Concealers -Essence - Stay All Day Long Lasting Concealer
NikitaRose 10/18/2012 10:39:00 AM
I am so impressed with this concealer. I used to trust drugstore brands with everything except for concealer and foundation but I guess this is about to change. The bad thing is this concealer is only available in two shades, 010 Natural beige and 020 Soft beige (named 010 Soft beige and 020 Soft Nude in the US but I am guessing the colors are the same) but the good news is that 010 matches my NW15 skin, I think the color is even closer to being NW10. I have dry skin and don't have problems with concealers fading on me so I can't comment on its staying power, I can just say that it covers dark circles surprisingly well and I don't experience any creasing during the day. The consistency is creamy, not too thin, thick or waxy. The product does not have a scent. The applicator is a spatula, similar to a lip gloss. I only use this on my under eye circles and around my nose so I don't know how well it covers imperfections on other areas of your face. I might come back and add a lippie but I have only been using it for a week and just had to come here and write this review.

Lipstick -Essence - Lipstick in Look at me
NikitaRose 10/18/2012 8:20:00 AM
This is a shiny frosty brownish pink color that doesn't look very flattering on my NW15 skintone but would probably look much better on ladies with darker skin. It has some sparkles which are more visible in artificial lighting and they make the color appear even frostier than it really is. It has the typical fruity bubblegum Essence lipstick scent that I quite like. The staying power isn't good, an hour or two at best. The consistency is really thin but it does glide on the lips easily. It is more similar in texture to a lip balm than a lipstick. It is a nice product for teenage girls but there's so much better stuff out there for the same price or even cheaper (NYX, e.l.f.). The packaging looks super cheap but at least the lipstick twists all the way down.

Lips -Kiko Cosmetics - Pencil Lip Gloss - ALL
NikitaRose 10/17/2012 5:49:00 PM
I quite like these, I have two colors (out of 16 available), a brownish nude and a glittery fuchsia pink. They glide on the lips easily but the staying power isn't that great. I was surprised this really looked a lot like a real gloss on the lips, shiny and creamy. I would buy a few more colors if I really liked them but the formula isn't that spectacular and 4€ isn't that cheap considering KIKO has many other better products.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Last Matte Lipstick in 901B Think Pink
NikitaRose 10/17/2012 5:01:00 PM
I bought Think Pink this summer and fell in love with it immediately. The color was a perfect natural pink, it was creamy, matte and opaque in one coat. But then the outside temperature changed and it really affected the performance of this lipstick (and other Wnw mattes as well). It doesn't glide on as easily and after application it dries on my lips right away, if I press my lips together (which I know I probably shouldn't do) I get a weird line on my cupid's bow and it doesn't look pretty. It lasts for hours but when I look in the mirror at the end of the evening the color is clinging to the dry patches of my lips (where the lips press together). The lipstick itself is great, it has no smell or taste, the only other problem with it is the packaging, the lipstick doesn't retract all the way onto the tube so there's a big chance you'll hit it with the cap. I still think it is a great buy and I would repurchase.

Lips -Nivea - A Kiss of Milk and Honey
NikitaRose 10/12/2012 3:27:00 PM
This lip balm is quite creamy and it smells nice but it doesn't last long on the lips at all. Perhaps it still moisturizes them but an hour after application I can't feel the product on my lips at all. The scent doesn't really remind me of milky or honey, perhaps an artificial, synthetic version of it. Considering Nivea balms always smell nice the scent of this isn't anything special and even if I repurchased it wouldn't be in this flavor/scent. Not bad but I enjoy my Blistex, Carmex and Hurraw lip balms a lot more.

Sunscreen -Garnier - Garnier Ambre Solaire Clear Protect 30
NikitaRose 10/12/2012 3:18:00 PM
I like how quickly this absorbs and that it doesn't leave an oily feeling on my skin but I really hate the scent, it smells like bug repellent to me. It's also hard to tell where it has already been applied because it dries so fast. People with oily skin might enjoy it but mine is dry so the fact that it doesn't leave me oily(er) doesn't matter that much to me.

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick- all shades (new for Winter '08)
NikitaRose 10/10/2012 1:29:00 AM
I had four or five of these lipsticks and because they are being discontinued in (my part of?) Europe I was able to get them for cheaper in many stores in the last months. I gave ''Really red'' and ''In the red'' to my friend because they were not creamy enough (I like my reds creamy) and because the color wasn't very flattering on my NW15 skin, plus they looked like they were dupes of each other so there was no point in having both. I really don't understand how one range that contains about 20-30 lipsticks includes two that look almost the same. Nude attitude had a nice formula but the color was catastrophic, it was a sickly orangey nude, not a pretty pink/brown one so I tossed it a week after I got it. I really like Pink about it and it is probably my favorite shade in the range, very vibrant and summery. The formula unfortunately does accentuate any dry spot and even moisturizing beforehand doesn't help a lot plus you end up with glossy lips which isn't the look I go for when I buy a matte lipstick. Sky Pink (which I am not sure belongs in this range) is a beautiful color but because of its paleness the dry patches are even more obvious and even good preparation of lips doesn't help IMO. All in all I am happy that there is a matte range in drugstores but the formula really isn't anything special, I find Wet n' wild's matte lipstick line much better. Once applied on the lips the feeling wasn't that uncomfortable but it still wasn't that pleasant to wear. The lipstick doesn't have a scent or taste. I would buy again because I noticed some shades are better than others and because there are so many pretty colors in it. I am quite sad that I couldn't get my hands on Strawberrry suede.

