Mascara -Unlisted Brand - Ready To Wear - Lash Extensions
Demetria 7/30/2008 8:47:00 AM
This product is a million times better than the white type primer that a lot of companies sell. It REALLY works! My lashes are long, but could be a little thicker, so that is what I use it for. I apply my waterproof mascara to one eye (you don't have to use waterproof), then I apply the lash extensions. I really work it in all through my lashes, then apply another coat of my mascara. Then I do the other eye. I've never done a 2nd layer, but just the one makes a huge difference. My tip for using this is to hold your breath for a second while you are applying it so you don't blow little hairs all over the place. :-) Its a little messy, I guess, but its easy to clean up whether on your face or on your counter top. Its a dry product, so its not sticky. Whatever, its totally worth it. Once its on with a coat of mascara over it, it doesn't fall on your face all day. I got it from HSN.com. This was developed by a guy (can't remember his name) that used to be a big wig for MAC. I also have his finishing powder and LOVE that too.
Makeup Brushes -Flirt - Feather Dust-her (aka Skunk Brush)
Demetria 7/29/2008 9:26:00 AM
This brush looks like a dupe of the MAC 188, because its smaller than the 187. I have the 188 and I can tell you that it does not compare at all. The bristles on the Flirt brush are not very dense at all and it does not do a good job at stippling and/or blending. On the side of the brush, it says it is for powder. You can basically do a very, very light dusting of powder with this brush, but honestly, a regular fluffy powder brush is much better. Basically this brush is WAY flimsy compared to the 188. There are some good dupes of the 187/188 out there, but this is not one of them. It only has the "look". I would not recommend.
Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Synthetic Flat Top Multipurpose Brush

I love this brush. I use it for my liquid foundation. It blends flawlessly and gets around my nose and under my eyes easily. No hair shedding at all that I can recall. I have several other SK brushes and I really like them a lot. If I ever see the skunk brush, I will snatch that up right away!
LOL! I really hate this eyeliner. I have it in coffee. The packaging and little brush tip are good, but the formula is awful IMO. It does not go on smoothly, dries too fast, peels and flakes if you try to smudge it and if you touch your eyelashes while applying this, your eyelashes get all crunchy and you have to pull it out. I know its only $1, but why even waste a dollar on something like this. There are other cheapies that are much better.
Oh My Gosh! (i don't say gosh in real life) These are pretty! I am telling you...They look JUST like the MAC Dazzleglass glosses on the lips! I purchased two colors, Treasure and Emellished. Both are lovely. Here are the differences between the Lipnotic Gem Gloss and the MAC Dazzleglass: 1)The Dazzleglass is stickier. Now I, personally, couldn't care less about stickiness, but many people do, so if you hate the stickiness of MAC, but like the look, definitely try these. 2) Less color range than MAC, but there's enough to find something you like. 3) Doesn't taste/smell as good as MAC. I don't care about that either, but some people do. Its not a terrible taste or smell and it goes away pretty quick. 4)WAY cheaper than MAC. It has a nice brush applicator, like the MAC Dazzleglass and it seems to last as long, but I am pretty good at not smacking my lips together a lot. Anyway, I swear, it is just as sparkly/shiny and looks just as beautiful on the lips! Try it.
Well, I just love it. I bought the creamy beige and it was the perfect match (I have never used a MAC foundation so I have no idea what my number would be). I have a very oily T-zone and since some reviews said this product was not so great for oily skin, I made sure I went light on the moisturizer. I don't really use primer. I put it on with a stippling brush, buff it in well and it looks fantastic. Very smooth and even and it stays that way as the day goes on. I set the T-zone area with whatever powder I grab in the morning and no oily breakthrough at all. Even after a sweaty afternoon workout, it looked pretty darn good after I blotted the sweat away. I also feel the need to rave about the lipgloss from this line. I got Pretty Pink and love it! The concealer is pretty good too. Next on my list is to try one of the cream blushes. I purchased these products at my local Ulta.
