Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
rated 3 of 5
PISALISA 10/7/2012 9:20:00 PM

This is a mediocre foundation. It goes on smoothly but the finish is very weird. It's almost like a thick, powdery finish. I picked a neutral shade and it had a very yellow-ish hue. It made me look very sallow. The coverage was decent but my face was an oil slick within 2 hours. This foundation also feels very weighed down on my face. I found that I couldn't wait to get home and wash my face at the end of my work days. Will not repurchase simply because there are so many better foundations out there.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 5 of 5
PISALISA 10/7/2012 9:03:00 PM

This is an oldie but goodie foundation. I HATED this foundation when I first tried it a couple of years ago. It made me look ghostly pale and I had a mask-like mono-toned face after applying it. It was also very drying. A few months after giving up on Colorstay, I read a review that said the best way to apply this foundation is with a damp sponge. I went out and bought a color that was a couple shades darker than the Ivory that I had tried and hated before. I ended up purchasing the Colorstay for dry skin in the shade "Nude". I then applied my new shade with a wet Beauty Blender sponge. Whoa! What a difference the correct shade makes! The wet sponge thinned out the foundation just enough that I didn't get the dreaded "mask" effect. What I was left with was a stunning, naturally flawless and lasting finish. Seriously, I apply this foundation every morning at 5:00 and it looks just as fresh at 9:00 at night. It is not tacky feeling and doesn't oxidize or cause an oil slick. I have tried many other foundations and none of them compare to this tried-and-true foundation. I did try the whipped version when it came out and I liked it but it broke me out horribly. The original formula never breaks me out. Will repurchase forever!

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Revitalift Radiant Smoothing Cleansing Towelettes
rated 2 of 5
PISALISA 10/7/2012 8:22:00 AM

These towelettes are pretty useless for removing most makeup. I use Colorstay most days and it requires about 5 wipes just to remove the Colorstay foundation. It is also useless on waterproof mascara and burned my eyes. Walgreen's sells off-brand wipes that work far better and are more moist. Waste of money.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint
rated 5 of 5
PISALISA 9/25/2012 7:40:00 PM

Posietint is my favorite color in the Benetint line. This is a very sweet, cotton candy pink cheek and lip stain. Posietint only shows up on my paler winter complexion. It's too light to notice on my slightly deeper summer complexion. That being said, I like the subtleness of this product. It really looks very natural and blends better than Benetint or Cha-ChaTint. I love this color on my lips too. The staying power isn't nearly as good on the lips but it is the only Benefit stain that doesn't dry my lips out. I only wish Benefit would lose the lame nailpolish-like brush. A sponge-tip applicator would make a world of difference. But I still love my Posietint and will repurchase if I ever run out.

Bronzers -Too Faced - Chocolate Soleil
rated 5 of 5
PISALISA 9/25/2012 7:11:00 PM

I admit, most of my love for this bronzer is because of the chocolately aroma. I have certainly used better bronzers but I honestly don't think I can go a single day without smelling Chocolate Soleil on my face. The color is a rich brown...not orange at all. I also like that it has some serious staying power. My only gripe is that it is a little too easy to go overboard with this bronzer because it is super dense and pigmented for a powder bronzer. The right brush and a light hand keeps the Jersey Shore effect in check. I will certainly repurchase again but I am thinking about trying the Milk Chocolate version next time. This bronzer is worth every cent! Oh and it actually tastes like cocoa too!

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup
rated 3 of 5
PISALISA 9/16/2012 3:18:00 PM

**EDIT**...When I wrote this review, I was still on my honeymoon with this foundation. lol. I have noticed that the colors offered in this line mostly lean very yellow (even the cool tones). Also, the mid day oilies set in and oxidize it pretty harshly. I will not be repurchasing again. ***Original sappy post** I really like this foundation. I was not expecting much in coverage because of the reviews I've read here on MUA. I think the color selection leaves a little bit to be desired but I found an almost perfect perfect match in Warm Golden. Lumi goes on like a dream. Very smooth and easily blended. The coverage for me is Medium/Full. I expected my face to be a shiny mess by mid-day but I can honestly say it looks just as fresh by 3 pm as it does when I apply it at 6 am. The finish is gorgeous. It's more of a satin finish instead of a dewy finish. This is definitely one of the best DS foundations I have ever used. Will repurchase for sure. I'm hoping I can find a paler color-match for my winter complexion.

Bronzers -St.Tropez - Self Tan Bronzing Mousse
rated 4 of 5
PISALISA 9/11/2012 11:51:00 AM

I can't say I loved this self tanner but I do like it. Bare Escentuals Faux Tan gives much better color than St Tropez. I do like that the application is a cinch and the bronzing guide isn't overly rediculous looking. It also smells wonderful compared to any self tanner on the market. I wish it gave more color with just one application. For this reason, I'd recommend this product for the winter months. I don't want to look unrealistically dark in the winter, so this tanner will be of more use at that time. The wear-off is also better than others on the market. No flaking off or white patches. It literally just fades until it's gone. Would I buy this again? No. Just too expensive for a slight tan. I've literally used gradual tanners that left me darker after one use.

