Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap - Oily skin
bbybreanna 8/25/2012 4:31:00 PM
the bottle is really big but at the same the product is really thick, but i think the because of the size of the bottle this will last you a long time. it removes makeup great, even the indestructible revlon colorstay. although it doesnt remove colorstay COMPLETELY, it removes the majority of it. i use this mostly as a makeup remover followed by my cleanser. some people say this is drying, which i agree, but its not too overly drying. just follow up with a moisturizer and its fine. i dont use this anymore because i found a soap bar that can remove ALL my revlon colorstay, but this is still good cleanser.
Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Mechanical Eyelash Curler
bbybreanna 8/25/2012 6:05:00 AM
yes this lash curler is only a dollar and this kind of proves you get what you pay for & not all eyelash curlers are the same. although this didnt pinch or tug... it didnt CURL. i have to do it at least 8x to get a decent "curl". ugh. terrible. the curler itself is a bit bulky and i think the handles are awkward.
i've always been interested in benefit's boxed blushes... especially coralista. i got this in a little $12 kit with mini sized coralista. (which btw, i have a .1 oz of benefit hoola, the sample size, and those samples last a LONG time surprisingly) i have a pretty medium skintone - nw25. swatched, it's just light pink frosty blush. not really what i was looking for. on me you barely tell there's any blush, its just pure frost. not crazy shimmer, it looks really nice and glowy on the cheeks but i want some color! such a disappoitment. it's just pure frost. i really think this is better for light skintones. the texture is really smooth and not chalky at all. and it smells so good! like fruit loops! full price is $28 which is expensive, if you're looking for a frosty coral blush, i recommend mac's "style" blush. so in conclusion, 3 lippies for: - smell - texture - nice glow it gives minus 2 lippies for: - not really coral - no color, just frost
just got this on sale for $14, since tokidoki is leaving sephora. i think $14 is a pretty good price for high quality brushes. the brushes are really cute and a have a character's head on the oppisite end of the brush, which sometimes i think makes application just a bit harder because it makes the brush heavier to hold and the handle is pretty obnioxiously long. i will deal with it though because i love how soft the brushes are. my favorite is the crease brush. highly recommend getting this set on sale before the brand is discontinued.
it's not too overwhelming, it's a fresh and feminine scent. once it dries a little, the smell turns more flowery... which i don't really like but the scent doesn't change COMPLETELY. that's the only con and i would've gave this perfume 5 lippies if the scent didn't change slightly. not sure if this is longwearing... maybe 2-3 hours. but i should test it in more cooler weather since i've bought it during the summer and it's been HOT. i think a less-expensive dupe of this would be mac turquotic fragrance, i was planning on purchasing the mac one but i just decided to get this instead since i was already at sephora. this is easily found sephora and department stores.
Mascara -Maybelline - Illegal Length Fiber Extensions
bbybreanna 8/18/2012 4:37:00 PM
i have short and thin top and bottom lashes. this mascara works wonderfully at lenghtening it with just a LITTLE volume. its nothing too dramatic, but if you want you can keep adding layers to make your lashes even more thick and dramatic. the wand is thin but easy to work with. the packaging itself isnt anything special. in my experience, there was NO flaking, smudging, and no problem removing it with a facial cleanser.
Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - DUO eyelash adhesive
bbybreanna 8/2/2012 11:02:00 PM
does it what it says - eyelashes stay on all day. it dries in a decent amount of time. i believe its around $6 and you can find it anywhere - drugstores, sephora, mac, target, etc. the only con would be sometimes it doesnt dry clear so i have to run some black eyeliner over the glue. but really no big deal.
Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Nourishing Lip Balm with Mango Butter
bbybreanna 7/30/2012 1:28:00 AM
i love collecting lip balms... this is my first burts bees purchase. when i first opened and tried it in it kind of smelled like... cardboard? which really made me disgusted but then after reapplying it smelled like pineapples. im a big mango lover and i expected this to smell/taste like mango. but after another application i could smell the hint of mango. the product itself is not waxy at all, its very smooth, definitley moisturizing and hydrating. i want to try other ones, maybe the original formula. the packaging itself is pretty basic, yellow plastic with a red pop off cap. you can twist the product up to get more.
THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON USING ON LOWER WATERLINE! i assumed this would be good for the waterline since its waterproof... no. it didnt even last over an hour. it didnt COMPLETELY disappear but most of it was gone. its not creamy. maybe itd be good on lashlines. i got the mini version for my 100 point perk at sephora. if you need a good waterline pencil get mac techankohl.
Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
bbybreanna 7/16/2012 5:34:00 PM
i've read pages and pages of reviews on makeupalley, and watched countless reviews and tutorials using this foundation before i splurged $42 for this. to begin, my skin has SEVERE acne, almost all over my face, along with a bunch of acne scars. i know, i'm pretty much a pizza face. i know, i know... horrible. a foundation i need is full coverage, long lasting, but not cakey looking. which is pretty hard to find for me. i've tried estee lauder double wear, mac pro long wear, revlon colorstay, and makeup forever mat + velvet. maybe i just have high expectations, but none of those foundations have cut it. i've been using MUFE HD for about two weeks now. it does not give full coverage for my acne. one pump gives VERY sheer coverage. i've stippled this on my face using sonia's kashuk synthetic buffing brush (i know it's for buffing but when buffed, the finish is sheer and sometimes cakey.) and that gives the most natural look... for a while. the lasting power isn't that great... after about six hours it starts to fade and i can see my acne. i've used boots' color calming primer, tarte's flawless primer, and urban decay de slick and it still fades away after a while... having full coverage for over 12 hours is a lot to ask for, i know, but it WOULD be nice. to get full coverage i prolly use six pumps. yep, six pumps. i hate wasting product, especically since it's soo expensive. i don't have a concealer (i'm still on the hunt for my HG concealer... i've tried many.) and i'd prefer NOT to use a concealer because i hate putting so much makeup on. the foundation itself is not thick, and has no fragrance. the formulation is nothing like revlon colorstay. it's a bit running if you pump it on the back of your hand. it sets a bit quickly. the finish is satin... not too matte and not too dewy. but since i have pretty oily skin i set it with a powder. i really love the packaging, it looks so nice on my vanity. the pump is a MAJOR plus, very hygenic and easier to use. no i will not repurchase, since it doesn't provide full coverage. i'd say the coverage is sheer-medium. you can build the coverage to full but i don't want to be using a load of pumps since this is $42. i'm still on the hunt for my HG. if you disagree with my review, please remember i have a lot of acne and redness, with oily skin.
i forgot the name of the shade i have. sorry. :( i love the packaging of this lip balm/tint. it looks like a fat crayon, and all you have to do is twist up and more product comes out! it's really easy to apply. it's moisturizing, but not amazingly moisturizing like vaseline. the color is sheer, but noticeable, it's not in-your-face. i want to purchase more! they're $15 each.
Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Rose Lip Treatment SPF 15
bbybreanna 7/11/2012 12:15:00 AM
i have the mini from the sephora bday gift. it moisturizes beautifully and leaves a nice tint of red onto the lips. its not a bright in your face red, it looks very natural and adds a pop of color to your look. i dont think theres any undertone to this red - just plain red. i think this would suit anyone due to the sheerness, you can leave it sheer or add more red lipstick or a gloss. im not one to wear red lips, this is the only red i own! it lasts a decent amount a time, a little over an hour. this does melt/bend easily in the tin so dont screw up too much when applying. the packagaing itself has a screw off top and is metal. im not sure if id pay for the full size bc it is $21...
Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15
bbybreanna 7/11/2012 12:08:00 AM
i got a mini version of this for my birthday from sephora along with the rose shade. i love the smell of this balm, it smells like SUGAR. very sweet! the packaging has a screw off cap instead of a pop off cap which is kind of better when throwing this in your makeup bag or purse. the product itself is VERY moisturizing, not too heavy or sticky. chapstick and nivea cannot compare to this. this is more smooth and tasty. drugstore balms are more plain. this is way too expensive for a lip balm, i believe $21, and as much as i love this balm i am undecided if i should buy the full size or not. oh and also another complaint - this bends/melts way too easily so dont screw up too much product, just a little.
this is amazing as an all over body moisturizer after the shower. its also a great and affordable eye makeup remover! it removes any kind of eye makeup, waterproof or not, instantly. just make sure you rinse off properly. i squeeze a bit of baby oil onto a cotton bad and gently rub off any makeup is left on my eyes after cleansing, and its gone! definitley recommend! i wouldnt use this all over my face because its pure oil and i already have oily skin with acne.
i got a sample size of this in a benefit set and im glad i didnt buy the full size. i wasnt even interested in the product but since it came in a kit i decided to try just because. its supposbly a cream to powder foundation so i thought thered be at least some coverage... nope. no coverage at all. it has a weird texture and i hated how it felt on my fingers and face. i believe theres only three shades. the packaging is super cute though.
