Shampoo -L'Oreal - L'Oreal Kids Shampoo- Fruity Apricot

this stuff smells great and is very moisturizing! I bought it and actually started using as a bodywash instead of shampoo - worked great! definitely wakes you up in the morning :)
Powders -Urban Decay - Red Hot Flavored Body Powder
allecto 3/13/2004 9:43:00 PM
I really like this powder. It gives a nice shimmer without being overwhelmingly glittery (ie, it doesn't make you look like a teenager!) and it smells and tastes great...spicy, reminds me a lot of the candies it gets its name from :) My only gripe is the packaging, sometimes it's hard for me to get a decent amount out of the little holes in the plastic. I'll probably repurchase, although not soon - this stuff lasts!
Lotions/ Creams -OPI - Avojuice in Grapefruit Juice
allecto 3/13/2004 9:36:00 PM
I absolutely ADORE this lotion :) The packaging is great (pump doesn't clog easily and doesn't leak), it smells fresh and clean (I LOVE grapefruit scented lotions and have tried many) and the formula is light and VERY moisturizing! I loved it so much I got a large bottle for home, small for work, and tiny one for my purse (Ulta has a set like this for $24 - great deal). Highly recommend - this will be a staple in my house!
LOVE it :) Not only does this face mask smell incredible, it peels off relatively easily with little pain, and makes your skin feel incredible! I tend to break out on my back too in the warm months - tried it and it cleared up my skin a lot. Great stuff - can't beat it for the price! I'm going to try the scrubs and other products too now...
I thought this was just awful - obviously I'm in the minority here :p I have VERY dry, curly thick hair - so maybe this works well for people with other hair types. It was okay, but nothing like what I expected from the rave reviews. Actually NEEDED leave-in after this b/c my hair was knotted. So glad I only bought the $3 travel size! Two thumbs down - maybe some of their other intense treatments are better :(
Treatments -TiGi - Bed Head Chocolate Head Massive Hair Repair Treatment
allecto 3/13/2004 8:43:00 PM
I didn't think this did ANYTHING for my hair in terms of massive repair. Didn't even moisturize at all! My hair is really dry, and I was hoping for something intensive that smelled good too (I don't like the smell of a lot of intensive conditioners). It smells AWESOME, but that's about it. Won't be repurchasing. Oh, and I also thought the cap was a pain to deal with, esp. with wet hands in the shower.
Candles -Primal Elements - Colorbowl Candles (General)
allecto 3/10/2004 10:54:00 PM
These candles are wonderful! Since I love Primal's soap scents, I figured I'd try one out - and I chose Coconut Macaroon. It's true to the name - fresh, sweet baked coconut scent that makes your house smell divine. My dog goes crazy = P Just bought one in Margarita too for a cleaner scent...I'll definitely be repurchasing LOTS. I've tried the travel candle in Tahitian Vanilla, which is nice also. The colorbowls are $15 for the large, which lasts quite awhile - I burn it every night and have had it a couple of weeks already. Oh and the coolest part - these look REALLY pretty while burning due to the gel pieces - kind of a stained glass effect!!! I'll probably start buying these as gifts also...
Gels/Soaps -Molton Brown - Thai Vert Fine Liquid Hand Wash
allecto 3/10/2004 10:45:00 PM
Got a free sample of this from Neiman and I just wanted to comment on how GOOD it smells! Very fresh and citrus-ey, with a bit of spice to it. I didn't find it to be as moisturizing as everyone else thought...but I have very dry skin, AND live in Arizona, so that could be it. I wouldn't buy the handwash for myself, but possibly for a guest bath. I will probably check out the other stuff in this scent though.... ;)
Moisturizers -Kiehls - Lycopene Facial Moisturizing Lotion [DISCONTINUED]
allecto 3/10/2004 10:26:00 PM
This stuff is amazing! I took one lippie off b/c the packaging isn't my favorite - I squeeze gently and get a HUGE gob of lotion - seems wasteful, esp. at this price! It's very moisturizing (actually I have dry skin and it makes my shiny/glowy looking) and smells delightful (like carrots, I guess). Even though it's pretty expensive for the size, it doesn't take much - and it makes your skin soooo soft.....I will repurchase. I'll probably check out some other facial products in the Kiehls line too! = )
This was okay, but I wouldn't really recommend it for super dry/frizzy hair (what i have). I got a sample in a gwp from Neiman, and the one thing i wanted to comment on is that this stuff smells INCREDIBLE! Like a coconut smoothie, or something like that. Would be great for lower maintenance hair, esp. since it makes it soft and pretty well moisturized. Just wasn't enough for me....
I adore this fragrance! I bought the EDP from Neiman's website on a whim, having read reviews here but never smelled it....and it's a hit. :) Actually reminds me a lot of my favorite perfume (Hanae Mori Butterfly) but it is a bit muskier, stronger scent and lasts ALL day! Husband liked a lot too. I definitely smell vanilla or almonds, but not sure what else? I actually think the bottle is adorable...if you're a Burberry fan.
Lip Gloss -Passport - La Playa Lip Gloss To Go 4-Pack
allecto 3/3/2004 8:05:00 PM
LOVE this set! As others have mentioned, all of the colors are nice and the scent of the product is WONDERFUL. I only gave it a 3 on the packaging b/c it is tough to get a lot of product out. My favorite is Baht, a lovely rose color with gold shimmer. I'll definitely be repurchasing that when I run out (I use it at least one or two days a week) - and I'll probably try some other colors as well. Passport stuff is great! :)
I am a lip balm JUNKIE. That said - this is bar none the best lip balm I have ever used. It is TOTALLY moisturizing, even here in Arizona where my lips are constantly dry! It doesn't have much of a scent - just a very slight medicinal (think carmex) but I love it. I actually came across this by accident at Gump's in SF - didn't have any lip balm and needed some that day, so I bought it (I think it runs about $6 but the 7.5g tub lasts forever!). Great great stuff, I very highly recommend it!!!!
i have this in pink wink and the original colorless - and it is one of my favorite eye products EVER. I don't wear eyeshadow often (usually just this stuff in pink to brighten up my eyes!) but when I do, I have noticed that the original formula helps the shadow stay longer. Great stuff - highly recommend!
i was so disappointed with this. despite using it VERY sparingly, this product made my lashes clump HORRIBLY. I find I get a better result just using a great mascara alone (usually clinque long pretty lashes or maybelline sky high curves). If you're looking for a great mascara base, Estee Lauder's Lash Primer is far better for just a couple bucks more! Would NEVER buy this again - which is sad b/c I'm usually a big Origins fan!