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection PinPoint
rated 2 of 5
PISALISA 9/10/2012 8:21:00 PM

This is supposed to be a tubing mascara...and I love tubing mascaras. However, this mascara is very waxy and still smudges terribly. Removal is not as easy as Blinc mascara or L'oreal's. I expected the tubes to slide right off with warm water but it just smeared all over like a waterproof mascara. Also, this mascara added zero volume or length. I gave it two lippies only because I've tried worse mascaras. Definitly will not repurchase.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Complexion Brush
rated 5 of 5
PISALISA 9/1/2012 4:48:00 PM

Can it be? The best brush I've ever owned cost only $3.00. The ELF Complexion brush is super soft and perfect for blending or all over bronzing. It actually gives a "buffing" effect when I use it with my HD powder. No annoying bristle fall-out and sturdy. I'm very impressed with this brush!

Polishes -OPI - Bubble Bath
rated 1 of 5
PISALISA 8/30/2012 7:55:00 PM

So I bought "Bubble Bath" based on the love it gets here at MUA. I'm not going to sugar-coat it...this is the suckiest nailpolish I have ever used. It requires several coats to achieve an opaque finish and it's streaky beyond belief. After applying 3 or 4 coats (to get decent coverage), my nails stay tacky all night and inevitably get ruined when I go to bed. It's polishes like this one which have drawn me away from OPI... and on to brands like Essie.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Vanilla Lace Silkening Body Splash
rated 5 of 5
PISALISA 8/11/2012 7:42:00 PM

Holy cow this is the best thing I've ever laid my nose on! Vanilla Lace smells exactly like vanilla extract. I can't believe that I have overlooked this fragrance for years while purchasing scents like Pear Glace and Strawberries and Champagne. This is a dead-on PERFECT vanilla scent. Not foody or sickeningly sweet at all. My search for the perfect vanilla fragrance is over! And it's a bonus that it only costs $12!

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Eye booster eyeliner + serum
rated 4 of 5
PISALISA 8/3/2012 5:26:00 AM

First I want to say that this eyeliner gets an A++++++ for ease of lining. It's fine tip is perfect for making a cat eye or tight lining. The downside is that I like my liner to be more opaque. This is definitely a shiny black. Also, it tends to crinkle and crease and fade a little after a couple of hours. I have not noticed any difference with my eyelashes but I honestly didn't expect to get longer-than-life lashes from an eyeliner anyway. All in all, this is a pretty decent and easy liner to use. I find myself reaching for it on lazy make-up days because it gets the job done quickly.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner in Blackest Black
rated 3 of 5
PISALISA 7/21/2012 1:17:00 PM

Maybe it's just me but I've not had very good luck with this liner. It glides on easily towards the outer parts of my eyes but it's very cumbersome to achieve a smooth line towards the inner parts of my upper lids. This product also smudges and is not as opaque as I'd like it to be. I also find that it's difficult to correct any mistakes. I often have to remove all of my eye make up and start over if I mess up. This is just too much work for an eyeliner.

Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
rated 2 of 5
PISALISA 7/21/2012 6:58:00 AM

**EDIT: This mascara smudges too easily. It's quite sad that this mascara makes my eyelashes look amazing but by lunch time I look like a Panda. Fix this, Jordana! I want to love my lashes again! ***ORIGINAL REVIEW: So I had to try this mascara after seeing the cult-like status it has achieved here at MUA. It was super easy to find at my local Walgreen's and only cost like $2.50. As soon as I returned home from purchasing this mascara, I immediately washed off my eye make up to give it a whirl. I have to say...I see what all of the hub-bub is about! My eyelashes where immediately transformed into longer than life lashes. I mean, I could jump rope with them if I really tried. Volume wise, I've used better. But, the results were still stellar. No clumps, very smooth application and super black results. This mascara makes me look like I'm wearing false lashes (Unlike some other brands that claim to do the same). The only con is that it tends to stay wet a little too long. My bottom lash line had some pretty serious product-transfer after about 5 minutes. But, this was not anticipated when I first tried it and I have since learned to not blink while it is still wet. This is an amazing mascara for the price. Just wish it would be a little less wet.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes
rated 5 of 5
PISALISA 7/16/2012 9:01:00 PM

For once I am glad that I didn't check the reviews on Million Lashes before buying it. This mascara is PERFECT! It holds a curl like it's nobody's business! The trick is to comb it through the tips of your lashes quickly and lightly. Then take the wand and wiggle it along the base of your lashes. Wa-la! Perfect doll-baby lashes! No smudging, no smearing and no flaking! I love this mascara!
