Moisturizers -Kanebo - Sensai Premier La Creme
beautynyc 1/18/2006 11:01:00 PM
Well, after trying this product for about a week, I can tell you the feeling on your skin is exquisite. However, I really wasn't blown away with the results. I know, I know, a week isn't a long time, but for something this HIDEOUSLY EXPENSIVE, I was expecting something more than what I saw. It's a very nice product, but it's totally not worth the $600.00 plus tax price tag! I saw more results in one week from Re Vive's Moisturizing Renewal Cream, which is $135.00 a jar. I got a deluxe sample of this cream, I didn't spend the $600.00. However nice this stuff is, it won't knock ten years off your face, and the price is insulting.

Cleansers -Kanebo - Sponge Chief

I love this thing! Takes off all traces of cleanser, and I can feel a mild exfoliating action as well. I love how makeup can't stain this cloth! Just remember to splash a lot after removing your cleanser with this product to really flush out the pores. A keeper!

Great to keep in your gym bag and stuff like that. I'd never recommend that you use this to remove makeup at night, although I know some people do use it for this purpose. Would buy again.

OK, they tried again to push this crap with a "new and improved" formula. Liquid Styptic Pencil "Now in a tube!". Well, all I can say is what I said with my original review of A-Tox.....DON'T USE THIS JUNK! PERIOD! If you do, you'll be sorry in the long run!

Moisturizers -Serious Skin Care - A Copper Cream
beautynyc 1/18/2006 10:43:00 PM
I never understood the claims for this product. This was introduced a few years ago when Osmotics' Blue Copper Cream was gaining in popularity. Osmotics' claim was that the blue copper peptides in their product would stimulate skin healing and collagen production. A Copper from SSC was targeted for Oily skins yet they had the Osmotics jar out on their counter (with tape covering the name) on HSN, showing what you could pay for a cream containing copper. I found it totally rediculous since the claims SSC was making were completely different from the claims Osmotics were making. Just another ho-hum product, a "me too" item to try to get customers away from high performance creams containing copper. I can tell you, Osmotics customers would not trade Blue Copper for this stuff!

I can't begin to tell you what garbage this is, and how potentially aging this product can be. If you keep tightening and releasing the skin over and over and over, you will RUIN it's elasticity. You can actually create more premature wrinkles and sagging with products like these. Do NOT use this product, or anything like it....I'm warning you!!!

Skincare - Face -Revive - Intensite Creme Lustre
beautynyc 1/14/2006 11:37:00 PM
This is a great cream, it does what is says. It has quite a loyal cult following. I saw a marked improvement in the skin of a friend of mine who was using it for a while. This cream features IGF, Insulin-like Growth Factor. It helps prevent signs of aging and helps repair at the same time. It's effects are powerful, but things won't happen overnight. IGF is like a hormone, a signal to the skin to act the way it was when it was younger. The previous reviewer said there was no increase in firmness and the like after using one packet. These results can't be expected from just one packet. You need to use the cream faithfully for best results. You will see an increase in clarity, moisture, firmness and softened lines with continused use. I alternate this with Moisturizing Renewal Cream on alternating nights so I get the benefits of IGF in Intensite and EGF in the Renewal Cream. One of the best buys for the money!

Shampoo -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Shampoo

This product brings back memories of my time in Beauty School. All BAD! Unfortunately, this shampoo was the MOST DISGUSTING thing I've ever come across in the shampoo category. Of course, it's only the best for New York State schools! It was so thin and runny, and the smell, coupled with the scent of old ladies two week old roller set hair-do's made for an olfactory nightmare. Have you ever tried to lather up this shampoo on a head that only gets washed once or twice a month??? I've done my penance on earth with this one!!! AVOID!

Cleansers -Tracie Martyn - Amla Purifying Cleanser
beautynyc 1/14/2006 2:51:00 AM
I really don't know why she put so many fine ingredients into a product that gets washed off? For the miniscule amount of time they are on the skin, you really don't get any benefits at all. You can get great cleansers for a fraction of her price.

Don't belive the hype with this stuff! Has anyone besides me ever noticed that those Electric Toning Facials she's giving hae been around for DECADES??? Connie Stevens has an "at-home" electric toning facial device that's been around since at least 1994! HELLO!!! It's the muscle stimulation that lifts the skin, NOT her quite unremarkable $175.00 serum! Ms. Martyn must have a hell of a publicist, 'cause her stuff is selling very well, yet the products are ordinary at best. Save your money.

Styling Products -Ojon - Conditioning Volumizing Foam
beautynyc 1/14/2006 2:37:00 AM
I was unsure of what my results would be with this product, but WOW! This stuff works. I did not experience any stickiness that other reviewers mentioned, just really thick looking hair! I used the Volumizing Shampoo and Volumizing conditioner first. I doubt that made a difference, but this mousse is excellent! I highly recommend! UPDATE 02/03/06: I still can't get over how thick this makes my hair look! Absolutely blown away by this stuff! A Must Try!

Masks -Erno Laszlo - Hydra-Therapy Skin Vitality Treatment
beautynyc 1/4/2006 2:51:00 AM
This mask is wonderful! It actually helps to lower the skin's surface temperature by 15 degrees to help reduce stress. It's cooling and soothing, and I love that you can mix it fresh each time you use it. It's been around for years and is a best kept secret at Laszlo. I don't know, but I'm not loving the newer formulations from the new head chemist, I find the older treatments, like this mask, far better.
