Lip Gloss -Soap and Glory - Sexy Motherpucker

Although I love the colours I found these stung way too much and had to put a layer of lip balm on first. Quite thick but a little sticky especially if you have long hair which seems to gravitate towards it! If they didn't sting so much I probably would have purchased again. Didn't notice any major plumping action for all that either.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Faith in Nature Jojoba Conditioner

okay, not bad, not amazing. VERY thin and runny and so is very mild in action. This is okay for me as I have very oily hair and only use it on the ends. no strong smell or reaction of any kind. Under £3 for 250 ml bottle so very cheap. Wierd bottle top where you have to sqeeze the size to make the top pop up! might repurchase although I like other brands better. I seem to end up pouring too much on my hands and wasting it. paraben and SLES free which is good.

Bath Treatments -L'Occitane - Lavender AOC Shower Gel
rated 5 of 5

I can't believe I hadn't put a review on this before now as it is my absolute FAVOURITE shower gel. I love all l'occitane gels (also cherry blossom and almond/armande). I love the smell - its french lavender with a hint of camphor according to the seller on QVC.I think of it as a cool floral. I use it every day. Best if used with a puff. A bit expensive but I stocked up at an outlet store and a little goes a long way. I keep it in a cupboard away from the sun to preserve the scent. I hope they don't discontinue this now!

Blush -Laura Geller - Tartufo
rated 3 of 5

I got this in the chocolate QVC TSV and was disappointed as it was too orange/peachy for me and still a bit too glittery. was gutted it was followed up in the UK with the ethereal berry sateen finish which I would have preferred. Auctioned it off along with the tiramisu so all not lost

Shampoo -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Lavender
rated 4 of 5
AnnKB 9/3/2010 6:23:00 AM

Well I braved the reviews here and, as a lover of the conditioner and ezyme scrub, I risked trying the shampoo. I really like the l'occitane lavender shampoo but find that a little harsh, and expensive, so have been looking for a replacement. I bought a 325 ml (11 floz) bottle from my local health shop for about £5.60. the label says 'NEW' ('more essential oils') so maybe they have changed the formula. I have VERY oily shoulder length hair and have been trying lots of 'natural' brands which have been disappointing. My hair often still looks oily even after washing and drying with them. Not so with this. I only used a small amount. it doesn't lather well and I didn't want to make the mistake of adding more to try to make it lather so just massaged it through and then rinsed, following with a little conditioner on the ends. My hair looks clean and feels lovely and soft. I'm relieved!! The shampoo also smells great. I will continue to use it and update if I experience any stripping/drying. so far so good, will repurchase. Good value for the quantity and good that I can get it locally.

Concealers -Garnier - Anti-Dark-Circle Eye Roller
rated 4 of 5
AnnKB 9/3/2010 6:14:00 AM

I tried this in the Fair shade although I was sceptical! However it is a great concealer. You only need a small amount, it is very light and covers dark circles easily without causing any dry patches or showing up lines. I even extend it down a bit to cover minor sun damage. Despite the thin consistency it covers well and stays put for a long time. Currently on UK shelves for £4.99 , advertised at £9.99 but not seen at over £6.99! My dilemma is that the 3rd ingredient on the list is alcohol denat. which probably accounts for much of the 'cooling'. this worries me as it can dry skin which may cause more lines. There is also a LOT of packaging which I don't think it really needs. I don't really suffer from bags so can't comment on its effectiveness there but I am torn between the alcohol issue and how good the concealer is. I would probably get again but make sure I moisturise under the eyes first.

Shampoo -L'Occitane - Cherry Blossom Shampoo
rated 2 of 5
AnnKB 7/28/2010 5:07:00 AM

I was really disappointed with this. I got it as a set with the conditioner. The packaging is the same as the other cherry blossom items. The shampoo looks like the bath/shower gel but has a pump dispenser (on 250ml bottle) which is good. I was expecting this to have the same strong scent as the lavender shampoo but it didn't. It also left a residue on my hair which didn't seem to rinse out and as I have oily hair it made it limp and lank. probably better suited to normal/dry hair. would not buy again. the conditioner is OK but again not much scent.

Concealers -Mally Beauty - Cancellation Concealer 3-piece system
rated 4 of 5
AnnKB 5/15/2010 3:56:00 AM

Although the light/medium is the perfect colour and I like the brush I just can't seem to get it to provide good coverage without creasing and showing up fine lines. the powder is OK but doesn't set the concealer for as long as I'd hoped. I also wanted it to help cover acne scars at work all day but it is gone by mid afternoon. still, its better than Benefit Boing but too pricey. The 2 compacts are annoying. at least I only paid £15 as its over double that new. I will persevere a little longer in case its user error! UPDATE: Less is more with this product and blend with your fingers. I have managed to get it to cover under eye circles quite well and it is the longest lasting concealer I have ever used it still doesn't last as long as Mally claims. Makes it easy to get off though. still pleased with it and would get it again.

