Eyeliner -Make Up For Ever - Waterproof Eye Pencil in 6L Black Purple
rated 2 of 5
Katras 10/21/2011 1:03:00 AM

So I don't know if I got a faulty one but mine was purple, while I was expecting something verging more towards black but not has harsh...if that makes sense. Anyway, although very pretty, creamy and lasts on the lid I won't be repurchsing as I actually prefer to line the upper waterline and this liner doesn't work on the waterline. Next buy: Pur Minerals Pur Intensity gel liner in Plum Quartz, here's hoping.

Eyes -Make Up For Ever - Aqua Cream- #6 Fresh Pink
rated 5 of 5
Katras 10/10/2011 6:50:00 PM

Wanting something a little lighter than my beloved and discontinued Nars Turkish Red, I settled on MUFE's Aqua Cream (as blush) and so far so good. Although #6 is described by Sephora as "bright pink" I found it to be a cool bubblegum pink that is perfect for my Asian skin. It looks sweet and a touch is all I need to last through the day. I'm not too keen on it lips wise, but on the cheeks, lovely!

Cleansers -Anthony Logistics - Glycolic Facial Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
Katras 9/10/2011 11:12:00 AM

Love this cleanser! I was searching for a creamy cleanser that a) didn't have any silicones and b) could remove my (light) makeup and c) wasn't tested on animals. Found! Not only does it do all those things but it has the added benefits of containing glycolic acid and vitamins, helping to smooth out my skin while nourishing it, my skin doesn't feel dry or tight, just clean and smooth and so far no breakouts. Sure it's made for guys, but honestly, how would skin know that? Will repurchase!

Styling Products -Murray's - Murray's Superior Hair Dressing Pomade
rated 4 of 5
Katras 8/26/2011 11:10:00 PM

When I was younger I remember passing by the barber shop my brother used to get his hair cut, with tins and tins of this stuff pyramided against the wall, something about their orange tin fascinated me - maybe it was the fact that this has been around since the 20s, or maybe because all the fashion magazines recommended this stuff. When I was 14-15(?) I finally bought my own tin. A LITTLE BIT GOES A LONG WAY! I can't stress this enough. For my long hair I take a pea's amount, warm between my hands and smooth and scrunch my hair to bring out my waves. Nothing gives such definition, using so little. I will always have in my hair arsenal.

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Tonic Lotion
rated 3 of 5
Katras 8/26/2011 10:59:00 PM

According to the b&b description it is supposed to be..."A nutrient-rich detangler and styling primer...This product is formulated with a rich mix of vitamins, herbs, and tea tree oil that tames tangles, refreshes your head, feeds your hair, and soothes your scalp," saying that I found it meh. I liked the tingle it provided, the fact that it doesn't weigh my hair down, but I think I'll just to stick with a leave-in conditioner to detangle and moisturize my hair.

Styling Products -Phyto - Phytodefrisant
rated 2 of 5
Katras 7/15/2011 2:56:00 PM

I really wanted to love this; a plant-based defrizzer? No -cones? Who would have thought! Sadly, my coarse, thick Asian hair laughs at this stuff and taunts it with, "Is that all you got, punk!?" No, I find I have to use a rather liberal amount to have any smoothing effect and with that, it tends to flake and feel slightly "crunchy". Nope, not worth the price.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Cassia Obovata
rated 1 of 5
Katras 7/15/2011 2:49:00 PM

Looking for a natural glossing treatment, I stumbled onto the raves of Cassia. So I hopped on over to Amazon bought a package and waited. It arrived and I was super excited, finding recipes I mixed some up using grape-seed oil and warm water and mixed into a smooth frosting- like consistency, applied to my dry hair and finally wrapped in some saran wrap and a warm towel and waited 30 minutes. Not only was it super difficult to apply to my coarse Asian hair but it was difficult to remove as well, something I would have gladly overlooked it it gave any results raved about, i.e. shine, manageability, stronger feeling hair, but my hair looked the same and felt slightly drier. Will not repurchase.

