Blush -Milani - Mosaic Blush in Sweet Cheeks
Blinkers345 3/10/2006 11:36:00 AM
I saw a picture of this on MUA and I knew that I just had to have it. It's a pretty pink mosaic blush, one of my favorite kinds. One of the new mosaics Milani has added to their permanent collection (theres some bronze ones, and a plum one I recall). However, the texture of this leaves a bit to be desired, it's not as soft as the other Milani blushes I have. I have to run my blush brush over this quite a few times to get some pigment. It also doesnt show up too well on my MMM MAC NC40 skin, it just kind of gives me a little bit of a pale pink flush. I'm hoping that I just got a dud, and the other ones are a bit better quality. Or maybe it's just made better for girls with lighter skin.
There are 4 different colors in Sweet Cheeks. The lightest color is a cool, pale baby pink. There is also a bright, clean coral-ey hot pink. Then there's a medium plummy pink, and finally, a darkish rosey-red color in the middle. The darkest one (the middle color) has the most pigment. There is very little shimmer in the pans of these...and it doesnt really transfer to the skin.
EDIT: I figured out what I was doing wrong..applying this to bare skin. I'm very oily, and it just slid right off. When I applied it on top of powder, it was much better, pigment and staying power wise.

Bronzers -Caboodles - Hawaii Bronzing powder-Pressed
Blinkers345 3/10/2006 11:27:00 AM
I've had Tahiti forever, and I'd always wanted to try Hawaii. I saw it on clearance at Target for $2.50 and snatched it right up. It's normally about 6.99, and that's a decent price too, considering the quality and size of these bronzers. I was so excited, I loove getting m/u on clearance. It's even better when it works for you like this one did for me :)
Hawaii is a couple shades darker than Tahiti, but not that much IMO. While Tahiti has a golden tone to it, Hawaii has a little bit of a rosey-tint, kind of like NARS Lovejoy. It's a medium bronze with clay-rose colored undertones and some gold shimmer, just like Sadie MC's picture below! It's super pigmented, so I have to apply with a skunk brush, but the desired effect is just lovely, a golden glow on my cheeks :) I would buy this again if I ever used it up.

Bronzers -Wet 'n' Wild - Acapulco Glow
Blinkers345 3/10/2006 11:22:00 AM
WnW is really beginning to step up their game. Their products are improving steadily, and this thing is no exception! I heard all the raves around here about this, but I really couldnt find it anywhere around here, so a lovely girl offered to CP it for me.
Acapulco Glow is a very, very light peach with some shimmer. It's much less obvious than the All Over Shimmer. The texture is incredibly soft. It's not much of a bronzer IMO, unless you're some kind of pale...its more of a highlighter. I'm an MMM and this gives me a nice, healthy looking glow. The shimmer is pretty subtle on my face and I like that. For just over $2, I'll definately get this again if I ever use it all up.

Bronzers -Caboodles - Tahiti Bronzing Powder-Pressed
Blinkers345 3/10/2006 11:19:00 AM
I've had a love hate relationship with bronzers all my life. I'm a MMM, MAC NC40, so I'm already fairly dark. I only like lighter bronzers, because I like to look sunkissed, not sunburned lol. This was my first bronzer, and still one of my favorites. I pull it out all the time. It's kind of tricky to find, cause Caboodles Makeup is getting harder and harder to track down.
Annyhoo...Tahiti is a lovely, light golden tan color with gold shimmer. Not too dark at all. I believe that this color would work on almost any girl. This never, I repeat never looks orange. The texture is so soft...softer than my MAC and UD bronzers! It goes on very easily, and smoothly. Stays for a good while too. The quality of this is stunning for the price (a little over $5). The picture SadieMC posted is right on. I'd buy again and again.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Juice - Butterscotch Drop
Blinkers345 3/9/2006 10:23:00 AM
Butterscotch Drop is a creamy beigey-cappucino color. However its got a hint of peach to it, and is medium in depth, so I think it could work for most people (wouldnt wash ppl out I dont think). Texture and smell are nice, like all other CJ.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Color Juice in Passion Fruit Squeeze
Blinkers345 3/9/2006 10:21:00 AM
I love LOreal Colour Juice. I got rid of all my Juicy Tubes for these, because IMO they are exactly the same, and I even like the scent of these better. The squeeze tube gives you alot of product for your money, even though its quite expensive for a drugstore product. I usually just wait till these on sale to stock up. The texture is pretty sticky and thick, but I like it that way because it lasts more.
Passion Fruit Squeeze is a creamy pinky-brownsih beige color, very YLBB. No shimmer. Just a nice, basic gloss that goes with almost anything. Would buy again if I ran out.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Coco Beach pigment
Blinkers345 3/8/2006 11:54:00 AM
Let me just start by saying, Coco Beach is a GORGEOUS shade. Dark bronzey brown with gold shimmer and reddish burgundy undertones. The staying power was great too, just like all the pigments. Very soft texture too. This is a very sought after color..and I didnt know that! When I put it up for swap, I got about 10 requests in the span of 10 minutes.
However, this just did not do the trick for me. I tend to look better in cooler toned e/s, mainly taupes, so the redness in CB didnt work for me. I cant wear most peaches, rich bronzes etc..they just look strange on me. It looked alright if I used it very sparringly, or as eyeliner, but IMO it wasnt worth keeping the entire jar. It's a shame too, I wanted to like this so much!

