Fragrances -Liz Claiborne - Bora Bora

I loved the beautiful, exotic scent of Bora Bora the first time I smelled a fragrance strip. I loved the pink bottle and "tropical" feminine image of the name. What is threatening to destroy this fragrance for me is the ridiculous theme song in the ads. I know its silly but everytime I see the commercial, which is possibly THE CHEESIEST THING EVER, I would, however, loved to have been the room when they picked the song---what was the marketing team thinking? And what was their 2nd song choice?? Update: 11/22/03-this stuff gives me terrible headaches :-( I cannot even stand to be around someone else wearing it, which is really rare for me.

I love this perfume! It's sexy without being in-your-face-naked-sexy. Very girlish. It has a warm, comforting quality that makes me think of Christmastime and baked goods. Also, I have the large, curvy bottle with a crown cap that is very cute!

A nice floral, sweet scent. I bought it years ago and rescued it from my cabinet recently. It still smells wonderful, much better than many EL fragrances. An overlooked gem from a company that I'm afraid doesn't make many good scents.

Fragrances -Michael Kors - Michael

Yes this is a very strong fragrance-but I always picture someone like Rene Russo's character in The Thomas Crown Affair wearing it(she was dressed by Kors in the film)-sexy but incredibly sophisicated!! But for those of you who think its too strong---I know there was a series of "notes from Micheal" sold individually at Sephora.com, so they might be a better alternative.

Fragrances -Sonia Kashuk - No.2 Tuberose

This is much sweeter and less overpowering than SK's Gardenia (also a good scent). I'd recommend it to anyone who likes sweet florals and the $20-and-under price is a definite plus!

Fragrances -Guerlain - Jicky
rated 5 of 5

Shalimar & Jicky have many notes in common, as Shalimar was first created when Jacques Guerlain accidently poured a new synthetic,"vanillin" into a bottle of Jicky. So if you think Shalimar is too sweet, try Jicky. Jicky is reportedly worn by Brigitte Bardot, also.

Eyeliner -NARS - Liquid in Bullitt

I love the sheer silvery-brown color of bulitt! It is much easier to wear than the usual opaque brown or black. It is tricky to apply--but with practice it becomes easier. I also ordered sephora's less expensive thin liner brush---I think it helps make application easier. I can't wait to order Equus (black-gold) when sephora re-stocks!! (Even if they are ridiculously expensive, I'm hooked.)

Very pretty sheer red lipstick--almost like a stain with a creamy, moisturizing texture.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Jardins De Bagatelle

Very fruity, almost melon-ish floral; very sweet and long-lasting. I like the freshness and femininity of the scent. The bottle isn't as attractive as the usual Guerlain, but its' still a beautiful perfume.

Fragrances -Yves Saint Laurent - Yvresse (Champagne)
rated 4 of 5
HopeB 12/29/2002 9:26:00 PM

A light, pretty and sweet fragrance in a clever, lovely bottle--definitely for those who like delicate, feminine scents; also dry-down is subtle, yet long-lasting. I'm still sniffing the wrist I tested this on hours ago. Via sephora.com: Blend: Fruity. Notes: Nectarine, Anise, Mint, Otto Rose, Blue Rose, Lychee, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Vetiver. Style: A lively, joyful blend of fruity and floral notes that celebrates the modern woman.

EWWWW-I cannot stand this! Maybe it's that I'm a nonsmokeer and sensitive to cigarette smoke in general, because when I tried it ALL I could smell was an ashtray-like stench, clinging to the back of my throat and almost burning it! I wore it for about a half an hour and then scrubbed it off in Sephora(with alcohol) and the scent still clung, so it is long-lasting--but I didn't smell anything but burnt tabacco; I was so disappointed! I had high hopes for this one....too bad

Lipstick -Maybelline - Wet Shine lipstick
rated 3 of 5
HopeB 12/17/2002 1:29:00 AM

These products are nice; however their advertisement IS false. The ads & commercials make the lipsticks appear to be tinted translucent glosses, when they really have less of a 'glassy' appearance than a sparkly one. Wet Shine Diamonds especially has a nubby sparkly texture....however they are good lipsticks if you want sparkle.

Lip Treatments -BeneFit Cosmetics - Lip Plump

Thi is an utterly awful product! I ordered it years ago, tried it once and now $15+ dollars just sits in the bottom of my makeup case, gathering dust. It really does not work.....it IS exactly like concealer...if conceaaler was thick, grayish-colored, and icky. It "flattens" the color of your lipstick with its' undertones-- Don't buy it!! (Benefit should withdraw this product from the market for the damage it does to their reputation)
