Lipstick -MAC - Cockney - Euristocrats
Bindi7 5/23/2011 11:33:00 AM
I went to the MAC Counter a few weeks ago looking for a red that would suit my olive skin tone (NC37 in studio fix fluid at the moment). This is spot on.. if worn alone it is a deep red on me - but not at all blue or pink - just red - if that makes sense! Also, when worn alone it gives that dramatic effect - perfect for nights out. I like to mix mine with CB96 (coral/orange with gold) which for me gives a wonderful bright coral - red that i prefer for my warm skin tone. I would definitely recommend this to ladies who have tan/olive skin tones who are scared to wear red.. you will love it!

Lipstick -MAC - Lipstick in Bombshell
Bindi7 2/15/2011 9:33:00 AM
This is such a lovely pink lipstick! I went to the MAC counter looking for a nice pink lipstick for my C40 (in Studio fix powder) / NC30 (in Studio fix fluid) skin tone. This seemed like the best option - not too bright, but not too pale. I am so glad i got it - i love it!!!! It has some gold shimmer running through, but i think this 'warms' it up and avoids it looking flat. I don't like extremely bright/bold lipsticks and not very pale ones either - so this is perfect. A pretty pink that stands out but is not too bright or garish. Would recommed to many skintones, but particularly to Medium/Olive/Tan skin.

Mascara -MAC - False Lashes
Bindi7 2/15/2011 9:25:00 AM
I really like this mascara. It doesn't give you a false lash effect but is a very good volumising mascara that is a deep black and no smudges/smearing. I am lucky to have long lashes and so i tend to go for mascaras that volumize. I would repurchase as the product is of high qualiity and so will not let you down by smudging or smearing and stays put. To be fair, i can get more or less the same effect with Maybelline The Falsies, so i will probably save this for long wear/going out/special occasions etc.

Eyes -E.L.F. - Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter
Bindi7 2/4/2011 5:58:00 AM
I really like this concealer. I haven't really used the highlighter, but the concealer is fab! just a few dots under the eyes and then i blend with a concealer brush (BE concealer brush) - good coverage, but natural looking and not mask like! I also like the ELF tone correcting concealer, which is less than half the price of this :-) so i may not repurchase this product, but would recommend if the cheaper tone correcting concealer doesn't work for you.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Miss Dior Cherie L'eau
Bindi7 2/4/2011 5:49:00 AM
I agree with one of the other reviews that it this fragrance doesn't last so long - but it is a lovely soft feminine smell. A little on the sweet side, but very pretty. I only wear this for daytime - but i do need about 4 sprays! Overall i really like the smell, but for me it's not powerful enough for going out/evening wear. Recommend this to ladies who don't mind a slightly sweet smell that is feminine and soft.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Made For Me Pinks SUNSET
Bindi7 2/3/2011 9:19:00 AM
This is a nice pink on me and warms my skin tone up. For reference i am olive (C4 at moment) with medium-dark brown hair. I have some favourites in the range, but this is definetly one of the nicer shades - great for daywear and doesn't look scary!

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
Bindi7 1/31/2011 11:46:00 AM
I have been using the Studio Fix powder foundation for nearly 10 years and although i am very happy with it, i was looking for something with a bit more staying power and oil control for special occassions & going out. This foundation is amazing! I got matched for NC30 and bought the pump as well as i know it will reduce wastage in the long run. The colour match is near perfect and the SA matched it up to my neck colour which i was very happy with as i have ended up with the right colour. I think i will probably end up needing to purchase NC35 when i am tanned in the summer, but the NC30 shade is perfect for the moment. The consistency is good and the liquid spreads and blends very easily - not streaking at all!.. Even when using a primer underneath (L'Oreal smooth resurfacing primer)!! I have oily skin and so one of my main concerns was that i would end up shiny by lunchtime, but this lasted all day :-) There was some natural shine coming through, but not enough to warrant using blot paper/powder. This is a first for me as i get shiny within a few hours of applying foundation. Overall i am very very pleased with this foundation and i know i will repurchase. This is so worth trying if you are looking for a matte effect foundation with staying power - the SPF 15 is an added bonus too! A must have for combination/oily skin in my opinion.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Bella Bamba
Bindi7 1/30/2011 3:42:00 PM
As i have most of the other Benefit blushes i thought i'd try bella bamba out as i had heard that this was aimed at tanned and darker skin tones. I love this! I have to say that the effect is better on my skin tone (NC35 at the moment) than all the other benefit powders i have .... Dandelion, Coralista, Georgia, Sugar Bomb, Dallas.... The powder is very fine and so it is easy to apply - this is one of the things i love most about the benefit blushes. I apply with a lighter hand as you can easily look too overdone if you apply with a heavy hand. This is definitely a shade to try for tanned and darker skin if you like pink blush. There is shimmer, but i always go for shimmery blushes so i don't mind this. I have applied on its own with a light hand for a fresh pop of colour and also on top of bronzer (NARS Laguna) which gines a lovely bronze/pink glow. Best Benefit blush for tanned/olive/darker skin tones :-)

