Hair Styling Tools -Babyliss - Babyliss Nano Titanium Hair Dryer + Babyliss Diffuser
rated 3 of 5

The reviewer below got this right. It is for straightening only. Its is very powerful. It blows soo much air. In fact mine didn't even come with a diffuser, so maybe babyliss realized this too. For straightening it is great. It has two heat and 2 speed setting and a cool shot button you hold down while it is on to work. The cool shot is the weakest link here, seems to frizz me up more, rather than finish a style. But for the hot settings its great.Dries my thick coarse almost waist length hair in 7-10 mins. It dries it completely too. I might actually believe this one is not b-sing and is actually using infared. Even on the hottest temp and highest speed doesn't leave my hair fried, or fried looking. It $70, so it's midrange. It is tourmaline ionic. Update: Months later. It blows too hard. 1900 watts is a bit much if hair is damaged. It;s not versatile-it only straightens.

Conditioner -ENJOY - Luxury conditioner

I've been thru most of the Enjoy conditioner now and this is the winner. Nothing makes my coarse, colored, frizzy hair chill out like this. Hair is made incredibly soft even if you just leave it on 2 mins. It seems hair will just take in the max amount of moisture. It gave me some volume too. This one smells like coconut, but not overwhelmingly so.Its pricey $25 for 10oz but worth it.

Shampoo -ENJOY - Sulfate-Free Hydrating Shampoo
rated 5 of 5

This is the best shampoo. It really doesn't strip color. They are not kidding. I even have a demi in, and with this it stays wonderfully intact. It's almost like a conditioner, very thick and moisturising, but it will get the massive amounts of protectants and products I use out no problem. Plus it smells peachy. Whats not to love?

Shampoo -Kerastase - Bain Oleo-Curl
rated 5 of 5

I really like this shampoo. On the downside, it has amodimethicone in it, but I have no buildup at all. I even used it a week straight and my hair never felt coated. Its the most thick concentrated shampoo I have ever felt. A bottle will last forever. It is $34, so it should last a while for that price, you know. I have tried most every curl line out there, and I find this actually does encourage curl. Pretty pleased with its ability to clean out the products I use. It smells nice and floral-y and it does linger. HG shampoo for me.

This is great. I don't even have to blow dry and it still straightens. I just use this with a serum on top, air dry and perfect hair. Try it!

Eyeliner -Guerlain - Terracotta Loose Powder Kohl in Lagon Bleu
rated 4 of 5
eqing 11/22/2009 5:59:00 PM

Wow, this is a low rated product huh? I quite like it though. It doesn't scream color, its super subtle. The blue is so faint its almost pure silvery glimmer on me. I am really pale too. When its all together in the tube it looks blue, but the minuscule amount you use won't build it that much. BUt it adds a nice soft glow to the water line, and makes my brown eyes more sparkly, so for that I like it. If you're looking for more drama or more blue for your whaterline try the other Guerlain Blue, that or UD Deviant pencil.

Conditioner -Terax - Crema

Best conditioner for my hair. I have dry coarse curls. If you have this hair type, it is def. worth trying. I think a lot of the complaints on this come from it being heavy. It is a heavier conditioner, it might weigh down fine hair, and yes-yes-it smells like playdoh. But nothing has made my hair softer. Ever.

Lip Gloss -Kevyn Aucoin - Liquid Cyber Lip in Tenda
rated 4 of 5
eqing 10/5/2009 7:54:00 PM

The best thing about this gloss is that the pigmentation is great. Its a light baby pink pink which would be pretty useless if it were too sheer. It has a slight blue undertone to it. The stying power is good. I personally don't think its tacky or over glittery, and it doesn't feel gross on-but these are all very personalized things I guess. Its wand applicator is quite solid. I've had this over a year.

