Mascara -Clinique - Naturally Glossy Mascara
rated 5 of 5

Not a huge Clinique fan in general but I LURVE this mascara. I can't use eye make up remover because of extremely sensitive eyes so was looking for a mascara I could wash off with my cleanser & water plus no smudges during the day. Several MUA'ers recommended this to me. Am so glad I went to the Clinique counter and got this - I can wash it off no problem plus no raccoon eyes. Definitely a day time mascara though - for a little more length and drama I would try something else.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser

I kind of get bored with it - don't particularily like the feel of it and the packaging is yukky but it is the only cleanser that seems to help keep my acne prone skin clear and for that I have to give it 5 lippies. Oh and an amazing price too.

Styling Products -Redken - Smooth Down Heat Glide ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Yogagirlie 2/18/2004 2:07:00 PM

Yes it works for me but I found I've had to experiment with it for it to do so. The 1st time I used it I followed the instructions on the bottle. It said to use a couple of drops before blow drying. I found my hair to be extremely greasy afterwards. So I stopped using it before drying but instead when my hair was fully dry put a tiny bit in before using my ceramic iron. When I'm through with the iron if I notice it looks a bit dry I'll rub one more drop between my palms and smooth it over my hair. It works like magic but the key is to use a teeny bit. I got this as part of a Smooth Down sample kit - its a smaller bottle than what is in the shops but I'll probably get months out of it so good value for money!

Treatments -Redken - Smooth Down Butter Treat [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Yogagirlie 2/18/2004 1:59:00 PM

I'm not too sure about the Butter Treat! I do use the shampoo, conditioner and heat glide from the Smooth Down range and find them all to be great products. I'm just not sure what the BT is doing for my hair. In general my hair looks good - shiny and healthy considering the stress I put it through with irons and styling! However after using the BT once a week I don't notice anything spectacular about my hair. Otherwise it smells nice and has a nice consistency! Maybe I need to stop using it for a while and see what happens - the jury is still out until then.

08/12/04 - this has become a real HG for me - I've been using it once a week all summer and it does great things for my dry, over ironed ends.

Shampoo -Redken - Hair Cleansing Cream
rated 5 of 5
Yogagirlie 2/18/2004 1:51:00 PM

I only used this once so far and I found it to do everything it says it will. I use the Redken Smooth Down line which I find wonderful but after a bit it leaves some build up in my hair. Used this and it cleared it all up and left my hair clean and shiny. That was about 2 weeks ago. Slight build-up is appearing again so maybe next week I will use this again. If you are going to use this definitly reserve it for using once a week/month because I think it could leave it very dry. Otherwise it is a great clarifying shampoo that I hope continues to work for me!

Self Tanners -The Body Shop - Self Tanner
rated 5 of 5
Yogagirlie 2/15/2004 1:56:00 PM

I'm not a great fan of the Body Shop and therefore do not buy much(any)stuff from there. So I am not sure what sent me in there when I bought this but I'm so glad I did!!!! This is without a doubt the best self-tan that I have ever used and I consider myself a veteran. Amoungst others, I have tried Neutrogena, Lancome, Vichy, some good, some bad but I think my quest for the HG self tanner is over as this is it!!!! I have the light one as it is winter and I just use it to take the pale look off me (my body that is)! It only occasionally streaks - probably more to do with my application that anything else - has a nice consistancy and smell and it lasts for nearly a full week. Will definitely repurchase and will investigate their darker color and one for face as soon as the warm weather comes!

Eye Shadow -Sonia Kashuk - Enhance Eye Color- Cashmere
rated 4 of 5
Yogagirlie 2/10/2004 2:36:00 PM

I really liked, even loved SK's Cashmere until I discovered MAC's Shroom. I am giving it 5 lippies because it is good quality at an amazing price. I used it for ever! A great cheaper alternative to high-end neutrals!

Eye Shadow -Sonia Kashuk - Enchance Eye Color AUBERGINE
rated 5 of 5
Yogagirlie 2/10/2004 2:31:00 PM

One of my favs from Sonia. You can apply it as sheer or as intense as you like although on my PPP complexion it looks better sheer or in the crease. Very impressed with this color and quality of product.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom

This is a lovely shade on me! Looks very creamy with just enough sheen and not too sparkly. Funnily enough I would never have picked it out in the pot but when I tried it on I was like Whoa!! I love it! Can't wait to experiment and pair it with other colors!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Brule
rated 5 of 5
Yogagirlie 1/29/2004 12:08:00 PM

OMG It's the best. I've been looking for a perfect daytime shadow for ages. I had this idea in my mind of a clean, polished, 'my lids but better' look - I bought lots of drugstore brand e/s in the past couple of months - some of them lovely but not quite what I was looking for. So I decided to splash out and went to my nearest MAC counter and there Brule E/S is IT! Basically it looks like I have no e/s on so extremely natural looking but cleans up my whole lid, it blends beautifully, opens my eyes up and looks amazing with my mascara. Is wonderful by itself but would also make a great base and I'm sure I can pair it with deeper browns when I experiement with it!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dandelion
rated 4 of 5
Yogagirlie 1/23/2004 2:19:00 PM

I like Dandelion, it's a nice pink that brightens up my face. I'm not sure I love it though, just because it is so pricey and comes with a hype that I'm not quite sure it lives up to. I do love the cutsey packaging even if it is a bit bulky in my make-up bag and I it's a long-lasting product - I've been using it since August and I've barely made a dent in it. However I hate the brush that comes with it instead I use my own blusher brush.

Concealers -Lancome - Photogenic Skin-Illuminating Concealer
rated 5 of 5
Yogagirlie 1/23/2004 2:03:00 PM

This is without a doubt the best concealor that I have ever used and I have used a lot due to my acne-prone skin. I love the consistency and the color - it just melts into my skin and stays all day. I apply it with a little bush and then touch it up with a little powder during the day/evening and I'm good to go! It is expensive - around $22 for a pot of it - but considering I have spend $3, $4 and $5 on other concealors and then used them only once - I think this one will pay its way!

Liquid -Lancome - Photogenic [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Yogagirlie 1/23/2004 1:57:00 PM

This is a good foundation but that's about it. I'm really not sure if it lives up to all the hype. It does feel comfortable on, looks good esp. when freshly applied. However I am only giving it 3 lipsticks because I feel that if I looked hard enough I could find a much cheaper alternative with the same results. Changed my mind here - this has definitely grown on me and I love it now!!!!

Conditioner -Redken - Smooth Down
rated 5 of 5
Yogagirlie 1/23/2004 1:50:00 PM

OMG this is definitely my HG haircare line. I used the conditioner, along with the shampoo & heat glide oil before blow-drying and flat ironing my hair. Even though my wavy, coarse hair is slightly over processed from constant styling and ironing I suffer from very oily roots (even after just washing) This was my one concern before I used Smoothdown. However this didn't happen (phew) - my hair is straight, shiny, soft and healthy looking and feels amazing today. No fly-aways, frizzies and not a bit greasy ! I just hope it continues to work for me! If so well worth the money!
