Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Vinyl Bronze
LizzieLiz 4/9/2010 4:44:00 PM
I agree with most people on here, this is a waste of money. I didn't have really high expectations, as I am not generally a fan of Rimmel lipglosses, but this was poor even by my low standards! There is a lot of sparkle, which I find tacky, and it is basically clear gloss. There is no pigmentation. Although, I'm wearing it right now and one thing I noticed is that I find it feels pretty nice on my lips. It isn't sticky at all. So 2 instead of 1 ha ha

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Hug Me
LizzieLiz 4/9/2010 3:46:00 PM
This colour is beautiful. I have tried it on at least four different people and it looked amazing on all of them (warm and cool skin tones). Even my ginger friend rocked this! What a beautiful colour. I'm wearing it today. As of now, this colour and Viva Glam V are my HG lipsticks. Wear them almost daily.

Eye Shadow -MAC - All That Glitters
LizzieLiz 4/9/2010 3:41:00 PM
I have bought this again and again!! It was the second MAC e/s I ever bought, and it is definitely an HG for me. This is so wearable, especially for summertime looks. Often when I'm rushed I end up just sweeping this all over my lid and that is my entire eye makeup look. I get tons of compliments on this. A good dupe for it if you don't want to spend the money is NYX Ultimatum, although the pigmentation on All That Glitters is worth the higher price.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Eucalyptus
LizzieLiz 4/9/2010 3:38:00 PM
This is a great colour but it IS subtle...I was looking for a wearable grey and this is just not quite what I was going for. I generally buy all my eyeshadows from MAC, but I lately discovered NYX and have been going a little crazy (almost purchased the entire line!! ha ha) I think I need to get a MAC matte grey and call it a day, seems like all I have is shimmery grey/silver shades which I don't wear often for daytime. However, this is almost a satin finish and really lovely on. Very subtle but I also find it incredibly sophisticated. Pair it with Prune and it is a gorgeous combo for blue or brown eyes.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Paradise
LizzieLiz 4/9/2010 3:27:00 PM
I like this lipstick, it is a really pretty mauve shade. The formula is a bit drying, but since it is a little dark for my lips I can just wear a lighter lipgloss over it (such as MAC Prrr) and it looks good. I have warm undertones to my skin and it works for me. I'd say this is a very good dupe for MAC Midimauve.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
LizzieLiz 4/9/2010 3:19:00 PM
I really love this! My cousin had some and while our families were on vacation together I used it all the time! I still prefer my MAC Blacktrack, but this is a great and slightly cheaper alternative. It's too bad I can't find it in any drugstores where I live (Canada).

Lipstick -MAC - Hue
LizzieLiz 4/8/2010 3:06:00 AM
I really like this colour! Looks great on my medium-light lips, but like any lighter-than-my-natural lip colour shade lipstick, it does settle in the fine lines of my lips and so I generally apply a peachy gloss over it or Prrr Lipglass to minimise this effect! Great everyday lipstick or nude to balance out a bold or smokey eye. I love this with green eyeshadow (I did this on St. Patty's day ha ha)

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Milk of Magnesia

So far, so good with this product. I am so sick of having such oily skin that I can never keep makeup on my face for more than a few hours without it oxidizing and slinking off. I don't mind a slightly dewy complexion but I would really rather add my glow where I want it instead of always being self conscious about my makeup separating and breaking up on my face. I have only used this product a few times, and the main reason is that I needed to find a good way of applying it. I heard that the way to apply it was with a cotton ball, which I tried, but to be honest I just could not believe that I could get makeup on after this considering it was totally uneven and left white marks all over my face. No amount of smoothing would help! Anyway, recently I learned to first apply my moisturiser, then use the little cap that the bottle comes with and soak a makeup sponge (wedge) in it, til it is very wet. Then I go over my face multiple times, until I can feel that it is dry. My face still feels like it has it on, just a much more even coverage (I concentrate it on t-zone, especially nose). It hasn't broken me out yet, but I will update. Then I apply my foundation with a 190 brush or a 187 brush. My routine is Makeup remover, Spectro Gel cleanser for Blemish-prone skin and Clindoxyl Gel at night (this is a medicated, prescription acne gel that I use topically preventatively). I also exfoliate several times per week at night. In the morning, Spectro Gel cleanser again and Spectro HydraCare moisturiser and MOM in the morning. Then makeup! And so far, it's ok. Definitely stops the oilies, not completely but by far the best I've tried so far!