Lip Gloss -Physicians Formula - Plump Potion Clear
Demetria 6/10/2008 2:36:00 PM
I was spending $32 to $38 on darn Lip Fusion. I decided to try this and OMG! I swear it works better. I got it in the clear because I basically just put this on before any of my many, many lipsticks and glosses. Some people reviewing the other colors complained about the scent. I guess it smells chemically at first, but it doesn't bother me at all. It goes away soon enough and I usually put some other lip product that is scented or flavored over it anyway. Maybe I'm just not that sensitive to smells or something. Anyway, you feel this working and a minute later you look at you lips and they are smooth as glass and shiny. Oh, I also love the packaging. Its kinda big, but its just cool looking. I haven't seen anything else out there that looks like it. It has a brush applicator, too, which is nice. No more Lip Fusion for me. This is much better and much less expensive.
I have it in Pretty Pink. OMG! It is such a gorgeous color and it makes your lips look great because it gives a smooth, shiny look. The packaging is great. Its has a great brush that doesn't splay out all over the place. I have over 100 glosses and this just might be my new favorite.
Meh. It's still not even close to L'oreal Voluminous, which works great on me. The wand/brush is weird. Its really big, but not fluffy like Dior Show. The bristles are these little stubby rubber spikes. Also, the end is not pointy. Its like the tip was cut off and it makes it really hard to get the inner corner lashes or the bottom lashes. I'm not impressed with its ability to deliver any volume to your lashes either. Its about average in that respect. If you are a L'oreal Voluminous girl, don't bother with this.
Well, its definitely Waterproof, so I guess it should get a lippy for that. Other than that, it sucks. Like a few others mentioned, it is like black glue and once you put on a second layer, it all clumps. It is difficult to get off and I really think I have lost a lot of my lashes because of this. I haven't found anything better than good old Voluminous Waterproof, which continues to be my HG and is only one step.
Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15 - Goddess
Demetria 5/19/2008 9:55:00 AM
Wow. I really like this. Its a pretty pinky-gold on me. Its very shiny, lasts pretty long on my lips, tastes good, has SPF 15, comes in a nice package with a slant applicator rather than the annoying round one, and its CHEAP. What's not to like.
Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Natural Butter Lip Shine
Demetria 5/16/2008 9:39:00 AM
I was expecting all 5 lippies for this one. I think its fabulous. 1) The texture is amazing, like reallly high end and very shiny. 2) feels so good on the lips, really moisturizing. 3)nice scent, I don't find it strong. I like the scent a lot. 4)nice ingredients 5)really cute packaging 6)great bush applicator. I have it in Pulp. It looks like a berry-rose color, but on my lips its basically clear with a hint of this color. I want more of them, now. Seriously, this is the best drug store lipgloss I have ever tried...and I've tried tons. You have to try this! :-)
I love the color and the packaging is alright. I tend to squeeze too much out most of the time, though. I guess I'm a sticky gloss girl. This gloss is so non-sticky, it feels like I'm spreading water on my lips. It looks fabulous for a few minutes, but soon the high shine fades away. There is also no flavor. So if you don't like sticky, scented, or flavored lip gloss, you should try this. I like a little flavor or scent. I will use this up, but won't purchase it again. Its not horrible, just not what I like in my lipgloss.
Lotions/ Creams -Lavanila - The Healthy Body Butter - Pure Vanilla
Demetria 3/12/2008 11:13:00 AM
This is a great, non-greasy body butter. It moisturizes well and smells fantastic. Mine smells just like the perfume. I wonder if the people who thought it smelled completely different got a bad batch.
How could anyone NOT like this? It boggles my mind. It is the most beautiful scent. I can't stop sniffing my wrist. It's also wonderful to spray on just before bed. It just puts you in a warm, cozy place. The bottle is simple and nothing special, but the box is beautiful, so it would make a pretty gift. I also love the Vanilla Grapefruit and still want to try the Vanilla Blossom and Vanilla Coconut. I have a feeling I will completely lose my mind over the Vanilla Coconut. I will let you all know, of course.
