Lipstick -MAC - Front Lit
rated 3 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/21/2009 10:20:00 PM

Front Lit is a pale frosty champagne color lipstick. Since I'm a huge fan of the nude mouth look I was very excited to see a new tanarama-like shade. I snapped it up immediately, went home, promptly applied and examined. I can only describe it as a mix between Tanarama and Pretty Please. Front Lit has the Tanarama color but is more sheer like Pretty Please. It has irridescent shimmer or micro glitter. If you look closely in the sunlight you can see the tiny flecks of violet, green, pink and gold on your lips. Now what I don't like about this lipstick... is the slight gritty feeling caused by the micro glitter. I would have preferred this lipstick be made in a smooth frost formula without the micro glitter. Also exfoliating your lips before applying this lipstick is a Must. Overall, I will not be purchasing a backup for this lipstick. I love the idea of a new tanarama-like color but this particular formula isn't perfect. Would I recommend this lipstick? Well...If you can handle a bit of grit, give it a go! Extra Tip: If you want this color without the micro grit, Apply Pretty Please and then Tanarama on top. You get the same color but it's silky smooth on your lips!

Blush -MAC - sunbasque
rated 5 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/18/2009 11:30:00 PM

Now I understand why this blush has earned so many great reviews. Ahh, Sunbasque my new HG! How did I ever live without this blush! It's true that in the pan it looks scary, sort of a terracotta color. I'm paranoid of looking orange. Whether it's my hair, my tan or my face. I steer clear of anything with oranginess. So I would have never picked this up if I hadn't read all the positive reviews. After applying it on my cheeks I found that it was not orangey at all but instead it was the most gorgeous Pink-Bronze Blush I've ever seen. It's a Sheertone Shimmer Blush so the color payoff starts light but is buildable, which makes it easy to control and customize the perfect shade for your skintone. For reference, I'm a NC35. I use about 2-3 swipes with my MAC 129 brush. The shimmer looks sparkly in the pan but on the face it's a beautiful glowing sheen. What really makes this blush special is that it's both a blush and bronzer. The combination is pure genius. It's looks so natural and I just love the flawless sunkissed glow it gives me. I will be repurchasing this blush for as long as they make it!

Lips -MAC - Lustre in Lovelorn
rated 3 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/17/2009 10:29:00 PM

Lovelorn is a highly pigmented bright Fuchsia Pink. It looks so pretty in the tube but beware...it goes on strong and bright. It's not a very wearable color. My NC35 skintone is definitely not a good match for this color of lipstick. I will not repurchase. However, on the right person and skintone this would be lovely. Since I already have this lipstick...I will make the best of it. That's where MAC Myth comes in, Myth is my secret weapon when it comes to fixing problem lipsticks. With Lovelorn, I apply Myth as my base coat and then lightly dab on Lovelorn only a few times (a little goes a long way) Rub your lips together and the result is a soft wearable pink. This is the only way I can wear this lipstick.

Lipstick -MAC - Ahoy, There! - Naughty Nauticals (LE Summer 2008)
rated 2 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/17/2009 7:54:00 PM

This lipstick is sheer with a tint of pink and subtle micro glitter. This was my first MAC glaze lipstick and probably my last. The color payoff is barely there. The micro glitter makes the lipstick feel grainy. I won't ever purchase this again. But since I have it...I will make the best of it, which means applying MAC Myth as a base coat and then apply Ahoy There! over the top. Myth is the fix-all base coat for my problem lipsticks. The combination of Myth and Ahoy There! creates a pretty Nude-Pink color. However, I'm still not interested in repurchasing.

Lipstick -MAC - Gel - Frost
rated 5 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/17/2009 7:05:00 PM

This was the first MAC lipstick I ever purchased and today Gel is still one of my top 3 favorites! It's a heavenly shimmering champagne with gold frost. If I was giving an award for the best Frost lipstick... Gel would definitely be the winner. It makes me look more tan, my teeth look whiter, my lips look fuller...not to mention everytime I wear it I receive a ton of compliments. This is a Man-Magnet Lipstick. It's a nude shade but won't make you look washed out, it's very wearable. I also love that it's an effortless lipstick...meaning I don't need to apply a base of any kind and I don't need a lip gloss over top of it. Gel by itself it pure perfection! If you like Frosty Champagne Lipsticks, this is a must-have!

Lipstick -MAC - Frost - Angel
rated 5 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/17/2009 6:14:00 PM

Gorgeous! MAC Angel is a pretty soft pink with cool undertones. I'm surprised that it's labeled as a frost because it doesn't look frosty at all...it's actually more similar to a Cremesheen. If you like a pink pout you should definitely have this in your collection. It's a very wearable shade of true pure pink, a perfectly toned down version of the popular Bubblegum-Barbie Pinks.

