Bath Treatments -LUSH - Butterball Bath Bomb
rated 4 of 5
blushie 5/15/2012 9:29:00 AM

This is one of the best products I've tried from Lush. I got it in a gift-box, and I was so excited to receive it since I've always wanted to try it. If you have skin that's prone to dryness, TRY THIS!! This bomb leaves a lovely silky layer of oil on the skin, which I adored. Even better, it didn't leave me with a red rash like some oils do. Probably not great if you're prone to oiliness or about to go out though, it could ruin clothes. It slowly dissolves, leaving floating droplets of oil on the surface of the water, which are easy to catch and rub into dry areas. It has a soft vanilla/floral/cocoa scent which is nice on the skin to start with, but smells a bit odd after a few hours. That's the only reason I have chosen to give this 4 instead of 5. Unlike some people, I didn't notice it leaving a film on the bath. I will be buying again, I'm so glad I've discovered this in the lead up for winter.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Honey I Washed the Kids soap
rated 4 of 5
blushie 5/13/2012 6:31:00 AM

For Australians (and anywhere else with them), this smells exactly like Butter Menthols! Which I quite like in a cough lolly, but in a soap it was a bit strange. I'd sniffed it instore a few times but it never really caught my interest. I received it in a gift-box for my birthday. I don't mind using it at the moment, because I'm sick and it's cold, and butter menthol scent is quite comforting. It also layers really nicely under Vanilla Dee-Lite. It does melt quite quickly, but it also bubbles nicely and isn't as drying as some other Lush soaps. I'm not sure I'd buy it again, if I do it will probably a winter-time thing. But I will certainly enjoy using it up.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter - 080 Strawberry Shortcake
rated 4 of 5
blushie 5/12/2012 3:33:00 AM

First of all, if Revlon and Aussie retailers weren't so eager to rip off Australians with vastly inflated prices ($21.95, are you crazy? That certainly isn't all tax. Plus our dollar is pretty much on par, if not better than the US dollar), I would have given this a 5. Luckily I like this a lot. I love colour, but sometimes I feel lipstick can be too much for during the day. This is good, because I can apply it without being too careful and don't have to blot away until I feel comfortable. Strawberry Shortcake makes for a cute and polished lip and suits my fair skin well. While these lip butters work like a balm for my mum, I still need to use a balm during the day. They do hold the moisture in really well and I don't need to use as much balm. I'd happily wear nearly all the colours in the range, but until I can find them cheaper or as part of a deal, I won't be repurchasing.

Lip Treatments -LUSH - Whipstick
rated 3 of 5
blushie 5/12/2012 3:13:00 AM

I got this is a gift, in a lovely Lush gift-box that I recieved for my birthday. This smells so good, like oranges and chocolate which is one of my favourite taste combinations. It tastes quite nice too. Moisture wise, it works quite well, but I certainly wouldn't turn to it for seriously dry lips. I prefer to put it under lipsticks so they apply smoother. Unfortunately, it's tricky to use and is the product is quite hard, it needs a bit of melting before being applied. You do get quite a full pot of this stuff though, and maybe in summer it will be easier to use (it's autumn here in Australia). It leaves no colour on your lips either, which is a plus for my complexion, but might me a minus if you're after a coloured balm. Quite nice and a bit of fun, but not enough to warrant repurchasing (unless I figure out a way to make it softer).

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Melting Marshmallow Moment
rated 4 of 5
blushie 5/12/2012 3:01:00 AM

This bath melt is great! Way better than my only other experience with a Lush melt, Floating Island, which was total rubbish. I received this as a birthday present in one of Lush's giftboxes. While I won't buy this again (it smells too sugary-sweet for my tastes), I would certainly recommend this to anyone who loves things like Snow Fairy, Rockstar soap and products along those lines. It melts beautifully, making the water look like a pink milkshake. The scent didn't wash away once it melted either, so not only will your skin be soft after your bath but smell sweet too! I only needed half, and I mixed with with a bit of some Magic Mushroom bubblebar I have left over for some bubbles too; these two worked together really well.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Space Girl Bath Bomb
rated 3 of 5
blushie 5/6/2012 10:09:00 AM

