cosmeticaholic 4/6/2006 12:08:00 AM
I love this lipstick...great shade and looks great when paired with Clinique's quickliner for lips in Lipblush and Plummy for a deeper lip color.....I've repurchased several times and use this shade the most...and I have many shades of lipsticks too.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
cosmeticaholic 4/6/2006 12:05:00 AM
Actually I like this moisturizer, but I have oily (t-zone) area combination skin and so this doesn't "over-moisturize", but it does not break me out and keeps my skin balanced for the hydration that I need. I can see someone with really dry skin not liking it becuase it's not super-thick, but for someone with similar skin type like mine, it should work well.

I love Bare Escentuals eye shadows....but can someone please write a review of the "Meet The Brown" collection if you have it and give good shade descriptions too (i.e....peachy tones or pink based undertones)

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Clay
cosmeticaholic 3/20/2006 11:17:00 PM
I agree...Clay is fabulous...looks so boring in the pot, but it does give a nice subtle look.....before I used Bare Escentuals, I used to use Estee Lauder Color Intensity line and they discontinued those shadows, so I now duplicate the look by wetting the following Bare Escentuals shades for a nice daytime eye.....Wet Multi-tasking Bisque and use all over as a wash, then wet brush and use Clay on the lid, then wet smoker brush and use Cocoa in crease and blend.....for a little drama for evening, I use the thin eyeliner brush and use Soft Black liner shadow and then smoke it out under the lash line and in the corner edge for the cat eye look......you can even dust a little Nude Beach over for a little shimmer effect....I get tons of compliments and when I show my friends the colors in the pots, they are like....yuck, how boring, but I'm telling ya....once you wet them and put them on, they look great and last all day long!!!!! For the record, I have tons of BE shadows, glimmers, etc....and these are my favorite neutrals...great for going on an interview look with Kiss Blush on cheeks and a light pink lip!

Blush -NARS - The Multiple in St. Barts
cosmeticaholic 2/12/2006 5:52:00 PM
I have St. Barts, Copacabana and Cannes Multiples....I use Bare Escentuals foundation and these...they are great. I use St. Barts as my bronzer, on my eyes as a base for eyeshadow, then apply a light wash of MAC's eyeshadow in Yogurt over it. I take my lip brush and mix St. Barts with Cargo's lipgloss in "SoHo" for a pretty bronzey-pink lip and I use Copacabana under my eyes mixed with a little concealer for brightening effect, above my cheekbones and I use a little of Cannes on the apples of my cheeks. Add a little mascara and eyeliner and I'm out the door.

Eye Shadow -Mally Beauty - Mally Beauty City Chick Smokey Eye Kit - Brownstone
cosmeticaholic 2/11/2006 2:48:00 PM
**Update 04/06: I'm loving this kit. At first I thought these shades were average, but I must say they are the perfect browns for cool-toned brown eyed girls as well as any skin type/color. I've been getting lots of compliments so I now recently ordered Central Park and Plum Chelsea and look forward to my package arriving in the mail soon. My original review is below, but I just had to update it because everyone should have this kit of beautiful browns in their makeup bag! I would repurchase this kit! Original review: I just received this eye kit in Brownstone yesterday. The colors are pretty - however, if I had to do it all over, I would have gotten the Plum Chelsea set as I have many browns just like these shades. I do like the fact that the kit has everything you need at your fingertips....base, highlighter, lid, crease color as well as eye liner. Would have been better if brushes were included too. The eyeshadows go on easily, but the one thing I do recommend...use a light hand with the eyeshadow brush (one swipe is all you need) as it tends to come off and tiny bits of eyeshadow go under your eyes as well as the pallette. There can be some waste of product because of that issue. Also, for the price of the kit...the wells should be refillable and they are not, so you end up throwing out the nice sturdy case when it's done...too bad since most of the money spent goes to packaging... The eyeliner pencil is okay.....it does go on smooth without tugging, however, it ran on me and I don't have oily lids.....definitely smudge it out with a small smoker eye shadow brush or liner brush. I do not like putting eye liner on the inner rim of the eyelid...it's irritating my contacts. I didn't bother using it this morning, I just took my bobbi brown thin eyeliner brush and used the darkest shade in the pallete wet as an eye liner and liked the effect better. I don't know if I would repurchase these shades again, but I would purchase this kit in some other shades like the Plum Chelsea and Central Park (greens), as I don't have too many plums and greens in my collection of eye shades.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Pebble
cosmeticaholic 2/6/2006 5:40:00 PM
I have Pebble and I actually use it (with a light hand of course) in the hollows of my cheeks as a contour make the fish-face), then I use Clear Radiance on top of cheek bones and a little bit of either Fruit Cocktail or Kiss Blush - very pretty!

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Wash Shadow in Stone
cosmeticaholic 2/4/2006 3:49:00 PM
Love this shade....I'm fair skinned with very dark brown eyes and dark brown hair...this shade compliments my brown eyes very well and I get compliments everytime I wear this shade. I wear it with Bobbi Brown's Champagne Shimmer and sometimes with Petal Shimmerwash too. It is a cool toned silvery taupe shade. I'm also thinking about trying the City Chick Smokey eye shadow palette by Mally Beauty....I've never used any of her products, but wanted to try the kit in the shade called Brownstone......if anyone has used Brownstone and also used Bobbi Brown's Stone Shimmerwash Eye Shadow can you please email me a comparison of the two....I'm trying to figure out if the middle shade in the Mally kit is comparable to "Stone" Shimmerwash by Bobbi Brown....thanks.

Bronzers -Laura Geller - Bronze-N-Brighten
cosmeticaholic 1/27/2006 3:45:00 PM
THE Best Bronzer I have ever used (and I've used many). I have fair skin, dark brown hair and dark brown eyes and this bronzer is not too orangey or muddy looking. I use Bare Escentuals foundation and mineral veil, then I put this bronzer on my cheeks, chin, and forehead and a light dusting down the center of my nose and dust a little bit of Bare Escentuals clear radiance over my cheeks. WOW! I look like I just got back from vacationing on a tropical island. I also use this bronzer as an eyeshadow by using the pink shade all over the eyelid, the light brown shade in crease, then I apply by using my thin eyeliner brush in a little water and use the darkest shade of brown in the swirl and use it as an eyeliner. Throw on a little mascara and some lipgloss and I'm good to go. Great for traveling with....it can be your all over face color. I would definitely repurchase and hope Laura Geller never stops making this. I also have very sensititve skin and this does not make me break out at all. The brush it comes with is okay, but I use my Bare Escentuals All over Face Color Brush or sometimes my Cat Cosmetics Kabuki Brush. Get this now!