Hair -Moroccanoil - Moroccan Oil
rated 5 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/13/2009 9:25:00 PM

UPDATE: I finished my first bottle recently and knew that I would be repurchasing a 2nd. However, I thought between bottles it would be smart to use up some of my other highend hair serums and flat iron spray. Uhg! The products I thought worked so well before do not come close to my beloved Moroccanoil. With my other products I could immediately see that my hair was not nearly as soft, they didn't soak in, they just sat on the surface of my hair with an oil-slick sort of false shine. The Moroccanoil actually soaks in and quenches my dry thirsty hair making it silky soft. It gives a healthy natural shine! Moroccan Oil or Argan Oil can't be beat! I use it as my leave-in conditioner and heat protectant. I purchased my 2nd bottle of Moroccanoil in the largest size yesterday. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been using this Moroccanoil Oil Treament everyday for just over a month now. I'm half way through the bottle. I purchased the small size (1.7fl.oz) It cost $25 at my local beauty supply store. This stuff is expensive but it's well worth the price. I have dry, thirsty, brittle, highlighted blonde hair. I also heat style my hair on a daily basis. I use the moroccanoil as a heat protectant. I apply a small amount before I blow dry and before I use my flat iron. A little goes a long way. I've tried many flat iron sprays and heat defense serums. However, not only does the Moroccanoil protect my hair from heat styling but it's the only one that has actually improved the texture, shine, luster and overall health of my hair. When I finish this bottle I will definitely be repurchasing the large size. The only downside to this product is the packaging. I wish that it came with a pump. Instead it's a glass bottle with a regular screw-on cap. It's just not ideal. You risk knocking it over, spilling the expensive oil, possibly even breaking it if it fell on a hard surface. I did accidentally knock over my bottle once but luckily the thick oil is slow moving and I didn't lose any.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Frosted
rated 5 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/9/2009 10:33:00 PM

Gorgeous Shimmery Champagne with Golden Frost. Very similar to MAC Gel. In fact they are so close I had to do a side-by-side comparison. So I applied MAC Gel on the left side my lips and Rimmel Frosted on the right. ~The Results~ Appearance: Gel has more golden frosty shimmer with a satin lustre finish. Rimmel has slightly less frost and has a more shiny or glossy finish. Although the colors are so similar, Gel appears to have a lighter shade of gold frost. Where Rimmel's frost looks a touch more golden-bronze. Texture: There is a noticeable difference in how these two lipsticks feel on your lips. Rimmel is a little more slippery, it's very moist and feels lip-glossy. Gel has a drier more lipstick-like feel but is still moisturizing. Staying Power: Gel lasts much longer. However, we are comparing a $15.00 Lipstick and a $5.00 Lipstick. There is no question MAC lipsticks are higher quality but for $5.00 Rimmel Frosted is an excellent dupe for MAC Gel. If you love shimmering champagne lipsticks and would definitely recommend you give these a try. Choose which ever one fits your budget best. Tip: If you apply MAC Myth as a base and then apply Rimmel Frosted, it transforms into a Cremesheen-like dupe for MAC Creme D'Nude!

Lipstick -NYX - Harmonica
rated 4 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/9/2009 9:15:00 PM

I Love Light Pink Frosty Lipsticks! So I really like this NYX Harmonica. It's a beautiful pale pink frost. If you don't like frosts do not buy this color. It does offer good color pay off. However, the color in the tube is much more of a Bubblegum Pink and some might expect that to be the color result on their lips but keep in mind this is a frost formula. Frosts do not have the same bold color as a Matte or Satin. While I do like this color... I do not like the consistency. Another reviewer made the statement that it moves around a lot and that's true. It's very slippery. Which can make it look a little blotchy...and we don't want blotchy. It's not a good look. So when you wear this try not to apply too much, don't glide it across your lips rather dab it on, also don't rub your lips together just gently press them together and always do a vanity check when you re-apply. These tips will help it wear more evenly.

Lipstick -NYX - Narcissus
rated 3 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/9/2009 8:29:00 PM

Okay this is definitely a BRIGHT Barbie Pink. I like Bubblegum Barbie Pinks but this is too 80's Neon Hot Pink...and I'm not a fan of the 80's. This is not a very wearable color. I can't pull this color off by itself, I would feel too self-conscious. However, I do have a solution to make Narcissus more wearable. It's called MAC Myth. I apply Myth first as my base and then lightly dab on Narcissus. NOT TOO MUCH! It's very pigmented and a little goes a LONG way. Press your lips together and the colors will have blended. The result is a softer Bubblegum Pink, a much more wearable color. I think it's safe to say I won't be buying Narcissus again, but since I've already used it and can't return it... I will make the best of it.

