Lotions/ Creams -Aveeno - Daily Moisturizing Lotion
brio815 11/19/2012 10:21:00 PM
Yes I'd buy this again. No fragrance. Doesn't take long to sink in. Not too thick. I think it helps dry skin effectively. I just didn't give it 5 lippies because I don't think ANY lotion is the best. I like this one and a lotion by Eucerin.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
brio815 11/18/2012 10:55:00 PM
I have bought this 2 times. I prefer the tub to the squeeze tube. I don't think this is a miracle product and don't understand why others do. It might take down a normal pimple. But it definitely does not do away with cystic blemishes. Not does it just make blackheads disappear.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
brio815 11/18/2012 10:42:00 PM
Plain and simple: I wouldn't purchase this again. At Sally's the girl told me this was a popular brand. My nail color chipped the very next day. AND, I didn't even have it that long before the polish started getting really thick and unusable. As for people concerned about the "warning" label what's the difference between that and all the animal meat you consume? You'll eat meat that's been pumped full of hormones and raised on food it typically wouldn't eat. But, a nail polish bothers you? Get real. The air quality will probably cause a birth defect before this polish will. JS

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
brio815 11/14/2012 11:10:00 PM
Maybe my problem is this: I bought the equate brand of this product because YES (shoot me) I wanted to pay LESS. Isn't that why off brands are made? For cheap people like myself? Anyhow, the moisturizer was recommended to me by my derm a few years ago. I never bought it. However, i see RAVE reviews about Cetaphil cleanser. HUH? RAVE REVIEWS?!? I don't like this cleanser at all. t's thin and runny. My face doesn't feel clean afterwards. I have to go back over my face with a harsher cleaners. Maybe I'm the odd one out. This cleanser is not "da bomb."

Shampoo -Mane 'n Tail - Shampoo
brio815 11/14/2012 11:02:00 PM
I had initially bought La Bella Los Caballos s/c. It was super duper cheap at Wal-mart. Huge bottles, too. But, when I wanted to repurchase just the shampoo, Wal-mart didn't have it. I checked the pet aisle and it wasn't there either BUT Mane n Tail was. I bought only the shampoo because I don't think the conditioner for La Bella or Mane n Tail do anything for me. I think this shampoo cleanses pretty well. The shampoo appears smooth and shiny but I don't think it does either of those things to my hair. I simply like it because it's a light shampoo and I can use it each time I wash w/o worrying about build up. I'd repurchase this again and probably will. But the $5-$6 price at Wal-mart didn't excite me. ESPECIALLY since it was on the damn pet aisle. I know $5 isn't a lot and the bottle is quite large, but, sheesh, it's an old product and put on the aisle for ANIMALS! I'll still try other shampoo's but I'll keep this on the side as my go-to. I gave this a 3 because it's not the best but it ain't the worst. :)

Scrubs -Tree Hut - Tree Hut - Hawaiian Kukui Body Scrub
brio815 11/13/2012 11:05:00 PM
I didn't get this scent but I got one of the scrubs as a gift for my birthday. Which oddly enough I was looking for an inexpensive scrub. I like this. At first it felt very harsh. But I added a lil water, let it sit, and now I really like it. I think you can get it at walmart and ulta. It's inexpensive and works well. I like it for my legs since I frequently get ingrown hairs and have dry legs. It doesn't irritate my skin and has made my legs softer. I enjoy the smell. I have Coconut Lime but wanna try a different scent later.

Treatments -Pantene - Pro-V Medium-Thick Hair Solutions Silkening Detangler
brio815 11/13/2012 11:02:00 PM
I've bought this for the 3rd time. I really like it. It helps detangle my hair well and it's not expensive. I use it whether I straighten my hair or wear it naturally wavy/curly. I like the smell and think the amount is worth the price. I've used some Oscar Blondie "miracle" leave in that was almost $30 and that did nothing for my hair. I don't even see it on the market anymore. I've used some other drugstore brands but this is my HG leave in.

Treatments -TRESemme - Nourishing Rituals Rejuvenating Mud Masque
brio815 11/13/2012 10:53:00 PM
I bought this product for the 2nd time. I think the amount you get for the price is very good. I bought my second container at walmart and I wanna say it was right under $4. I use this quite often when I wash my hair. I put this on last while in the shower and let it sit while I do my other business. I think it's a pretty good mask for the price and amount. I'm not a Tresemme fan. I like probably about two or three of their products. This smooths my hair. I gave this 4 lippies because I just don't believe any mask is 100% awesome.

Styling Products -Aussie - Heat Protecting Shine Spray
brio815 11/12/2012 10:46:00 PM
I bought this because I don't really know why. I hate it. I don't think it helps protect against heat at all. I saw a beauty "guru" youtuber do a review on this product. She said it makes her hair stiff. I don't think this is for when your hair is dry. You use it on damp hair. The price is good. That's about it. This didn't make my hair soft or shiny.

