Concealers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Concealer

Overall, this is a great thing. I remember using this, and only this, when I was in high school to cover up breakouts. Now after about six years I've rediscovered it and I am now using it under my eyes. It's so much easier to use than the liquid concealers (like Almay skin smoothing). Very minimal blending is needed so you don't have to tug on your eye as much. It's super quick to apply too which will save me time in the morning when I can't spare the minutes needed to make sure the color is blended well. I use the fair and even with my fake tan it doesn't look too light on me, espcially as an undereye circle concealer. I am glad that I have found this little nugget of joy again!

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - EyeSlicks Gel Eye Color [DISCONTINUED]

Midnight rose is that color I tried and at first I thought I liked it, but it's really not all that wonderful. Pros; It's pretty and stays right where you put it for several hours and it's easy to control the application. Cons; It actually made my eyelid feel itchy, and when I was putting it on it would cake up if I applied too much in one area and it was almost impossible to fix at that point. I still wear it however, but I am sure there has to better products that give the same look and convenience...I hope!

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - Retro Glow Cameo Eyeshadow

I really, really like this. I have it in timeless taupe, a purplish/brownish/silvery color. I can use a light layer for just subtle color or I can lay it on thick for a more dramatic look. It's easy to blend and works well with other colors. It's pretty, looks natural, and has a nice silky finish to it.

Blush -L'Oreal - Blush Delice

I don't usually wear blush because I have naturally pink-reddish skin tone. I decided to try this in ginger snap, an apricot-ish color, and it's sheer enough that it adds a nice glow. I sweep a little on and go. I've noticed that most places have it on clearance now, but I paid $9 for it!

I actually tried Long and Strong and I was hoping for something that would put an end to the breakage I've been having lately. What this stuff DID do however was leave my hair looking oily and unnaturally shiney...kinda gross really. I was so disspointed.

Liquid -Cover Girl - TruBlend
rated 4 of 5

My roommate recommended this when I made notice of her pretty complexion. I tried hers first and then bought my own in ivory, which is what she uses as well. It seems to match my ultra pale face well and The liquid-powdery consistency overs blemishes and uneven color/texture on my face well and does not aggravate my very dry face. I have not broken out yet and I've been using it for almost two weeks. My roommate has had no problem either. I love, love, love the bottle since it has a pump and only gives you as much as you need without the mess. I am sure it is much more sanitary than most as well. My only complaint is that does not contain sunscreen which I feel has become a vital part of anything we wear on out face. If we are going through all the trouble of layering goop on it, shouldn't that goop be protecting us and keeping out skin younger longer too? It makes sense. I will use this until I find something that lasts longer on my skin. This stuff does seem to wear off after a few hours...but then again I only put a light layering on certain areas.

Treatments -Clarins - Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate

Spending sixty bucks on a bottle of goop that is not much bigger than white-out is usually not my style, but I was getting desperate. My face has always been red toned and trying to treat my acne made it worse plus dried it. Then it started getting irritated and sore to the point where I either would have to stop using anything or find something to soothe and correct the problem. I finally took the plunge into the world of expensive dept. store skin care and I am very happy with the results. For the past two weeks without fail, I've been putting this stuff on each night before bed after I cleanse and every morning, my face looks clearer, brighter, and much much healthier. It's working beautifully and my skin no longer feels sore or broken out. If I wear makeup, it smooths on very easily, but the best part is...my skin is looking so nice that I don't feel like even need makeup now. No more glowing red spots and it's always soft. I am so thankful for this product. If anything changes however, I will update.UPDATE: After about three months of using this product, it is still working wonderfully. I have stopped using it every night and instead only once or twice a week. It was a wise investment.

