Lipstick -Stila - Convertible Lip Color in Nude Bloom
diorcherie 9/1/2003 6:17:00 PM
Ooooh...I'm totally lovin this stuff. Yeah, the price kinda stinks considering the amount you get, but the idea of having two l/s paired like this in such a portable packages is quite nice. The sheer side is the best and provides the perfect nude lips with a hint of shimmer and a *teeny* bit of color. The matte side is nice too but I doubt I'll get much use out of it. I'll deffinitely buy again unless I can find a single shade that is similar to the sheer side of this. One downer is that this tastes pretty gross though.

Eyeliner -BeneFit Cosmetics - Eye Bright

This stuff is amazing!!! I was so suprised at how much it brightened my eyes up. I use it in the inner corners of my eyes and WOW...it's like I got a full night sleep. It will, however, cake up a bit, so I just use some e/s base under it and that makes it look nice and smooth. Lasts pretty long and I like the whole stick idea b/c it's more precise, a little pricey but I can somewhat justify it.

Eye Shadow -NARS - California
diorcherie 8/30/2003 6:18:00 PM
Au contraire to the first reviewer, I think that this is a great fall color, and that's the main reason why I bought it. I also realized that if you wanna make light blue/green eyes pop, you gotta get a contrasting color which is what this would be for blue. This color is soooo unique and pretty but unfortunatley, I'm not good at describing colors so you'll have to se it yourself. It's higly pigmented so a little goes a long ways. I use it in the crease and along the lashline with NARS cairo as a wash...weird combo but it looks stunning when done right. And yes...it totally made my eyes pop, really brings out the green and just lights them up, I've gotten so many compliments. Awesome e/s!

Eye Shadow -NARS - Cairo
diorcherie 8/30/2003 6:02:00 PM
I bought this after hearing that it was similar to Chantecaille Corriander which I've been wanting but can never find. Since I haven't seen/tried corriander, I can't compare the two but I did find this similar to the lighter shade in the Clinique Vintage Rose Duo (just got it in the latest free gift set). There's hardly a difference, this just has golden flecks where the Clinique has more of a rose. I use this as a wash and my is it lovely...so simple yet so pretty. The NARS packaging is adorable but it's kinda hard to get past the $18 price tag. Fortunately, these are of good quality and highly pigmented so you dont have to layer it on to get the color to show. Great product and color!

Eyes -Lancome - Aquatique Waterproof EyeColour Base
diorcherie 8/30/2003 1:56:00 AM
I just ran out of my Ultima II e/s primer and decided to give this one a try. Unfortunately, I'm not impressed. My shadow creased after a few hours, it would even crease if there wasn't any shadow on so I know it's the product that's the problem. I never had this with Ultima II which I find odd because Lancome is a much better quality. This product was a major bummer, especially for the price you pay. I'll use it up until I get F.Y...Eye or another Ultima II Fade Not Crease Not but I wont use it after that.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Print Eyeshadow

This is an awesome color. I use it dry as a liner and it creates the perfect smokey eyed look. I love how this color is just slightly lighter than black so it's not so harsh and it can be used as a barely-there gray or a super dark charcoal. The tiny bit of shimmer just adds a little extra and this lasts forever.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Trax

I use this dry as a liner and it creates a really unique look, doesn't make me appear to be bruised but I can easily see how it would for some people. I guess you just have to use this with caution and be careful not to over do it. Overall, this is a great color and the tiny gold sparkles look really nice, lasts fairly long too.

Lotions/ Creams -Johnson & Johnson - Softlotion 24 Hour Moisture
diorcherie 8/19/2003 1:46:00 AM
AWESOME stuff! My skin is super, super, super soft! This has a nice light fragrance and absorbs a lot quicker than most of my other lotions. I swear my skin feels like pure silk. As for the 24 hour deal? Hmmm...not sure, my skin is left moisturized throughout the day but I've never had a problem with dry skin, I just use this for the totally touchable skin it gives you. I've never tried Benefit's Touch Me and Try to Leave creme, but that should be the name of this stuff b/c I doubt anyone would be able to leave after touching skin moisturised with this!

