Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - 365 Everyday - Normal/Oily Shampoo Fragrance Free
BoxOfRocks 11/20/2008 1:40:00 AM
Argh, I really wanted to like this product! I have sensitive skin and have to rotate a variety of fragrance-free shampoos so that my scalp doesn't get irritated by too much exposure to one formula. This product cleansed my hair and scalp nicely and left my hair manageable with no irritation. Unfortunately, it also made my hair fall out alarmingly. There was MUCH more hair than normal in the shower drain, on the pillow, and on my clothes when I used this. When I stopped, so did the hair loss. The hair loss cancels out any good points. I will not be buying again.
Lotions/ Creams -Bliss Labs - Magnolia Moisture Mousse

I received a full-size sample of this product from Bliss. It works fine. It's a nice medium to heavy moisturizer, although I don't think it's enough for my skin in winter. i've had better results with drugstore products. The floral smell is overpowering. My husband has difficulty tolerating it if it's applied to more than just my hands or feet and the first time I used it on my legs, he politely asked me to rinse it off. I agree that it's distracting. I'll use up the rest of the container but won't buy it.
Mascara -Cover Girl - Triple Mascara [DISCONTINUED]
BoxOfRocks 10/25/2008 9:54:00 PM
I had the same results with this product as I did with its cousin, Cover Girl Professional. This did nothing to my lashes and there was no change in appearance between usin this and not wearing mascara at all. It didn't smudge or flake.
This product costs less than a number other La Mer moisturizing and treatment products, but that's like saying the moon looks really close tonight. I'm afraid I experienced no miracles with this product--in fact, its performance is downright mediocre to poor. Like previous posters, this seemed to sit on my skin instead of being absorbed. It also clogged pores. The heavy, flowery fragrance was so heavy it was actually distracting to me.
Mascara -Cover Girl - Cover Girl Professional Mascara (washable)

This did absolutely nothing for my lashes. Did not make them longer, thicker, darker, or more defined. It didn't smudge or flake either, but that's because no product appeared to be applied when I used this mascara! That's damning with faint praise. Truly, my eyes looked exactly the same as if I had done nothing.
It's nice and gentle, and the price can't be beat, but I need a little more power in my exfoliation--scrubs with stiffer grains. Packaging wise, it's a little tricky not getting the cardboard box wet. The alternative is to pour it onto a surface and then mix with water, but then you have to clean it up. I'm afraid I'm going to have to save the Arm & Hammer for baking and cleaning out my kitchen sink.
Cleansers -Olay - Sensitive Skin Foaming Face Wash
BoxOfRocks 10/22/2008 4:05:00 AM
Great drugstore cleanser. Doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. Removes eye makeup with a bit of extra diligence (not too much tugging is required, but be sure to keep your eyes closed till fully rinsed). There is a sort of film if not rinsed thoroughly. Despite the name, it doesn't seem to lather that much. I'll definitely continue to purchase.
Gels/Soaps -Dove - Sensitive Skin Unscented Beauty Bar
BoxOfRocks 10/22/2008 4:00:00 AM
I have used this soap for years. It's one of the few mass market fragrance-free soaps that doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. If this product ever goes off the market, I am up a creek without a paddle. I actually stockpile this stuff. I agree with the previous posters that one has to be pretty vigilant about making sure the bar stays relatively dry or it turns to mush fairly quickly.
I have to rotate between several different shampoos to avoid irritating my sensitive scalp with prolonged exposure to one single shampoo. This is in the rotation although it's not outstanding. It cleanses my normal (as in oiliness) scalp adequately although someone with an oilier hair will likely find it insufficient. I'll continue to purchase it because of the required rotation I have to do. I wish it came in larger bottles, though--I can only find 8-oz. ones, and I find I have to use quite a bit of shampoo to cover the entire scalp.
Shampoo -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Fragrance-Free Daily Shampoo

I have sensitive skin and must actually rotate between several different shampoos so as not to get an irritated scalp from prolonged exposure to one single formulation. I'm thrilled to add this one to the line up. Cleanses well, no irritation, and leaves hair manageable.
Adds light conditioning to my hair, reduces static, and makes it shiny and manageable. It won't add moisture to really dry ends, but is a good everyday product. Comes in a larger size for sitting on the bathroom shelf as well as a TSA-compliant 1.7-oz. tube.
Polishes -Sally Hansen - Salon Nail Lacquer in You-Gurt Style
BoxOfRocks 10/22/2008 3:33:00 AM
Very nice pale pink and suited to my medium skin tone. I use two coats on my fingers (I wore this color on my wedding day) and four on the toes for a more opaque look. I typically have trouble with streakiness on multiple coats of pale polish; while that did occur wth this product, it was to a much lesser extent than others. Agree with the poster below that the rubberized handle is a nice touch.
Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Dries Instantly Base Coat
BoxOfRocks 10/22/2008 3:30:00 AM
Isn't the product called "Dries Instantly Top Coat?" I haven't noticed a base coat with this name. Anyway, I concur with the reviewer below that this is a great product! Definitely speeds up the manicure or pedicure--no more smudges.
Very nice floral fragrance. To me, it conjures the "strong, capable, but feminine business woman" aura. A daytime fragrance for me.
A fine basic lip balm. I prefer unflavored balms, so I'm not a fan of the mint taste. I disliked the "cooling" effect even more. I'd just rather have a neutral lip balm.
