Polishes -OPI - Big Apple Red
rated 5 of 5
babyjane14 11/11/2012 8:49:00 PM

This is my all-time favourite red nail polish. I have been using this for a few years and I will continue to repurchase this shade. It is a beautiful bright red shade but it isnt the usual 'fire-engine red' colour it has a deepness to it so its slightly darker but still bright. I apply 2 coats but if I was ever in a rush I could get away with just one coat definiately! Really impressed with the opacity of this OPI polish and its a fave for my toes :)

Lipstick -Rimmel - Colour Show Off - Shocking Pink
rated 5 of 5
babyjane14 11/8/2012 10:16:00 PM

My favorite hot pink lipstick. Cute packaging, long-lasting and doesn't feather (I do wear it with a lip liner though). It can feel drying at times but the longevity of this lipstick makes up for it as its to be expected. I seem to always get compliments on this whenever I wear it and I believe it would suit all skin tones. It has a slight cool/blue tone to it and I have warm/yellow undertones and it still suits me well so its versatile. Really affordable and I def recommend you try it out!

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F82 Round Top Synthetic Kabuki
rated 5 of 5
babyjane14 11/8/2012 10:07:00 PM

My second fave in the Synthetic Kabuki line from Sigma! Use it for applying liquid foundation and blending out concealer. Very easy to use, gives a beautiful effect to the skin, making it look flawless. It really does make the foundation offer its best coverage while still looking natural as its blended into the skin. Thoroughly recommend

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F84 Angled Top Synthetic Kabuki
rated 5 of 5

LOVE THIS BRUSH! I use it for applying liquid foundation and blending out concealer and no standard foundation brush will ever compare! Great brush for buffing in foundation and making it look seamless. Only downside is the tough task of trying to get it clean again! The angle of this brush stands out in the Synthetic Kabuki line as its really handy at getting into the crevices of your face and shaping your eye makeup. Very dense bristles, sturdy handle and very easy to use. Thoroughly recommend

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - E10 Small Eye Liner (was SS210)
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 11/8/2012 9:55:00 PM

After using this for some time now I can say this has been the best eye liner brush I have found so far, but it isn't completely perfect though. The brush is very fine and the hairs do not stray so it makes applying gel liner a lot easier! I do find that at times it can be that bit too stiff so it doesn't apply as smoothly as I would like so that's the only downside. I prefer to use liquid eyeliner now as I've found one with a really thin brush but happy to have this on hand.

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - Face of Australia Liquid Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
babyjane14 11/8/2012 8:27:00 PM

MY NEW HG EYELINER! After so many years of using MAC's Fluidline, being so stressed out when having to apply eyeliner, using different types of kohl pencils, liquid eye markers, gel liners and other liquid liners, nothing even comes close to being as easy as using this. The brush is perfect, its extremely pigmented and very easy to use and I can finally get a thin line with no worries! Without primer this lasts throughout a whole day with no smudges and with primer its undefeatable! I've even worn this on a hot day, riding a jet-ski which means water splashing all over me, without any primer and this did NOT budge! Very happy I found this and will continue to repurchase.

Powder -Australis - Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 11/8/2012 8:11:00 PM

After hearing that this was a dupe for MAC's Studio Fix Powder for so long (which I wasn't willing to splurge on as so many break out from it), I finally caved in and picked this up and I'm really glad I did. I have it in the darkest shade 'Darkest Brown' which would suit I believe up to NC35-37, or maybe even NC40. A bit of a bummer if you're any darker as Australis doesn't cater to deeper skin tones :( But if you find a match I really do recommend this powder. I use it for touch ups during the day as I have a really oily t-zone. It actually doesn't control my oilies as well as my HG Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder, but I love this for touch ups as I wear a medium coverage bb cream on most days, so the extra coverage from this ensures I look fresh faced and matte. This doesn't make me look cakey either. It is oil-free and non-comodegenic which is a plus for me as I am very acne-prone. This has definitely not broken me out, yay! Affordable and a great product, highly recommend.

Misc Beauty Tools -Australis - Makeup Finishing Spritz
rated 3 of 5
babyjane14 11/8/2012 12:47:00 AM

So far I have been really enjoying this! I use it to get rid of the powdery look after setting my foundation and also as a pick me up during the day. It has a mild rose scent that doesn't linger for too long afterwards, which I was relieved about because I don't care much for the scent. In terms of prolonging my makeup I actually do feel I look that little bit more put together at the end of the day, but definitely doesn't have any outstanding effects. Packaging is simple and cute. The pink liquid is a nice touch. Overall I'm pretty happy with it as my first impression but still undecided as to whether I will repurchase.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Refreshing Body Mist in Vanilla-Coconut Passion
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 11/7/2012 7:17:00 PM

