Treatments -Alpha Hydrox - AHA Souffle 12 percent Glycolic AHA
LorelaiNoah 5/11/2010 1:25:00 PM
I used this on my entire face for a month hoping it'd be a miracle worker, as it has been for other MUAers. Unfortunately after much trial & error ~ I've come to the conclusion that my skin does not react well to glycolic products. Thus, this souffle was a nightmare on my face. On the other hand, it seems to work great as an eye cream. There was a sty under my eye for about a year, that I was planning to get removed. I worried this Alpha Hydrox souffle would worsen it...but it actually ended up doing the complete opposite. This stuff got rid of the sty completely! I picked it up for $15 at Ulta. Since I get twice as much product, for half of what I'd pay for a Clinique eye cream, I do think I'll eventually repurchase.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar
LorelaiNoah 5/11/2010 12:52:00 PM
Reading the reviews on Pink Sugar have made me come to one conclusion ~ this scent really differs on person to person based on body chemistry. On me...Pink Sugar is HG status. While others have mentioned it being too "kiddish" for thier liking, I have not had that issue. In fact I was initially dissapointed when this turned out to be a more "grown up" sweet scent. I haven't been able to detect cotton candy, nor licorice, nor a burnt note. Pink Sugar is elegant, warm, sweet, feminine, cozy, foody, floral, clean. It opens up strong, then mellows into something delightful. The lasting power is phenomenal. I can literally still get whiffs of it after 2 days on my jacket or sweaters. I smell Lily of the Valley with vanilla musk & sugar mixed in. But there's something about this fragrance I really can't put my fingers on. It brings so many memories & comforting emotions out of me with each sniff. Walking on the Cape May beach, fresh rain, snuggling under cozy covers back home on the east coast during the winter...there's something simply magical about this perfume. I've gotten a lot of compliments while wearing Pink Sugar. I was on a car ride home the other day when my sister in law started saying "something smells SO good and sweet, like a bakery". She even made another comment about how good it smelled. I ended up giving her the info on Pink Sugar. Haha. Mind you, this is coming from someone whom has never ever complimented me on my fragrance before. Aquolina's Pink Sugar is worth the price, & the cute clear/pink bottle looks adorable on my vanity. I will definitely repurchase & stock up. I am addicted!

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Cococare Shea Butter Super Rich Formula Cream
LorelaiNoah 5/10/2010 5:27:00 PM
Price: 1 Lippie I bought a 16 oz tub from WebVitamins for only $4! Shipping was $5. To me, that is dirt cheap compared to other etailers. Packaging Quality: 4 Lippies There is nothing wrong with the packaging, & thats why it'll recieve 4 lippies. I do not however, care for the boring green label. But its not like I'd be displaying this on my vanity either way ~ so who cares? Not me! Overall Rating: 5 Lippies This exceeded my expectations by a milestone. In the past, I have always HATED shea butter. All the other brands are not moisturizing enough, & smell disgustingly strong of lavender. Not Cococare Shea Butter! This stuff has texture that is to-die-for creamy + moisturizing. Also it has a light, barely there, watered down, some sort of white chocolate scent. MMMMM! Would you buy this product again? Yes! I'm considering stocking up on this instead of repurchasing body butters from Victorias Secret.

