over, say, a blemish/scar, you can still faintly see the scar underneath. I put on makeup at around 7 AM and take it off at around 10 PM and although it doesn't last ALL DAY at the end of the day most of it is still there (stays well under my eyes) Overall, this is a great product. I can see a bottle lasting me for around 4-5 months at least seeing how I don't use that much per day, and although I know it's not the best foundation out there it's still a pretty good product. I'd definitely buy again!

Treatments -Clinique - Acne Sol. Emergency Lotion
rated 3 of 5
floofinator 10/1/2007 7:43:00 PM

I decided to try this product after reading all the great reviews here. It's not available here in Canada so I had to hunt it down online to purchase it. I had great expectations for it and the results were disappointing. This product really did NOTHING for me...it works like any other spot treatments I've tried. I feel a slight tingle where I applied it but that's about it...the pimple continues to grow the next day. I only have the occasional pimple and don't use this very often so I doubt I will be buying this again.
