The reason i bought this was because while at Ulta i was $2 short of being able to use my coupon! :p I needed something around two dollars that i would actually use- so that it was not just a waste of two dollar junk that would sit around. When i saw this lotion on sale for $4, I figured i would give it a try. I was unsure at first because of the smell (you know what i am talking about). I figured that I would use it on my legs & feet if i hated the smell or the lotion after buying it. The smell was odd at first, but I got used to it and now it doesn't bother me at all. I love the thick creamy texture of the lotion and it rubs right in! btw, I did not buy this for the claim of it being able to firm me. I do not believe any lotion product can do that. I would buy it again if it was on sale & I had a coupon.
Gels/Soaps -Olay - Olay Silk Whimsy Cleansing Body Wash

I usually buy body wash based on how it smells, and get a new one each time. There has only been one body wash (caress exotic oil infusion) that was horrible for the product itself causing me to break out. I got this body wash because i needed my HG olay face cleanser, and i had a coupon for a free body wash when i bought the face cleanser. This was the only olay body wash on the shelf so i picked it up. The smell is horrible, it is a way to strong granny smell, and it lingers a little too long. I wish I was able to smell the others because this definitely was not the smell for me! I like the smell of almonds but this doesn't smell like almond to me, just rose smell.. . which i hate. yuck. The consistency of the product is good, works well, but the smell is just killing it. I´m going to give this body wash to my H....... once he uses up the other one that i hated the smell of! :p
Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Cococare Cocoa Butter Lip Balm

After seeing this at walgreens time after time, i decided to buy it because i wanted to buy something. This fit the bill because it was only a buck and some change. The smell is a little chocolate-y, but imo it isn't overpowering or strong.(and i am usually one to prefer unscented and hate most smells :p ) This glides right on my lips and has a thin/slippery texture once its on. It actually keeps my lips moist for a very long time. I´ve used a ton of lip balms, and this is my new favorite- All my flakes are gone (they weren't going away even with gentle exfoliation),& this got rid of dry, cracking, yuck lips after just a day or so. i have the one that doesn't have the sunscreen and haven´t seen the one with the sunscreen in it ever in the store.

Finally i found this. So happy i did. I got this from Walgreens, it was $30, and i got the $20 cleanser free which is 6oz. Its a basic cleanser, no bells or whistles. You could use it with any cleanser, and i definately would have to be a loony to spend $20 on a cleanser that just gets washed down the drain. So when my free one runs out, i would just use my regular cleanser with the brush. The bottom part was not hard to open because i just popped if off with a knife and that was that. The brush is soooo soft (even on the higher speed) that anyone with acne or extremely sensitive skin could use this! Both speeds feel great on my face, i dont have a preference yet! Your skin with be so soft after, and your moisturizer will just glide on your face. I recommend this to everyone, in fact if there is anyone who you have to buy a gift for, buy them this. It is thirty some bucks well spent! update: 2/5/12- I rarely use this anymore, I have not used it in months. I now use a wash cloth to exfoliate my face. I still think it is gentle but I prefer a wash cloth.
Blush -Sonia Kashuk - Beautifying Blush in Flamingo

