Lip Gloss -LORAC - Sweet Temptations
anastacy 2/6/2013 1:57:00 PM
I was sort of disappointed with this purchase. The flavour of these are very true to description but the lighter shades (peaches and pink) are indiscernible on my deep skintone. I can also feel the glitter on my lips which feels pretty chunky. Eww!!! The formula is very heavy and sticky. It feels very uncomfortable on the lips. I wished I got 2011 tie for dye holiday collection instead of this. There are drugstore lipglosses that perform and feel way better than these. Very disappointing purchase!

Mascara -Urban Decay - Supercurl Curling Mascara
anastacy 2/6/2013 1:48:00 PM
I tried this mascara and I must say its not bad but its not great either. I found it to be very black, it holds a curl pretty good and separates lashes well. The formula is not goopy too. However, it does not lengthen or volumize. Its just an average mascara. I got this as part of BOS IV so it didnt pay extra for this and I would never consider buying this on its own because there are so many comparable and better mascaras at the drugstore at a fraction of the cost of this. Never purchase this and never will!

Concealers -NYX - Full Coverage Concealer Jar
anastacy 11/20/2012 8:39:00 PM
This is a really good concealer. It is thick and covers well. I have the shade in Tan and it covers without being too grey or yellow. When set it with a powder, it does not budge. I prefer wearing this when it is cold out as it is very emollient ( a nice way of saying greasy on a humid day.) This may not be good for a person with oily skin. The jar is neat and small. I have this for about a year and a half and haven't even reached the bottom (considering that I have 3 others in rotation ,1 being used in considerably more than the rest). If you dont like to close things, you may have a problem with this as the name says, in a jar. You have to use a clean finger or brush. I use either one.

Palettes -Urban Decay - 15 year anniversary palette
anastacy 11/20/2012 8:04:00 PM
I'm sorry UD but this palette was a an epic disappointment. I am an avid UD e/s palette collector, and I must say that this palette really did not live up to the hype and my expectations. For starters, the packaging is very attractive and shiny. But all that glitters is not gold. This palette is very impractical. You cannot travel with it. The top cover is unhinged to the bottom without a magnet. Insane! I dare not rest it anywhere in my dressing area because I'm scared what could happen if it fell. Not forgeting that the part that houses the e/s can also be separated (when finished you can use it fto store keepsakes). We'll buy a keepsake if we need one. No thanks. The case holds finger prints worse than a crime scene too! Now for the e/s... Midnight Rodeo is a deep cool tone brown shadow. Nicely pigmented with silver shimmers. L'Oreal 24 infallible e/s in "bronzed taupe" is a spot on dupe. Tainted is pretty pink lilac with gold shimmers. Applies sheer and is very powdery. Deeper is rich mid tone golden brown shade very similar to Smog Midnight 15 is a light taupy shade. Very shimmery. Junkshow is similar to Woodstock but it applies more pigmented. It is learns more fuschia. MIA is a very deep chocolatey brown similar to Darkhorse but is more shimmery and cool toned Vanilla is one of the most unique shades placed in this palette. Think vanilla ice cream - rich off white color with a golden sheen. Really gorgeous shade and only stand out shade for me! Omen is a mid tone frosty purple - not very original looking like Rockstar or Flash Ace is a standard metallic grey shade. Gunmetal is much better. Flow was a great disappointment for me. I was expecting a very warm coppery/coral/orangey shade. It is very pale, not very pigmented and flakes off during the course of the day. Boo!! Evidence is a blacken navy blue shade. Blackout is a very pigmented matte black shade. Much deeper and easier to work with than Perversion. It is the only matte shade included. Chase is pretty golden shade. Not as rich and warm as Half Baked. Deep End is nice teal shade. It is very much in the middle of blue and green and much more pigmented than Flipside and Shattered. What it lacks however is the duochrome capabilites. Half Truth looks like a knock off of Gravity. This palette lacks the excitement and enthusiasm of use with the other UD palettes. It is the least used of all my UD palettes. Although the e/s were very pigmented (for the most part) the textures were mono tone, the shades lacked duochrome capabilites which UD e/s are known to have. Usually when I order my palettes online and get it, the shades I didnt expect to like, I usually end up loving. UD palettes are usually full of unexpected surprises, good ones that is. Well I got a surprise myself, I dont like this palette. I dislike it so much that I hesitated ti buy the Vice palette until the opportunity of a FF sale came along. Still awaiting my package :) I am still an UD fan, but please stop putting out duds like this. Tears, tears, there is a first for everything and this the first time I'm giving any UD product a failing grade.

Polishes -China Glaze - High Hopes
anastacy 11/20/2012 1:22:00 PM
I went to the beach and I saw a friend wearing this bright fun beautifully balanced pink coral shade on her toes. I asked her what she was wearing and she said that she didnt know and that she usually mix colours. The next day the hunt was on for this shade. the closest colour I had in my collection that was remotely close was 'Sunset Prisms' by Maybelline. I then stumbled upon this CG shade. I wasnt sure of the shade and i bought 2 other CG shades that fell in that colour family just for security (Thataway and Make Some Noise). I was not disappointed to say the least. The color is vibrant and opaque after one coat (no top coat necessary). No smudging or chipping. It dries quickly. Worth the investment.

