Treatments -Garden of Wisdom - Skin Motivator Serum
cali 12/11/2010 9:51:00 PM
I love the skin motivator serum, but I have to get the one without the bisbolol because I'm allergic to it. This is a great light serum to add under my other treatments or moisturizers. It totally reduces redness, evens skin tone and somehow seems to help my skin become more resilient. It helps reduce redness in breakouts and they seem to heal faster when I dab this on. I will not be without this serum again. Love it!
This is a fairly good product. I'm not keen on the smell but it does feel like it protects my hair while leaving it shinier and softer. Basically, I spray it all over my long hair while its damp before I blow dry, but i also smooth a light coat into my dry hair before I run the flat iron through and the curling iron. the heat seals in the shine even better that way. Probably will buy again because its not expensive.

Great product! It definitely helps soothe my slight redness and blotchiness and it helps limit breakouts. I only put this on my trouble spots to conserve the product and I don't really think I need it all over. If you're looking to get away from BP or salicylic acid type products and/or you just have sensitive skin that breakouts then you should def give this a try.
Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer
cali 11/13/2010 11:34:00 AM
I've used this product in my early twenties and now tried it again in my early thirties. I really loved it when I was younger and it made my skin soothed and makeup look great. It still makes my makeup look great now that I'm older but it just doesn't 'wow' me like it used to. I bought the little 0.25oz pots from beauty encounter and I'm so glad I didn't splurge on a whole jar. I don't need this for everyday and I find it makes a great eye cream so that's all I use it for. It did help me get over a weird bout of red, chapped lips ( i just patted a light layer all over my lips) and I still use it as a lip balm. Its just too pricey and I've found other moisturizers that look great under my mineral makeup so I wouldn't buy a full jar, but I may keep buying the small pots to use as an eye cream.
Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Walking on Eggshells
cali 9/17/2010 6:33:00 PM
I bought this eyeshadow trio on a whim at the drugstore and I'm so glad I did! These colors are great for day or night and its my go-to eye shadow palette everyday for work. I love the brown shadow for the crease and/or mixed with a slightly darker bronze on my lids. It creates a very warm, bronzy but natural look. I can either leave it natural for day by just adding some brown eyeliner or i can jazz it up for night by adding purple or black liner. I'm please with the quality, love the subtle shimmer and the price makes it a steal!
Blush -Milani - Minerals Blush - 203 - Mai Tai [DISCONTINUED]

This blush is very pigmented. I have been using Rimmel blushes for years now and I'm used to their light formula but decided to branch out and try this. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. I think its basically the color, its just too peachy or coral for my skin tone. I wish it had more pink in it. I gave this a four because I know this works great for most skin tones and its a plus to have a deep pigmented blush, but I'm just not feeling it. The packaging is just ok and I would not buy this again.
Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - NCN Professional Skin Care - Rhassoul Cleansing Bar
cali 7/20/2010 9:12:00 PM
This soap changed my life and transformed my skin!!!! It is HG for sure! I have sensitive, slight rosacea skin and this cleans well, evens out skin tone and soothes and calms the redness. I do rub some apricot kernel oil on my face to remove makeup at night, and then I follow with this soap. I use it in the mornings too. Its does not dry me out, makes pores look smaller and reduces any breakouts. (I actually hardly breakout at all anymore because the rhassoul clay gets in there and deep cleans). Also the soap is not scented and doesn't have any crazy ingredients. Ladies, if you've tried all types of facial cleansers (high or low-end) like me but continue to breakout then you may be allergic or sensitive to emulsifiers, colorants, soy protein or lecithin liposomes, fragrances, herbs or essential oils like chamomile, etc. Trust me, i learned the hard way after all these years of wasting money on fancy cleansers that simple is best. but with this simple soap you don't have to give up on quality or effectiveness. Also, I'm on my third bar and have been using this for about five months. Customer service is great and they ship super fast too. :)
I bought the trial pack. I really wanted this to work for me since I wanted to try mineral makeup in a liquid form instead of always using powders. The finish and coverage were good, but after testing it for a few days, I broke out with a couple pimples on my chin which I hadn't had in a long time. Plus, I wish they had more of a color selection. I dont have time to mix colors every morning so I don't see that option as a plus.
Concealers -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Concealer
cali 3/27/2010 1:45:00 PM
This is a great concealer. I've used two shades (light 4-5 and medium 0-1) and they have the perfect amount of yellow in them to look natural and hide redness from blemishes or acne scars. I use my concealer as foundation since I take a dab of concealer and put it on a makeup sponge. Then I spritz the sponge with some rose water toner and spread it all over my face like foundation. The toner helps spread it evenly and sheer it out so it doesn't get too cakey. The medium 0-1 is a perfect match for my skin and blends in so well. I have been using this for years (since they came out with it) and am so glad I tried it. when I need extra coverage I use it under my eyes, but typically I use the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer for my eye area. The packaging is alright but since the price is very reasonable I will continue to but this again and again. UPDATE 6/5/10: I just realized I am sensitive or allergic to chamomile. Since this has that in it, I have stopped using it all over my face. I only use it as a concealer for the extra red spots around my nose. Bummer since I like the formula and think its a great concealer over all.
Foundations -Aromaleigh - Glissade mineral foundation powder [DISCONTINUED]