So I have no clue how I heard about this blush first, but it was a “paula’s pick” on beautypedia, and the ratings were really good here. The blush was $9.73 which is more than double the price i have paid for some blushes that i have been happy with. But i needed a change from the blushes i currently have.. .. .. something matte without the shimmer, without the shine, without any of that glitter!! I am cool toned pale, and maybe I am paler than the rest of the reviewers because this went on with a “punch” the first swirl around. Not a bad punch, but it was a very NATURAL difference. So I would have to say the pigmentation, for a pale person, would be just right the first swipe or two around. I love that this was matte and that was what attracted me to it in the first place. The color of this blush is a really nice pink. I am cool toned pale, and this looks very natural on me.
this is a thicker coverage foundation, and i decided to break this out and use it again when my skin was acting up. i SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER! well, i have never had any good experiences with exuviance products, they have all made my eyes water or made my skin feel like they were burning.. the foundation didn´t bother me while it was on, but later in the day when i took off the foundation, my skin was red and looked burned. its now redish brown and scaly. thanks exuviance. i slept with a bandaid and neosporin for two nights and no improvements yet. this will work for some ppl, but just not me.
I got this mascara in a holiday special pack at walmart. This mascara, lash stiletto, & define a lash all full sized ones for $5. I used lash stiletto first, and this was my second to try. This mascara doesn’t smell funny to me. I’ve come to realize I prefer curved & thinner type brushes. So personally, I didn’t like the mascara brush. Let me start off to say, woah, never in my life did I have a mascara that flaked this much. I don’t rub my eyes, I’m not touching the eye part of my face, and looking in the mirror I have black flakes all under my eyes, almost as if I had under eye discoloration made out of black flakes. I curl my eyelashes before putting this on, and my eyelashes go back to being uncurled straight lashes within no time, literally. Now, if this held a curl & didn't flake on my face would i re-buy it than? No, other mascara's have made my lashes look better, and i hate the wand.
Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit

the price of this was about $4, i got it because i love lip balms. this is not one i reach for very often though. *the packaging is cute, its different. In fact i think that is the only selling point of this lip balm. *the smell is not bad, i don't think it has a chemical smell, but it could be because i am already used to the way it smells. *It is a really thin lip balm, i like my balms a little thicker. It also does not moisturize as much as some of the other balms i have. *it is organic, but to tell you the truth, it doesn't matter to me if a product is or not. a lot of these organic products now a days are full of irritating ingredients.
Ok, i know everyone is anti petroleum and anti mineral oil... but its all one big beauty myth. yes it does just sit on top of the skin and there are plenty of things that could be better.... but this is not that bad. I sometimes use it on my lips overnight, i put one of my thinner balms underneath. also i´ve use it to rub in my cuticles, which is not completely amazing, but its not total junk either. its dirt cheap, it comes jar which means unless you have some tool to scoop it out you are contaminating it with your finger. all in all, this is an average product that has been around forever, for what it costs you have nothing to lose if you are actually interested in using this for something.