Eyeliner -Sonia Kashuk - Dramatically Defining Long Wear Gel Liner
rated 3 of 5

I have two colors. Indigo and Ebony. The two different colors actually have differences in texture, the indigo is a bit drier and harder to spread of the two. The indigo color is amazing. It is everything I was looking for in a blue eyeliner and more. It can looks black in some lighting and in sunlight its is very bright royal blue. It really pops. In regular indoor lighting its navy. Good for brown eyes. I will forgive the difficulties of applying such a dry liner, because the color is so great. The black is good. Its does not dry chalky and stays put almost too well. My regular face wash doesn't remove these. The problem is they aren't user friendly. If you make a mistake applying it, its a mess. No wet qtip quick fix will save you because it dries too damn fast.

Styling Products -TiGi - Curls Rock Curl Booster
rated 5 of 5
eqing 10/5/2009 1:29:00 AM

Gosh I just loove this. I was very skeptical. First off its a spray, you would think a mousse or cream would be better for a booster. The spray really works though. You spray it on wet hair and scrunch. Zero frizz and no crunch, very surprising. Second off, I tried the amplifier from Curls Rock and it also worked but it was so ridiculously heavy.I would wash my hair and still feel it in there after I washed it. If you get the amplifier on your hands you have to scrub like hell to get it off. I am happy to report though the Booster dries so nice and light, no heaviness at all. Scent lingers but its great so no issue. Ingredients are quite good. 1 Water soluble silicone, no alcohol, and I believe no proteins. Great stuff, if your thinking about it, get it. I used it w/ Paul Mitchell super Sculpt and diffused and had a great hair day.

Shampoo -Kiehls - Sunflower Color Preserving Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
eqing 9/26/2009 12:34:00 AM

Love. This is only for certain hairtypes though, that is for sure. It is heavy and oil based. So its for thicker, dryer hair. Most of the ingredients in here are oils actually, s if you need smoothing this will be great. I do find it to be color safe also. It is very moisturising and not stripping, its does smell, I don't know pineapple-y and yes it lingers. It lingers for more then a day on me, no idea why. Kiehls SA told me this happened to her too. But its a great sulfate-free gentle shampoo, so I'll deal with the pineapple thing.

Treatments (Eye) -Bobbi Brown - Hydrating Eye Cream
rated 3 of 5
eqing 9/26/2009 12:28:00 AM

I got a sample of this with the corrector/concealer kit thing with the powder. The kit is really great, this was given to me to serve as a base for that. Initially I thought it was doing a great job, and was a little greasy. I am not too demanding of an eye cream. One day I forgot it. I noticed no diffrerence in the staying power of my concealer, or the hydration of my skin. I tried using it one day, not using it the next and ultimately this just had zero effect for me.

Shampoo -Kenra - Kenra Clarifying Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
eqing 9/26/2009 12:16:00 AM

It's just mystical. I don't know how a clarifying shampoo is so amazingly effective, and gentle at the same time. So I had blonde hair, I dyed it blue black, it was very porous. Theres that general rule, you should wait two weeks to clarify. I didn't, used this, my color didn't budge. How does it do that?

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Orjene Organics CoQ10 OliveVitale Age Recovery Serum
rated 5 of 5
eqing 9/26/2009 12:09:00 AM

I found the serum at a Vitamin Shoppe. Never heard of this brand before and I took a chance. So glad I did. Ingredient-wise the serum has it all! Vitamin C and E it has Hyralunic acid, CoQ10 too. Everything else in there is organic and moisturizing. The serum actually DOES sink in. I have tried so many that sit there on top till you wash off. It gets in, and moisturizes very well. No break outs, just perfect skin.Cheap too.

Mascara -Maybelline - XXL Curl Power
rated 4 of 5
eqing 9/26/2009 12:05:00 AM

Gosh, some love/hate reviews on this one. I think it's good. It doesn't flake or irritate my eyes. Those are the 2 super-important points for me. It doesn't curl masterfully either. I have never found a mascara to really come through on this. I think curling mascara means 'curved brush' seems the same formula as the other XXL's which are also good. If I have time, I'll do the primer-it gives a bit more boost, but on its own the mascara is alright.
