I just adore this product, both of the colours work very well together. To be honest I was a tad afraid of these particular shades; they are hyped up a lot and NARS products are known for being very pigmented, thus rather difficult to work with on my very fair skin. But, wow, these work beautifully on me.
I can see why people with deeper skin tones might dislike Laguna, it is fairly subtle compared to a lot of bronzers I have used in the past. I have used just a ton of bronzers, from Geurlain to Chanel all the way down to Wet 'n Wild, and have never fell in love with any as much as I love this one. I can actually sweep this all over my face, and build to contour without ever turning remotely orange or looking muddy and unnaturally dark. I don't notice the shimmer in Laguna, to be honest, though I probably wouldn't try and contour heavily with it just in case.
Orgasm just pairs so beautifully with Laguna, it is a blush I love and I don't feel like I am missing anything if I just throw this in my travel bag. It is shimmery, definitely, but it works very well on my skin. I wear a primer and powder underneath it, so perhaps that is why I do not have problems with it fading and looking odd through out the day.
I also use a dense brush to apply both! These products are not particularly powdery, thus take a bit more effort to apply, but on the plus side it isn't just flying everywhere in the pan and wasting product. I am not very light when dusting my brush into the pan either, which helps me get the perfect colour payoff without looking overdone at all. These are hyped, but for once I actually agree with most people - These are wonderful products. :)
Bronzers -Chanel - Bronze Universel De Chanel Sun Illuminator

I quite like just how light and airy this product is. I tried it at a counter and the SA put it alllll over my face, and surpringly it didn't look awful! So of course I bought it, but when I tried it at home it was just too orange for me. It wasn't the trick of the lighting either, it looked great even outside! I was using a brush, and it really looked pretty bad, even when placed in just a small area of my face. I was a bit disheartened, but I loved it when she SA applied it so I didn't give up. I started using my fingers and it really, really made a huge difference. My closest foundation match is 1c1 in ELDW, even in the summertime. I don't apply it alllll over, but under my cheekbones and around the outside of my face, and it's truly a lovely light color & give my skin such a healthy glow. I guess my brushes just pick up and deposit too much color, but with my fingers I am able to blend it seamlessly.
Oh my gosh this mascara is impossible to get off. I use philosophy purity, and it usually takes off everything. This barely budged, I dislike it immensely for that reason alone. It made my lashes look pretty nice, but left them in a sorry state.
I prefer MAC fluidlines to this product. This was the first potted gel liner I tried, and even before I tried the fluidlines I was unimpressed with this. This smudges to my brow bone within hours of application, and also seeps down into my tear duct and just looks pretty gross. It ocassionally flakes as well, though I do not think that is its main issue. The staying power just does not rival that of my liquid liners, but the fluidlines do, they are cheaper and creamier -- All in all, a much better product than this, in my opinion.
I love this balm! The texture is smooth rather than sticky like my other love, jack black. It doesn't make my lips shiny, but it makes them feel über soft and hydrated. I would describe the flavor and scent as a sweet mint, not as powerful as carmex, and is actually quite pleasant. It honestly lasts quite awhile, and I love that it can be layered without building up to a gross milky color (like eos). It is quite pricy and a splurge, so I can't say I'd recommend it for everyone. It isn't a miracle product and I doubt it will cure long term chapped lips, but it definitely soothes them while preventing future dryness. I love it and will repurchase in the future.
I adore this product. My scalp usually gets itchy in the morning after I've shampooed my hair. I used to just tolerate it for the day, until I found this. I do have the occasional dandruff attack in the winter which is usually exacerbated by my scratching, but this puts and end to the itchiness, which means less flakies. I just suffer from a dry scalp as far as I know, nothing serious, so I can't vouche it will do much for those with severe problems. Though, my mother has tons of dandruff, this only serves as a product to relieve her itchiness, and is not a cure for her flakes. Oh, I also love that this doesn't weigh down my hair or really even mess it up in the slightest. :)
I've used this powder for about 5 years, and I've gone through 3 containers before moving on to HE brands. I love my Chanel loose powder, but unfortunately during the winter it became too dark for me, so I decided to give this a try again. I have to honestly say I'm not a big fan of this anymore, while it works well for oil control it just does not compare to finely milled Chanel powder, and does not give my skin a very healthy looking finish. It looks a bit patchy, not as smooth, but it is not terrible, I doubt anyone but me would really notice. It is a great color for me, I have it in a light shade instead of translucent, it doesn't add coverage by any means, but it helps my foundation from oxidizing a bit. The scent doesn't bother me as it dissipates almost immediately after application. You can't beat it for the price, but I will be searching for something else to replace it, but in the meantime it works well enough.