Crème -MAC - Full Coverage Foundation
Bindi7 1/13/2011 10:51:00 AM
As some other people have commented, i bought this after seeing it used by gossmakeupartist. I have oily skin and so some foundations literally slide off my skin or leave me really shiny by lunchtime! Today was my first day using this. I wanted to follow the same application technique as gossmakeupartist, but was low on time so here's what i did: 1) applied moisturiser and primer, followed by concealer under my eyes. 2) dotted all over my face with a foundation brush (i use the ELF studio angled foundation brush) and then blended over my whole face with the brush. 3) set with NARS pressed powder using ELF Complexion brush. I am lucky to have good skin and so i didn't need much product at all and therefore i think this is very good value. Also, i like the finish - you don't looked 'caked' in make up - skin looks flawless. I can understand though that if you apply lots of layes then this would look really fake and mask like. I know already that this is one of my favourite foundations and i will be using this for the weddings i am attending this summer! I know it will work through heat, humidity, and long wear etc. I have this in C40 which works for my olive skin tone. I will try again over the next few days (when i have some time!) using the gossmakeupartist method (dot, blend with moist sponge, and set with powder and powder puff). I hope this review has helped some of you.

Mascara -E.L.F. - Wet Gloss Lash and Brow Clear Mascara
Bindi7 1/12/2011 8:24:00 AM
Brilliant brilliant brow gel. My brows tend to move around because of my sweeping fringe, but this keeps them in place. For £1.50 you can't go wrong at all. I use both ends of the tube for my brows and it may sound weird, but the lash brush actually works better on my brows than the brow brush!!!!!! I'm not complaining though! Great product that i will continue to repurchase. I love E.L.F. products.

Concealers -E.L.F. - Tone Correcting Concealer
Bindi7 1/12/2011 8:16:00 AM
I have this in Honey and while i use it everyday the shade is a little too dark for my skin tone so i am going to try the apricor beige shade when i next order. That being said, i can't really complain about this product - good coverage (very natural), low price, good choice of colours and easy to use. If you want a natural looking, low price concealer then do try this.

Styling Products -Sebastian - Zero(g) Runway Finishing Spray
Bindi7 1/12/2011 8:06:00 AM
This is THE best hairspray for fine hair. I can't say enough about this. It holds like a dream, but without looking stiff or OTT. I have used this when putting hair up and also when its down - straight and curly/wavy and it performs amazingly each time. I use mine for going out/special ocassions as it is expensive (i think) for what you get. I have just ordered my second can though as i love it and think it's worth every penny. Keeps the volume in hair and has not failed me through wind, rain or snow! That's what i call a hairspray :-)

Blush -E.L.F. - studio blush in berry merry
Bindi7 1/12/2011 7:52:00 AM
I agree with one of the other reviews that it is a very close match to NARS Sin. I think it is also a close match to NARS Oasis. If you are thinking of purchasing any of these shades then i would say try this first to see what you think of the colour. I am happy with the colour as i am olive skinned (NC 40-41/C40) and so it is not too dark on me. A nice berry shade. I find that i have to apply with a lighter hand than some of my other blushes, but i apply over a slightly lighter colour so this helps! A great colour on tanned/darker skins for a cheap price.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Brightening Eyeliner

Awful - don't even waste your money! Not very pigmented and you have to drag to get any colour. Yuck. The eyeliner pen is way way better.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - All Colors
Bindi7 1/12/2011 7:20:00 AM
I got this delivered to me yesterday in black and couldn't wait to try! I put this on today with the free little brush (very good) and i am very impressed. I lined my upper lash line and it has not budged at all!! I even tried rubbing it slightly to see how smudge and budge resistant it is and nothing moves!!!!! Result! For £3.50 there is nothing bad to say about this. I think i will be repurchasing in other colours now!!!!
