Blush -Chanel - Reflex

Yet another amazingly beautiful Chanel Blush! I debated buying this blush for a long time..I am pretty pale (Chanel Vitalumiere in Gentle Ivory)so I kept looking at it thinking it would be great with a touch of tan in the summer, but when I found out it was to be discontinued I went ahead and bought it online this winter. I was not disappointed. Even with my pale winter skin this looks fabulous, I just need to use a lighter hand and it imparts the most beautiful golden peach glow. I think this blush would work on a wide range of skintones, you just need to be lighthanded with your application if paler...and if you can no longer find this one a close dup would be Laura Mercier's Orange Blossom powder blush.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Long Wear Cream Eyeshadow in Burnished
rated 5 of 5

Burnished is a beautiful medium-bronze shade of creme eyeshadow with shimmer in a small pot with a screw-on lid. This is a great neutral to wear for a hint of color on your lids with a bit of shimmer. I found this to be very long-wearing with no creasing whatsover. very good product, I think I will be wearing this a lot this summer as the weather gets warmer. I think this would look great with Bellini on the browbone to highlight but it is good just on its own on the lid too.

Moisturizers -Lancome - Aqua Fusion Continous Infusing Moisturizer Lotion SPF 15
rated 5 of 5

This is my daily moisturizer that I put on in the morning before my makeup routine. it has a wonderful, light texture, feels nice and moisturizing (but not greasy) and sinks in immediately. I have no problem with applying makeup afterwards and getting streakiness-this was a problem with their Impactive moisturizer. This also has an in-part Titanium Dioxide sunscreen (1.7%). It's considered for "Normal/Combination" skin so it's not extremely moisturizing and if you are very dry you might want to go for the cream. I have normal skin that tends to break out if I overdo the moisturizer so this is perfect for me. Also I love the scent which is sort of fresh/aquatic.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Irreelle Duo - Brun Express
rated 5 of 5

Been using this one for a couple of years now but haven't reviewed it-it's sort of one of those products that seems like such a no-brainer it doesn't require talking it up at all-it's perfect. A beautiful Ivory with very subtle gold shimmer and Brown with shimmer. it's not over the top shiny, just looks like nice neutral colors that impart a touch of glow. The brown is stunning and wonderful because it is so neutral, not overly reddish/orangey just a nice, neutral medium brown. The only product that comes close to this in my stash is Laura Mercier's duo in Bamboo, another HG neutral eye combo (taupe/bronze).

Skincare - Body -Chanel - Chance Body Moisture
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 1/24/2007 9:35:00 PM

I find the Chanel Bath and Body products are very consistent in quality when compared to their original fragrance-this is no exception. The fragrance is true to the EDT/EDP and is delivered in a very light, moisturizing lotion (more of a body milk, imho) that leaves your skin feeling soft, and of course wonderfully fragranced! If you like Chance, don't hesitate on the lotion version. You could easily wear this alone and get a good impact from the fragrance, or layer it for more strength/lasting power with the EDT. My only gripe is the packaging-while it is beautiful and top matches the stopper on the EDT, I do find myself wishing it had a pump or some other way to decant.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes - Ultra-Light Kirsch
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 1/24/2007 9:29:00 PM

Lately it seems I am on a bit of a JT kick and this is the latest one I have fallen in love with. It might just become my favorite. I am LLL, hazel eyes, dark brown hair, and this is a pretty, wearable blackberry stain on me. Appears deep dark scary plum-burgundy in the tube, but applies a beautiful sheer stain. it's similar to Honey Violet except that HV has some shimmer and applies a bit redder/warmer than Ultra-Light Kirsch does on me. Reminds me of the Clinique Black Honey/LM Black Orchid school of berry color. Gorgeous. I think this is one of those colors that could work on just about anybody, depending on application. love it!

