Lip Liners -Rimmel - 1000 Kisses Stay On Lip Liner Pencil - Cherry Kiss
charmressa 1/21/2006 2:12:00 AM
"Cherry Kiss" goes on creamy smooth and is not drying, like most lip liners I've used before. It is reasonably priced, and pairs well with matte lipsticks. I use this with several lipsticks: NYC Moisturizing Lipstick in #313A (shimmery coral-red), Annabelle's Cream lipstick in #205 "Red Satine", and Rimmel's Lasting Finish lipstick in #195, "Bordeaux"... it should be blended and used properly to best wear/matching.
First, I apply chapstick/lip moisturizer. Let that dry for a bit, then apply Rimmel's lipliner to the edges of your lips (our outside of them for a "plump" look), and fill in your lips. Then you may apply dark lipstick sparingly using a lip brush. This way your color won't bleed, and you won't see a gross line around your lips!

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Wet Shine Diamonds Liquid - Out Loud Orange

"Out Loud Orange" is great for tanned skin-tones. Glitter is not gritty, and subtle yet shimmery. Non-sticky, but requires re-application after about an hour or so. Packaging is pleasant, and wand is stubby for quick use.

I have this in Watermelon. Does not last, and the consistency is watery. Smells/tastes good, but the scene is very strong, sometimes overwhelming. Don't buy it to layer over matte lipcolor.

I have this one in "Earth", and my only complaint is how dry my lips feel after a few hours. Use chapstick underneath to ease the dryness, but otherwise it is a great long-wear lipstick.

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Plastic Shine in Amorous Red

Shiny, sultry fun - if only it didn't bleed around my lips... and if only the price was lower, this would be a wonderful brand to own many shades of! Smell is addicting.

Lip Gloss -Caboodles - Lipshine lipgloss in "smile"

I have this one in "giggle". Good for subtle wear or overtop darker shades. Adds a bit of non-gritty glitter for fun. Only negative thing is re-application is necessary, as it wears away easily.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Eye Smoker in Eggplant
charmressa 1/21/2006 1:46:00 AM
This liner does what the package says - it smokes your eyes. Don't try getting a dainty line on your eyes with this chubby stick because you will get angry! :D Use with brush for best results. I wear this with L'Oreal's Rouge Pulp lipstick in "Wink" (pale pink) for a dramatic effect. The one unfortunate feature of this liner is that sometimes it is too soft and needs to be worked into the lid to get "the look".

Blush -Cover Girl - Instant Cheekbones Blush
charmressa 1/21/2006 1:43:00 AM
Apply gently - I find that I have to rub off some pigment from my cheeks after applying with a blush brush. In the packaging, the pigments are too close together and a bit small for easy access with a brush. The applicator that comes with the brush is tiny and applies too much at once.
I am using #210 "Peach Perfection", and I usually apply the mid-tone first, then the highlight and finally the darker tone for "definition", but usually I rub some of it out to avoid the "fake blush" look.
Good for its price, but the packaging sucks.

Primer/ Corrector -Lise Watier - Portfolio

This palette of concealer takes some basic knowledge of color-wheel basics to use. Information is on the back of the packaging.
"Green for redness and lilac for sallowness."
Pricey, but works well if used in moderation, and only with proper attention to layering/moisturizing/foundation for your skin. Use with a soft brush, not fingers, for best results.

Lips -L'Oreal - Rouge Pulp in Wink
charmressa 1/21/2006 1:32:00 AM
Wink is a very pale pink, which goes well with smoked-out eyes and fair skin. I also have this in "forbidden" (greyish-purple), and application is creamy and non-drying.

Lipstick -New York Color - Moisturizing Lipstick

I'm surprised with shade #313A (shimmery coral red). Cheap price, good wear... moisturizes well, no complaints, other than the "cheap lipstick" smell and uninteresting packaging.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Panoramic Curl
charmressa 1/21/2006 1:01:00 AM
I've purchased this mascara thrice now, and I'm glad I found this review website because I won't be buying it again. I think the Shoppers Drug Mart "beautician" misinformed me when she said that "L'Oreal makes the best mascara available on the market, or one of the best..." I've used "blackest black", and "black-brown"; twice in the latter shade. I'm currently trying to use up what is left of this tube before it dies on me. This mascara doesn't "run out" - instead, the brush suddenly becomes extremely cakey one day. Don't bother trying to fix it, because its a goner - toss it and go for something else. The Shoppers Drug Mart lady told me that it was because I wasn't "handling" the product properly - which is twisting it out of the tube instead of pumping it, or just opening it and sliding the wand out. Well, I've learned a new technique of opening mascara, now I must find a better one! This product will curl and separate lashes, but they end up looking fake and clumpy if you do not brush them out afterwards. A second coat will increase clumpiness. Aftwards, eyelashes feel dry and brittle for the duration of wear.