This bath bomb had always appealed to me in store, but inevitably something else would outshine (more like outsmell) it and I'd leave thinking "next time". Luckily, it came in a Lush gift box I received for my birthday! It's quite a pretty bomb, soft purple with blue patches and glitter. It has a floral smell, and nothing much else, but it doesn't fizz away like some of the Lush products do once they hit water. It dissolves very fast. Unfortunately though, the dye beads inside it didn't dissolve quite so well. I realised when a huge pink splodge was forming in the corner of the bath. I had to squidge them down for ages to make sure they wouldn't stain me or the enamel. It does turn the bath this beautiful, shimmery purple once it's all dissolved, I felt like I could look at it all night.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express One by One
rated 4 of 5
blushie 5/6/2012 10:03:00 AM

My sister recommended this mascara to me, and although I really liked the Lash Stiletto Volume I'd been using for quite a while, I get bored easily. This one is very similar to my old mascara, but I think the brush makes it easier to make my outer lashes get that long "winged" sort of look that I like. It doesn't have the same strong rose scent like the Colossal either, which is nice. Will I buy it again? Maybe. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a easy to use mascara that can be subtle or built up to be more dramatic. It didn't blow my mind, but I'll continue to enjoy using it until it's gone.

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Vanilla Dee-lite
rated 4 of 5
blushie 5/6/2012 9:55:00 AM

Whenever I smelled this in store, it smelled bland and un-interesting, which was frustrating because the descriptions and reviews online sounded so good! I received a Lush gift box for my birthday, and this was included. I think the bottle being open for weeks, if not months at a time in the shop must cause the scent to disappear, because the new one I received smells amazing! It's such a delicious vanilla smell, so warm and cosy. The jasmine gives it something else too, a different dimension that lifts it from being too sweet. I didn't give it 5, because it isn't amazing as a moisturiser. It's ok, but I need something pretty heavy duty, especially in the winter. It's such a good winter smell though, so I'll probably layer it. I will certainly buy it again.

Fragrances -Vera Wang - Vera Wang
rated 4 of 5
blushie 5/3/2012 3:27:00 AM

I've only been wearing this for a day, but it's so lovely I have to write a review. My friend gave it to me for my birthday, and I was a bit nervous when I opened the wrapping because I'm quite picky with perfume. When I first sprayed it on my wrists, I thought it was going to be really floral and heavy (like Red Door), but it's not like that at all! Once it has settled for 15 minutes or so, it's warm and modern. I think this would suit women of a lot of ages, if they like a sophisticated scent that isn't too loud, cloying or fruity. I'm so pleased my friend chose this for me, because I would have never bought it for myself. The bottle and packaging is elegant too. Probably my only complaint is that until it settled, it had a strong overtone of alcohol, which I'd never experienced in other perfumes. Luckily, it's only temporary and will be gone by the time you arrive at your destination. I put 3 for the price, since I'm not sure how much it cost and I don't really want to google it to find out. Could be more or less, but I can't imagine it would have been too expensive (at least I hope it wasn't).

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Twilight Bath Bomb
rated 5 of 5
blushie 3/23/2012 10:19:00 AM

I bought this especially for tonight. I've worked and gone to uni all week right up until tonight, and tomorrow I'm going on an international trip. To say I've been a bit highly strung this week would be an understatement. Thank goodness I had the forsight to buy this last week! I really like the scent of lavender, but Twilight makes it even better with a warm vanilla scent. Unlike some Lush products, the scent doesn't just disappear once it hits the water either. It fizzes away gently letting out ribbons of pink, purple and blue- "dusky" colours I suppose. Even prettier are the tiny silver glitter flakes that makes it feel like a bath a fairy would take. I crumbled up the bomb because I'm impatient and the dye did temporarily stain my skin, but with a few rinses it was gone. I feel nice and relaxed so it wasn't just a pretty frippery either. Lush is expensive in comparison with some bath products, but when they are like this they are worth it in my opinion.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Magic Mushroom bubble bar
rated 5 of 5
blushie 2/20/2012 5:49:00 AM

This bubble bar smells like Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel, but unlike YYY it is actually a good product. Just a little bit makes lots of bubbles that smell delicious. When you first put it in, the water turns red but then a short time later it's clear again..? My mum had one, and mentioned that hers did the same thing. And it's not like it's because the colour gets diluted to the point it looks clear...it happened suddenly within a minute or so. But I suppose it doesn't really matter. I loved the scent of YYY, but I really didn't think much of it, so I'm pleased I can enjoy it as a bubble bar. It's too bad this is a limited edition product.

