Blush -Physicians Formula - Happy Booster™ Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Natural
rated 5 of 5
Xexuxa 1/13/2012 10:29:00 PM

This is my most used blush! I really like the formula of this product. The blush is the only one I've tried so far that lasts all day, and I have tried MAC, Nars, and Tarte but this outlasts all those brands! I highly recommend this product. However, don't count on the brush being too great, I would recommend another blush brush.

Treatments -Stridex - Naturally Clear Acne Medication Pads
rated 2 of 5
Xexuxa 9/18/2010 11:09:00 PM

I have been using the maximum strength stridex pads for years and was excited to try this product when I saw it in stores. Unfortunately it turned my face bright red and made it itch and tingle. I have never had this problem with other stridex products but this one I had to stop using.

Foundations -Urban Decay - Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup
rated 4 of 5
Xexuxa 3/31/2010 7:16:00 PM

I purchased this a while back at an Urban Decay counter in Macys. I was given the lightest shade in Illusion. Its a bit dark, and I'm a MAC NC20-25, but its the lightest shade they had. I tried other mineral foundations and this one performs just as well, but I find that it has a slightly more matte finish than others I've tried. Its long lasting and doesn't streak. It also holds up well when I sweat. I will be using this for the rest of the summer. The only thing I really don't like is the packaging. You're supposed to pat yourself on the face with it over and over again and blend it with the sponge on the tip but I just don't like using it that way. I have to unscrew it, pour a small amount into the lid and apply with the brush from there. I think its kind of a pain and would rather have it in a sifter jar.

Eye Shadow -Make Up For Ever - Eye shadows
rated 4 of 5
Xexuxa 4/27/2009 7:32:00 PM

I recently ordered #76 (beige) #3 (Eggshell) and #161 (cinnamon). They are all matte finish and are definitely not like any matte eyeshadows I've ever tried. #3 is great highlight and blending color. #76 is the all-purpose beige color and #161 is actually a blush not a shadow. They are very silky and pigmented. They have nylon in them which would explain why they go on so creamy. They are very pigmented, and have a different finish than Mac matte or Urban Decay matte shadows. They are a bit pricey, their shadows are a lot larger than MAC or Urban Decay. I recommend giving them a try!

Primer/ Corrector -Givenchy - Mister Mat
rated 5 of 5
Xexuxa 2/22/2009 12:09:00 AM

This primer is the best oil absorbing product that I have found that still looks good with foundation. I'm glad I got it as a sample to try out as most primers don't control oil very well and oil control gels tend to make foundation look streaky and uneven. With this product I get the best of both. Liquid and powder foundation look great on top of it as well as just plain loose powder. It has a very nice texture straight out of the tube. It feels like velvet cream and instantly mattes the skin when you apply it. I got this at Sephora for $30 for a .8 oz tube. My only complaint is that I wish I got more for the money. My MUFE primer is really nice as well but I think this will be my main primer from now on.

Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - HD Microperfecting Primer in 0 Neutral
rated 3 of 5
Xexuxa 1/1/2009 5:29:00 PM

This is actually a very good primer for foundation, powder or any other face make-up. It mattes the skin slightly and doesn't do too much for oil control. But it really does make foundation go on smoothly. I apply my foundation with a brush and when I us this primer I don't see any brush strokes or streaks of foundation as I smooth it out. It grabs powder very well, so anything you put on top like blush or bronzer will go on smoothly and won't get blotchy. I really wish this did more for oil control but I will continue to buy this because it makes face makeup look really nice.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
rated 4 of 5
Xexuxa 11/14/2008 3:05:00 AM

I got this pencil as a deluxe sample from Sephora and I'm very impressed with it. This is one of the best eye liner pencils I have used! It really does stay in place for me. It doesn't smudge and it doesn't crease onto my lids like the other pencils have. I had been using the MAC technakohl liner in graphblack, but I much prefer this pencil. It goes on a lot smoother and doesn't tug at my skin. I was having a bit of an issue with it on my waterline the first time I tried it, but the second time around I made sure to apply a bit extra there and it has worked very well so far. I think this one will be hard to beat for me.

Shampoo -Oscar Blandi - Pronto Dry Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
Xexuxa 8/29/2008 2:23:00 AM

I tried Ojon Dry Shampoo, and I had to return it because the nozzle would keep getting clogged. I decided to try The Oscar Blandi Dry shampoo in a bottle instead of the spray. At first I thought it would be hard to apply, but i got the hang of it really quickly. A lot of people have been complaining about the white residue that it leaves, but I find that if I brush my hair thoroughly that it goes away. What I also like about this product is that a little bit goes a long way. I put a few sprinkles in different sections of my hair and brushed it out and I was good to go. I'm not too hot on the lemon scent, but luckily it isn't that strong. I definitely plan on using this in the future and I even want to get the small bottle to keep in my purse.