I enjoyed this product thoroughly, but I don't think I would buy it again right away. I am almost finished with the bottle, and I've used it religiously through out the winter. My skin is oily, and this has neither caused excess oil nor has it helped reduce it. It makes my skin feel quite soft, but other than that, nothing. I was hoping that by adding moisture to my skin, my oiliness would go down a bit and make my skin a bit more normal, but this had no effect. I am more interested in trying out serums that improve tone and texture at the moment, so I'm going to take a beak from this and see how different my skin is after not using it for awhile. I just feel like there are so many other serums that have beneficial effects on skin, whereas this is meant only to provide moisture, and for the price I think I might be able to find something cheaper and just as effective. It isn't a bad product, it just didn't leave me wowed even after using up the whole bottle.
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Lineur Intense liquid liner - brush tip
Kittea 1/21/2012 12:41:00 PM
I have been an avid user of felt tip liners for months now, and recently heard someone raving about this particular brush tip liner. I have to say, I prefer this over felt tip liner any day. Felt tip liners tend to soak up product, making the tip rather dry and they often drag and snag the skin on my eyelid. This just glides on like an absolute dream, perfectly smooth and never catches the skin on my eyelid. It is so smooth and intense I can see why some people might dislike it, and I would recommend playing with some felt tip liners before you try anything with a brush tip. My only qualm with this is the finish, of course. It is quite glossy... I do tend to prefer a matte finish, satin finish, or semi-matte finish, anything but glossy!
Absolutely LOVE this concealer. It is total HG for me, and I have honestly tried a ton of concealers -- From high end to drugstore. This is like nothing I have used, and it has lasted an incredibly long time (I bought it like 3 months ago, and I still have not hit pan). The texture might be considered dry to some, but I find it to be absolutely perfect for my under eyes. I do pile on eye cream, whether or not I use this, so I suppose that helps curb the dryness that people often mention about this product. Unlike creamier concealers, this does not settle into my lines. The coverage is amazing, and I NEED coverage, and the texture is almost balm like... I also just realized it has SPF 35, which is a HUGE plus!
While I do like the coverage of this concealer, I do not like the formulation at all. It is just a personal preference, I find even after setting this with a powder (benefit powderflage), it still just settles into my fine lines and makes me look older. I have tried many other concealers that I would prefer over this one, it is just much too creamy for me, and also a bit difficult to blend out with anything but a sponge. Perhaps if it had even higher coverage I would enjoy it more, but I do need to build it up just the tiniest bit too much for it to really diminish the circles under my eyes, which of course = too much product. Just not a formula I prefer~ I my HG is definitely studio finish, but I know a lot of people dislike that concealer as an undereye concealer (I love it!)
I do like the finish of this product, it's much more matte than my Lancôme artliner. But for a liquid liner, I feel that the applicator is too dry, even when new. It tugs on my lid ever so slightly and makes a rigid line rather than a smooth one, which makes it difficult for me to get that crisp perfect line that I love. It does have lasting power that rivals the art liner, but for the aforementioned reason I would not repurchase this.
Lips -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
Kittea 1/8/2012 12:31:00 PM
This shade would have been gorgeous if not for the chunky shimmer. It makes my lips feel a bit gritty, and even after the colour wears off the shimmer remains... It also makes the product in the tube very unappealing to look at, which makes me not want to apply it. I quite enjoy the colours without shimmer, or even just less shimmer than this, though.
This is a fabulous winter foundation, I wouldn't dare use it in the summer on my oily skin though. Any temperature above probably 50 and I would opt for something else, but I do have very oily skin. The coverage is just so incredibly flawless, and makes my skin dull winter skin look so supple and healthy, I adore it. You can easily adjust the coverage, but a little drop provides full coverage for my whole face. I personally use a damp sponge to apply it, and definitely set it with a powder around my t-zone as it would look too shiny even in the winter, I think. It lasts quite a long time despite it not being advertised as a long wearing formula, and it does not feel heavy on my skin since so little has to be used to achieve full coverage. It has not irritated my rather sensitive skin, and while I am not acne prone, the wrong foundation can give me pimples and this has not given me a single one. It only gets 4 stars because none of the shades are a particularly good match for my fair skin, but it's not completely unworkable for me.
I absolutely love this shampoo, it is a lifesaver. Since the weather changed, my scalp has been so flaky! I have never had dandruff before in my life, so I was desperate to get something to help control it. My scalp was also extremely itchy, which of course contributed to snow falling from my head. This shampoo + conditioner completely solved all my problems, I use it every other day, and it is just perfect. Perhaps a little drying, but tbh, I haven't found anything else that works to control my flakes and itchiness as well as this does. I tried switching to another shampoo for moisture, and my scalp went right back to being a mess, but this once again saved the day.
