Treatments -Aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Frizz Remedy
LowraLamb 3/10/2011 5:14:00 PM
I prefer 3 Minute Miracle Deeeep to this version. I find that this formulation does nothing for my hair. It's not very moisturizing at all, although its good for detangling. My hair is not super frizzy, so I guess I shouldn't have bothered with this in the first place. It gets points for having the same amazing squirt bottle as Deeeep, and also for having the classic Aussie "grape" scent. (I remember when I was a child and my mother would give me a few spritzes of her Aussie hairspray - I loved the grape scent!)
This is my HG conditioner. I use this EVERY time I shampoo. Currently, my hair is in fabulous shape - due to this. I used to bleach my hair to platinum, with root touch ups every two weeks. This is the ONLY conditioner that kept my hair soft and beautiful. Now I keep my hair jet black, and this keeps it super soft and healthy. I get complimented on how soft and healthy my hair is on a regular basis. The packaging is awesome - squirt and go. - No need to wait for the product towards the end of the bottle to fall down to the opening - its already there. No caps to fumble with either. The price of this is also amazing! I will be using this for the rest of my life.
The first few uses of this, I had really loved it. The size of the eyeliner made it perfect for getting my upper water line - where it wore fairly well. While the size was also awesome for my lower waterline, it didn't hold in place very well and would disappear within an hour or so. I noticed after a few uses that the liner became very dry and crumbly and suddenly very hard to get any color payoff from. I wish it had remained as good as the first few uses had been. Also - this product is super expensive for the amount of product you actually receive. Will not be buying again.
Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Luxe Black Royale

I really like the finished look of this mascara. It never clumps on me, and the tiny amount of blue tinged sparkle is so pretty. At first, I found the fat rubber spiked brush a little odd. I quickly got used to it though and now prefer it to the usual thin bushy brushes that most mascara wands have. I also like that the handle itself is a little chunky, making it easier to grip. My only gripe is that the formula is a little on the dry side, and I find I have to apply a little more pressure to get it to grip and then glide up my lashes. I will definitely buy again, and perhaps even try the other shades in the luxe line.
Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Lemon Drop SPF 15

I really wanted to love this, but it's not happening. I don't find this to be moisturizing at all, and need to reapply every half hour or so. I also feel weird applying this in front of people because of the odd shape and how awkwardly I have to move it around to adequately coat my lips. I will say that it does smell delicious, but even that fades quickly.
Lotions/ Creams -C.O. Bigelow - Chapped Hand Remedy
LowraLamb 3/10/2011 3:19:00 PM
For general hand moisturizing - I wouldn't recommend this. It's not meant to be an every day hand cream. That aside - I swear by this stuff. In the winter months my hands (specifically around the knuckles) take a beating (I hate wearing gloves! lol) and become scaly and cracked and can at times even bleed. My boyfriend is a mechanic. My hands get bad in the winter - his get truly horrendous. C.O. Bigelow Chapped Hands Remedy is a staple for us. We both see massive improvements the next day after applying a good amount to our hands at night. After two nights - we're almost completely healed up. This is the only thing that works effectively and quickly. Yes, it smells very medicinal at first, but the scent fades. Yes, it can be thick and greasy to some - but I bet you are just looking for hand cream and not trying to repair truly chapped and cracked hands. The only minor drawback to me is the price - it's a little steep at $14 for 1.7 oz., but this past winter BBW had buy 2 get one free, so that lessened the pain in the wallet a bit.
Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Yes To Blueberries Daily Repairing Moisturizer

I have been using the "Daily" moisturizer for a few weeks now. While I like the other products from this line that I've tried - I'm on the fence with this one. This moisturizer seems to have a hard time absorbing on me. It actually turns white and has to be rubbed in for a few seconds, but still leaves my face kind of slimy. (Even hours later, I can still feel it). Also - unlike with the Cucumbers daily lotion - one pump from the bottle is MORE than you need to cover your whole face and neck. A full pump actually exacerbates the white film problem. My normally dry areas seem to be doing ok (no flaky-ness, redness or irritation), so it's not all bad. I'm not sure about any of the anti-aging properties as I'm only just turning 29 and don't have any aging concerns that are actually present yet. I'm mostly trying to prevent them from arriving in the first place. I will continue using this until it's finished and then decide if I will buy again. I say "yes" for now, as it is doing a good job of keeping me moisturized without irritating - I'm just not too keen on the seemingly slow absorbing time.
Moisturizers -Yes To Carrots - Yes to Cucumbers Facial Hydrating Lotion
LowraLamb 3/10/2011 3:03:00 PM
I use this EVERY day. Lightweight, super quick absorbing time, no shiny-ness. I also love the pump. One squirt is the perfect amount for my whole face. I also like that on the side of the bottle you can see how much is left, and when finished that you actually got to use ALL of the lotion - there isn't any trapped inside and wasted. I have patches that get very very dry and irritated during winter months. To the point that other moisturizers sting terribly when put on my skin. This never once caused any pain or discomfort, and used morning and night kept my skin from getting flaky.
Cleansers -Yes To Carrots - Yes To Cucumbers Face Cleanser Towelettes

I love these wipes. I keep a package at my desk, on my nightstand, and in my car. They are very refreshing and leave my face feeling soft and clean, but without the greasy/slimy residue that other wipes have. They do a decent job at removing makeup as well, but not a stellar job - although that's not a problem for me as I don't use them for makeup removal. (I rarely wear full makeup, but I like to keep my face feeling clean and these are perfect for a mid-day quick cleanse) I don't find the scent overpowering or off-putting but could understand that others might. ++ for the packaging that keeps them moist!
Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Detoxifying Facial Cleanser

I have been through plenty of cleansers. I have combination skin and get monthly breakouts in my tzone, while having very dry and flaky areas that are even worse during winter months. Most cleansers either help with the breakouts while drying my face to desert status, or they won't, but don't help with clearing up the trouble spots. This is the only cleanser that really works for me. It keeps the oilies and breakouts at bay, but doesn't dry out my skin. I'm not sure of the purpose of the little beads though. They don't seem to dissolve or serve any real purpose. Overall, I'm happy with this cleanser and will repurchase when I finish it off within the next week or so. I took the one lippie off because of the pointless beads that just seem to stick to my face.