Powder -Make Up For Ever - Duo Mat Powder foundation
rated 4 of 5
Xexuxa 7/27/2008 9:24:00 PM

I was using MAC Studio Fix as a powder foundation, but it had no staying power and streaked and creased all over my face. I have very oily skin, so I decided to try Duo Mat. I am shade #201, and about NC20 in MAC colors. I find that Makeup Forevers foundation is a much better color match for me than Studio Fix. It doesn't streak and crease on my face and has stronger staying power. Some reviewers say that this product gets darker throughout the day but I have not had that problem. I recommend this to anyone with seriously oily skin.

Shampoo -Ojon - Rub-Out
rated 3 of 5
Xexuxa 7/27/2008 2:54:00 AM

This is the first dry shampoo I have ever used, and I have mixed feelings about it. I have a very oily scalp, and this definitely gets rid of that problem. However I notice that it takes away shine from my hair because its so powdery. I may be using too much though. In the long run, I can always add shine spray, and I would much rather have hair thats a bit powdery than flat and oily. Another gripe I have with this product is the packaging. I had just bought the bottle and stuck it in my hair drawer, and when I reached for it later that day, the bottle was leaking. That sucked but other than that, it does the job and has a nice smell. I would buy it again. EDIT: As much I love this product, the nozzle keeps getting clogged and I had to return it. Its such a shame, as soon as they fix that problem I will buy it again.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
Xexuxa 7/15/2008 12:02:00 AM

I really wish I had gotten into these sooner. I recently had to throw out a bunch of eye shadow because it was too old or didn't hold up to my standards in terms of pigmentation and blending ability. Urban Decay doesn't have the shade range of MAC, but honestly I have had better luck in terms of quality. The colors are always very rich and they just smooth out so well onto my skin. I plan to replace a lot of colors with Urban Decays eye shadow. The chunks of glitter in some of the shades can be a nuisance, but it doesn't affect how pigmented they are or how well the blend. Still, I prefer not to get those shades because the glitter fall out is intense. I recommend trying one and seeing how it works out.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Anti - Shine (tube)
rated 4 of 5
Xexuxa 6/13/2008 9:33:00 PM

I've tried a lot of oil control gels. I've tried MAC, Clinique, Makeup forever, and a few other brands but out of them all I like this one the most. I can't give it a perfect rating because the oil on my skin still shows through eventually, but it keeps it matte longer than the others I've tried. This anti-shine gel comes in a decent sized tube, and the consistency is very thick. Its starts to get sticky as it dries and then it becomes soft and powdery. One of my favorite things about this product is that make-up applies beautifully over it. Some primer products make foundation go on unevenly but this enhances the look of my powder and liquid foundation. I will purchase this again.

Concealers -Tarte - The Eraser
rated 2 of 5
Xexuxa 5/28/2008 11:38:00 PM

The SA at Sephora told me to try this when I walked in asking for a concealer (even though I told her I like to use Makeup Forever. Why won't SA ever listen to their customers???) It looked fine at the store, but the next morning when I tried it on, I couldn't get it to look right. At first I thought I applied too much, so I started over. Then I tried putting on a tiny bit and it still looked bad. I looked even more tired, and the color was orangey. The formula itself is hard to blend too. I'm going to exchange this for something else.

Makeup Brushes -Too Faced - Retractable Kabuki Brush
rated 5 of 5
Xexuxa 5/18/2008 9:03:00 PM

THis is such a cute little brush! I bought it because I wanted a brush to put in my purse when I apply powder because I heard it was more hygienic. This was purchased at Ulta for 28.50, and I think it was worth the price. The bristles are very dense, and it applies powder very well. This is also a great purse brush because it comes in a nice metal case. I don't think I'll apply powder with a puff ever again thanks to this brush

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection
rated 5 of 5
Xexuxa 5/17/2008 11:07:00 PM

I recently purchased this product at Ulta for 19.50. I bought the black one, but it also comes in brown and blue. So far, I think its a great mascara. It makes my lashes look very full and very black. Its pretty smudge-proof which is great, but we will see if this flakes up with wear. The tube is large, probably about as big as Diorshow and BadGal Lash, which are all in the same price range. The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that it doesn't hold the curl of my lashes. However I have yet to find a mascara that does. I think this mascara is worth an honest try. You can always return it if it doesn't work out. UPDATE: This is one of those mascaras that will look better if you wipe down the wand after taking it out of the tube. Otherwise you will get too much product on the wand and it will go on clumpy.