Treatments -Neutrogena - On the Spot Acne Treatment Vanishing Formula

This is my only solution for my breakouts that I get on each side of my mouth on my chin. I found out about it after visiting a website that recommended it along with a specific regimin to follow. At first use, it rocked! Now...about a year down the road, either this stuff isn't working quite as well or my zits have mutated into a smarter more tolerable breed. In either case, it is worth trying. I have recommended it to all of my friends who have complained of blemishes and the ones who try it always have reported that it worked like a charm for them.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Visibly Firm Night Cream with Copper
rated 2 of 5
Realityreject 1/12/2005 1:26:00 AM

Nope. I don't like it. I tried using it three or four different times, and each time I breakout in the very same area. I have dry skin and it's very fickle. I was hoping to even it out a bit and get it looking nicer. Oh well. Also, I didn't like dunking my fingers into it each time. I would prefer something with a pump just to ensure I'm not spreading last night's bacteria onto my poor sensitive face.

Hair Styling Tools -Conair - 1875 Ion Shine Hairdryer
rated 5 of 5
Realityreject 1/12/2005 1:16:00 AM

I've used quite a few hairdryers in my time, and this one is by far the best! I won't say it's because of the ion technology, but I won't say it isn't either. All I know is that my hair feels so soft and lays about as good as it gets when I'm all done. My flyaways even lay down more. Even after my first use, my boyfriend unknowingly said, "Your hair looks really good tonight, very shiney and pretty." WooHOO! And for those who are in question about the "ions"...I actually did read in a magazine that there is some kind of evidence that says these new ion contraptions are healthier for your hair than other deep friers. That's why I decided to try it. COOL. ~~UPDATE~~ I don't like this as much as I did when I first began using it a year ago. I would like to find a hairdryer that is kinder and gentler yet. This one does seem to flatten my hair in the wrong places.

Eyes -Revlon - Lash Curler
rated 4 of 5
Realityreject 1/12/2005 1:01:00 AM

This little device is the first of it's kind I had tried so I wasn't sure if I was even using it correctly. After a few tries, I got the hang of it and not only does it curl it really helps my mascara go on smoother (I seem to have troubles in that department). I got a little curious one day though and picked up a different brand of curler on sale at CVS and it makes my lashes stick straight up. Very Strange. I am at college right now and the Revlon one is at home. It's a big help and I can't wait to get my hands on it again. EDIT: This thing pulls out lashes once in a while and that hurts!!! Might want to take the money and order a nicer one from someone else. This does work however if you don't mind the occasional hangup.

Liquid -Neutrogena - Visibly Even natural look makeup [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Realityreject 10/20/2004 5:05:00 PM

I have drier skin that tends to appear kind of blotchy due to past break-outs. I also have a lot of red in my skin tone that I wanted to subdue. This foundation truly makes my skin look clear and more even. I beleive after a weeks worth of use, my skin has taken on a clearer look even when I am not wearing the foundation and for me that is something I've always hoped for... Clear skin without foundation. I think this product does improve skin clarity just like it says. I picked copper sands to try. I am a strawberry-blonde, so it is a bit darker and not as rosy as my natural color, but I like how it looks. One complaint is the smell. Ew. But it goes away after a few minutes and I can tolerate it considering the good it seems to be doing me.

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Multi-Colored Corrector- GREEN
rated 4 of 5
Realityreject 9/20/2004 1:42:00 AM

I agree with the other reviews. This purchase was my attepmt at avoiding buying a foundation for the purpose of covering my redness. The best part about this powder is that it only take a few swipes over any redness to dull it. The only bad part I can see is that if you use a lot over extreme red areas, it can look dry and matted. I think it would be best to use this powder over a light moisturizer to prevent any drying. All in all, it's something nice to have when you are in a hurry or don't care for the feeling of foundation and all you want is more even looking skin color.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
rated 4 of 5
Realityreject 9/20/2004 12:28:00 AM

I've tried several "drug store" brand mascaras as well as Magnascopic from Estee Lauder and so far the Full and Soft has been the best. What sets it apart for me is that it rarely clumps when I apply it so long as I am careful and take my time. I get a more feathery look with this stuff also, which I like.
