Fragrances -Christian Dior - j'adore

I bought this at Walmart last weekend for only $25. Usually I am a fan of Dior fragrances, but I am still unsure whether I like this fragrance or not. It doesn't make a big impression on me--maybe it's a fragrance that's best worn in the fall/winter. I am glad I didn't pay full price for it at a department store! I find this fragrance is a bit too floral for me and staying power is not that great. I'm still not getting rid of this fragrance though in case I actually do find a time and place to wear it. Apparently my bf likes this smell as we were cuddling the other day and he got near my neck he said "You smell good". Update: After having this now for a long time, I have found I tend to reach for this when I am dressing up or if I am feeling more "elegant". It's not a jeans and tshirt type fragrance.

Liquid -The Body Shop - Ultra Smooth Face Base
rated 5 of 5

This foundation is my holy grail to having perfect skin! I use shade 03 and find it matches my skin perfectly. I do agree with some of the other reviews that the shades are pretty tricky--there is not much range or variety but I did find mine with the help of a consultant at TBS. My fave way to use this is with my finger tips or with a damp sponge. My skin looks like velvet after; never cakey or dry either and keeps my skin looking fine until late evening. It evens out my skin perfectly and blends perfectly. I find dotting it on and tapping it into the skin works best. If you rub it in, it won't give you any coverage. The tube is a bit ackward and you have to really squeeze it to get any product out--not looking forward to using it once my tube is almost empty. I wish they had made the tube more flexible. The price was not bad either--moderately priced for a department store quality foundation. I will definetly be purchasing this again when I run out.

Bronzers -Bonne Bell - Gel Bronze-Golden Tan
rated 5 of 5
Fridgie 5/13/2007 6:11:00 PM

I found my old tube of this in my Mom's makeup bag recently and forgot how much I loved it. I went out and bought a new tube for myself. I can honestly say this is the best makeup product that I have spent $5 on! This brightens up my cheeks and makes it look like I got a bit of a tan but a flush at the same time. This is more a stain than anything and it lasts all day on me. I like to put a bit of shimmery highlighter over top of it or I will add a peachy colored blush over top so it doesn't look so matte. I like to start out with a small bit and keep adding more until I get the color I like. I pat this on my cheekbones or I will put some on a makeup sponge and pat it on that way. Be careful not to start out with a large amount of this or it will look like very orange-brown and not natural at all. Start with a small amount and work the color in but don't rub it in because it will disappear. Blend very well so you don't get lines or streaks. Big bonus to this is that it is the only bronzer that does not make me break out. It never looks greasy or sparkly. This is one of the desert island beauty products I could never go without!

Moisturizers -Clinique - Acne Solutions Daytime Shield [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Fridgie 5/3/2007 7:50:00 PM

Ever since using this my face has never been so clear. I loved the way it felt on the back of my hand and decided to give it a try. I was amazed by the results as I have never had that great of an experience with other Clinique skincare products. I bought it a month ago and forgot to bring it with me during a weekend away. When I didn't use it my face broke out a bit and didn't look as poreless, smooth and soft. I use this in the morning only. I put it on first, rub it in very well and then put a little bit of my Neutrogena for Sensitive skin moisturizer over top. I find this product does not moisturize very well during cooler weather, but it has cleared up my pimples considerably and my pores look smaller. My makeup goes along a lot better and has a better finish to it. I am excited to see how it works during the hot humid weather. I will definetly repurchase this again when my tube runs out!

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Cream Oil Shower
rated 2 of 5
Fridgie 3/23/2007 6:00:00 PM

Definetly not impressed with this product. I find it's way too oily and it actually irritated my sensitive elbows and broke me out in little bumps on my arms;not sure if it's the scent or not. I used this before shaving and it actually clogged razor with an oily film. I will not be purchasing this again; buy Softsoap Cashmere shower gel or just Olay soap it does 2x a better job than this.

Fragrances -Chanel - Chance Eau Fraiche
rated 4 of 5
Fridgie 3/23/2007 5:34:00 PM

I already own Chanel Chance so I was attracted to this smell when I saw this beautiful light green liquid in the same bottle that Chance comes in. Chance is a lot more elegant I find than the Eau Fraiche. This scent is perfect for spring/summer. When I first sprayed it on I noticed it smelled similar to D&G Light Blue, but then a smell similar to Chance but a lot more lighter and fresh started to emerge. I smell more lemon in this and not as much floral as Chance. I appreciate this smell more than Chance because I think this is more appropriate for day wear; Chance is more for evening wear. This scent is somewhat more younger smelling but not so much so that 13 year olds will be wearing it. It is more understated but doesn't smell cheap or like all the other perfumes out there. Fresh, yet elegant enough without coming off snobby is how I would describe this smell. The staying power is average; I can barely smell a trace of this on me after 8 hours, but it did last most of this morning on me. So far I will give this a 4 because it's not my favorite fragrance I own but it's definetly a new scent I will be wearing for spring/summer.

Fragrances -Yves Rocher - Mangue Eau de Toilette
rated 5 of 5
Fridgie 2/28/2007 7:31:00 PM

I love love love this perfume! If you want a fruity, fun, summer smelling perfume you gotta pick this up! I paid only $10.50 for the big bottle and find this is great as an everyday perfume to wear in the day to work, going out with friends etc It's a very sweet smell and when it dries down the scent really stands out! Not one for people who like musky, oriental smelling perfumes (hint: Mangue is French for "Mango"). This is the 4th perfume I own from YR in the Plaisirs de Nature line. Staying power is amazing: I put it on before I go to work and half way through the day I get whiffs of this around me. The first time I put it on my Mom asked what smelled so good ;) Will definetly repurchase or buy the shower gel or body lotion when they come out with it.

