Eye Shadow -Milani - Antique Gold #17
MARY48 2/28/2005 12:50:00 AM
Ok, I had to go buy this little number since reading about it. It's a beautiful color, almost like a Lancome compact I had a while ago. I think it was paired with a color called Parma Violet. Anyway, since it's so much like the color of my eyes, I didn't use it on the lid and since it has irridescence, I used it sparingly, in the crease of my lid. Love the cute little container, the price is incredible. I think I love it!!

Loose Powders -Milani - Brightener
MARY48 2/27/2005 11:58:00 PM
Wow was I impressed with the Milani line! I would never have believed that something so cheap be such good quality. The powder is in a cute little container, and just enough not to go to waste in case I do get tired of it and move on to something else. I tried it over some tinted moisterizer, and it was very pleasantly surprised.Didn't dry out my face, and was nicely reflective. I didn't even have any blush on and it still showed my coloring.I am a stickler about how foundations and powders look on me since I am over 50, and this is a powder a woman of any age can wear. Very sheer powder, nice little puff and you simply cannot beat the price, fits any budget.

Mascara -Rimmel - Extreme Definition
MARY48 1/17/2005 2:38:00 PM
Boy did I HATE this mascara!! I tried it on and was horrified to see these stuck together, clumpy lashes in the mirror. Had to do really fast damage control with a fine lash comb(metal ones are the best) and another brush. Wasn't worth all the extra work, to be sure. On the up side, I contacted Coty, which is the parent company for Rimmel. I explained in a letter that I was very disappointed with this one Rimmel product, but told them I loved the other products I have from the line. I got my refund, without any problems. I wouldn't use this particular Rimmel mascara again, although I like the other ones in the line that I've tried.

Brows -Chanel - Perfect Brows
MARY48 1/17/2005 12:51:00 AM
I've had my kit forever! I was lucky enough to have good brows so they just need some "tweaking", hardly ever have to tweeze them. While I think this is about the most excessively expensive kit out there( I could be wrong, surprise, please somebody!) the 3 shades are good for darker brows like mine, but what does a blonde or redhead do? The little tools are neat too. Great for travel, and easy to use. However, I cannot recommend this kit to someone on a budget, I am sure there are some comparable kits out there that are just as nice. Maybelline, for instance, makes a colored brow gel, I happen to reach for that at my dressing table more than the compact. The packaging is great, who wouldn't like a Chanel compact in their bag?

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Age Correct Growth Treatment [DISCONTINUED]
MARY48 1/16/2005 5:13:00 PM
After trying many, many products for my nails, I tried this as a last ditch effort. Well, this is my 4th bottle of the stuff and I love it. My nails used to grow flat and then bend in weird directions when they were long. No more! They have a rounded look and grow straight and strong. I hope Sally Hansen NEVER discontinues this product. I would recommend this to anyone with nails that are troublesome. Update: well I am on my 6th or 7th bottle and don't plan to stop buying this as long as it's on the market. In fact, I try to keep one in reserve when I open a new bottle. Can't say I like the fact that it gunks up about 2/3 of the way into the bottle. Thinning it with nail polish remover doesn't seem to help. I wish that little annoying thing could be corrected, but not at the expense of the product's performance.