I love glissade. I have been using Aromaleigh for years so I'm surprised it took me this long to write a review. I've been using their products since they had their old formulations but once they came out with Glissade I immediately jumped on it. I love the fact that the minerals are coated in silicone so they dont actually touch your skin (plus they improved it a few years ago and finally made it paraben free). This powder is great for sensitive and drier skin types. I'm not sure how helpful it would be for oily skin, but I think they recommend Voile minerals for that. For me, it provides a smooth finish over my concealer and keeps my skin hydrated. I also use their porcelaine and ultra resolution powders to set the look and then I finish everything with a light dusting of pysicians formula loose mineral powder. I know, it sounds like a lot but it gives me great coverage and looks really natural. people never think i have a ton of makeup on let alone four different powders. I apply it with my jane iredale handi brush (the one with the flat top) it allows you to distribute the minerals evenly and apply many layers for desired coverage.
I love this hydrosol! Its so soothing to my mild rosacea / acne skin and really calms the redness and blotchiness. The thing I noticed is that the hydrosol works twice as good when I use it under the immortelle HA serum. The two together really calm the redness better than they did when I used them seperately. Will definitely repurchase!
I love this blush! Great color and super great value. I've been using this for years. I think they reformulated in the last year or so because the one I bought last Fall is more pigmented. Its super soft and blendable and lasts throughout the day too. I love the subtle shimmer. I layer it with the sienna blush to warm up the 'coolness' and it suits my skin tone perfectly.

I love this stuff!!! It is very soothing on my skin and it calms redness. I'm pretty dry so I still have to put another moisturizer on top of this, but this stuff is a great extra cushion of hydration. I will definitely repurchase.
This toner is great for soothing and hydrating sensitive skin. If you love totally natural skin care and the smell of roses then you'll love this. Its best for normal/dry skin because I used this years ago in my early twenties when I was more oily and it didnt work for me. It works great now and my skin soaks it right up. Plus it calms some mild redness on my cheeks. I've bought two bottles this past winter and I'm about to buy a third :)
Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush
cali 3/28/2009 10:39:00 PM
I have a Clarisonic Pro with a gentle brush head. It took a little while for my combo/sensitive/mild rosacea skin to become comfortable with it, but I found using it every two or three days seems to do the trick for me. The pricing is ridiculous, but at least it will last me forever. It does help my makeup go on smoother and get rid of dry, flaky patches so that's a definite plus. It also seems to help my rosacea serums sink in better. Would repurchase if I had to, but really hope I never have too!! UPDATE 6/5/10 - I stopped using this for like 6-8 months. I guess I just got lazy and I thought it was starting to break me out too much. During that time when I quit the clarisonic, I was using plain rhassoul clay as a mask and a scrub. This worked for a while but I needed a deeper clean. I bust out with my clarisonic this week and boy, can I tell the difference. Got rid of all my flakies and helped make the pores on my nose look cleaner. Its not a miracle product but I do think that its probably the best exfoliation treatment around. (I haven't tried microfiber cloths so cant compare). I feel silly now that I stopped using this and will definitely keep this a regular part of my skin care routine.