Bronzers -MAC - Bronzer in Golden
diorcherie 8/18/2003 1:12:00 AM
Yuck! I bought this based on the large amount of great reviews and I normally like MAC products, this stuff was just plain bad though. At first, I thought the color (based on how it looked in the pan) was wonderful...it seemed as if it would give a totally natural tan. So I buy it and take it back home to try out only to find my face flecked with specks of gold glitter everywhere (gag). If there's one thing I cant stand in cosmetics (save for lipglosses and eyeshadows) it's glitter. I would assume that those who purchase bronzers are trying to look like they've tanned (duh). Maybe I'm odd, but never have I gotten a real tan that left glitter on my face. I find that when cosmetics have glitter in them, you totally loose the natural look and appear more like a circus clown with all those darned sparkles everywhere. Needless to say, I returned this and bought Dior Terra Bella, a much better and glitter-free bronzer that looks completely natural.

Moisturizers -Christian Dior - Hydra Move Creme

I recieved a nice-sized sample of this and I have to admit, I would normally never ever, ever consider purchasing a department store/sephora brand moisturizer. However, this is soooooo nice that I might just have to splurge. I use this right before I go to sleep(every-so-often or as needed). Before I put it on it always feels heavy, but once I do, I find it to be nice and light. In the morning I wake up to soft, glowing skin (hello, gorgeous!). I'm not sure if it lasts 24 hrs but it sure does surpass my other products. I've had no problems with it clogging pores or causing breakouts although there is a slight greasiness to it at first so I wouldn't reccommend it under makeup or for those with oily skin (I have combo skin so I try to only use this when my skin is on the dry side to prevent any problems...this seemms to work). This is an awesome product and probably the best moisturizer I have yet to try.

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Addict Lip Gloss- A Desire for Sweets- 091
diorcherie 8/15/2003 9:14:00 PM
Like the reviewer below me. I simply purchased this because its Dior, limited edition, and a new color (when will I ever learn?!?). Sadly, I hate this color when used alone...it makes my lips look grey and my complexion washed, not attractive at all. However, since I also purchased Dior Rouge l/s in Ingenue Pink with this, I decided to layer them. In this case, the color is nice and gives a pretty lilac sheen to the pink l/s. Am I glad I bought this? No. Will I use it? Probably not as much as my Lick of Taffy l/g. It'll migrate towards the back of my makeup collection, but it's nice to look at (if you find lip gloss amusing to look at I suppose) and it works well when applied over some l/s.

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Dior Rouge in Ingenue Pink 155

I first saw this in a magazine (forget which one) and I loved how it looked so natural and pretty...the perfect baby pink. I finally found a store that carried the new fall colors so I snatched it up. This has the perfect amount of silver shimmer and it's just the right shade of pink...so lovely! The packaging is adorable too. This lasts pretty long and doesn't dry out my lips, it's nice and light weight. Will definitely buy again.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Coconut Lime Verbena
diorcherie 8/5/2003 1:15:00 PM
Nice fragrance, but nothing great. I like the uniqueness but I dont think it's very practical...the only place I would want to smell like cheap coconuts is on the beach, in which case a bottle of Hawaiian Tropic will do the job.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Contrast Eye Shadow
diorcherie 8/4/2003 11:34:00 PM
I got this as an alternative to using my MAC Print e/s as a liner. I was hoping that the blue in it would make my eyes pop, but they're such a wacky mix of light blue and almost turquoise that it doesn't do squat...oh well. The color is really gorgeous and I think it's almost more dramatic than black but I really wish the blue in it would stand out more. Overall though, it's a great e/s and lasts a long time on lids too.

Eye Shadow -Anna Sui - Eye Shadow

I have the metallic eye color in #200 which is a light purple but goes on more silvery. Surprisingly, it's pretty wearable color and isn't too wild or crazy. Packaging is fun and the strong smell of roses is, well...unique. When used with an eyeshadow base it'll last pretty long too.