Lip Liners -Rimmel - Exaggerate-063 Eastend Snob
rated 5 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/9/2009 7:32:00 PM

I will admit I'm a highend snob and I tend to ignore drugstore makeup. But I'm so sorry now! I went into CVS to check out that YSL Lingerie Pink Lipstick Dupe (NYX Strawberry Milk) Unfortunately they were sold out. However, I found this Rimmel Eastend Snob Lip Liner, got home, tried it on and fell in love! This is the perfect creamy pink! I've tried many highend Lip Liners, but they were always the wrong shade of pink. Too light, too dark, too bright, whatever. But this Eastend Snob is the sexiest pink ever! It goes with all of my Pink Lipsticks and Lip Glosses. I'm very impressed with the excellent quality. It glides on creamy and smooth, it has good staying power and is even retractable! When comparing this to my MAC and NARS Liners, the quality was equal in my opinion. What a find! I will definitely be repurchasing this lip liner and I will treasure hunt in the drugstores more often.

Shampoo -Clairol - Shimmer Lights
rated 5 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/6/2009 6:07:00 PM

I've been highlighting my hair blonde for many years now. My naturally dark brown hair tends to pulls red tones very easily. Making it quite the task to get beyond the red, orange, yellow and just overall warmth. I've used other Toners such as L'Oreal Tone Refiner which works excellent for me. However, I only use the Tone Refiner the day after highlighting. It's $10 a box and I'm not spending that every week to maintain my color. So, at an incredible reasonable price I found Shimmer Lights. Wow, what an amazing Toner! Usually between highlighting sessions my hair would slowly lose that beige blonde color and get a bit of warmth and brassiness. Not anymore! I use Shimmer Lights twice a week and the results are to die for! This Shampoo gently whitens my yellow-brassy blonde to a sexy shade of light beige blonde. With minimal effort! I do agree with other reviewers that Shimmer Lights can be drying, but honestly being a moisturizing shampoo is not it's purpose. You just need to use a good conditioner afterwards. I'll use my regular conditioner and then my deep conditioning MoroccanOil Intense Hydrating Mask and my hair is silky soft, shiny and drenched with moisture. Regarding the awful "Old Lady" smell that many reviewers have talked about...This was the only reason I almost passed on this Shampoo. I'm highly sensitive to smells, to the point where I can't sleep. So lets break this down. First, I agree it does not smell good sniffing directly from the bottle or even in the shower. However, I took the time to rinse my hair really well, then I condition and rinse well again. I get out of the shower and apply my MoroccanOil Hair Mask and leave it in for 30 minutes. Jump back in the shower and rinse a third time. By the time I finished this little hair care ritual of mine, I couldn't smell the Shimmer Lights and if I could it was so faint it actually smelled good. Especially after using the MoroccanOil. I will absolutely purchase Shimmer Lights again, that is... if I ever run out! (I bought the huge size with the pump :)

Lipstick -MAC - Blankety
rated 4 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/1/2009 10:48:00 PM

I admit that I bought this lipstick on a whim, I got home, tried it on and I was not impressed. The neutral pink-beige color seemed unexciting, bland and boring. However, I tried it again and realized this is an important lipstick shade to have, it's a very wearable color, it's considered a nude but actually gives a touch of natural looking color to your lips. It's like your lips but better. Most of the nude lipsticks I own are made to blank out pigmentation and lighten your lips, so this is a good alternative nude. It's also a great lipstick to pair with smokey eyes. The formula is delightfully rich and creamy. I recommend checking out Blankety...only if...you do not own a similar color. I still say it's not the most exciting and it's not necessarily a unique color but the formula is excellent.

Lipstick -MAC - Snob lipstick
rated 5 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 8/1/2009 9:57:00 PM

Update! I originally gave Snob a 4 but I'm changing it to 5 because I found that when Snob is applied over MAC Myth, it's becomes such a sexy shade of pink! I love it! It reminds me of YSL Lingerie Pink! This is a very unique shade of Bubblegum Pink with a Purple-Lavender undertone. Depending on the lighting it can appear either more Pink or more Lavender. I prefer the Bubblegum Pink look. The Lavender tone can take a some getting use to, but you can instantly warm up the color by applying a touch of pink or nude lipgloss. Snob is a satin but it looks and feels more matte. It has excellent staying power, however it can dry your lips a little which is another reason I would suggest topping it off with a lip gloss, that extra moisture will keep your lips soft and plumped. This is a lovely color but honestly not everyone can pull it off. I'm an NC35 and although I do really like this lipstick, I feel that it will be more wearable when I have a slightly darker tan. So I'm giving Snob a 4 instead of 5 because it takes a little extra effort to make this color work on me.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara
rated 5 of 5
PinkSoFoxy 7/31/2009 3:35:00 AM

This was my staple drugstore mascara for 10 years. I always like to check out other highend mascaras too but this is an excellent formula. No clumps or fallout. The semi-firm bristles coat each lash, creating longer, fuller and softer looking lashes. What you get is...more dramatic looking lashes without the dramatic price. You simply can't go wrong with Voluminous.