so i got one of these facial brushes from a dollar store, and it cracked, so i figured this would be a comparable replacement. NO WAY, NOT EVEN CLOSE! this brush is hard and scratchy and horrible compared to my dollar store face brush! AND cost DOUBLE and a HALF! i am sad and disappointed, and hope that the dollar store will still have the nice soft ones.
i just don´t get it! i wanted to love this knowing all the benefits of grape seed oil on the skin, but it dried out my skin more instead of actually moisturizing it! which is something that puzzles me! i bought now foods brand from gnc , and i am just hoping that they have a good return policy, i have had the stuff for less than a week, and my skin doesn't like it. if they don´t let me return it i will use it for makeup remover and wash my face after. update 10/15/10: i did return this to gnc, wasn't worth the money. but i only put this at a 3 because this oil makes my skin feel tight, and drier. I kept it that i would not buy again, but i would recommend anyone (oily?) to try this and see how their skin reacts. Grapeseed oil is an astringent & drying oil, I did not know that before when I first used the product. if you do decide to try this, buy this at a grocery store/health food store because it will be cheaper. my grocery store had a sale 16oz for $3 and GNC's now foods was $10 for 16oz.
Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Jojoba Oil - 100% pure
ashley92504 10/2/2010 6:39:00 PM
I wanted to love this , i really did. with the weather changing and getting colder, and my skin changing to a dryer version of my own.. well i bought this at gnc, now foods pure 100% jojoba oil, it was golden color, with the scent that everyone keeps talking about, the first day i was like hey great, i´m gonna have dewy nice skin that isn't dry and tight, ok first day fine, day two, Halloween? no, but that's what it felt like looking in the mirror, my face has tons of little bumps and it looks disgusting, (to me). and i have never had tons of little bumps like this before. i hope gnc has a good return policy because i have no use for this unless i use it as a makeup remover and than wash my face. i also used it on my hands because they are drier now that the weather is changing, and it did not add any moisture, i think i am in that minority that gets ¨drier¨ skin from oil, which i don´t get why that would happen , and if you know please tell me!! i also don´t get how this is used as the top choice for people with acne? i have normal skin, and tons of bumps from using this just 3 days! ******update 10/15/10: i changed from 1 lippie to 5 lippies, and i put that i would buy this again. i returned the GNC now foods jojoba oil, and let my bumpy creature of the night skin go back to normal before trying Desert Essence jojoba oil, not the organic one, but the hair skin & scalp one. to get rid of the bumps, i used my neutrogena hydrating acne treatment for about *10 days* until my skin was back to normal. i jumped right in using this stuff again after my skin cleared because my face was dry! and i wanted to have hope that this would work for me by switching brands. a fellow mua-er let me know that the bumps are very common, and jojoba is a purging type of wax, and if you go through this purging you end up better than you were before. I needed my skin to not feel so darn dry. this first thing i noticed different about desert essence was that it hardly had a smell at all, the now foods one i had before was VERY VERY strong smelling and much darker in color. I have been using desert essence jojoba oil on my face for 5 days now, so i think it is safe to say i am not going to have another reaction. and i have non tight, just right moisturized skin, thank goodness with the change of weather, and turning on the heat.
we got the family size for under two bucks. I must say i am impressed, and i like the idea of this being a non conditioning shampoo, because after a while i can tell when my hair has too many conditioning agents in it from shampoo. my husband likes this shampoo too, he described it as " i love how stripped my hair feels" ... now of course he thinks his hair feels "stripped" because he was using pantene classic care shampoo and my neutrogena daily deep conditioner on his short hair.... every day.. so after our shampoo ran out, i decided to try this because paula begoun recommended it and i checked the reviews on here to see if they backed it up,and the reviews are GREAT!!, i have and used to use neutrogena anti residue shampoo, and that one freaking stinks like old man just too bad that i just don't use it anymore- this one is by far greater than the neutrogena anti residue shampoo, because this one does not have an all day old man stink to it, just fresh clean hair smell.
i LOVE this color! It is one of my favorite lip colors, the only problem is that this color is SO hard to find, it took me months to find it, until one day i stumbled into cvs and found this one. There isn't a spot/"name tag" (you know what i mean!) for this color anymore, so i don't know how this one managed to end up there! it was 7 or 8 dollars, a little pricey for ds lip gloss, but i guess that is about average, and i did not buy it on sale or anything. i have pale skin, i could be part of the cullen family pale skin, it is cool toned, and this was a milky pinkish lavender color, neutrogena coy used to be my favorite lip gloss years ago, and my friend recommended i try this color. and it looks great! i do not look washed out, i don't look dead or ghostly . the pink stands out enough to look good. i love the texture of the lip gloss, i hate when lip glosses are thin and slimy, this one is thicker and stays on pretty good without being sticky. this color would probably look the best on a cool toned and light skinned person. i hope that once i run out of this tube, i will be able to find this again! why is it so hard to find? i also want pink pop, and that one is also MIA from the stores by me.
Lip Treatments -Alba Botanica - Coconut Cream Lip Balm
ashley92504 9/13/2010 11:17:00 AM
I got this at CVS for $2. It is different than other twist up lip balms in the fact that you twist it from the top instead of the bottom. I think this is going to be one of new favorite/top lip balms. the smell is nice and light, not overpowering. its nearly PERFECT texture! its not too thin, and not so thick that you would want to wipe it off, it is the perfect thickness to make your lips feel properly coated. it lasts a long time when your not eating/drinking/brushing your teeth/whatever, and it was good for using overnight, because i did wake up with it still on in the morning, and i rarely find products that have that overnight lasting power. my other favorite for overnight is cvs essence of beauty lip butters in strawberry banana. the only thing that would improve this would be adding a sunscreen in it. and i have not experienced the "gritty" sand feeling yet, but i also haven't been using it for more than a few days. 11/6/10--> still no gritty feeling!