Moisturizers -Neal's Yard - Power Berry Moisturiser
rated 2 of 5
AnnKB 4/1/2010 7:08:00 AM

Tried a tube of this that came with a magazine. Has a very light texture, smells a bit like bubble gum. I didn't think it would do much but I tried it on my face overnight and my skin was lovely and soft in the morning. I have oily/combination skin. I put some round the eyes on the fine lines and it seemed to help make them look better - plus didn't irritate. £22 in UK for 100ml glass bottle with pump. A bit pricey but is a great all round cream and better than buying in pots of 30 or 50ml. Update: had to reduce rating as it caused dry red patches on my face :-(

Eye Shadow -Mally Beauty - Twilight
rated 4 of 5
AnnKB 3/13/2010 10:27:00 AM

I got this on ebay recently having seen the QVC TSV. It comes in a tube with wierd spring loaded foam applicator . Its a very light loose powder and does tend to spill if you don't tap it carefully first (and even then some does escape). I LOVE the colour. its a taupy brown, a little shimmery but not obviously so and it really does last ALL day. (I usually use Benefit lemon aid underneath.) It would look really good on blue or green eyes. Doesn't irritate either which is a bonus. It is a bit expensive for the amount you get but I would get it again for the colour and quality. I hope this is not discontinued. update: I see Mally has introduced a stick verson of this although you get less product for the money, its more portable. Wouldn't mind trying it but not at the full price. Although I like Mally's products (nice colours, not too glittery, long lasting) no way do they justify the prices charged, especially in the UK where we pay more for everything.

Treatments (Eye) -Liz Earle - Liz Earle - Daily Eye Repair
rated 4 of 5
AnnKB 3/13/2010 10:18:00 AM

At first I didn't like this but now I have found a good use for it. I use it immediately under the eye area instead of concealer which just shows up lines. now I only put concealer on around the bone and this above. On its own its not enough to conceal anything and it helps smooth the lines a little but for this use I would repurchase. A little goes a long way and it doesn't migrate into and irritate your eyes. very pricey for what you get though but will last a long time. don't use (or the line serum) if you are sensitive to glycerin(e)

Eyes -Laura Geller - Eye Rimz Baked Wet/Dry Accents
rated 4 of 5
AnnKB 3/7/2010 11:23:00 AM

I got this in bronzze which is a nice shade for anyone with blue or green eyes. The brush is excellent and makes it easy to apply.. I was terrible at putting eyeliner on until this came out. A little pricy but I got mine off ebay and it will last for ages as you get loads. I also got this in the Fire Water which is a lovely teal colour. However it is WAY too glittery. the colour itself goes on darker and I like it very much, I just need to find a way to get rid of the glittery bits! UPDATE: Have reduced the rating as it does smudge and the glittery bits migrate. also the 'potion' which is meant to be purple is pretty much black.

Lip Gloss -Avon - anew in nude
rated 2 of 5
AnnKB 1/9/2010 10:05:00 AM

its discontinued now, and I can see why. It sounded nice - good colour options and I like the click pen delivery and it seems to last well but the smell is bad (often the case with Avon) and the consistency is strange. creamy but not very smooth, I wouldn't have said my lips were particularly wrinkly but this gloss seemed to make them look more so! would not repurchase if it was available. Am disappointed.

Lip Treatments -Soap and Glory - Sexy Motherpucker Lip Gloss
rated 3 of 5
AnnKB 1/2/2010 4:00:00 PM

I like: the colour choice- pink, plum, nudes without shimmer are all my favourites. good size tubes and nice consistency. manages to withstand hot drinks but those with long hair will find it sticks. I found the 'tingle' more of a sting and quite painful but it does help fill in any fine lines on the lips. I will use until they run out as I love the colours but wouldn't repurchase as the sting is too uncomfortable for me.

Fragrances -L'Occitane - Almond Blossom Dew [perfume gel] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
AnnKB 12/19/2009 10:38:00 AM

I am a big fan of l'occitane fragrances and love the almond range - the soap is always in my bathroom. This smells similar to the soap - almondy , hint of vanilla - good enough to eat. I'm not sure about the formula but I like to slap in on generously and find it lasts quite a long time, longer than the sprays. Its discontinued which is a shame. I wish they would bring the scent back . Expensive but not as expensive as many scents out there and lovely fresh, clean and 'natural' .