Fragrances -Coty - Princess
rated 3 of 5
Fridgie 2/28/2007 7:24:00 PM

I have had this perfume for 3 months now and I am not sure if I like it or not. It doesn't make a big impression on me but I don't hate it either. It's a very basic musky perfume with a lot of vanilla undertones. There are days I love to wear this perfume (mostly when going out in the evening) but it's not one I grab as a day-to-day perfume. The price of this perfume (almost $80) was way too much and is definetly not worth it considering this perfume is not a "stand out" perfume. Hopefully this perfume grows on me with time.. Update: I wore the perfume again this weekend and realized it is very strong and long lasting. Normally I am not bothered by perfume but when I got a whiff of this on me I smelled a really cheap vanilla floral smell. I guess I don't like this perfume after all.

Shampoo -Yves Rocher - Phytum Hair Care Nutrition - Replenishing Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
Fridgie 2/28/2007 7:19:00 PM

Quite surprised at how well this works! I actually prefer it over the shampoos I've bought at the salon and my standard Pantene for Curls line I use. My hair was so soft, smelled amazing, but it wasn't weighed down. My hair is fine and wavy with curls and this moisturized the curls enough so keep their shape. My hair was not too soft and not too dry. Loved it! I paid $5 for this during the buy one get one free sale.

Fragrances -The Body Shop - Neroli Jasmine EdT
rated 5 of 5
Fridgie 1/20/2007 12:37:00 PM

Very impressed! First, this wasn't that expensive ($17) for 30ml but smells like a $80 fragrance..sort of reminds me of Jean Paul Gaultier perfume. It has a lot of sex appeal to it and is very exotic;definetly a floriental. I prefer this over my Cassis Rose and the lasting power is great too! It doesn't smell like something that everyone is going to be wearing and it's definetly a fragrance that a lady wears, not a smell that teens would wear. It's very mysterious as well. I purchased Vera Wang Princess last weekend and I prefer this one over Princess. I love the look of the bottle as well. It's orange and the perfume is orange as well http://www.thebodyshop.com/bodyshop/browse/product_detail.jsp?productId=prod5290029&categoryId=productRelatedItems I own a lot of perfumes but this is my favorite one at the moment and for a long time to come.

Gels/Soaps -The Body Shop - Coconut Bath and Shower Cream
rated 5 of 5
Fridgie 1/17/2007 7:36:00 PM

This is one of my fave shower gels in the world and one of my favorite from TBS! The smell is delicious, it bubbles amazingly, and does not rob your skin of moisture. I have used mine since September and my skin is not dry at all. As one reviewer wrote it can smell artificial but nevertheless it smells almost exactly the same as the matching body butter and the smell is not overwhelming. When I use this it always reminds me of the summer and is the only shower gel I use on a regular basis lately. The price is a bit much..$16 if I'm correct. I have had mine since September and I still have a bit less than half a bottle left. The only minus is that TBS shower gels with the squirt cap are really hard to maneuver and I end up squeazing the bottle to death to get a few squirts out.

Lotions/ Creams -Olay - Quench Body Lotion Extra Dry Skin
rated 5 of 5
Fridgie 1/14/2007 2:33:00 PM

I got this as a stocking stuffer and can honestly say aside from TBS body butters, this is my fave moisturizer now. I have used a lot of drugstore body lotions (Lubriderm, Vaseline, Nivea,Dove, Swiss Formula)but nothing can compare to this! I love how silky and soft this leaves your skin without any greasy, oily feeling. It soaks right into your skin as soon as you massage it in. It leaves the skin with a slight sparkle/sheen, but nothing too noticeable. The smell is a tad strong for about 15 mins after but it would be described as a bit of a vanilla musk. I love using this right after I use the Olay soap for dry skin. I will definetly purchase this one again no matter what season. We have a winner!

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Hi-Shine Lip Treatment in Red Gleam
rated 3 of 5
Fridgie 1/6/2007 6:58:00 PM

I got a mini of this in a gift with purchase and thank god I did because I wouldn't have spent money on it. This is a standard lip gloss and I find it's very sheer. I carry it in my purse for in the middle of the day when I need some sheer color/shine. I am not crazy about the color at all and find it's quite blah even though there is a bit of sparkles in it. If you want one with more impact and color, pick up the Plum Pudding or Bronze Beam shade.

Fragrances -Celine - Always Belong
rated 5 of 5
Fridgie 12/29/2006 5:36:00 PM

This was a gamble purchasing this product as I have her Belong perfume as well but hate the dry down. I just bought this on a whim because it was on sale as a set with the body lotion for 50% off. Once I sprayed some on the next day I absolutely fell in love with this! This is such a feminine fragrance that is not overpowering at all, it lasts longer than the Belong and has a nice dry down. It's one of those fragrances that doesn't stay in the room where you've been after you're long gone. Someone would have to get quite close to smell the intensity. The bottle is the same as the Belong fragrance except the liquid is a light mauve. The box it comes in is quite juvenile, but the bottle is very elegant, and classy. I am quite impressed with this fragrance especially since it's coming from a celeb like Celine Dion. I

Primer/ Corrector -The Body Shop - Matt It Face & Lips
rated 3 of 5
Fridgie 12/24/2006 2:06:00 PM

This is an average product with average results. It tends to keep my t-zone shine free for a while, which is less than 1 hour. I found it made me get more blackheads on my nose and a broke out . Plus it has this strange baby oil feel at first then it dries and matte's. For the price I paid I definetly will not be buying this again. I will give this a try again in the summer when my face is more oily...for fall/winter it's not that great.