Polishes -China Glaze - Reggae to Riches
anastacy 11/19/2012 11:50:00 AM
In the bottle, this is a bright deep fushia/magenta colour with a dual chrome finish. I am hugely disappointed with this particular shade because it does not appear as opaque, rich and most importantly dark as it is in the bottle. I bought it because it seemed unique but its sheer application seemed more like a Revlon n/p which name escapes me now. This is not good enough given the price thought the color is ok. After 2 coats the build up is not opaque enough. Sorry CG, this does not get a passing grade.

Polishes -China Glaze - Thataway
anastacy 10/28/2012 3:37:00 PM
I'm surprised that this product has such low reviews. I love this color. It is a coral shade that leans more on the orange side. It looked a bit frosty in the bottle but it isnt. It has a satin finish. Love. It is very opaque. If you are in a rush, you can do a base coat and one coat. You dont have to do a top coat. Its that opaque. No streaking, peeling, bubbles and it dries relatively quickly. Really great shade!!!

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Clarifying Pressed Powder
anastacy 9/21/2012 3:35:00 PM
This is a really good powder and a steal too! I have this in the shade "Spice". I had this for a while and I began using this when I misplaced my setting powder. This sets foundation nicely without giving an overly matte and chalky finish when used with a fluffy powder brush. It does not settle into lines and adds a little coverage as well. It is relatively small and finishes pretty quickly. I dont use the puff and the packaging is not much to talk about. Very basic- Cheap plastic, puff included with no mirror. But I still appreciate it to some extent because it is small and compact for clutch purse. I'm not too loyal with pressed powders but I'm positive I'll get this again because of the quality given for price.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Wild Shine Lip Lacquer in Rapture
anastacy 9/21/2012 10:11:00 AM
This is a really great brick red/brown shade. The formula is smooth and moisturizing. There is great shine too. The color is not too opaque but not sheer either. I guess the texture gave this l/s that quality. I hate the packaging though. I really hate clear caps on l/s and the product does not go all the way back down after use so there is a likelihood of nicking and damaging the product as well as messing up the clear cover. The packing is cheap and kind of embarrassing. I dont think I've ever left home with it. But the formula and color is nice given the price.

Blush -Milani - Baked Blush - Rose D'Oro
anastacy 9/19/2012 9:09:00 AM
I'm really not feeling this product so much. This a coppery rose baked blush. For starters, I think there is some chunky glitter in this. Secondly, this is not buildable. I am medium brown and this a very strong shade for my skintone. It is very hard blush to blend out and the glitter spreads quickly over other areas on the face. It needs to be worked into the skin and this is not time effective especially before work. This blush is not my taste. It is a bit "showy" and if you like your cheeks to be the highlight of your face this may be good for you. I just think that this blush is not work appropriate, its hard to put a quick look together with this and just requires too much planning. The packaging is bulky too which does not help :(

Blush -Milani - Smooth Finish Blush - Luminous
anastacy 9/19/2012 8:58:00 AM
This blush is more like a highlighter for me because of my skintone. But I still appreciate what this product does. The formula is very smooth, silky and it applies like a dream. The pink peach shade has a golden sheen/undertone. Blushes that are too light for us brown girls tend to appear ashy on the skin but this doesnt. It gives the skin a golden luminousity with a peach tone which makes it look more natural. No chunky glitter here. The packaging is a bit clunky but I could live with it because I really love the product inside the packaging way more.

Mascara -Almay - One Coat Dial Up
anastacy 9/17/2012 2:57:00 PM
I like this mascara. Its not the best I've tried but its great. I like the comb type brush. It applies evenly and does not make a mess during application to the lower lash line or the inner corner. The formula is wet but not watery. I just use #3 on the dial. I think the chubby packaging is a bit clumpsy IMO. But for my lashes I get length not necessarily volume. My bf noticed my lashes recently when I wore this and men usually dont notice things like this. So I guess this mascara did something right.

Polishes -China Glaze - Spontaneous
anastacy 9/17/2012 2:49:00 PM
This colour is gorgeous. It is a medium purple with a creme finish. This is the right balance as it does not pull too blue or red. I rediscovered this in my collection. I think CG polished are priced pretty high but stand out shades like this make the price worth it. It applies smooth, opaque, dries quickly and evenly. And most importantly, it does not chip or peel as fast.

Lip Liners -NYX - Slim Lip Pencil - Ever 828
anastacy 9/12/2012 1:56:00 PM
I cant believe I've just stumbled across this l/l recently on a shopping trip. This is such a sophisticated medium red/brown shade that works so well alone. The shade is rich and the texure is smooth without being too dry or waxy. It is very long lasting. My only complaint is that the pencil requires sharpening which is personal preference I guess. But no other complaints here.

Lip Liners -Jordana - Easyliner for Lips in Baby Berry
anastacy 9/12/2012 1:50:00 PM
I saw Emilynoel83 rave about this on Youtube for a while. I really dont know what stopped me from jumping on the train with this one. When I got it I was hooked. I had to collect all I could get my hands on. It is a gorgeous deep rose/purple/berry shade that looks stellar all on its own but provides a great base shade for a lipstick or gloss. The formula is smooth and long lasting. The packaging was great for the price, the pencil is slim and best of all, does not require sharpening. I'd say the value is far more than the miniscule price tag attached to this.
