Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - Moon Beam
dlkarp 12/31/2007 11:12:00 AM
My friend who worked for benefit had High beam, which I thought was a little bit too pink for my pale skin..so she suggested I try Moon Beam which is more of an apricot shimmer. I must admit it is more subtle than High Beam and not so iridescent... At first I used this all over my cheeks, but was not happy with the initial result as it seemed to look greasy and blotchy. It was not until I watched a 5 minute makeover using benefit products that I realised how the product should be applied. I place three dots under my brow bone and then three dots along the top of my cheek bone and ensure that I blend carefully. I find this really highlights any daytime look and is soo flattering... I also sometimes add a dot to the corner of my eye and blend to give that extra sparkle. Especially if I cant be fussed with applying any eyeshadows :-) The only reason I have deducted one lippie is because I can not use this product everyday as I find it irritates the delicate skin around my cheekbone. But this may be because I have sensitive skin and others may not have this problem...

I think this perfume is one that you either love or hate.... Everyone I ask either thinks this is sickly sweet or absolutly delicious.... I happen to really love this perfume and begged my bf to buy me one for xmas (I know there a lots of good deals on this product too). I always smell it and can not believe its a celebrity scent!!!I find it really works with my scent and I adore the crystal blue bottle with the sweet little heart charms on it :-) I feel like a little princess whenever I put this on...I think this is one of the best celebrity fragrances out there!!! The smell also last for aggges and when used with the body lotion smells even yummier!!!

Other -BeneFit Cosmetics - Gabbi Bag
dlkarp 12/29/2007 8:32:00 AM
Ok...seeing as I had some extra money for xmas, I decided a treat was definatly in order and this is a treat indeed!!After getting over the price of £21.50 (for a bag!!) I must say I really love it. I had to buy one after seeing them all around the benefit counter, and how lovely they looked!!Not only because it has a really retro and Kitsch look, but it is designed for lots of benefit products. I can fit my eyeshadows, pocket benetint, Moon Beam, bad gal mascara and eyeliner...it also has a plastic flap which keeps all your brushes safe. I personally keep my eyeliner and silky lipsticks in there instead. I was also plesantly surprised by the size of the bag as it was bigger than it looked on the website :-) Personally I think this is too big for people hoping to carry this around in their bags, unless you have an oversized bag for it...but as make up bags go this is certainly one for benefit fans like me!!

Skincare - Face -Evian - le Brumisateur

Ok so the price of this product is throught the roof and its such a hard product to find (I must have been to about 10 boots stores) but i absoultly adore it!!It calms my sensitive skin down soooo much. I tend to use it after I cleanse (With a wipe off cleanser) and before putting moisturiser on. I notice such a difference when using this product, its pure magic. My skin is less dry and flaky and a little more plumper. I was reading that tap water is really bad for your skin, so I have replaced this with tap water and I have to agree my skin looks and feels heaps better. Definatly worth a try peeps:-)

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dallas
dlkarp 10/7/2007 10:16:00 AM
Ive recently died my hair a rich dark brown and needed something to liven up my pale skin. I usually love pink baby doll blushes, but with the darker hair I needed a more sunkissed look. Well, look no further no Dallas powder..it is the perfect lift for any skin. At first I was using the product just on my cheeks with the brush that it comes with, but it wasnt giving the desired look and made the blush look a bit muddy and patchy. Determined not to give up, i noticed seeing a few girls on my train to work use this an overall face powder on their noses and gently on their foreheads with a big oversized brush. However, because I was so pale, I was a bit aprehensive about using such a dark powder all over. So, one afternoon I thought I would practise and the results were amazing. I bascially brushed on lightly to areas that the sun would touch my face and then added more around the cheek area. It seriously works wonders!!!! :-)

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Blue
dlkarp 8/17/2007 5:25:00 AM
Ok, so the brush is a bit more tricky to use than I would like it to be and you have to apply a number of coats before you get the results you want. But overall, I like this product and it does make your eyes pop. Its probably not as eyecatching as I was expecting, but I am pleased that I have tried it. The colour is more of a royal purple colour, which although is subtle, does a nice job :-) Im very pleased!!!

Lipstick -BeneFit Cosmetics - Silky-Finish Lipstick
dlkarp 8/9/2007 7:52:00 AM
These lipsticks by benefit are soo yummy-I could buy one in every colour!!My first purchase was Swoonderful-a wonderful light berry/silvery colour. I always get compliments when I wear this lippy and I think it would suit every complexion. Even though the lasting power of this lipstick is not the best-it does leave some faint glitter and sheen on the lips which is just as nice!!I was so happy with this shade that I went out and decided to try a darker shade and purchased Dessert First. This too is a lovely shade for the evening-kind of berry red and although there is no glitter there(Its a matte lipstick I still love it. Im sooo tempted to buy another now!!!

