This was something to try that I would most likely not repurchase. There are other better lip exfoliators IMO, or I can just exfoliate myself. I do not care for the greasy film this leaves on my lips and the little pieces have to be rubbed off.
Yes, the name "Nude" is a little misleading. But for MY lip color, this almost matches. I LOVE this liner, and it is on it's way to becoming a HG for me. It applies easily, lasts and lasts and lasts, and matches most lip colors. It's also a great color on it's own, with some gloss on top. I like the brush, which can be used to tone down the color or to blend with lipstick or gloss added.
When the MAC trainer told us about Whirl when it was new, he said "Whirl is the new Spice". lol! This is much better for me than spice nice I have a fair, ruddy complexion and naturally pigmented pinkish lips. I tend to wear more pink/rose lip colors, and this liner is a perfect match for those.
This is actually the first mineral foundation/powder I've tried, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I LOVE this one. It applies easily and evenly, good coverage, but looks natural. I often wear tinted moisturizer over this. I had a minor problem of it "caking up" on some areas, but that was probably due to my skin perhaps being dry in those areas. I wear Tender Rose (am a MAC NC15-20). I did not buy the brush that came with this since I have so many others. I use my EL Face and Body brush to apply this. Will definitely repurchase.
Clarins has always had GREAT samples, and I have purchased some products after receiving samples. At the store where I used to work, I was told that they are cutting down on their samples. :( I've received samples of the Super Restorative Day Cream (bought), Super Restorative Night Cream (bought), One-Step Exfoliating Cleanser (buy regularly), the eye serum (rec'd as gratis), self-tanners, fragrance, shower gel, lotions, and other products. In general, Clarins is a GREAT line, and I love many of their products. I regularly use the Peach water cleanser, orange cleanser, and Super Restorative products.
I may try other brow pencils/products from time to time, but I always return to this one. Though my hair is dark brown, I use this in Soft Brown -- perfecto! It is exactly the right size, no need to sharpen, easy application, I love the brush on the end, and the consistency is a little waxy to help keep brows in place.
Powder -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Powder Makeup
KarenCG 5/12/2007 3:17:00 PM
This is a GREAT powder foundation. The only problem I have with it is finding a good color match for me. I'm a MAC NC 15-20, and wear the liquid Double Wear in Ecru and add a little bit of Dusk to that. The Ecru in the powder formula is too light and if I try to go "up" in shades, they are too dark. :( What I worked out is to use the Ecru and then apply bronzer OR a liquid highlighter product such as Clinique Uplighting or Colour Rub (older product). I think I will try the Fresco next time. Just be advised that you may not wear the same color in the powder form that you wear in the liquid form. I do like the finish of this, the coverage, ease of application, and it's "lastability". To the reviewer below who experienced bad customer service: No, no, no, this should NOT be happening. I would report this to EL, if I were you. I worked for EL for years, and this would NEVER happen with me or at my counter. Estee Lauder really does want you to have the right foundation in the right color for you! They really do want you to be happy! The beauty advisors HAVE been trained (unless they are brand-spanking new). They should be using the I-Match systems and trying the products on your face. They should be offering this, and you shouldn't have to ask. I hope you find someone with EL you like and can work with.
For a while, I was all over the Sonia Kashuk brushes. The quality seemed pretty nice and they are so much less expensive than others. I would say "You get what you pay for." in this case. The brushes start out very nice and soft, but do not wear all that well, IMO, especially those used daily such as this blush brush and the powder brush -- eventually the hairs get very coarse and start falling out. Still, that said, I think they are a pretty good bargain if you cannot yet invest in higher end brushes.
It's difficult to describe the color of this -- I think I would call it a goldeny champagne with a bare hint of peach to it. It IS very shimmery, glittery, and a neutral enough color to work with most eyeshadow shades. This one brought my "pigment obsession" out of hiding.