Lotions/ Creams -Victoria's Secret - Souffle Cream Coconut Craze
LorelaiNoah 5/9/2010 12:14:00 PM
Overall Rating: 3 Lippies The only reason this product is not getting 5 lippies is due to 2 cons. It doesn't adsorb easily, nor evenly. Later on it balls up, which is disgusting & a sure sign that this souffle is not actually moisturizing my skin. Also - the lasting power (like most VS beauty products..) sucks! I can't smell it 20 minutes after applying. The scent on the other hand..is what earns this product 3 lippies. It is a true coconut smell, with a tiny bit of vanilla in the background. Very sugary & almost smells good enough to eat! Mmmmm... Price: 3 Lippies 3 for $24. I know, these aren't super expensive. But I've seen better deals elsewhere. Packaging Quality: 4 Lippies Super boring, nothing special. It's not ugly though, & I'm delighted VS didn't put this in tube packaging. Would I buy this again?: Maybe. I know there's a lot better similar products out there on the market.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Parlux - Jessica Simpson Fancy
LorelaiNoah 5/8/2010 12:57:00 PM
Overall Rating: 3 Lippies I'm thankful to be able to say that I didn't purchase this unsniffed. Instead I sampled it, & in turn didn't purchase a full size. Its nothing amazing, nor good enough to stand next to my HG fragrances. I absolutely LOVE Aquolina Pink Sugar & had to try Fancy after reading all of the comparisons. However the expectations fell short. To me, Fancy mainly consists of an Apricot fruity scent with a TINY bit of vanilla somewhere in the background. I love sweet foody scents, & this was too "perfumey" for my tastes. Not in an elegant manner either. I might like it better in the fall. Fancy isn't a bad perfume by any means though. Its just... not my style. Price: 5 Lippies For $60 @ Ulta you don't get much product, although I'm seeing a lot of people bought theirs via bargain shops (Marshalls, TJMaxx, ect) for half the price. Packaging Quality: 5 Lippies. It's definitely high up on my favorites, among Vera Wang's Rock Princess packaging. I think the bottle is gorgeous! I actually prefer it over Aquolina Pink Sugar's dull bottle. Super elegant & fit to display on my vanity table. Would you buy this product again? I put "Yes", but meant "Maybe".

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
LorelaiNoah 5/6/2010 7:42:00 PM
If you have really oily, acne prone skin I'd reccomend the gel version. However if you have dry or combo skin - this is definitely the better choice. I know a lot of people are complaining that its too thick, but there's a solution to that con. Add water. Not only will you dilute the thickness a little bit, but you'll get more bang for your buck by making the lotion last longer. I do appreciate the fact that this 'lotion' didn't irritate my very acne prone skin. Which, a lot of moisturizers do. I'd only repurchase if I need a very basic moisturizer. Don't fool yourself into believing this product will permanently change your skin. There are NO ingredients in it that'll lead to long term benefits such as clearer skin or anti aging properties. The moisture is only there until you wash it off.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
LorelaiNoah 5/6/2010 7:36:00 PM
If you're looking for anti aging properties, or a cure for your acne...this product is NOT for you. However with that being said, if all you need is moisture - Clinique is the way to go. I love the fact that this moisturizer didn't break me out, & I'm very acne prone. It kept my skin looking nice & glowy through out the day. The gel is a lot thinner than the lotion. I'd reccomend this only for oily skinned gals & guys. I'll only repurchase if I need a very basic moisturizer. Until then I'm sticking to products that'll give me long term results.

Skincare - Body -Victoria's Secret - garden line- ultra softening body butter- any scents
LorelaiNoah 5/5/2010 12:43:00 AM
Overall Review: The VS body butters smell so much...different than the rest of the Garden Collection. Its a huge improvement to be honest. I find the sprays to smell like straight up alcohol. The body butters on the other hand - have a SLIGHT powder smell in the alcohol's place. The texture is whipped, super moisturizing, & to die for! ;) My favorite is the Love Spell scent...but only in the body butter version. Smells like gummy bears! You can check my profile for that review, along with a review for the Vanilla Lace body butter. Make sure you check the ingredients before purchasing. I LOVE that these body butters don't contain mineral oil, & have Shea Butter as the 3rd ingredient. However a few of them contain isopropyl alcohol, which is very dehydrating. Yikes. I can vouch that Love Spell & Vanilla Lace don't, but Sweet Daydream does. Price: 2 Lippies I bought this in a 6 VS Garden items for $30 deal. This seems to be an year long sale. Haha. So for $5, this was a great deal! Packaging Quality: 5 Lippies I'm not going to lie & say this is the most elegant/luxurious packaging around. However it is cute & looks great in my bathroom! I love the fact it comes in a tub. Would you buy this product again? YES YES YES! I'm actually thinking of going back & stocking up. :)

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Ed Hardy Vanilla Hand Lotion
LorelaiNoah 5/3/2010 5:53:00 PM
Overall Rating: Oh...my...god. This lotion is to DIE for! It smells just like sugar cookies & is very moisturizing. In my opinion is an identical dent of my favorite scent from Bath & Body Works - Vanilla Bean Noel. I'm happy I can purchase this year round though (unlike VBN). :) Price: 1 Lippie I purchased this for $3 from Ross. Such a great steal! Packaging Quality: 5 lippies I'm actually not CRAZY about the label design. Then again I think all of the Ed Hardy collection looks as if a 7 year old designed it with stickers haha. I would prefer this to come in a tub...but the pump sure is a hell of a lot better than a tube packaging. Would you buy this product again? YES!