Mascara -Kiko Cosmetics - Kiko Top Coat Lengthening Mascara
NikitaRose 9/29/2012 4:02:00 PM
I really love this mascara, it separates the lashes so well and the length it gives you is pretty incredible. I use it on its own, not as a top coat, because I feel a combination of two mascaras might give me clumpy lashes. I first bought the ''volumizing top coat mascara'' and like it a lot as well but this one is better. The brush is very unusual shape but it makes it easier to reach every lash. I love the shiny green packaging as well, would definitely buy again. I got this on sale for 5€, its usual price is 7.20€.

Mascara -Max Factor - False Lash Effect 24 Hour Mascara
NikitaRose 9/23/2012 1:26:00 PM
I bought this product because Covergirl's Lash Blast is my HG but since I live in Europe and it isn't available here I searched the internet and found out Max factor's ''False lash effect'' is actually the same product because MF and CG are the same company, they just each sell their products on different markets. I meant to buy the original False lash effect mascara but I got a got a good deal on this new 24-hour one and I didn't think it could be this much different that the original. Well..it is. The shape of the brush is identical and so is the container (apart from the color) but the formula... It is by far the worst mascara I have ever bought and the first one I tossed in the trash after only a month of use. The formula is so wet but it still somehow manages to clump, almost glue my lashes together. I NEVER had problems with mascara smudging, smearing, flaking etc but this one always smudges under my eyes, in fact it's enough for me to touch my lower lashes with the brush and I am left with little mascara dots under my eyes. After application I have to wait at least a minute for it to dry and not leave smears under my eyebrows but in the summer waiting doesn't help because it smears anyway, probably because the lashes touch the skin which is hot and a bit sweaty which results in transfer marks all over my lids. But the worst part is taking this off at night. Whenever I was wearing this mascara I was left with a coat of mascara on my lashes for the next two days because it just doesn't come off and I use frickin' Bioderma. I also tried Neutrogena's eye make-up remover and baby oil and neither of them helped. This isn't a 24 hour mascara, it's a 48+ hour mascara but unfortunately it doesn't stop it from smudging so I really have no use for its ''amazing'' staying power. The only thing I really like about it is the brush but that is of course the same on other false lash effect mascaras so there's no point in buying this one. BTW Covergirl has also recently come out with a ''Lash Blast 24 hour'' mascara and since I suspect this is the same product I would AVOID it at all costs.

Blush -Superdrug - MUA (Make Up Academy) Blush Shade 1
NikitaRose 9/19/2012 6:31:00 PM
This is a wonderful corally pink blush. It reminds me a bit of Sleek's Rose gold but it has less shimmer and is not as peachy. I have about 30 blushes in my collection and most look a lot alike but comparing this MUA #1 blush to them I was surprised I don't have a single dupe for it, it's pretty..dare I say it..unique. I don't own MAC's Pink swoon so I can't comment on the similarities between the two. Since e.l.f. is not as cheap in Europe as it is in the US (even the 1 dollar essential line blushes cost 1.50 pounds here and these have recently been repacked and their price increased to 2.5 pounds) the MUA blushes are by far the cheapest option out there. They are not amazingly pigmented but they show up on my (very fair skin) very well. I would rate them about 4.5 lippies but considering they cost 1 pound (and I got them on sale for 25% off) the quality for the price is unbeatable. I have already purchased other shades and plan to buy all of them. Unfortunately the packaging isn't very sturdy and one of the blushes already broke on the way to me but I am so in love with the color I kept it and might purchase a replacement soon.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
NikitaRose 8/9/2012 10:10:00 AM
This has got to be one of my favorite lip products ever. I have 11 colors and I plan to buy at least five more. What they all have in common is the glossy texture and the shiny finish, it really is a perfect combination of gloss and lipstick but fortunately the texture here isn't sticky at all (and my hair never gets caught in it). Some shades have a little shimmer in them but it's not very noticeable, in fact I quite like it. Some colors have a very very subtle vanilla scent but mostly I don't smell anything when I apply it. To be honest I think each shade of the product should be reviewed separately because they really are very different. The pigmentation varies a lot and so does the wear time but on average they last two to three hours on me. I would separate them into two groups. Some shades remind me of a tinted lip balm and might look weird on very pigmented lips (Strawberry shortcake, Cotton candy, Cupcake, Creme Brulee, Berry smoothie). The other shades are in my opinion true lipsticks with a very glossy finish (Candy apple, Cherry tart, Red velvet, Lollipop, Raspberry pie) and perfect for people who want to try color on their lips but are a little intimidated by bright lipsticks. Sweet tart kinda belongs in both groups. I have to say I have pretty dry lips and this product hasn't dried them out at all and definitely didn't cause any peeling or allergies. Lip butter is in my opinion a very appropriate name, it does apply on your lips like butter (especially in the summer months). I love it much much more than the Korres Lip butter. The only con for me is that because of the creamy texture the product gets used up pretty fast but since the product was so cheap I don't mind it too much. The sad thing is that these are much more expensive in other countries (8 pounds in the UK, 12€ in Italy) so I would definitely not buy as many colors as I did. I can't wait to get Tutti frutti, Sugar plum, Gumdrop, Pink truffle next time I'm in the US, I might even get Peach parfait which lots of people seem to hate because of the big glitter particles. The packaging reminds me of the Dior Lip glow. The casing matches the shade of the lipstick and I would say it looks really stylish in some colors (soft pinks) and pretty horrible and cheap in others (reds). I agree that the base of the lipstick should be bigger so the cap would be easier to pull off but since it was so cheap I don't mind it. Great product.