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Medium/Dark
LizzieLiz 4/7/2010 10:58:00 PM
I am very impressed with this product. If I buff it into my face, it lasts a lot longer than if I simply apply it with a powder brush. I have oily combination skin and generally it is shiny within a few hours (as in, 3 or 4 to be honest) after washing, regardless of whether I wear makeup or not. However, I feel like this powder really minimises it and should be very transparent as long as you have the right colour match. I will keep re-purchasing this, unless I find something better which I so far have not!

Concealers -Cover Girl - fresh complexion concealer
LizzieLiz 4/7/2010 10:34:00 PM
Ok so I know this isn't the most hygienic packaging, but I actually don't mind it. For laziness's sake, I like the ease of applying this (yes, I swipe it right under my eyes with the wand ha ha). I only use this under the eyes, as I have a better coverage concealer that actually matches my skin tone. I'll admit, there is a serious lack of colour options in this! However, I have always liked the consistency of the Cover Girl concealers and since I have very dry under eyes, even with regular use of moisturiser. I might be using a shade too light, but I prefer a lighter shade under my eyes than my foundation colour, for some reason.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous - Life's a Peach [DISCONTINUED]
LizzieLiz 4/7/2010 10:08:00 PM
Gorgeous colour. Really a true peach lipgloss. My bf saw it and was like, that looks really orange. But once I put it on he agreed that it looks really nice. It would be great paired with PeachyKeen by MAC or Coralista by BeneFit. This, however, is not long-lasting, although the texture is really nice and moisturising. Nice package, it looks nice and feels sturdy. And the price, while not really cheap for a drugstore brand (IMO), is good. For someone used to paying MAC prices, this is a real bargain!

Brows -Revlon - Brow Fantasy
LizzieLiz 4/7/2010 10:03:00 PM
I bought this in Blonde first, but it was too light and didn't show up. I am naturally dark blonde but have my hair dyed dark brown, so I returned it and exchanged it for Brunette. I do really like the packaging. The brow gel is not nearly as dark as the pencil, which is good in my opinion. I will probably use the gel more than the pencil, as it is a little dark for my eyebrows. Overall, this is a great product for the price. I highly recommend it.

Blush -NARS - Deep Throat

I LOVE this colour! Gorgeous. I definitely like it better than Orgasm, which I never thought would happen! Beautiful and so much more pigmented than Orgasm. And less sparkly. I absolutely love this...I think it might be HG for me.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Spectro Jel 609
LizzieLiz 4/7/2010 5:20:00 PM
I use the Blemish-Prone skin type (even though I'm more oily, and not quite blemish-prone..) I love this cleanser, it is so gentle and at the same time I think it effectively cleans skin! It is unfortunate that it doesn't remove makeup, but I don't mind - I just remove it before hand (either using a wipe or a gentle makeup removing cleanser). I don't care about the brand of the makeup remover as I'm just going to use the Spectro Gel to really clean my skin. I do use a washcloth with it for exfoliation (and I just like using one). I feel like this may help prevent my pores from becoming clogged, but that could be in my imagination ha ha. I always come back to this, so it must be good!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Tempting (LUSTRE)
LizzieLiz 4/7/2010 4:41:00 PM
Another wonderful colour from MAC. It is just THE MOST reliable brand when it comes to eyeshadows, I'm such a loyal MAC eye makeup consumer ha ha. This colour is very neutral but it can look quite dramatic built up. The shimmer, to me, is a bit much for daytime. I haven't used it in a while though so I'd have to double check... I would re-purchase although I probably won't have to for a long time since i don't use it that much.
