Blush -NYX - Spice
CheckyDoll 9/5/2007 12:32:00 PM
I picked up this blush from a small, no name little under wear shop in the mall that had a HUGE NYX display....I was so excited! I wanted a very neutral, almost nothing color blush to wear on days that I have a dramtic eye or lips & don't want too much color on my cheeks. This is a great color for that but watch out cuz these babies are so pigmented! The texture is so soft & silky! And the color payoff is fabulous....I must get more of these! And I think it was all of $3.99! :)

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Line Intensifique - Carbon Black
CheckyDoll 9/5/2007 12:27:00 PM
Gorgeous liner! I have used the "regular" Line Intensifique (formerly Linuer Intense) in Black Mica for years. I often stray and try new things but always, always end up coming back to this. The Carbon Black is a dark, true black and the color is amazing for a dramatic eye. Of course this is still a breeze to use and lasts all day long! *EDIT* I checked mine & it is in fact "Linuer Intense" not "Line Intensifique". Please ignore the above....and it's also wrong here in the search obviously.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Sweet Talk Mouth-Watering Lip Gloss - Cherry Vanilla
CheckyDoll 9/5/2007 12:01:00 PM
I love this gloss...I'm surpirsed more poeple don't! I got it as a gift & not having owned any other VS makeup I was not expecting much. But this is a beautiful honey hued gloss that makes my lips shiney & nude but not pale nude. It is thick & a bit goopy but I prefer that so it stays on longer. The smell is also very yummy!

Eye Shadow -Jane - Eye Zing in Surfer Girl
CheckyDoll 9/5/2007 11:48:00 AM
This is a bright, light blue w/ very slight sparkle. Like most Jane e/s it's super soft and blends easily and super pigmented. The color itself just doesn't look all that great w/ my pale skin, red hair & green eyes. If you love blues & can pull off bright colors then this color is for you!

Eye Primer -L'Oreal - De-crease Eyeshadow base
CheckyDoll 9/4/2007 12:01:00 PM
I find this to be one of the best primers I"ve ever tried! For years I've had to use a concealer (MAC Select in the pot) since my lids are so pink & need coverage followed by a primer to help e/s last. I always wished I could find a product to do both of these to save time but all the primers I've tried are too sheer to even out my lids at all. But this does it! It's fleshed colored & blends right in but still covers my pinkish discoloration and creates a perefect canvas for my eye looks. Oh & yes, it makes my e/s wear like iron!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Retrospeck (Lustre)
CheckyDoll 8/31/2007 3:49:00 PM
This is a very nice goldish beige shade that is very shimmery, almost glittery but not really....if that makes sense. hahaha I mainly use this as a brow highlighter w/ gold eye looks. The only down side w/ this shade is the texture...it's a little gritty and not as smooth as most of my other MAC e/s.

Pressed Powders -Revlon - Colorstay Pressed Powder with SoftFlex
CheckyDoll 8/31/2007 3:42:00 PM
This is a very nice pressed powder. I alternate between this and MAC Blot to set my foundation. I like this one a little better because it offers a tad more coverage then most other pressed powders & controls oil well...and lasts! It's great to touch up when I'm out at night since it does offer a bit more coverage.

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
CheckyDoll 8/31/2007 3:37:00 PM
Yep, this stuff is great! I carry this around w/ me for touch ups and I'm loving it. It controls shine & covers just a tad. At first I hated the packaging (it's a weird swivel type deal and opens up 3 ways) but now I really like the whole cencept. The puff it comes with is a joke & went right into the trash...I just use a travel brush and it works well. EDIT: 10/4/07-this ended up making me look really cakey by the days end, esp. around the nose. Went back to MAC Blot & I would not re-purchase this one.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Liquid Eyeliner-Azure
CheckyDoll 8/31/2007 3:32:00 PM
I hate to be the one that brings down the perfect rating on this but I think it pretty much sucks. The color itself is gorgeous but it goes on so watery & thin & uneven. I have to go over it like 2-3 times to get it to look even & opaque...in fact I have to let it dry & then go over it again. The felt tip that comes w/ it is horrible & too hard to use so I use my own fine e/l brush w/ it, still watery but easier to work with. Sucks cuz all the colors I have (bought 3) are so pretty & I like to use them when I want diff. colored liner than black but they are just so hard to work with. :(

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HiP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner
CheckyDoll 8/31/2007 3:22:00 PM
This is a fabulous liner & a must for anyone that loves gel/cream liners or just the look of liquid liners in general. Dare I say I love this even more then my MAC Fluidline? Yes, I dare say that. This one does NOT smudge by the end of the day on my inner corners like the f/l does. This is also the BEST I've found for lining my inner rims...looks a *tad* harsh at first but def. lasts longer there than anything else I have ever used. Great stuff! EDIT: To take off one lippie. I've since changed my mind about the MAC Fluidline comparison. This ended up drying up way faster than the Fluidlines and does not apply as well to the lids, meaning it's not as smooth and even flakes a bit. I still stand by what I say about these being the best for lining the inner rim though, they last all day for that!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Blue Brown
CheckyDoll 8/30/2007 7:24:00 PM

Definitely not an easy color to pull of but when it's done right it looks so gorgeous! I'm still practicing with it myself...it looks pretty darn red on my lids. I must try this "patting" technique or over a black base. Overall I just love how it looks. EDIT: I have now tried it over a black base (once w/ Blacktrack Fluidline & once w/ Carbon e/s) and it's SO much prettier! Really cancels out the redness and brings out the gorgeous blue/green shine! Now I just need a better base; both the fluidline & Carbon didn't blend too well over my lids....think I'll try the black Paint Pot. ;)

Eye Primer -Lumene - Beauty Base Eye Makeup Base
CheckyDoll 8/30/2007 7:17:00 PM
This primer works pretty well. I was using MAC Stilife paint for years as a base but I finally realized that it was changing the colors of my e/s and even started creasing on me! The nerve! :P When I first tried this I thought it was terrible...but it's because I was using too much. I now use the tiniest dab & spread on my lids & it blends right in. Really helps the colors look vibrant & no creasing or fading! I would probably re-purchase if I didn't find anything else better before I needed more.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Duo - Breath of Plum & Ring O Roses
CheckyDoll 8/30/2007 7:13:00 PM
This is a decent duo of colors but I don't reach for it often. I find it impossible to use one color or the other seperately so I always just have to mix them & it's just *okay*. These were LE from like 2004 but I most likely wouldn't re-purchase a duo anyway.

Primer/ Corrector -Clinique - Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector
CheckyDoll 8/30/2007 7:06:00 PM
This is an okay product. Helps mattify my skin a little & makes my foundation look a *little* better during the day but it really does nothing for the look of my pores. Best I've tried but I'm still in search of a great primer to help w/ oiliness & the look of my gigantor pores.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss- Cherries in the Glow [DISCONTINUED]
CheckyDoll 8/29/2007 5:33:00 PM
This is a nice sheer, very wearable red lipgloss. For some reason it always makes me think of Snow White. It's great for when you want to feel glamorous with red lips but don't have the time to spend on achieving that perfect lip w/ liner & all that stuff. Just slick this on & you're good to go. ;)
