For some reason I was skeptical about this cleanser. However, upon using it my doubts were completely washed away (pun intended). I put a tiny bit on my damp MAC 217 brush which was covered with dark brown eyeshadow that I thought would never come out. I worked the product in the bristles and once I started rinsing it I was amazed as the colour started to dissolve and remove itself from my bristles. My brush was completely white again! I tried this out on my two other white cornell brushes and received the same result. I cleaned my brushes at night and when i checked on them about 9 hours later in the morning they were dry and ready to go. I don't like the lid as it lets out too much product if you're not careful so I'll probably switch to a spray nozzle. Despite that issue I'll definitely be repurchasing.
I love Aqualumiere's packaging. The brush wand picks up plenty of product for one application. I much prefer this type of applicator over the doe foot applicator as I find I don't have to keep putting the wand into the tube over and over again. This is the first lip gloss that I've tried from Chanel and I absolutely love the consistency. It's absolutely not sticky and there is no fragrance (although I usually don't mind scented glosses). As for the colour, I find that it suits my quite pigmented lips fairly well. Over my pigmented lips, it's this medium toned pinkish-nude with a slight hint of shimmer in certain lighting. I love this for daytime looks and I suppose I'd use it for nights out when I want to play up my eye makeup. As for the price, it's a bit steep if you're used to paying MAC prices so I'll have to really think about it before I decide to repurchase.
I like using this for my chapped lips. Lip balms usually win me over when they can conquer my dry, chapped chips and this rose salve has passed the test. My lips are instantly healed after application. I'm not a fan of the packaging. Although I do like the appearance of the jar, like the reviewer below, I always struggle with opening the jar as I constantly have to twist the lid around and around to open it. I've tried just prying the lid off but it's still difficult. I'm also not big on products that require dipping your finger or brush. However, I feel that the product's quality makes up for the packaging flaws.
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Japanese Cherry Blossom body splash
chrisssay 11/12/2009 3:35:00 AM
I was skeptical about scent when I first heard the name. I soon realized that I was too quick to judge as it is now my #1 scent from BBW. When I got my bf to come with me to the store to test it he was thought it was only okay. I bought it anyways and wore it a week later and he commented on how good I smelled. It's important for me that my bf likes a fragrance so that was a definite plus in my books. I also purchased the lotion and another body splash spray. I'm looking forward to trying out the hand cream and body butter as well.
Skincare - Body -Bath and Body Works - Sweet Pea products
chrisssay 11/12/2009 3:30:00 AM
I have Sweet Pea in a spray form that I use at work. It's a bit too sweet for my liking that I only use it when there aren't as many people around so that I don't suffocate them with the sweet smell.
I'm not a fan of these type of glosses. There isn't a lot of product and it does require at least a few turns to get some product out. I find it to be quite sheer and sticky. Would not purchase again
I was going to write basically the same thing that the reviewer said below..the product comes in cute packaging and is fairly cheap..but I guess you really do get what you pay for with this product as I find the quality to be very low. It applies quite watery. I tried doing a cat eye with it and while it applied fine on my eye, as soon as I tried to do a wing it became really streaky. Also, as soon as it dries, the product hardens and creases. I purchase a bunch of these as part of a lot sale on NYX's website a while back and altough I purchased these at a steal, I regret the purchase. These are the first NYX products that I actually really dislike and I've tried several of NYX products.
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Expertwear eyeshadow quad "Sunlit bronze" 50
chrisssay 11/9/2009 4:37:00 AM
It looks like this quad isn't for everyone. I have fairly tanned skin and i don't find any of the shades chalky. I do agree with some of the reviewers in that the shadows are a tad powdery so I do recommend tapping off the excess shadows from your brushes before application to avoid fallout. Other than that, the pigmentation is great for a bronzy summer look. I probably wouldn't wear these shades for a night out.
This brush is extremely soft and I haven't experienced any shedding thus far. I love using it to apply my MAC mineral skinfinish natural for days when i don't want to wear liquid foundation.
I liked this product at first as I found it to be a deep dark black and provided some volume however after a short while I noticed it would flake. I also found it hard to evenly distribute the product amongst my lashes. I find Cover Girl's lash blast and Voluminous do a better job at providing volume to my medium length asian lashes.
At first I thought this product was really expensive for a drugstore product but I found these on sale and had to try them out. I definitely do not regret this purchase. I keep Waikiki Strip in my makeup bag at all times. I use it specifically as eyeshadow and constantly receive compliments when I use it. I use it when i can't think of anything to do mainly because it's so easy to use. The colours compliment each other really well. They're also really pigmented and blend well together. It's a really nice blush for the summertime. I will definitely be repurchasing this when I hit pan
I've purchased all of the lip jams and 107, a light pink with pink reflects is by far my favourite. I love wearing it on its own for a sheer glimmer or over light pink lipstick. Overall, the lip jams are quite sticky, even more stickier than mac lip glasses in my opinion. I don't mind the stickiness because I feel that sticky lip glosses last longer. There is a light bubblegum scent which I love. I haven't experienced a foul smell that I've heard about through bloggers and I've had mine for quite a while. I don't like 102 as much which is a light peach. It's more pigmented than 107 and sometimes settles in the lines in my lips. I also find it's not so forgiving on chapped lips. Despite that, most of the other colours work well on my medium pigmented lips. I would repurchase
Eye Shadow -MAC - Girlish Romp Mineral Eyeshadow Quad
chrisssay 10/22/2009 2:25:00 AM
I'm a little bit disappointed with this quad. I did buy it because it looked cute in the packaging but I'm not really fond of the colour combo. It seems to be the least pigmented of the other quads released in the colour craft collection. I do like the peach for days when I don't want to do too much to my eyes but other than that, i reach for these e/s the least. I probably wouldn't repurchase this quad.
This is a fantastic bronzer against my NC42 skin. There's hardly any shimmer and gives me a great all over glow. I always get asked if I had a chance to enjoy the sun when I wear this. Little do they know, it's all bronzer. I love it and kinda sad for others as it's limited edition and harder to find.
I heard a lot about this mascara so I purchased it when they had a bogo and gave the other one to my friend. I must say, the product is quite black. That's about all that I liked about it. The brushes don't really separate my lashes well. It also clumps easily. Although this mascara is quite cheap, I won't be repurchasing it again. My friend also disliked it as well. I guess you get what you pay for.
