Foundations -Revlon - Nearly Naked Foundation
rated 4 of 5

I normally wear powder foundations on my face for the most part. But, every now and then when a new liquid foundation hits the market that starts getting a lot of buzz about it, I will try it out just to see how it works. This foundation has a lightweight texture to it. It has a slight sunscreen smell (that's not as bad as the Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation one), it provides a natural, semi-matte finish to one's face, and I have found that it doesn't turn orangey on my face as the day wears on either. It provides buildable, sheer-to-light/medium coverage at best. If you have fairly good skin, you probably won't need to pair this up with concealer. However, if you do have blemishes or hyperpigmentation on your face, a concealer is needed to provide extra coverage of such. Also, I do not use the corresponding powder that's supposed to be used with this foundation. I use a talc-free powder of my own that works just fine. I do have sensitive, combination-to-oily, acne-prone skin. I have not experienced any added breakouts from using this foundation on my face. I have used this foundation both by itself (w/o powder over it) and with finishing powder over top as well. Without finishing powder, the foundation stays fresh looking (just-applied) on my face for about 4-1/2-5 hours. After 5 hours (w/o powder over top), a definite re-touching of foundation is needed. With finishing powder over top, I can go about 6-7 hours without having to re-touch my face with powder at all. mBeyond 7-8 hours, I do have to do a re-touching of powder (if I do plan on going out for the evening). The problem that I can see some people having is with getting a correct shade match. Unfortunately, there are no testers available for this foundation. Which is why, I would totally recommend checking out videos on YT of people that have a skintone that is closest to yours first. If that doesn't work for you, Revlon's website does provide help with your finding a shade match on their website. Also, there's a booklet available on the foundation display that offers shade matching help as well. Revlon's Nearly Naked Foundation shade range does run warmer than the same exact shade names in their Colorstay foundation range. Also, the corresponding pressed powders sold to go aong with the shades of Nearly Naked Foundation run on the warm side as well. These are things to all keep in mind when it comes to purchasing the Nearly Naked Foundation and/or powder. And, most importantly, this foundation does not come in a pump bottle. To apply it, you simply pour out the foundation into either your hands, onto a foundation brush, or onto a beauty blender (or any other type cosmetic sponge) instead. Overall, there really isn't anything very terrible that I could say about this foundation. Which is why, I would buy it again.

Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #2
rated 4 of 5
Reservechic 12/1/2012 2:51:00 PM

I have combination-to-oily, acne-prone skin. I have tried every clarifying lotion that Clinique makes except for the No. 1 version. The only two that I plan to stick with are the Mild Clarifying Lotion and this version. I switch back and forth between using them and this is what I have found to work best for me. After application, the clarifying lotion does sting my skin somewhat. I attribute such to the level of alcohol added within it. Now, the alcohol smell that it has in it is definitely not as strong as the No. 3 and 4 Clarifying Lotions that Clinique sells. And, the stinging sensation that I get with the No. 2 version is surely less than what I've gotten when I've used the higher numbered clarifying lotions(3 and 4) instead. If you are someone who has combination, oily, and/or acne-prone skin and the No. 3 and 4 Clarifying Lotions are too much for your skin too handle, I highly recommend trying Clarifying Lotion #2 or possibly the Mild Clarifying Lotion (which is 100% alcohol free) instead. It really helps to increase cell turnover (which boosts skin's clarity) and greatly clear out deeply embedded dirt, grime, and bacteria from inside one's pores. And, in turn, this helps with the alleviating of acne on one's face.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - Repairwear- Intensive Eye Cream
rated 2 of 5
Reservechic 12/1/2012 2:36:00 PM

It is very moisturizing to the eye area. It helps to make the eye area look a bit smoother overall as well.I do not recommend applying this product underneath eyeshadow. It only ended up making my eyeshadows crease quicker than without. Overall, I think its a pretty decent eye cream. Is it a must-have? No, not in my opinion. In fact, none of the eye creams that I've used from Clinique are what I would consider to "spectacular" at all.