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Boi-ing
dlkarp 7/30/2007 8:13:00 AM
I really love this product and Im so pleased I found it cos it really works!!!At first I only used it under my eye area to cover dark circles, but I now use it to on my nose and my cheeks. I also find if i put it on my eyelids, my eyeshadow stays put all day. It really is a universal product and a must have item. The only down side is that there are only three colours, so they will not suit everybodys skin tone. I find the light is a bit too light, and the second is quite dark. However, once the second one is blended, it looks fab on my skin. The MA also told me that you should go for a slightly darker concealer, as it will cover more than a lighter shade!!!

Skincare - Face -Mir - Mini Mini Mir
dlkarp 7/27/2007 7:11:00 AM
I had such high hopes for this product as I loved the background on this product and it has worked for so many people. I am now realising the harsh ingrediants that go into certain facewashes, especially those marketed as *sensitive* I have been using Mir for three days and although it feels lovely to use I have developed lots of little spots around my chin. Im going to use the remaining amounts left in my samples and Ill write again if there are any changes.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint
dlkarp 7/24/2007 5:39:00 AM
Although this product is very expensive, I would say that a little goes a long way so you do get your moneys worth. The MA tried this on me today on my cheeks and it left me with a lovely colour. My bf said my make over looked lovely and he doesnt normally see the point of cosmetics if you get what I mean. Anyway, the MA used a cotton bud to apply two strokes on my cheek then quickly blended it into my cheeks. ( I think you do need to be careful with this application though) WOW I was really impressed with how it looked and Ive just purchased it on ebay, as its slightly cheaper. Cant wait to experiment with it, and give it a go on my lips too!!

Eyes -BeneFit Cosmetics - Big Beautiful Eyes
dlkarp 7/23/2007 4:58:00 PM
I just bought this today and I love it!!! Im soo pleased with it. I got the ma to try it on me first and show me how to apply it and it looked really gorgeous. It looked even nicer when she lined my inner eyelid with black liner too. My eyes really stood out and looked bigger!!! The eyeshadows are also shimmery and have a lovely sheen to them. I also really like the concealer too, although I thought it would be very dark for me, the ma told me that in order to cover dark circle etc your better off going for a darker shade. I must admit Id always got a lighter concealer, but when she tried this shade of concealer on it did cover more than the lighter shade ever could. Im soooo glad I bought this!!Thanks MUA!!!!

Crème -BeneFit Cosmetics - Some Kind-A Gorgeous
dlkarp 7/23/2007 4:01:00 PM
The Ma introduced me to this product today and I am so rushing out to get this as soon as I get paid. I have never seen a foundation go on so smooth! and it covers all my flaws with a lovely colour to match!!I also think £19,50 is quite resonable for a foundation of this size. Although, I would say this product is more like a tinted moisturiser as it does moisturise your skin, its coverage is like a foundation. Although theres only one colour, it matches any skin tone. I dont know how it does it, but it was the perfect match for my NC15-20 skin. The MA used this with a foundation brush and I think I would do the same as I think its more hygenic than the sponge provided. **Update** so I bought this and I love love love it. Its perfect and gives me the best natural look. Its like pure magic!!!!

Treatments (Eye) -BeneFit Cosmetics - Ooh la lift!
dlkarp 7/23/2007 3:54:00 PM
I orginally went to the benefit counter to purchase eye bright, but the MA persuaded me to try Ooh la Lift and said it was way better. I agreed to try it. When she put Ooh La Lift under my eyes (below and above foundation) it was fantastic and it really suprised me!!What a difference it made!!!I looked wide awake and Id been at work all day!!!Although its very pricey, I think its sooo worth it and so glad I found it!! *edit* so I use this everyday and I *love* it!!Its the first thing I put on under my make up and then again after I have put all my make up one. Its just fantastic and makes such a difference-a real little gem!!One of my staple products!!! I

Self Tanners -Garnier - Bodysummer
dlkarp 7/22/2007 6:16:00 AM
I must say I am very happy with the results from this product!! After trying Johnson&Johnsons and Dove, I found them both to give a very streaky, orangey and uneven tan. After nearly giving up on self tanners all together, a friend recommended summer body, which she said had a subtle glow, even the dark to medium one ( I use the fair one tho by the way). I agree with other viewers that it is very runny in consitency, which made me think the results would be dissapointing. However, I slathered some on and in the morning I was glowing, with a natural looking tan. (I think if you are not very pale, you could go for the medium to dark one) but this is by far the best self tanner ever and Im gonna use this all summer!!!!

Eyeliner -BeneFit Cosmetics - Sketching Pencil
dlkarp 7/18/2007 6:58:00 AM
I love these pencils and I personally love the shade Royale!!! I must admit, I rarely stray away from my staple black bad girl eyeliner, but when I saw this on the MA at the counter I had to ask what eyeliner she had on!! Its sooo nice and it gives off a little purplish/blueish sheen when you catch the light!!!If you layer it on really thick and then use the little smudger, it is perfection!!! Its also good when you dont want to wear very dark eyeliner. Im a big fan!!!