Sunscreen -Hawaiian Tropic - Silk Hydration Broad Spectrum SPF 30
NikitaRose 8/6/2012 3:47:00 PM
I have never rated a sunscreen so I have no idea what I should comment on. If it was a face sunscreen I could at least say how it feels under foundation but I can't do that here. Anyway, the scent is what made me buy it in the first place, it is very summery and smells like a mix of coconut and banana to me, but in a good, not cocktail-y/bubblegum-y way. I never got sunburned when I was wearing it but I don't go to the beach before 3PM/4PM anyway. I have no idea if it's really water resistant because I always apply another layer when I come out of the water just in case. It's easy to spread, doesn't feel greasy or oily and it dries pretty quickly so you don't walk around all shiny. I would repurchase and I might try the SPF50 version as well. I've only used Nivea and Garnier sunscreens till now, this one is a bit more pricey (12/13€ in my country) but it's worth it.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Last Lip Color in Pinkerbell
NikitaRose 8/6/2012 3:38:00 PM
OMG I adore this lipstick. In the past months I got fed up with cool toned pinks so I fell in love with this color the minute I saw the swatch. I don't have MAC's Nicki so I have no idea which one is better, all I know is this one has a better rating, just don't know if it's because it's better or just because it's so much cheaper. Like the other lipsticks in Wnw's Mega lasts range this lipstick doesn't have any shimmer or glitter, it is matte but it has a creamy texture. It's not drying at all. It's summer here now so the lipstick feels very creamy and not at all drying on my lips but I'm not sure it will perform as well in cooler months, at least the other lipsticks in the Mega last range don't (as far as I can remember). It lasts about three hours on me. It doesn't have a scent or taste. The color is quite flattering on my NW15 skin and it looks even better when I put a little self-tanner on. I would definitely repurchase. I just really hate the packaging, I always fear the cap will fall off or that I will hit the lipstick with it.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Cooling After Sun Spray
NikitaRose 8/6/2012 3:01:00 PM
This is called Moisturizing after sun spray in my country (or maybe it's called like that everywhere) but I noticed the bottle is exactly the same as the ''Cooling after sun spray'' bottle so I'm guessing it's the same product. I didn't like it either, it's not very cooling, the texture is thin and watery and it seems it evaporates in a matter of minutes. Maybe it helps burnt skin in other ways but it didn't make it feel any better after I sprayed it. It does have a weird man cologne-ish scent which I really hated because it's the last thing I want to smell when my skin is burning. I ended up spraying loads of product on my skin to make it feel a tiny bit better at that moment and I guess that's how I'm going to use it up, maybe I should have put it in the fridge and it would have felt even better. The only reason I am giving it three instead of two stars is because when I got sunburned I only burned my back and the back of my legs. The lower part of my back started peeling a few days later and that was the only part I didn't spray this product on (couldn't reach it) so maybe this spray DID help..or maybe that part was just burnt the most.

Eyeliner -Superdrug - MUA Liquid Eyeliner - Shade 2 (Blue)
NikitaRose 8/6/2012 10:51:00 AM
I love colored eyeliners, I have KIKO's and Milani's but they are completely waterproof and so hard to remove. This MUA eyeliner is different, it isn't as pigmented and you sometimes need to apply two layers for the color to really pop but it's so much easier to remove, it just flakes off after you press a cotton pad with some eye make-up remover against the eye. I use a waterproof one so perhaps a normal or gentle one wouldn't work so well. It's far from perfect but I like it for what it is. Also, eyeliners almost never fade or smudge on me so perhaps it might not work so well for people with oily lids. I also have to say I love the brush, it's more firm than the Milani/KIKO one which makes application easier. Would repurchase and for one pound I think every colored-eyeliner-fan out there should give it a try. PS - The color is simply gorgeous.