Cleansers -Clinique - Comforting Cream Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
Reservechic 12/1/2012 1:56:00 PM

This product does work pretty okay for a makeup remover. My ony gripe is that I wish that it came in a bigger size is all. To use it to remove makeup, I find that I have to use lot of it actually. And, after I've completely aplied it all over my face, I then take a warm washcloth to thoroughly remove all makeup from off my face that way. The best product that Clinique makes for removing makeup is their Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm.

Treatments -Clinique - Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle and UV Damage Corrector
rated 2 of 5
Reservechic 12/1/2012 1:33:00 PM

The biggest "pro" about this product is that it has a very light and silky texture to it that allows for it to be absorbed perfectly into the skin. It is able to lightly hydrate and mildy exfoliate my skin. However, I do not not consider this to be an effective product in helping to reverse any type of sun damage or possible wrinkling to the skin. The only true products that can do that are prescription products. Overall, I think that this product is both way over-priced and over-hyped by Clinique. I actually purchased a full-sized bottle of this stuff after it first came out. The product's biggest claim is that it can provide results close to a dermatological laser procedure. This is why, I rushed out to go and buy it in the first place. And, now I realize that I should have waited to read the reviews on this product first.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Dabur Amla Oil
rated 5 of 5
Reservechic 10/29/2012 12:04:00 PM

I use Dabur Amla Gold. It contains the following ingredients in it: Paraffinum Liquidum, Canola Oil, Palm Glycerides, Emblica Officinals (Amla) Extract in Canola Oil, Fragrance, t-Butyl Hydroquinone (Anti oxidant), Colors: D&C: Yellow No. 10, Green No. 6, Red No. 17 I find this product to be very moisturizing to my hair. It also leaves my hair nice and shiny looking. And, it also aids in keeping my hair healthy and strong as well. I find the smell of the oil to be okay. It's certainly not the best or the worst that I would say. For me, it is completely tolerable. Also, the price for this oil is quite cheap. I was able to purchase a 10.14 oz. bottle of this stuff online for 4.99 (w/o s& h costs included). And, even though it does have mineral oil listed as its first ingredient, it doesn't cause any problems for my hair at all. I use this oil as a pre-poo treatment for my hair. After about 1-2 hours or so, I cleanse my hair to remove the oil from my hair. Therefore, the oil is not be left in my hair in large amounts, which would cause buildup issues in such a case. Overall, I highly recommend this product as well as the Dabur Vatika Oil as well. They are absolutely terrific for gaining the most shiniest, healthiest, and longest hair possible!

Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - Lucy Minerals - Ambrosia Lip Balm
rated 3 of 5
Reservechic 9/14/2012 2:38:00 PM

I own this in the Baby Pink shade. The color of it is very light. It's one of those "my lips but better" shades. I really do like how soft this lip balm makes my lips feel! What I don't like so much is the strong coffee scent that it has. Which is why, I don't find myself reaching for it as much as I would like to.

Foundations -Unlisted Brand - Lucy Minerals Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Reservechic 9/14/2012 2:35:00 PM

I have sensitive, combination-to-oily skin. I am always very cautious about buying new makeup. However, I decided to buy from Lucy Minerals based on the wonderful reviews that it has here. And, I am so glad that I did, I really do like this line a whole lot!!! I have a true medium skintone, with pinky-to-sometimes peachy undertones. My foundation shade in Lucy Minerals was custom blended for me. I received a 50/50 blend of Golden Medium and Soft Beige (in the OCS formulas). And, it does provide me with a near perfect match for my skintone (not 100% though). The coverage that this foundation provides on its own is what I would consider to be light-to-medium buildable coverage. For anyone that needs fuller coverage, the use of a concealer underneath would probably be necessary. However, I am totally fine with the coverage that this foundation does provide my face with all on its own. When it comes to oil control, this foundation plus their OCS Finishing Powder works wonders at keeping my face from getting shiny throughout the day! And, that to me is a huge plus! This foundation has not caused me to breakout. Also, it has not irritated my skin in any way either. It's made up of lots of great ingredients in it that are helping my face to look it's best everytime I wear it. And, because of that, I simply can't help but praise Lucy Minerals more and more!!!