In Aus we can only get Victoria Secret products at the store in Sydney Airport so I bought this off an American seller on eBay for a little under the AUS RRP. I wanted this as I love Coconut scents but the body mist is extremely vanilla-ery. I still love it though and its always in my handbag and on my desk at work! I would say it has medium sillage and I got complimented by a colleague on the scent after having it on for a few hours which is always a good sign. The new packaging with the yellow background & pink flowers is really pretty too

Shampoo -Batiste - Dry Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 10/4/2012 10:33:00 PM

Pretty good dry shampoo. Used this for a couple years after the one from Kloraine was too expensive. Did the job, but I actually noticed it left tiny white particles in my hair, almost like dandruff. I would notice it after brushing/rubbing this out so it definitely was the culprit. I still recommend this though but Target in Aus have their own dry shampoo now for only $1.99 and its actually amazing! I need to use less product, doesn't leave anything behind, nice choice of scents, the can lasts longer than batiste I've found and for so cheap it really has impressed me! (Really loved the scent in the purple can with the disco ball from Batiste!)

Shampoo -Organix - Tea Tree Mint Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 10/4/2012 10:24:00 PM

I moved on from this to the Coconut Milk Shampoo in the Organix line, as I think this is either discontinued now in Australia or they've stopped stocking it as it wasn't that popular. I did use this for a fair while though and retailing at only $6 it was a huge steal! First off, it smells exactly like mint chocolate. But unfortunately the scent doesn't linger and immediately disappears when you come out of the shower. I have very oily hair and I have to wash my hair daily or use a crap load of dry shampoo. This definitely dries out the hair somewhat, so if you were looking for something hydrating I would recommend the Cherry Blossom version, which made my hair oily within the same day as washing it. Since the Tea-Tree Mint shampoo was drying it actually did wonders for my oily hair! Tea Tree Oil is supposed to be really good for oily hair which is what made me buy it in the first place. I love the Organix line as they're Sulfate free but definitely advise using a clarifying shampoo to remove build-up, thats what sulfate is good for. Recommend this to anyone who can get their hands on it and is suffering from oily hair

Mascara -Rimmel - Extra Wow Lash
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 9/23/2012 8:54:00 PM

Really surprised at how good this mascara is. I got it for free and have been using this as my daily mascara for work & on weekends when I'm only going out for a few hours. I'm one of those people who rely on waterproof mascaras as my lashes like to drop down after curling them and I also get watery eyes a fair bit. I had to get used to the drier formula and the length of the brush as I use Maybelline mascaras which are very wet and more compact, but this really does apply well. It lasts a long time, doesn't smudge or flake off on me and has a really good hold on my lashes so that they don't droop down and just disappear! Its also really easy to remove. Really happy I was given this as I wouldn't have tried it otherwise.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Boi-ing
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 9/23/2012 8:43:00 PM

I went to Myer to initially try out Benefit's Erase Paste and after the girl applied it to my under eye area it literally gave me a wet look under my eyes and didn't conceal at all. She then tested out the Boi-ing concealer and I was immediately impressed with it. I have it in the shade medium 02 and it has a slight pink undertone to it which works really well at correcting the blue-ness of my under eyes and it has quite good coverage to brighten up the area as well. I haven't tried much concealers so I'm no expert but this is by far the best one I have ever tried for correcting my under eye area. I use this with my ring finger (as its the most gentle apparently), and smooth and tap it on. It easily warms up with your fingers that's why I prefer to apply it this way. It hasn't creased at all on me, but I do set it with powder. On a side note: I have acne-prone skin and I dont use this on blemishes as the mineral oil in this product flares up my spots. Really loving Benefit's Boi-ing concealer!

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector for Combination to Oily Skin - Light
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 9/15/2012 1:22:00 AM

I use this as an everyday foundation. It works perfectly for me as I want a light feeling, medium coverage, that looks natural but is matte. I wouldn't classify this as true BB Cream from what I've seen this doesn't have the right texture & the ingredients list doesn't match up with what traditional Asian BB Creams would have. It lasts fairly well, I apply it in the morning around 8 and when I come home the coverage is still there, which amazes me for something so lightweight. I do top it up with a setting powder but I did that with another foundation I used daily and it started to disappear around lunchtime! I have been using this since it was released here in Australia and have repurchased this 3 times. I am in the shade Medium and for reference I have a NC35-37 skin tone. Two things I have noticed though is that it does transfer and that the product likes to leak out of the tube so I store it with the lid upright when possible. I am still so amazed every time I apply this, I can't get over how for something so runny and smooth to give such a nice coverage. Highly recommend this!

Polishes -OPI - Princesses Rule
rated 4 of 5
babyjane14 9/15/2012 1:03:00 AM

My go to light shimmery pink polish. I got this in a duo with Bubble Bath (which I haven't tried yet). I apply my Orly Bonder, a coat of Sally Hansen's First Blush, which is a sheer baby pink, and then this over the top! I prefer to apply a pink first as a base to make this polish look more opaque. It is extremely shimmery and as usual can be hard to completely remove. Even if you want an extremely natural look just applying this straight to your nails will look really pretty and feminine!