Fragrances -Lancome - Miracle Forever
rated 1 of 5
alexei9 1/21/2007 1:17:00 PM

Smelled this the other day at my local counter-pass. Total bug spray. It smells like a bad knock-off of Thierry Mugler's Angel. None of the qualities of the original Miracle were detectable to me at all. I don't understand why Lancome insists upon trying to reinvent the original when the original was so perfect. I did like the Miracle So Magic! version, which still had a lot of the qualities of the original but in a more green/citrusy/summery blend. With Miracle Forever they are attempting to get on the "Gourmand/Floriental" bus, and are not succeeding. Hypnose was a more successful attempt, so I have no idea why they are trying to recreate that with the Miracle line.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Soft Touch EyeShadow-Lotus
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 1/17/2007 11:23:00 PM

Beautiful, perfect, HG Champagne eyeshadow. This kind of shadow is a staple in my kit, and I have it in various incarnations from many lines...but as usual Chanel is slightly above par. The only shadow I have that compares is the now discontinued Venus Irreelle Ombre, (also by Chanel). The texture in Lotus is much better however, creamy and silky. I wear this either on its own as a wash, or with Safari in the crease for a very neutral eye.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Demure
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 1/17/2007 11:18:00 PM

This is a beautiful neutral quad that has a pale pink shimmer, a pale peach shimmer, a mid-rose shimmer and matte neutral dark brown. The most neutral quadra that Chanel has come out with to date. The colors all work beautifully together to creat a very natural looking eye. You can use the dark brown to accent the crease, or with a damp brush to line the eye (or both, of course). Some people might find this quad boring, but to me there's nothing boring about grabbing a pallette in the morning that is going to be no-fail and look smashing on. This pallette is LE unfortunately, I really wish it weren't because it's such a basic, fail-safe look that should be in their regular quadra line up.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure-Fabulous
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 1/17/2007 10:53:00 PM

I agree with previous reviewers that this lippie is a real chameleon. Sometimes it appears totally bronzey, other times like a warm rosey pink full of gold microshimmer. either way, it's beautiful. It has the usual outstanding, satiny rouge allure texture, and the state of the art packaging that really is the coolest thing in the cosmetics market right now. If you haven't tried a Rouge Allure yet, beware, you might become hooked.

Lipstick -Lancome - Colour Design Vintage Rose
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 1/7/2007 2:52:00 AM

This was one of the first of the new Color Design range of lipsticks that I decided to try when it came out. It's still one of my favorites. Its a mauvey-rose with the faintest, almost imperceptible blue-ish sheen to it. Hence it's designation as a "Sheen" finish as opposed to the other available "Cream, Metallic, and Shimmer" finishes also available in the line. The texture is very creamy and the lasting power of these lipsticks is very good. I think anyone with Neutral to Cool coloring could wear this successfully.

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - StickGloss in Rosewater
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 1/5/2007 10:34:00 PM

This is a bright strawberry pink, very sheer with shimmer. I have begun a new obsession with this line of Stickglosses by Laura Mercier. I now have 4, and enjoy them all (other shades I have are Peony, Baked Earth, and Black Orchid) The texture is just as the name suggests-a cross between a lipstick and a lip gloss. It actually does have lasting power however. I can see this being used quite a bit in the coming spring and summertime for a pop of color on the lips.

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Stickgloss in Brown Sugar
rated 1 of 5
alexei9 12/15/2006 6:38:00 PM

At first I loved this lippie, but unfortunately I realized after a couple of days of use that this wasn't a MLBB lip color for me. too close to my natural (read: blah) lipcolor. not quite corpse lips, but almost. Still has the nice Stickgloss texture, but just not the right color for me. I might give Rosewater a try.

Lipstick -Lancome - Le Rouge Absolu - Rose Crystal
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 12/8/2006 11:05:00 PM

Stunning metallic rosy mauve with plum undertones. I am surprised there are any bad reviews for this lipstick. It is very similar to the texture and color of my Chanel Rouge Allure in Crazed, but it retails for $6 less and I actually got mine as part of a gwp...and to tell the truth it feels a bit more moisturinzing on the lips...I would definately buy again if/when this one runs out. The color is perfect for me...LLL hazel/brown. I don't notice a strong scent as many have talked about.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Glossimer - Sensuelle
rated 5 of 5
alexei9 12/3/2006 10:04:00 PM

This glossimer is simply stunning. A rich, magenta/purple with shimmer. Not for the faint of heart. It is very pigmented (similar to Force, a rich red-plum color) but you can blot it a bit for a more subtle effect...I have LLL complexion hazel/brown. I wasn't sure I wanted this gloss when it first came out a year ago, but this year I am getting into the richer tones for fall/winter and the way deep colors like this really make the fairness of my skin stand out. Sorta that Eva Green in Casino Royale look...(at least that's what I'm hoping!) If I ever ran out of this, (which is unlikely because I have so many glosses) I would buy it again.