Foundations -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals Ready Foundation
rated 3 of 5
Reservechic 9/14/2012 12:19:00 PM

My normal shade in the Original foundation is Medium Beige. However, I do sometimes use Golden Medium too. In the Matte foundation, I strictly wear Medium Beige. So, when I saw this being offered on QVC for pre-order, I happily ordered the Ready Foundation in Medium Beige. After getting it home, here's what I have to say about this foundation: 1. The Ready foundation in the limited edition silver compact that I purchased from QVC does have a smell to it. I am not sure if this smell is relative to the combination of natural ingredients that's in the foundation or if it is only limited to the limited edition silver compacts and not to the regular black compacts (that are sold elsewhere). The smell is sort of a waxy, crayonish smell. I am able to tolerate it. However, I can certainly see how some people may find this to be offputting to them. 2. The Precision Face Brush that came with the limited edition compact is (in my opinion) the best brush that bareMinerals has ever created. It is very soft, yet dense and it gives pretty good coverage with just one swipe. 3. The coverage that the foundation provides is medium at best. This is totally fine with me. However, someone who has lots of blemishes or dark or pitted scars on their face will certainly need to apply concealer first and then the foundation over that for full coverage. 4. The Medium Beige shade in the Ready Compact actually does appear darker in the pan than it goes onto your face. Also, the color that it goes onto the face does appear to be 1 to 2 shades lighter than the Original and Matte foundation shades in Medium Beige that I currently own. To help correct the way it looks on my face, I do have to apply a bit of the It Cosmetics Matte Bronzer over it. And, then after doing that, I am totally good to go! Update- 4/27/2013: Through trial and error, I have found out that my correct shade is Medium Tan. 5. The Ready foundation lasts approximately 4-5 hours on my face, before I notice any oil breakthru. So, its lasting power on my face is pretty standard. 6. Less is more when it comes to any bareMinerals foundation. This one surely is no different! 7. I did not find this foundation to be overly hydrating to my skin. I do have combination-to-oily skin. So, my skin already has alot of natural hydration to it already. 8. This foundation is totally non-messy and it can easily be used to travel with as well. Overall, I do plan to keep using this foundation, even though it didn't live up to all of my initial expectations. Unlike most other foundations on the market today, this foundation is made out of natural ingredients that are better for my skin than using something that's filled with lots of chemicals in it instead!

Cleansers -Clinique - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
rated 5 of 5
Reservechic 7/22/2012 8:52:00 PM

When wearing makeup, I normally remove as much as I can with either a makeup remover wipe or a warm face towel. And, then I would follow this up with my normal cleanser. Normally, I don't wear waterproof makeup. However, I have started using products from the It Cosmetics line (such as their Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer and Matte Bronzer) that are actually waterproof. So, this is why, I decided to actually give this product a try. This product is AMAZING! It quickly dissolves both waterproof and non-waterproof makeup off of the face. It rinses easily away. It is completely fragrance free. And, it doesn't clog my pores at all. To remove my makeup, this has become my go to product. It truly is one of the best products that Clinique makes!

Powder -It Cosmetics - Bye Bye Pores Poreless Finish HD Micro-Powder
rated 5 of 5
Reservechic 7/19/2012 1:37:00 PM

Unlike most hd powders on the market, this one actually has an ivory-yellow tint to it. However, it does go on translucent onto one's face. And, even with a light dusting of such, it really does aid in giving a porcelain finish to the skin. It Cosmetics' Heavenly Luxe Powder Brush is the only brush that I use to apply this powder with. It allows for me to get an absolutely airbrushed finished to my makeup (which I love!)!
