I bought this when it came out a few years back and I loved it always had a very oily sometimes spotty skin and it used to create a flawless face. BUT bought this again last week I have been using bare minerals for last few years and just browsing in boots and saw this on offer for £5.00, the shade was definitely right and it applied as it used to and was very happy with my bargain find!. A couple of hours later my husband asked why my skin was looking dry and flaky something that never happens to me, I had a look and was horrified it had sunk into every pore possible and had started to flake off all over my chin and nose! Went straight to wash it off, my skin asnt changed since I first used it and I prepped and primed as normal, so I just don't know whats happened back to bare minerals to me would rather part with £20 and be happy!..
I gave it a 3 for looking great on the toes but I really wanted this for my fingernails!. I don't know if I bought a dodgy bottle but it was thick and creamy and I just couldn't paint it on evenly and it left brush marks on every nail. I was gutted because the colour is gorgeous. At least I can still use it on my toes will look for a less creamy formulation in a similar shade.
I love opi the only brand I use except for my base and top coat and I highly recommend nails inc Kensington caviar for them. Fly is my favourite of my collection at the moment I love bright colours the neutrals and taupes just never look good on me. This is a 2 coat lacquer and with nailsinc top coat will last me at least a week such a vibrant turquoise blue and I love to add the nicki minaj save me glitter over it a must for those who love there brights.
Skincare - Face -Philosophy - When Hope Is Not Enough - Serum
Miltonh81 9/2/2012 11:56:00 AM
No matter what i change with the rest of my skincare routine, I have never had to change serums. I have oily sensitive sometimes blemished skin that did have very enlarged pores. The serum sorted my pores out ages ago. I use this just at night using 5 drops is plenty enough for face and neck, it sinks in immediately and leaves no stickiness which I have had. My skin is still quite oily but the fact that my unsightly pores have been sorted makes this worth every penny as nothing else has given me these results.
My night time moisturiser of choice!. I use this 5 times a week ad slot in my decleor ylang ylang night balm at the weekends. This as helped my oily spotty sensitive skin so much, it is lightweight sinks in immediately and has helped to clear up my spots and I have noticed my very open pores have shrunk a bit. I'm not a believer in using the same brand for a whole routine I did that and my skin got worse this is the best night cream I have found so far.
Toners -Clean & Clear - Deep Cleaning Astringent-Sensitive Skin (blue)
Miltonh81 9/2/2012 2:38:00 AM
This really does remove all the dirt and makeup left behind by my expensive night time cleanser that I don't want to waste!. Its refreshing and doesn't aggravate my oily sensitive skin and has helped to clear my skin of the spotty flare ups I have been getting. It's so cheap aswell as soon as I have finished my cleanser I will just be using this I can get 10 bottles for the price of my decleor cleanser!.
A beautiful refreshing morning cleanser. The citrusy smell is very invigorating and I love the texture as it melts. This has certainly helped my oily skin also and doesn't aggravate any sensitivity I get now and again would highly recommend.
Moisturizers -Elemis - Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream
Miltonh81 9/2/2012 2:25:00 AM
I have dabbled with this moisturiser a few times now and I have stopped now, it always seems to work for a week my skin looks clear and plumper and as an eye cream I'd use all the time but to expensive just for that!. Then after the first week my skin becomes sensitive to it and I get hot red patches. I just had to admit defeat even though I love the texture and smell it's just not agreeing with my skin it certainly is the best eye cream though!.
Treatments (Eye) -Elemis - Pro-Collagen Eye Renewal
Miltonh81 9/2/2012 2:21:00 AM
I'm 30 and have started to develop fine lines under my eyes, I received this in an elemis set and thought it really wouldn't do much. I was wrong the lines have smoothed out and any puffiness I had has gone. I use this all around the eye and only at night as it doesn't absorb very quickly. You really do need only half a pump so be careful not to waste this as it is expensive, I would buy again when funds allow!.
This is my daytime choice of moisturiser, I have been using this for 2 months now and it does help to mattify my oily skin. The fluid is very light and sinks in instantly and it has certainly helped control excess oil through the day. Gives a good base for your makeup and has helped to clear any spots I develop would highly recommend.
Cleansers -Decleor - Cleansing Gel (combination & oily skin)
Miltonh81 9/2/2012 2:12:00 AM
I do like to experiment with the higher end cleansers now and again and I had heard great things about decleor and so bought this and the mattifying toner in the 400ml size expecting really good results. Well I was a bit disappointed, the gel does smell lovely and you only need a little bit for face and neck. The main problem is that it does not remove all dirt and makeup, because when using toner my cotton pads were covered in makeup, I could not send it back so I am using this up but then using clean and clear sensitive astringent afterwards because the toner was still leaving dirt behind the cheaper astringent does a much better job!. Don't be put off decleor though because there balms and moisturisers are fantastic, I just won't invest in the cleansers again.
Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream
Miltonh81 9/1/2012 6:04:00 PM
This is the only hand cream I use now just wish it wasn't so expensive!. I don't have very dry hands but I just find it such an indulgent treat and I adore the scent. It sinks in quickly even though it feels quite rich. I do have the tube winder key which helps to get every last bit out and stops the tube from cracking. Using this along with cuticle oil twice a day has given me hands and nails I can finally be happy with so it's worth the price tag to me.
Gels/Soaps -L'Occitane - Amande Cleansing and Soothing Shower Oil
Miltonh81 9/1/2012 5:55:00 PM
L'occitane is my favourite brand for bath and body and this almond oil is the best of the range. Yes it is pricey but try and get the 500ml pump it lasts me months. I mainly use this in the bath, you only need a drop to produce a gorgeously scented bath of bubbles and the scent is a pleasure to inhale as you relax. I dont feel the need to moisturise after bathing in this and it is also perfect for kids to this is my all time fave bath and body product.
I love anything coconut and this doesn't disappoint, it's great in the bath but even better in the shower, lathers up without having to use loads and leaves skin feeling soft and delicately scented. We don't get that much of a choice of flavours over here in England but I'm glad we can get this one.
Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Vanilla Birthday Cake 3-in-1
Miltonh81 9/1/2012 5:44:00 PM
As a lot of previous reviewers have said it doesn't really smell of anything!, it's hard to find all the scents that are available over here in England so I couldnt wait to try this. It does foam up nicely but the bubbles smell of nothing and there's no lingering vanilla scent whilst you bathe. Must admit my skin feels very soft afterwards.i do own coconut frosting and that is totally the opposite of this smells gorgeous and lingers will buy that one again. For high end bath and shower products I'd highly highly recommend l'occitane.
