I bought this last year and am still wearing it. It is a unisex fragrance. Very green and great for summer. Crisp and refreshing. It is an everyday fragrance to me. This is not something I'd wear to swoon a guy. This is more herbal and relaxing. My DH likes it, but like I said, it's not sexy or anything like that. Just nice herbal, relaxing scent that I wear again and again. Perfect for summer bc it's not complex. It's pretty much mint tea at first and then dries down to a beautiful smelling green tea.
I got this in the fair version. I've worn self tanners for the past few years. Every summer, I try a few new ones. Last summer, I was using Dove and Hawaiin Tropic. The prob with daily gradual tanners is that you end up stinking every day. This is why I actually prefer the regular self tanners. You only stink for one day a week rather than the entire week. I have found that you just can't find a ST that is completely stink free. What I look for in a ST is a good color and that it dries fast. If it smells decent, then it's a plus. So I stumbled upon this ST. First, it smells of grapefruit which I really like. Of course, you still do get the ST smell, but it's pretty light. It dries very fast. I LOVE that about this. The color is fantastic honestly. Prob the best one I've used besides Aveda. There are some probs with it though. First, the light color is light. You might end up applying later that day. The other is that it can streak easily. You must be very careful when applying this. I think it's bc of the faster drying formula that it's easier to not rub it in correctly. I've used this a few times though and I love it and will repurchase. *Edit- dropping 2 lippies bc it has been streaking like mad on me. I do however, still use it on my face and it seems to work well without issues*
This is a beautiful color. I wear all diff kinds of NP. This one is prob one of my favorites. Goes on nicely too. It looks super glossy even without a top coat. It is dark navy. If you want to go more blue/lighter- try the Yoga or mod bright blue. This is almost ink colored-dark navy blue.
Smells like BBW's Rice Flower and Shea to me. Just a very diff kind of vanilla that isn't especially "foody" nor "spicy".
I LOVE verbena scents. I bought this without even blinking. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't love it. Only meh. If you think Yankee's citrus scents are too overbearing, this is prob the right thing for you. I however, tend to like the strong citrus! However, it has great thow and is not very polarizing, so I still use it occassionally, but will not repurchase.
Way too perfumey for me. I'm surprised bc I typically love fresh, soapy scents. This didn't work for me. Comes off far too strong. I prefer Sunwashed Linen to this which seems like a much lighter version along with a touch of lemon. I can see the allure to this, but every time I try it, I put it away bc I can't stand it really.
This is a good mix bw lavendar and lemon. The lavendar tones down the sometimes overly sweet lemon. The lemon tones down the sometimes overly spicy lavendar. What you have is a good, herbal, everyday scent. Unfortunately, it's not my favorite. I've been smelling it for months. I finally bought it along with some others and found I reach for some of my other scents more. Regardless, I love anything lemon esp for the kitchen. This is a keeper bc most will like it since it just mixes so well and isn't polarizing as some of the other yankee scents can be.
While I can understand the "men's cologne" reviews, to me, it smells like soap. Like somebody just got done showering. Fresh and soapy. That's what this scent is. I love it. It is more perfumey and therefore, different than the typical fruit and flowers that most buy from yankee, but I love this one. It has good throw (some of yankee's don't), so don't buy it if perfume scent bug you. This is a good, unisex fragrance. Edited- changed rating from 5 to a 4. A bit too perfumey to me. I much prefer the Sage and Citrus.
Very unisex scent. Herbal, but also a touch perfume/cologne to it as well. It's very different from the typical Yankee-fruit or flower candles. My DH feels so so about this one. I think it's very unique and relaxing. I'm giving it 4 stars only bc I believe they should have downplayed the powder scent in the candle just a touch. At times, that can get a bit overpowering, but otherwise, it's a good scent to have. Edited to add- changed my rating from a 4 to a 5. I burn this almost every day. Very earthy and wonderful fragrance.
Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Midnight Fantasy Britney Spears

I started with Fantasy and loved it so much, I bought Midnight Fantasy without even trying it on. I was pleasantly surprised. As a matter of fact, I wear this more than Fantasy bc it seems more casual to me and sometimes more upbeat. IMO, Midnight can seem more polarizing than Fantasy, so if you want the more run of the mill vanilla spice, go with Fantasy. Other diff- obviously, the blueberry note in Midnight is different. The other basic diff bw the 2 is that Midnight has a more sweet vanilla berry dry down and Fantasy is a sweet vanilla spice dry down. So if you don't care for the spicier notes in Fantasy, try this one. Don't care for berry? Go Fantasy. It can smell overly childish and sweet. I'm 33 and wear this though, but just a touch here or there. If you spray too much, it is sweet berry overload. Spray the right amount and it smells sweet and sexy to me. All that being said, I've been complimented far more on this fragrance than any other that I have!! My DH LOVES it and he typically never says anything or likes the lighter fragrances (which this is not).
I'm on my third one now. It's a grey-dark green color. It's a blue based green. Bottom line is that it's a different spin on a grey. I'm slightly pale with blond hair and blue-green eyes. Browns are too yellow on me and blacks are too dark for me. Greys work the best, but can be very washed out. Moss and Slate (another Clinique liner that's a blue based grey) are the only 2 eyeliners I've ever used that are fantastic for me. I'm 33 btw, and they don't look overly young. Moss doesn't scream GREEN to me, but rather, a muted grey green. They staying power is good. Not fantastic, but good.

Well, let's just say that I was pleasantly surprised I like this. I'm VERY picky about my fragrances, but I love this. I've worn it many times and get compliments on it. It is a sweet vanilla for sure BUT, it dries down so beautifully IMO to a spicier vanilla. It's the dry down that got me. It is fantastic and very sexy. So yes, it starts very sweet, but doesn't end super sweet- just a beautiful mix of sugar and spice. FTR, I'm 33 and loving this. Does not smell overly young. Now, Midnight Fantasy maybe, but not this. It is perfect for those that love the gourmond scents. Not really your typical- spicy oriental vanilla scents really.
Just bought my second jar. The way it works for me? I use it on my medium-short inverted bob cut when it's wet. It provides enough "hold" for my round brush while also taming flyaways. It also doesn't weigh my hair down but can feel too sticky if you use too much. Many products make my hair greasy OR itchy the next day if I don't wash out asap. This doesn't. Smells kind of fruity which I don't love, but it dissipates quickly. I've used this on dry hair too, but I prefer using something less sticky when it's dry. It's very much like a gel/hairspray/pomade combo.
Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Vaseline Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Lotion
classygirl 3/7/2008 12:26:00 PM
I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 for 2 reasons- 1. It doesn't moisturize intensely. It's very light and quite perfect for moisturizing skin that you don't want to feel greasy. Great for summer. However, for dry, problematic winter skin? This won't do it. I'm using the Vaseline Intensive body butter now and like it MUCH better in this respect. and 2. it does have a scent. Now, it's not fragranced. My nose tells me it's just that they never masked the chemical smells. I think however, this will bother some people. It doesn't bother me and I have a sensitive nose. If you want something completely frag free, you're going to have to pay more money. Lotions like Aveeno, Cetaphil and Cerave for ex- much more expensive, but completely fragrance free. I will purchase this again bc I can't stand greasy lotions particularly in the summer months. This has Eucerin Daily beat and I've used that for years. That's just too greasy for me. I also use Aveeno, but this works just as well for quite a bit less cost and you get double the amount in a bottle. I used this on my face and can see why some like it, but it broke me out after only 2 days.
Lipstick -Clinique - Long last Lipstick - Bamboo Pink
classygirl 3/3/2008 12:32:00 PM
I've gone through 2 tubes of this. I'm fairly pale (not ghostly, but light) with blond hair, blue eyes. I have found many lipsticks to be either too dark or too yellow based for me. This is PERFECT. It is a fantastic layering lipstick. I can wear it alone and light/sheer or chose it to be more dramatic with frost OR can layer it with other lipsticks for a certain look. It is a purple/pink with frost. For reference, I use VS's Exhibitionist regularly and I was a big fan of SK's Allure shade that I can no longer find. A frosty similarity to Allure. I HATE frost though and can wear this without any issues. I just blot some off and it looks fantastic.
