Polishes -Butter London - Yummy Mummy
rated 2 of 5

You know how they say if you buy one BL, buy Yummy Mummy? That it's universally flattering? Well, I am clearly not universal. On me this doesn't look like the magically interesting taupe yet nude and oh so intriguing color. It just looks like BLAH through and through. (I am cool skinned but have a bit of a tan right now). Application was fine. Packaging is cute but not really practical. I'll give BL another chance with a different color but I was disappointed with YM

Polishes -Nubar - Reclaim

HOLO GRAIL!! This polish is amazing! I am into holos lately. After trying the cult Nfu Oh 61 with the aqua base, I enjoyed the holo but did not like the tricky application and how matte the polish looked in dimmer light. I found the Nubar for really cheap on ebay and thought I'd try it since it had some color to it. I did not expect it to be better than the Nfu Oh but it so is!! I love the color and I can see the holo in almost any light. Application is super easy. With a single coat, the color is bright and the holo is there; 2 coats and we have perfectly even and vivid holo coverage. Reclaim is easily one of my favorites and I will for sure buy it again. Love it!

BB Cream -Skinfood - Mushroom Multi Care BB Cream SPF 20 PA+
rated 4 of 5
alissss 9/7/2011 2:43:00 AM

I bought both the Aloe and the Mushroom skinfoods BB creams ages ago on ebay. I only recently opened the mushroom one since the Aloe one lasted so long. I do not use these in the summer with a tan. I like them a lot. It's just the light coverage I need. Be warned that the light shade is really quite pale - this works great on my skin (NW15). I actually like the smell. Overall, I am very happy to find this product. 4 instead of 5 stars because there aren't too many color choices.

Polishes -Barielle - Decadence
rated 5 of 5
alissss 8/24/2011 7:53:00 PM

A perfect teal! Seriously. Decadence is a medium teal, not too green, not too blue and has some shimmer but is not a foil or frost. It's perfect on the toes and I am keen to try it on my hands too. Formula is great, opaque in 1 coat and perfectly smooth in 2. Barielle has some awesome promos on facebook and shades are always buy one get one 50% off.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
rated 5 of 5
alissss 8/24/2011 7:51:00 PM

I wanted to hate this product since the smell hit me like a punch when I first got it, out of curiosity. I already tried Zoya Armor, Poshe and Sally Hansen top coats and had good results with all. But Seche really is something else. I love that it hardens all the layers of my polish and makes my nails all shiny and jewel-like. I love it and suspect I will remain an addict to this, even though it does have toluene in it.

Polishes -Zoya - Isla

This is exactly the color I like, a dark red that's just a little blackened. It looks to die for in the bottle but somehow that WOW did not translate to my nails. I will give it another try and then swap with someone who may wear her better. Formula was great, as typical for Zoya.

Polishes -OPI - Teenage Dream (Katy Perry)
rated 4 of 5
alissss 8/24/2011 7:36:00 PM

Teenage dream was a really fun, sparkly giltter layering polish. I used it only once and swapped it but I did find the formula to be very good. I have SH Strobe Light (which is not a dupe, but similar) so I did not think I'd need 2 pinky glittery topcoats. This was actually better than the Sally Hansen in being smoother and easier to remove, but you do pay more for it. Overall, if you're looking for a glittery layering polish this is a good one!

Polishes -Zoya - Maya

A pretty pinkish coral with a jelly-ish finish. It was exactly the shade I was hoping for! I wanted to love this so much but it was a little odd in terms of formula. It's kinda sheer, but that's normal for a jelly. Somehow this seems to dry much slower than other polishes such that I am always messing this up. You also have to wait until it dries completely to layer over it (as I tried to do with Rica and ended up with a fail of a drag and mess). The one time I got it on properly, I did love the color and the shine! Overall though I had trouble applying it.

Polishes -Zoya - ivanka
rated 5 of 5
alissss 8/24/2011 7:29:00 PM

Can it really be that I am the first to review the gorgeous Ivanka? I was initially thinking I'd fall in love with Charla from the Sparkle collection but Ivanka won my heart as well. This is an unbelievably shimmery pure green. I think it's can be considered traffic hazard to drive with Ivanka or Charla on your hands as the sparkle is amazing and eye-catching. This is not a polish if you don't want to get attention. Applies like a dream on its own or layered over another polish and lasts really well without chips. 3 coats for full WOW factor. Removal was much better than I expected for such a glittery polish. I dare you to not smile at the sparkles when you wear Ivanka!

OMG!!! The hype is true! Charla is an unbelievably shimmery green-blue. I think it's can be considered traffic hazard to drive with Charla on your hands as the sparkle is amazing and eye-catching. I got the entire Sparkle collection and while they were all quite nice this and Ivanka take the cake in WOW factor. This is not a polish if you don't want to get attention. Applies like a dream on its own or layered over another blue and lasts really well without chips. Removal was much better than I expected for such a glittery polish. Charla is sure to cheer you up!

Polishes -Zoya - Caitlin
rated 5 of 5
alissss 8/24/2011 7:22:00 PM

I received Caitlin in a swap and I am so happy I got her. On me it leans more grey than violet but definitely has a hint of blue. Applied very nicely and evenly in 2 coats and lasted a week wiithout chips (with Zoya Armor). I also really like Zoya Raine over this for a muted lavender/mauve/grey shimmer.

Polishes -Zoya - Kelly
rated 5 of 5
alissss 8/24/2011 7:20:00 PM

For me, Kelly was more than satisfactory. It looks very sophisticated on my cool toned skin. It does not look too black or too blue and also is a great base to layer on. I think Kelly is my go to dark grey for sure. Applied like a dream and lasted well without chips.

Polishes -Zoya - Marina
rated 4 of 5
alissss 8/24/2011 7:18:00 PM

Marina is gorgeous. it was just not my favorite Zoya ever. It is a subdued and sophisticated color and did not work perfectly with my skin. Applied well as most Zoyas do and did not chip. Although the name is quite apt, this color reminds me of a storm. Although I will not repurchase this (and will try to swap), I would recommend it to others who like greys and blues.

Polishes -Zoya - Robyn
rated 4 of 5
alissss 8/24/2011 7:16:00 PM

Robyn is a smurf blue. It's adorable on tips and toes. This is not a polish if you're into subtlety. It's loud but playful. Applied like a dream, opaque in 2 coats and lasted well. One of my favorite blues.

Polishes -OPI - Swimsuit... Nailed it!
rated 4 of 5
alissss 8/24/2011 7:14:00 PM

Wow wow wow. I did not want to get this initally since I have so many blues but at the register I changed my mind and bought it. It's a BRIGHT blue foil and I could not stop staring at my nails when I had it on. Worked great on toes too. Application is smooth, lasts long. Used Seche Vite over it without shrinkage. A lippie off for messy removal and staining even with base coat.