Lips -NYX - Soft Matte Lip Cream in Addis Ababa
rated 5 of 5
Katras 6/18/2011 4:54:00 PM

I'm not much of a bright pink lipstick girl, but this stuff is perfect! It brightens my whole face, usually I need concealer, blush and mascara for this sort of face brightening effect but a swipe of this + a quick brush with the eyelash curler = the perfect errand face. The formula is comfy and lasts quite awhile.

Lip Gloss -NYX - Soft Matte Lip Cream - Amsterdam
rated 5 of 5
Katras 6/18/2011 4:44:00 PM

A new favorite! right up there with Clinique's Angel Red, MACs Ruby Woo and Russian Red. Its a soft matte red, not harsh or fake and the formula is comfortable and I don't find myself worrying if my lipstick is smeared all over my face like the Joker. LOVE!

Blush -NYX - Rouge Cream Blush - Hot Pink
rated 3 of 5
Katras 6/18/2011 4:37:00 PM

Wow, this stuff is bright and lovely. A little goes a very long way and it lasts fairly well, even in a California heat wave. At first I thought it was going to be similar to NARS creme blush, which has a slightly drier formula but NYX is far creamier and so only a tap of product and blending like crazy is the key and because the formula is very moist, its finish is dewy and so oily skinned girls will probably want to finish with maybe a light dusting of powder (bronzer looks really pretty with this blush), while dry skinned girls (like myself) will love the formula. It doesn't feel unnatural or sticky and hasn't broken out my sensitive acne-prone skin. I probably won't buy it again, only because a) you get a lot b) you use very little. *Tip: If you find that it is still too bright for you, even when using just a pinch, mix with a little Aquaphor/ Eucerin skin salve - it sheers it out just a touch, color will still has its lasting power and it won't cause breakouts... and it makes a very pretty lip tint.

Fragrances -Bonne Bell - Skin Musk Cologne Spray
rated 4 of 5
Katras 6/4/2011 4:56:00 PM

Okay, because others have said it better than I ever could, I'll keep it short - it's a lovely scent: sweet but not overly so, musky but not "hippy", powdery but not "old" lady- like. It's warm and very "cuddle" worthy i.e. subtle, my only grip is that it doesn't last a long time even when I layer the spray and the oil. Would I repurchase? Probably not, only because I want something a little warmer and longer lasting (on me). But in general it is definitely a scent to experience.

Powder -Physicians Formula - Healthy Wear SPF 50 Powder Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Katras 5/28/2011 11:58:00 AM

Very nice powder - I'm NC 20/25 and bought Translucent Medium, which I apply with a brush and receive not only sheer flawless color but it's not powdery looking or heavy feeling. I love that it has SPF 50 and it endorsed by Skin Cancer Foundation as a recommended product. I knocked a lippie off because a) it's a little expensive for a d/s item and b) can be hard to find (I found mine at CVS). Please PF don't discontinue this great and needed product. Update: maybe it's the difference in lighting in ID vs. CA, or maybe I've just gotten paler, but I've noticed that throughout the day, it turns a little dark, which leads to that nasty demarkation line along the neck.

Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Healthy Wear Bronzer
rated 4 of 5
Katras 5/26/2011 10:09:00 PM

I really like this bronzer, I bought it in Light (NC-20/25) and this color reminds me of EM's Soft Bronzer. Application is smooth, shimmer free, natural looking and doesn't feel heavy. It might not provided "bronze" for some, but if you are so inclined, mix Light and Medium for a deeper color that won't look fake or scary. My favorite thing about this bronzer is the SPF 50 - love! Will repurchase.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Australian Gold
rated 5 of 5
Katras 5/16/2011 9:05:00 PM

"Would you buy this product again?" Oh, hell yeah! I bought the SPF 15 version with instant bronzer. It smells lovely (think fruity coconut), color is natural, dries super fast and gives a smooth coverage due to the continuous spray and lightly moisturizes. I think my favorite part is the application, just mist and go - easy! Plus, it was under $12 USD at Walgreens; great color, great smell, easy to use, great price and convenient location; what's not to love? HG status!