Lips -Sanrio/Hello Kitty - Flavored Lip Balm
LorelaiNoah 5/3/2010 5:47:00 PM
Overall Review: I bought this in a 7 pack. The formula is very moisturizing & tastes great. It reminds me of Bonne Bell Lipsmackers...which are my all time favorite chapsticks. The flavors in this pack are: Orange Sorbert, Mint Chocolate Chip, Strawberry Ice Cream, Blueberry Muffin, Vanilla Birthday Cake, Whipped Cream, & Cherry Cheesecake. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Delicious. Price: 1 Lippies I bought this for $4 at my local Ross. Packaging Quality: 5 Lippies I'm not going to lie & say this is the most elegant/luxurious packaging around. However despite the kiddish label, it is cute & colorful. Would you buy this product again? Yes!

Lotions/ Creams -Victoria's Secret - Lost In Fantasy
LorelaiNoah 5/3/2010 5:41:00 PM
Overall Review: I bought this for my mother in the "Ultra-Moisturizing Hand & Body Cream" & she loves it. Victoria's Secret advertises this scent as "sparkling fruity, floral mix of sweet passionfruit, wild Brazilian orchid and warm musk". I'd have to say that is 100% spot on accurate. Don't let the "warm musk" note fool you though, Lost in Fantasy is a GREAT summer scent! However it is cute! Lotions/ Creams -Victoria's Secret - Lemon Paradise Body Hydrating Lotion
LorelaiNoah 5/3/2010 5:34:00 PM
Overall Review: Out of the complete VS Gardens Collection.. this scent smells the most like candy. It lacks the complete straight-up alcohol smell that the rest of the scents have (with the exception of the body butters..mmm). Lemon Paradise smells like lemon cake! The lemon note is definitely dominate over the vanilla though. I would have given 5 stars if this was more moisturizing (I'm hoping VS eventually makes this in a body butter version) & if the scent lasted longer. As much as I love this lotion..it has low lasting power. :( I bought 3 today..so maybe I can layer it to last past 20 minutes. Haha. Out of all the VS Gardens Collection labels, this one definitely has a special place in my heart. ;) Would you buy this product again?: Yes.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Lemon Paradise
LorelaiNoah 5/3/2010 5:13:00 PM
Overall Review: I didn't purchase the body spray, I actually purchased the body hydrating lotion. HOWEVER I did test this stuff out. The body spray has a high concentration of perfume than the lotion, so its a bit stronger than the lotion. It doesn't smell very vanilla or creamy. I thought it smelled like sugared lemons. I like it! A great summer scent. It also is a lot more candy-like than the rest of the Garden's collection sprays & doesn't smell like straight up alcohol (unlike Love Spell or Pure Seduction). Price: 2 Lippies This was in the 6 VS Garden items for $30 deal. Which seems to be an year long sale. Haha. So for $5, this is/was a great deal! Packaging Quality: 5 Lippies I'm not going to lie & say this is the most elegant/luxurious packaging around. However it is cute & looks great in my bathroom! Out of all the VS Gardens Collection labels, this one has a special place in my heart. ;) Would you buy this product again?: Yes.

The body butters on the other hand - have a SLIGHT powder smell in the alcohol's place. The texture is whipped, super moisturizing, & to die for! ;) This isn't my favorite scent though. It smells a tad bit like chocolate & almonds to me. More of a grown up "vanilla" scent. That might just be my bad sense of smell though. Nothing offensive or bad, though! I'd probably somewhat like it more in the fall or winter, as opposed to in the summer heat right now. I LOVE that this body butter doesn't contain mineral oil, & has Shea Butter as the 3rd ingredient. (However a few of the VS body butters contain isopropyl alcohol, which is very dehydrating. Yikes. I can vouch that Vanilla Lace DOES NOT though. Hallelulah!) Price: 2 Lippies I bought this in a 6 VS Garden items for $30 deal. This seems to be an year long sale. Haha.