Treatments -TRESemme - Split Remedy Leave-In Conditioning Spray
brio815 3/23/2012 7:57:00 AM
Saw this at Target and decided to try it. I am prone to split ends since I do have wavy/curly hair and I do straighten my hair some times. Plus I got highlights about a month ago. I get my hair trimmed every 2 months since I am growing my hair long. I don't think the product does anything extraordinary. Most girls know that NO product will heal split ends. The only way to get rid of a split end is to cut it off. I wasn't expecting that. But I was expecting my hair to APPEAR healthier. Once I spray this product on my hair feels soft once I managed to get the brush through the tangles. If I use too much my hair can have a stiffness to it once it's dry. I won't repurchase this just because I didn't see a reduction in split ends. I have the same amount I had prior to using this. And I don't see anything special about it. I am not a huge fan of Tresemme products anyway. I like their heat guard leave in spray and their curl cream. Other than that, I don't care for anything else they produce.

Mascara -NYX - Le Frou Frou
brio815 2/27/2012 9:11:00 PM
I bought this at Ulta and have hardly used it. It was less than $10. It flakes and did nothing for my lashes. if it gets on your upper lid/brow area, it is not that easy to remove with just a swipe of a Q tip. I wished I still had my receipt. I would return it. There are much better mascaras around the same price.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Tea Tree Oil
brio815 2/27/2012 9:09:00 PM
I've purchased 100% tea tree oil about 3 times. The smell is strong and takes some getting use to. At first it has and herbal type smell then a woodsy scent. Tea tree oil can be used as a remedy for several issues. Itchy/dandruff scalp, athletes foot, acne, minor skin irritations. I read someone bought The Body Shops tea tree oil. I never would. I buy mine from whole food type stores. Depending on the brand the price can vary. I probably pay around $10 and yes the bottle is little. But, a little goes a long way. And depending on your skins reaction, the oil can be diluted with water. It's not an acne cure but it has helped clear up a few of my blemishes in a shorter amount of time if I put it on when I feel a bump coming on.

Eyeliner -NYX - Super Skinny & Super Fat Eye Marker
brio815 2/11/2012 6:57:00 PM
I like liquid liner over pencil liner. Although I use pencil first then trace over with my liquid liner. I like liquid pens over liner that you use the handle with the wand. I bought this because it's a decent price and it's a pen. I like how black it is. BUT it smudges and I think too much liquid comes out on a first swipe. I DO like that the felt tip doesn't scratch my skin. It;'s soft and stiff enough at the same time. I probably won't purchase this again as I'll continue to search for a liquid liner I love. I'll still purchase NYX cosmetics. I think their color range is pretty good. And the prices aren't bad.

Misc Beauty Tools -Olay - Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System
brio815 1/30/2012 8:05:00 PM
I've wanted a Clarisonic but like many others, I'm not willing to spend $250 on the item at this moment in time. I'm sure the Clarisonic is better than the Olay brush. BUT, I like the Olay brush. I feel like it cleans my skin much better. I don't use the Olay cleanser. I use the brush every night. I wash off my makeup with my Purpose bar, then use my Body Shop Tea Tree Oil wash with the spin brush. I feel like it has reduced the amount of blackheads I get. I have oily, acne prone skin with visible pores on my cheeks. The brush doesn't seem to irritate my skin or be too abrasive. If I could afford a Clarisonic I'd probably get one. But, the Olay brush will do just fine for now. I say try it, buy it from Ulta, or a beauty store that takes used items back, and see how you like it. It's only $30 which is a decent price. I gave this product a 4 because I wished the brush was wider.

Concealers -Hard Candy - Glamoflauge Concealer
brio815 1/29/2012 8:35:00 PM
I had my husband pick this up for me when he was stopping by walmart. I was desperate to find a full coverage concealer as I do suffer with acne break outs from time to time (m ore often than not). And I also have a few acne marks, the red marks. When he got home I wanted to try the concealer immediately. At first use I didn't care too much for it and thought it was a bit off in color and thick. However, now that I have been using it for a week or two, i like it more. I use a tiny tiny amount, put it on my ring finger, dot it on the spot, and tap lightly with my ring finger, several times. I then use my Sephora foundation brush and blend it a little more. It seems to be working out well. I'm lucky that the light color blends decently with my skin color. I don't tan or stay in the sun often enough. I think Hard Candy could come out with way more color options!!! It is VERY limited. I had bought the Revelon Photoready concealer stick prior to Hard Candy Glamoflauge. I use it in conjunction with my HC concealer but I don't care for the Photoready concealer and think it is overpriced. If this is ever discountinued I'll probably seek out a high end conealer with good coverage and staying power. I like the Hard Candy Glamoflauge. Make sure your skin isn't dry. As the concealer will accentuate the dry areas even more.
