Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Generic Concentrated Leave-In Treatment: Compare to Sebastian Potion 9
NatalieJ 10/10/2010 12:34:00 AM
I cannot believe I've never reviewed this product before, as it's the one I've been faithful to the longest, out of everything I've tried over the years. This stuff is quite simply FANTASTIC. It's an exact replica of Sebastian Potion 9 but far cheaper. I get it at Sally's and can pick up a 6.8 oz tube for $5.99 with my Sally's card. I have curly, frizz-bomb hair and this is the only thing that tames it. I follow the Deva method, but first squeeze out my hair just a bit, apply at least two quarter-sized dollops, and then gel. If I use a third dollop, my crazy curls become much more relaxed--almost wavy. I swear, this stuff solves almost every hair disaster. Super humid day? Put double the normal amount on. Frizz creeping up on you? Rub some between your palms and smooth your hair down. Some leave-ins can make my hair look greasy, but it's near-impossible with this stuff. It keeps my hair in great shape; my hairdresser has quit trying to sell me expensive conditioners. I can't actually remember how long I've been buying it, but it's been well over five years, probably around seven or eight.

Eye Shadow -Fyrinnae - Loose Eyeshadow in Snow Leopard
NatalieJ 10/7/2010 7:22:00 PM
I got this as a free sample in my recent order. I love it -- on me, it's a medium bronzy taupe with silver shimmer. I'd love it better if it were a tad darker or had gold shimmer, but it's a beautiful neutral that I've been wearing a lot.

Eye Shadow -Fyrinnae - Koala

Hands down, my favorite e/s out of my recent six item order. It looks pretty blah in the jar. But when I put it on, it's a gorgeous lighter taupey brown with purple undertones and some silver shimmer. It's defying my description, but a lovely neutral with a little punch.

Eye Shadow -Fyrinnae - Loose Eyeshadow in Ravens and Writing Desks
NatalieJ 10/7/2010 7:15:00 PM
I am always on the lookout for a nice purple/violet shadow to make my green eyes pop. Trouble is, 95% of them make me look pink-eyed and rabbity. Unfortunately, this shadow also makes me look terrible, I'm so sad, because it's a gorgeous light purple with pink undertones. It's a fab color, but just not on me. (This is also is the least sparkly of the Fyrinnae shadows I ordered in my 6 item order, and all were matte to low shimmer.) I really, really wanted to love this, but no go.

Eye Shadow -Fyrinnae - Cookie Dough
NatalieJ 10/7/2010 7:10:00 PM
Eh. This is nothing special on me. Super neutral shade leaning towards cool; I think I'd like it better if it was a tad warmer. Kinda reminds me of Stila's Kitten. It makes an ok highlighter.

Eye Shadow -Fyrinnae - Envy Me Loose Powder
NatalieJ 10/3/2010 1:15:00 AM
On me, it's a lovely taupe with green highlights. I hesitated to order this because this is classified as one of their medium shimmers, and I like matte or low shimmer. However, this isn't any sparklier than most of the low shimmers I received (Orangutan, Cookie Dough, Koala, and Snow Leopard). I like it a lot but I'm not in love. However, I've gotten compliments the few times I've worn this. Think I could grow to love it!

Eye Shadow -Fyrinnae - Orangutan
NatalieJ 9/26/2010 2:17:00 AM
I just received my first order from Fyrinnae, and this is my least favorite shadow. The pics on their website show a fairly matte dark muted peach. Uh...not really, at least on me. It's named Orangutan for a reason, people. It went on fairly orange/coppery; there's no muted peach about it. It was also much more sparkly that I anticipated. I will say that most of the Fyrinnae colors were sparklier than I hoped, but sparkly and the color of an orangutan is not optimum. It's wearable if I apply it veryveryvery sparingly and go over it with a brush, but otherwise it's a no-go.

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Natural Finish- Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15 [DISCONTINUED]
NatalieJ 8/11/2010 12:55:00 AM
I've been wearing Bobbi's Oil-Free in Beige 3 for years. Loved the color match and coverage, but not so thrilled with the fact that it wore off so fast. Couldn't find a replacement I liked until this one! I wear a 3.5 in this formula. Goes on and looks virtually identical to the old Oil-Free, but wears longer. I'm in the 40+ club and have combo skin that doesn't break out, and my skin loves this formula. I'm trying to adjust to the pump dispenser, but really like how it keeps the product sanitary. All in all, I'm a pretty happy girl with this foundation.

Treatments -E.L.F. - Nourishing Cuticle Pen
NatalieJ 5/12/2010 12:55:00 AM
I don't know if I got a bad pen, but this applied very little product. What actually made it on to my nails did nothing at all for them. Total crap--I want my buck back!

Blush -Maybelline - Dream mousse blush in soft plum [DISCONTINUED]

I picked this up at Dollar Tree yesterday. Heavenly texture and lovely color, with great staying power. I just wish it didn't have the crazy silver sparkles. I would wear this every day if it was matte (or even with less shiny stuff), but will have to use it occasionally.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Cyndi [DISCONTINUED]

Love the color! On me, it is coral with a hint of red. I would prefer it to be a bit redder, but it's very pretty as is.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo 6 Piece Brush Set
NatalieJ 4/24/2010 12:30:00 AM
These are ridiculously good brushes for the price. I picked these up at Target for $8.99 because I needed a new blush brush, and it seemed too good to pass up. The blush brush is amazing, better than the MAC one I've purchased over and over again. I really love the concealer brush, it's just the right size and shape. What a steal this is!

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Luminous Moisturizing Foundation
NatalieJ 4/22/2010 7:07:00 PM
I generally love Bobbi's foundations, but I'm on the fence with this one. I love the feel, coverage and color match (Beige), but I think I'm just too old for this. I'm in my 40's and have frankly outgrown the shiny face look. I'd love this foundation if I wasn't **quite** so luminous.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Carmol 20
NatalieJ 4/22/2010 7:03:00 PM
This has been around forever - can't believe I'm the first to review it! Carmol 20 is the most effective cream I've ever used. The secret ingredient is 20% urea, so it may not be for all. It was first recommended to my by a doctor as treatment for athlete's foot (high urea content), but it's an incredible dry skin treatment. A little on the spendy side, but worth it.

Color is great, silver sparkles not so much. Thank goodness it was just a buck!