Fragrances -Lolita Lempicka - L de Lolita Lempicka

My new love! I'm not very good at describing fragrances, but I do know what I like. The strongest component in this fragrance, to me, is the vanilla, which is soooooo nice. I tend to like sweet fragrances, usually even more sweet than this one. I will copy Nordstrom's description of this for a better understanding:
"L de Lolita Lempicka is a fantastical fragrance; a passionate combination of everlasting flower, bitter orange, cinnamon, vanilla and precious woods—captured in an elaborately adorned, aquamarine gem of a bottle."
Yes, the bottle is stunning -- just gorgeous!
Liquid -Estee Lauder - Resilience Lift Extreme - Ultra Firming Makeup SPF 15
KarenCG 5/6/2007 11:19:00 PM
This is another HG foundation from me. I love EL foundations including Double Wear, Individualist, Re-Nutriv, and this one. My color is Linen -- it provides medium coverage and I would call the finish somewhat "luminous" -- even more so if you use the Reslience Lift Extreme moisturizer under it. This foundation is NOT for oily skin, but for normal to dry "mature skin". This lasts all day on me, and I often receive compliments when wearing it. I like the pump bottle too, because I know exactly how much to dispense (only 2 pumps). Will definitely repurchase again and again!
Eyeliner -Laura Mercier - Kohl Pencil in Brown Copper
KarenCG 4/21/2007 8:39:00 PM
I have never been a big fan of pencil liners, thought I LOVE the look of them. They simply never worked well or lasted on me. However, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all of the Laura Mercier pencil liners I've tried so far, and this one is at the top! It's a very pretty bronzey-brown that goes on smoothly, easily, and evenly, smudgeable, and it stays on all day with no flaking. I might have to touch up once during the day.
Lotions/ Creams -Estee Lauder - Body Performance Naturally Radiant Moisturizer
KarenCG 4/21/2007 8:31:00 PM
I've been using this product for about a week now, and can say that it has done exactly what it says it will do. This is the first "gradual tanning moisturizer" I've tried, so I cannot compare it to any others. The description reads:
Slip on a radiant, healthy-looking glow as you silken and smooth every inch of your body. This luxurious daily moisturizer enhances the beauty of your skin with a hint of golden color.
Glowing and Gorgeous As soon as you apply it, the softly pearlized formula gives skin an instant glow. Natural-looking color develops gradually and without streaks, reaching maximum intensity after one week. Imperfections seem to vanish and skin looks luminous, feels soft, soothed and hydrated—instantly.
Daily Hydration Formulated with Vitamin E and Aloe Barbadenises Leaf Juice, this luxurious body moisturizer hydrates and conditions skin.
HOW TO USE NATURALLY RADIANT MOISTURIZER For best results, use as your daily body lotion. Smooth onto clean skin. Wash hands after application. It is mistake-proof and quick drying, so you can dress immediately after application.
I am white, white, white, white, butt white-white, and after the first application, it did make my skin more "glowy" with a hint of color. I used it daily for a week, and developed a pretty natural looking bronzey color to my skin. My skin does feel softer and smoother. I've been using this on my legs and arms only so far.
Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Azuree Soleil Skinscent Atomizer
KarenCG 4/21/2007 12:10:00 AM
I got the body oil spray last year and loved the scent then. I was so happy to see this in a fragrance spray. The best description of this scent to me is "beachy" -- light, fresh, and clean. I purchased the small bottle to carry around, but will get a larger bottle and any other products that come out in this scent as well.
Lip Gloss -Estee Lauder - High Gloss -- Peony Glaze
KarenCG 4/7/2007 2:04:00 PM
This is a new color for Spring, 2007 -- PERFECTO! The color I am having difficulty describing..... I would call it a medium pinkish shade, somewhat bright, with a hint of coral? The color goes on lighter than it appears in the tube as do the other High Gloss colors. It has slight shimmer and tons of shine!!! This looks GREAT with the new Lip Shaping Gloss Pencil in Soft Tawny.