Blush -L'Oreal - Blush Delice - Front-Page Peach
Blinkers345 2/26/2006 6:17:00 PM
I was originally not going to give in to all the hype about FPP. I had seen it in stores before, and not thought much of it. I figured it would be another one of those too bright shades with no pigment to it. I havent been very into makeup lately either...this is one of the first purchases I've made in about 6 months, and I'm very glad I did.
Front Page Peach is a flat out gorgeous color. In the container, it looks straight orange, but when you apply it to the skin it takes on a golden tone. It's a shimmery medium peach with hints of pink and gentle gold shimmer, definately one of the prettiest blushes I own. I'm a MMM, MAC NC35ish. This is going to be a beautiful color for summer and spring. It gives my cheeks this 'glow' that I havent gotten from many other products before.
The texture of this is great too. Very soft and pigmented. I was sad that LOreal decided to do away with the cute little Blush Delice compacts with the brushes and mirrors, because I liked those alot. These are better though, because it's alot more product for the same price, and its sleeker. I hope LOreal wises up and decides to make this permament. Otherwise I'll need to go and stock up..

Blush -New York Color - Color Wheel Mosaic Powder Pink Cheek Glow
Blinkers345 2/15/2006 5:00:00 PM
I've been looking for a Mosaic type pink blush like this for a long time..I've mulled over several options, the VS, the Neutrogena, the Milani...but never actually bought any of them. The first two were kind of expensive, and the latter was LE and I missed out on it. I stumbled across this at the grocery store, on the end of an aisle...and I'm really glad. This is a mosaic type blush with several matte pink shades ranging from light baby pink (think MAC Angel), to hot pink (MAC Pink Swoon, NARS Desire), to brownish pink (MAC Blushbaby), to plummy dark pink (Benefit Dallas, MAC Mocha). All the shades are pigmented and very smooth. The texture is very soft and powdery, but it blends into my skin very well. It also stays on well, which is a miracle for my oily skin.
The packaging could use a little work...it's a lift off top, which I dont like because it tends to fall off in my bag. The pan is really big though, about 3 inches in diameter, which is great for the $4.99 I paid for it. I've never understood why NYC products have recieved such negative press, almost every thing I've tried I've liked.

Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Diamond Lip Treatment in Must-Have Iris
Blinkers345 4/3/2005 9:54:00 PM
Pretty, pretty color! At first glance it appears to be an overly frosty barbie pink, but when applied it's a really pretty and sheer. It's a shimmery medium blue toned pink with silver shimmer. It's what I expected Lancome Miracle to be :) There's more pigment, more shimmer, and a really great scent. EDIT: This irritated my lips a great deal after about a months use. The scent is also a bit too strong for me, and I'm not even that sensetive to smells.

Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Diamond Lip Treatment in Champagne Toast
Blinkers345 3/29/2005 7:53:00 PM
There's not much that's Champagne about this color at all..its more of a mauvey-pink, that's infused with tons of multicolored shimmer. There is alot of shimmer, but its not very sticky. It's a little too light for me, but I could definately make it work because I like the texture so much. It reminds me of Almay Whipped l/g in Pinched Pink, but I like the Pinched Pink better because it has a little more color and depth to it. EDIT: This irritated my lips a great deal after about a months use. The scent is also a bit too strong for me, and I'm not even that sensetive to smells.

Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Diamond Lip Treatment "Antique Bronze"
Blinkers345 3/29/2005 7:51:00 PM
I didnt give much thought to this product when it came out, but I started hearing raves for it from my friends, and it's on sale this week at Walgreens, so I figured why not!
This gloss is reeaaly nice. Very thick, but not sticky, and definately not gritty. I'd use the word "creamy" to describe this shade in particular. The brush applicator is nice, I prefer it over the doe-tip anyday, I feel it provides a neater application. It smells pretty good too, like Coconut and Vanilla.
Antique Bronze isnt a bronze at all...its more of a YLBB pinkish nude with very fine gold shimmer. It's so pretty, and its not very sheer either so I'll bet it would show up on all kinds of people. I'm glad I got it! The only complaint I have is that this sort of numbs my lips. EDIT: This irritated my lips a great deal after about a months use. The scent is also a bit too strong for me, and I'm not even that sensetive to smells.

Lip Gloss -DuWop - Lip Venom
Blinkers345 3/29/2005 7:46:00 PM
I'm probably one of the very few people who truly love this product. I have 3 tubes, all in heavy rotation. I do think its expensive for the size, but you really dont need much for the desired effect.
For Me, Lip Venom is a clear l/g with a really nice kick. It tingles alot, but its not something I cant handle (I actually like the tingle..I buy lots of lip stuff for the tingle, Burts Bees, this, Carmex). There's a nice smell of cinnamon, with a hint of bubblegum, to me anyway. It doesnt give my lips any real color right away, but the stinging effect gives me this great natural, red color that I love. I have very pale lips naturally, that are quite full already, so it doesnt do much for the size. I'm going to try one of the colored l/g next :)

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - ColorJuice Lipgloss in Peaches N Creme
Blinkers345 12/20/2004 2:16:00 PM
Peaches N Creme is part of the new ColorJuice line, the ones with little to no shimmer. Its also more pigmented than the previous CJ, which I like alot.
Peaches N Creme is a creamy tawny tan color with a heavy peachy/melon undertone and no shimmer. Imagine MAC Revealing with a peachy color as the base instead of a tan. Very pretty, it'll look good in the summer especially. I want Bubble Gum, Butterscotch Drop and Pina Colada next :)

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - Tutti Dolci - Angel food cake
Blinkers345 12/20/2004 2:14:00 PM
This is pretty much the same color as the Creme Brulee gloss, a transparent pinky-beige that shows up as mostly silver shimmer. Im not the biggest fan of the color, but I love the scent so I will keep this, but I wont repurchase.