Scrubs -LUSH - Ocean Salt
rated 3 of 5
blushie 2/12/2012 11:56:00 PM

St. Ives Apricot Scrub is my favourite scrub, because it is so gritty and I notice a difference in my skin texture and the number of spots I get if I don't use it. Ocean Salt is quite a bit more in price than St. Ives, but the chunky salt suspended in the bright blue and white cream with a yummy citrus cocktail scent sucked me right in. I've used it 2-4 times a week for about a fortnight now. Make to stir in the thick crust of blue salt on-top first, since that contributes to the "chunkiness" that you see in-store. The texture is quite nice, it's a cream with small salt crystals and the occasional rock salt crystal. It doesn't feel as "scrubby" as St Ives though, which is disappointing. It does soften and smooth my skin quite well, but not quite as well as the apricot scrub. Also, it doesn't seem to keep spots and blackheads away as effectively either. It does leave my skin glowing and rosey though, which is nice. I said "no" to repurchase, it's more of a maybe though. Considering a scrub 1/3 the price works well for me, I can't really justify buying it again...but it's such a fun product to use and it smells really lovely.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Creamy Candy Bubble Bar
rated 5 of 5
blushie 2/11/2012 12:11:00 AM

This bubble bar works really well. Just half a bar is enough to cover the surface of the water with huge mountains of bubbles (probably less would work just as well for smaller baths/softer water). Crumble up the bar while the bath is still shallow, they seem to work better this way. A teeny slice off the bar can be used on your loofa in the shower too (both of these tips I found on MUA and I've used them a couple of times with different bubble bars with excellent results). Creamy Candy is a scent I would normally avoid. Rockstar, Snow Fairy and sugary scents don't appeal to me at all, so I'm not sure why I like this one so much. It smells a bit like bubblegum, vanilla, sugar and weirdly almost banana-ish. It didn't really scent my skin when I bathed in it, but using it in the shower did a little. That's ok though, because I prefer to smell this around me rather than on me (but keep it in mind if you DO want to smell liks this, because it doesn't stay on the skin very well). However, if you leave the bar between your sheets one day, they'll smell like Creamy Candy for days. This bubble bar didn't dry my skin out either. I'll buy again.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto Voluptuous
rated 4 of 5
blushie 1/19/2012 12:32:00 AM

In my opinion this mascara is the best out of all of Maybelline's range that I've tried, which is most of them. It seperates and volumises exactly like it says, and it builds quite well without turning clumpy. I use the black-brown for day because I find black shades too harsh on my pale skin, and then one of the black shades at night. The price is good and it regularly can be found on sale. I don't think I'll use it forever since I'm always searching for that "perfect" mascara, but I'll definitely keep using it until something else comes along.

Skincare - Body -LUSH - Silk Stockings Solid Body Tint
rated 3 of 5
blushie 1/19/2012 12:28:00 AM

Sally Hansen airbrush legs in the lightest shade is my favourite way to make my stupidly white legs look less frightening. But it can be messy and time consuming to apply, so this is for when I don't have the time/patience. It adds a pinky-gold sheen to the skin which just softens the whiteness by adding some warmth and vibrancy. I do wish it was a little more pigmented thoughm because smells really strongly floral, to the point where I feel it's overbearing if I put it on heavily. Saying that, Burberry Brit is the heaviest perfume I feel comfortable wearing (which I;ve heard described as light vanilla), so it's probably just my chemisty rather than the product. It looks lovely on the collarbones and arms too, and I'm going to try it as a blush as a reviewer suggested before me. If you are pale and feel a tan is just going to be too much but you still want something to make your skin look like it's "glowing' try this.
